Ours to Keep

Rate this book
When Jackson, Elliot, River, and Thomas were hired to protect a socialite, they weren’t expecting to form a connection with her. Lily Montgomery has become more than a job to them, they need her as much as she needs them. But they’d been distracted, too intoxicated by her to notice the real threat had been right under their noses the entire time.

Until they find Lily beaten and unconscious.

Guilt consumes the four formidable men, each of them blaming themselves. They’ve all been through indescribable horrors, but nothing could’ve prepared them for the sight of Lily’s broken, lifeless body.  And they’re more determined than ever to protect her.

Once she’s hidden away at the safe house, they work to track down the threat and help Lily battle haunting memories of abuse.

But the danger is more complex than they imagined.

As their relationships continue to shift, each of them feeling a deep bond with her, they convince Lily to open her heart to the possibility of being with all of them. But, with love and danger entwined, can they all find the strength to overcome the darkness and emerge stronger together?

Such a good ending! This sequel is really action-packed as the guys try their best to keep Lily safe and catch her father for what he did to her. We still get a load of relationship scenes and I really liked how well-developed each of the individual relationships between Lily and the guys were. There are a few cameos from other books but nothing that would make it too complicated for anyone who hasn't read more of Pullen's work (even though you should!). This duet was the perfect mix of romance and plot and the sequel definitely delivered for me.

I received a free ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 4 (Why Choose / Bodyguard Romance)
🌶️🌶️🌶️ - 3

I had the pleasure of ARC reading books one and two of this duet, and I absolutely adored them! My only complaint is that I wanted more time with them! 🥹….FYI River is my favorite! 🫠

Also…do I sense Mason book in the works? 😏😍

This is a great sequel to the first novel of this duet. The relationship between the characters is fun to watch and the storyline is full of romance and suspense. I’m sad it’s over!

I’m absolutely in love with these stories and these characters…. Absolutely five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
and deserves a lot, lot more.

Ours To Protect finished on a cliffhanger and I honestly nearly threw a fit…. I needed the second book to dive straight into but had to wait. RUDE, haha jokes. I mean I’m not obsessed with these characters or anything 😝🤪 YEAH I AM, I absolutely am.

They were tasked to protect her from an unknown threat. Not realising till it’s too late that the treat is closer than they thought. Now they have to bring justice for the girl they call “Ours”

The way this story has grown and been built up is absolutely beautiful these characters are just 😘 chefs kiss. I love the chemistry between these four best friends Jackson, River, Elliot and Tommy and the way they are together, a bond that can’t be broken, a brotherhood . It’s so nice to see their individual bonds with each other and with what they have been through and why they have such a strong bond. From past trauma and healing and their bonds just getting stronger and stronger, because they all know how the other is feeling or what they need, they have an understanding of each other.

The way they each look out for Lily and do all they can to help her is just beautiful to read. They will do anything to protect her, anything.
Lilly is their saviour as they are hers, the pull they all have to one another is undeniable and very swoon worthy when reading, the spice is just hooottt as hell I blushed a few times and hid behind my kindle 😂
When you have pierced 🍆 and mouths full of sin
🥵🥵 absolutely getting 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ cos the spicy is spppiiicccyyyyy and I love it

I love the way Leila had characters from saved by two in this story.., absolutely one of my favourite stories that I wish I could read again for the first time. As soon as I seen the characters names I did a giddy squeal. Awww this series is now one of my favourite reads and you absolutely need to get LS Pullens books…
this book has left me with a lovely feeling in my heart, this is why I love books so much when you get lost in their world, in their story and you finish the book feeling all warm, fuzzy and happy with a full heart.
This is what reading is all about.

Why Choose✅
Bodyguards✅
Male/Male✅
Duet Book 2✅

Plot 5✨

Favorite Quote:
"...You make things a little lighter. You give me an inner sense of peace. I want to be that for you too. Even when I struggle to show it or give you everything you need, I need you to know I'm trying." Tommy

Thoughts:
First off you have to read the Ours to Protect before reading this book.

