"Cattle Drive to Hell" is a historical adventure novel of approximately 60,000 words. No cliffhangers, only pure unadulterated action.
Austin Grayson was born in Wichita, Kansas. He married his high school sweetheart and they currently live happily with their two daughters and an adorable Labrador.
He studied cinematography in the University of North Carolina, but his true passion was always writing stories.
Ever since he could remember, everything inside of him was looking for adventure; in books, movies, life. Now he also gets to write about it!
When he’s not writing, Austin enjoys fishing, trekking, horse-riding and Spaghetti Westerns which he loves watching along with his family every chance they get.
A young woman, daughter of a bully of a father and a timid mother, given to an abusive husband. Escapes the abuse only to find her own parents taken. With a ranch on her hands she decides to sell it all towards a new life. The characters are all very unique. A young woman running away from her past. A young boy trying to prove his worth in the world. Two cowhands, one old and grizzled, the other younger but stronger. Add to this a man after a treasure he lost, A Texas Ranger after a fugitive, and an Indian chasing after a vision. All this makes for the story that is Cattle Drive to Hell. A western tale well worth you time and notice by a promising author.
This fascinatingly series of events will definitely keep you turning pages!
Another five stars extravaganza by one of my favorite authors, as you will enjoy riding along with the good guys in their pursuit of the bad ones! The ongoing descriptive storylines will pacify anyone's desired expectations from beginning until the final exciting episode has been achieved! Too, the descriptiveness of each character selection is unsurpassed in their respective roles! No slowdowns from beginning to the final exciting episode has been achieved! Most definitely recommend this one to all readers, as I assure everyone, regardless of your reading preferences, will find it hard to put the story aside until the final episode has been read!!!😃
This story shows the resilience of women from the 1800's. They are forced to marry whomever their parents choose for them and have the make it work. Unfortunately, in this case it didn't. Jessie's husband was brutal and tortured her daily so she made a plan to be able to run away with a few things and burn the house down, her husband didn't know she had practiced with his gun. Forced to run away she went back to her family home in time to find more death. She found a friend along the trail and she and a few more are taking the cattle from the ranch to a buyer in San Diego. Long trip and lots of hazards on the way. Great story!
This was a strange book with a lot of violence against women talked about from Jessie and her mother’s past. The characters were very good even as miss matched as they were. There was lots of action. The men used good judgment, even though Jessie stayed mixed up most of the way through the book. The book is an interesting read, even with a different ending than I expected, but you know the heroine always wins out in the end. Or did she? Read and enjoy.

This is a story of a young women who was raised by an abusive father and sold to an abusive husband. She killed her husband in self defense and gained her freedom. When returning home to find her parents deceased she, along with some helpers, took her father's cattle to San Diego to sell. Along the way she met many hardships, and some good people. This is a story of overcoming adversity and prejudice. It is very enjoyable.
I didn’t care got trending at all ! I didn’t like that she married the Indian. I was hoping she would marry Walt. But oh well I won’t read another of Mr. Grayson books it was hard for me to finish this one….
A great story filled with tragedy, adventure and eventually love. Jessie did not grow up a home filled with love and she was given to a man to marry. No love just pain was all she got. And then the real story begins.
It is an outstanding and wonderful story. Kept my attention until the end. Austin Grayson is one of my favorite authors. I'm never bored reading his stories.
