This is a fabulous book of stories. Mostly set in small town Texas, they throw us in to stunning moments in people's lives. All of them give us slices which show us the whole life.
There are a couple set in London, a beautiful one about trying to organise an ofreda for his daughters while recovering from chemo, one about trying to buy a lamp while drunk, both beautiful vignettes.
The story about the schoolteacher who engages with a former student to get revenge on the man who assaulted his daughter is moving and powerful. So are so many of the others.
Just lovely.

A fantastic collection of shorts, that are both intriguing yet relatable even if the subject isn’t necessarily relatable.