Secondly, I need to say that I'm not a huge fan of why choose books especially if there are two males who are in a committed relationship, but this story and the first book are the exception. L.S. Pullen wrote these books perfectly in my opinion. While I read to escape the real world, I love when books have a touch of realism in them. Unlike most Why Choose books the boys in this one did question rather it was something they could endure-sharing Lilly-and I loved that.

Like always L.S. Pullen's writing style made this book easy to read and sucked me in from the first sentence. I didn't want to put it down once I started it. I loved watching Lilly's relationship with River, Elliot, and Jackson grow but I loved watching her and Tommy finally get together. I have to admit Tommy is my favorite-sorry not sorry.

The action in this story was addictive and I loved that the spice did not take away from it but was a perfect addition. I will be recommending this story to everyone because it's a beautiful story of finding love, dealing with grief, overcoming your demons and simply put how one person can change your entire world.

DAMN, I KNEW THEIR WAS SOMETHING FISHY ABOUT RICHARD. FILFY BITCH. But awhhh this was so cuteeee, I love the characters so much. Lily is so strong bless her heart and deserves the world, Elliot..tbh we didn’t get much of Elliot like I feel like I don’t know him as much as I know the other guys, but the love his has for River and Lily is adorableee, I thought River was a going to be one of those flirty douchebags tbh, but he actually wasn’ttt he’s a cuite, and Tommy oh bless him, I’m so proud of him for slowly opening up to Lily though and finally trusting her. And Jackson I hated him in the first book tbh, he was so against everything and was always a stress head..like calm down man it’s not that serious, but he’s acc so sweet, he’s just a big softie.

I feel like this book was a bit jumpy in bits though, like BOO their in love and then BOO here’s a dress Lily designed in
High School like we didn’t really get like a back story on Lily much..we did a little bit more on the guys but not by much, and we didn’t really get like a build up to the feelings either, it was definitely a “fall in love at first sight” type of thing, but I enjoyed it anyway.

Lily Montgomery you lucky lucky lucky lucky girl
Duchess,Vixen, Sunshine & Sweetheart

I have been waiting in anticipation for this book since the cliff hanger we were left with in Ours to protect and it was definitely worth the wait.

We are once again reunited with the four season Jackson (Jax) , Elliot , River & Tommy as they set out to revenge what happened to Lilly.

This book had a good amount of suspense and action as the story unravels and I said this in my last review and I still stand by this. L.S Pullen writes spice in a poetic way. It’s beautiful, sweet , messy & scorching at the same time and I like the way each character gets their moments it’s not rushed and it matches their personalities.

Jax is still my no 1 guy he is such an alpha I felt like I needed to obey him while reading as his persona comes well off the page. Tommy surprised me it’s always the quiet ones . He was still dealing with his own deep personal trauma but the way he was with Lilly was sweet & hot . River & Elliot I could read those two all day everyday in and out of the bedroom their chemistry and banter is just fire . They are like a prequel story waiting to be told 😉. Lilly was still the sweet heiress character dealing with her unfortunate situation but she has four strong men that I liked her character remaining sweet and protected .

This book jumped right back in where Ours To Protect finished and it didn't miss a beat. Which I'm glad of because I nearly threw my kindle across the room after it landed on a cliffhanger 😅

It's for sure but it doesn't take anything away from the plot. There is a lot of character growth for all and they all blend so well together.

The boys care so deeply for Lily and will do anything for her. Her feelings are reciprocated unconditionally and this really pulls all of them together. In more ways than one 😏

Sweet Tommy! I'm glad we got a bit more of him in this book and a dive into his past explains a bit more about why he is the way he is. I love how Lily makes him feel like he can be himself and surrenders herself to him so he can show his love.

In my eyes Jax is alpha but why choose if you don't have to. They say two heads are better than one...well what about four 😍😜

I really enjoyed this book and am silently hoping Avery gets her own book because she is a force!!

Release date is 19th September. Thank you so much for the ARC 💕

This book continues right from where Ours to Protect left off. It felt really seamless. Everything seems amplified in this book whether the threat to Lily or the obvious chemistry between her and her men.
I was livid at what she had survived and was hoping that some justice would be doled out (it was.) I also felt for each of the guys, especially Jackson, since they not only felt horror what happened to Lily but felt responsible.
I loved that the guys seemed to come to an unspoken understanding about what was happening between them all. I feel like Tommy really came a long way. Just talking to Lily about some of what he went through was pretty major.
I liked that Noah and Caleb helped Lily and the guys out, particularly after how the guys helped them with Jessica. I’m very curious as to what went down between Avery and Mason!! Seriously, I really want to know more!!!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

FINALLY!!! I have been waiting for this book since I finished the previous one and it left us on a surprise cliffhanger. (So first book needs to be read first) I loved seeing the guys and Lilys relationships develop throughout the book not just with Lily but between themselves too and not just romantic relationships. The side characters were great too whether from previous books or not (and hopefully their books are coming)
Lily doing everything she can to get her sister safe while trying to heal herself and putting everyone else before herself but then the guys showing her that she needs to be taken care of too. And that's exactly what they do each in their own way. And yes there are sexy times between Lily and her men and oh boy is it hot.
I absolutely loved this Duet and can't wait to see what's coming next.

This. Book! This duet has had me hooked from start to finish. What a ride this has been. Ours To Keep picks up from where book one left us and carries on being a page turner!

You really get to dig deep with the guys and see their vulnerable sides more. I love all of Lily's guys, they really make me swoon 😍 I fell in love with all these characters from the beginning and I have loved following them to get their HEA, even though it certainly wasn't easy. The spice in this is 👌🏻🔥🥵 top notch, like, pass me the fan please someone 🥵

I can't recommend this duet enough. Pullen has a writing style that just sucks you into the world that she is writing and you feel everything with the characters. It's a must read!

This is a duet. Now, don't pick it up if you haven't read book 1, lol!

Book 2 picks up where book 1 left off with Lily beaten unconscious. Her evil stepfather is on the run and the guys can't find him. How in the world are they going to investigate Richard and keep Lily safe? Good thing there's four of them.

Things get very complicated the deeper they search for Richard. He's a step ahead of them, and the more they search, the more they realize how much he's hurt Lily. They're all desperate to find him. One to bring him to justice and to also mount a rescue mission.

The guys and Lily are learning to navigate their relationships. With her and each other. It's very steamy here.

I loved the pop in of some old characters during all the mayhem.

Will justice be served? Read and find out!

Overall I would give this a 3.5 ⭐

After the cliffhanger in the first one I was so ready to know what was going to happen with Lily in book two but I was in a reading slump when book two released so I just now got around to reading it.

This one just didn't keep my attention the way that book one did, I read that one so quickly and enjoyed it. This one just seemed a bit slower and focused less on the romance I guess and I wanted there to be more of that.

I'm all for the spice but that also didn't seem as good this time.

I gave it a 3.5 because it still had its good moments but it just didn't hit the mark for me. Even though this one wasn't the best to me, of course I will still read other books that the author writes.

ok I tried but I couldn't do it. I feel like this writer truly doesn't know how to right a bodyguard book or military men. I am still so confused how 4 guys let the things happen to her. then the whole first of this book is just all of them apologizing but never really doing anything. I mean when they found her they didn't go after Richard or even call the school of her sister they just froze. Im like through all of their training and their husiness alot of ahit went down for them to be eatching constantly. And this poor girl just has to apologize to make them feel better. I was hoping Richard wasn't the only bad guy and maybe someone else but pretty much when they find out about the dark web and all the money I was like I'm out.

"You’re it for us. You’re ours to protect. Ours to cherish. Ours to adore. And ours to keep."

Ours to Keep starts in the exact scene where Ours to Protect ended, which I loved! It threw us right back into the emotions we were left with in the previous cliffhanger.

In the previous book, it became clear to readers that all of these men started to fall for Lily, just as she was falling for all of them. In Ours To Keep, it now starts to become obvious to the characters that they all are not alone in their feelings. The question is: How would this work? Can the men come to terms with sharing Lily amongst each other? And even more so, does Lily even want to be with them all?

All of the men, and Lily, have their own battles to overcome after the attack Lily suffered from. The physical and mental trauma for Lily, and the immense guilt each man carries as they all blame themselves one way or another for not seeing who the “villain” was earlier on to prevent this.

I love how LS Pullen took the time to develop and show all of the relationships individually. Not just between Lily and the individual men, but also the dynamics between the men themselves. This book has action, angst, happiness, lust, and love. I’ll be vague to avoid spoilers, but there was a great balance between the relationship building and the main plot of everything that has happened to Lily.

I will leave you with one final quote…

“Remember how much I care about you, okay?” - He nods - “Good, because I’m about to f*ck you like I don’t.”

I knew I was going to love this book, the first book in the why choose series had me on the edge of my seat!

Ours to Keep did not disappoint, the character growth carries on in so much more depth.

I couldn't love Lily, Jax, Elliot, River or Tommy anymore if I tried. The boys protective nature, or the spice, or the plot had me gripped and I could not put this book down.

Also, the ending .. hope Avery with all her fiesty personality gets her own book 😍😉

What am I meant to do now this is finished? 😪

This is the second book in the duet and I loved it just as much as the first.
the connection between all of the characters was amazing.
I loved each of the guys equally, even though they are so different - the devotion to Lily was just ‘chefs kiss’.
Elliot and river-holy moly!
Tommy-sweet Tommy, I’m so happy he started coming out of his shell in the end.
Jax-alpha, leader Jax 😍
I love the series connections with l.s Pullens books, we got to see Noah and Caleb again from ‘saved by two.’
really hope we get a Mason/Avery book in the future!

Part 2 in the drama that is Lily's life starts straight back off where book 1 finished.
Stuck in the traumatic situation that's left her beaten and fighting for life with 4 big bad brooding bad boys out for blood!
Seeing these guys who already have an amazing friendship, start to come out of their shell and become back to themselves again was just beautiful!
I really wish we had got more of Tommy's pov though.
Really wanted to sign myself up for having these guys all guarding me that's for sure LOL
Loved every word.

I have been waiting for this since reading the cliffhanger of part one, and I was not disappointed.

I'm not going to give anything away, but its, dark, spicy and you cannot put it down!

Jax, Elliot, Tommy and River's characters have grown in this book and along with Lily they mesh really well together. The emotions between them come across so well, you can feel their protectiveness and devotion to Lily through each sentence.

Absolutely loved it!

I absolutly loved book one and was soo excited for book two. And it did not disapount. I read it in one sitting. I was captivated from page one.

The romance between them feels so real. The romance between Elliot an River is soo good and real. They are made for each other.

There was no speeding over things, nothing was rushed. Absolutly loved it.

After the ending of book one, I was dying to get my hands on this one. And it absolutely did not disappoint. It was soo good. The relationship between Lily, and each of the guys.. but also, the relationship between the guys.. it was beautiful. While this one was more of a slow burn.. the spice it did have.. was perfect. Definitely recommend.

Vulnerability

This is a great ending to the first book. I didn't want to give a lot away, but very happy with the outcome of Richard & George. The way the guys all end up coming out of their shells & able to show their vulnerability is absolutely amazing.

5 stars. I only gave this book 5 instead of 6 because there was just something that wasn't quite there to make it 6 stars. But the duology was definitely a 6-star experience. Loved Lilly and all her men.

It's the second book to a duet.

The book is alright - it's not groundbreaking by any means, but the characters are likable, the story is fast-paced and the socialite and her body guards get the happy ending they fought endlessly for.
