Ian Loome keeps writing entertaining stories. Hell Bent is the fourth adventure with ex CIA assassin Bob Singleton. In this Rogue Warrior series we find Bob trying to keep a low profile since he is supposed to be dead and if not the CIA wants him eliminated. He can't stay to long anyplace and he keeps finding himself in situations where people needs his help. This book is one of the best in the series and there are some great twists that I didn't expect. The characters are as usual great and the fast paced stories include some humor as well. I really enjoy reading these books from a great author. I must thank Netgalley and Inkubator Books for letting me read this advance copy.

I can't say enough good things about this author he writes the best action thrillers that are engaging and edge of your seat that's impossible to put down. I love Bob Singleton he's always getting tangled up in some bad situations even though he only wants to help.

Who am I?

Bob just wants to be left alone to try to figure out who he really is, but trouble seems to find him even when he is doing the right thing. It all started when a drunk man was thrown out of a window of a bar, and no one stopped to help him except Bob.

This was my first Rogue Warrior read, and I learned Bob is a guy who just can't drive by without stopping to help someone in need. Of course, it just happens to be a twisted tangle involving a corrupt cop and local gangs - it can't just be a simple act of kindness for this conflicted soul trying to figure out what to do next with his life.

While the story has a good plot, along with an interesting twist or two, I felt disadvantaged not knowing enough about Bob's past and motivation by starting off with the fourth book in the series. It wasn't until about 2/3 of the way in that I got a better sense of who he is at least in the present. It would have helped to have a little more descriptive language in the form of word pictures throughout to make both the character and the actions in the story more vivid.

With that said, I may just have to go back and start with book #1 to fill in the gaps. Those of you who've read this series from the beginning may find you have all the pieces of the puzzle that I'm missing at this point.

Exciting Twisted Tale!
This story was busy from the start! Dr. Clint Baxter is in the witness protection program, and he has successfully become a doctor. Now he has his sights set on a wonderful doctor who is older than him, but nice! There is just a little problem, his brother comes to town after tracking him down. Then there is this little other problem, who is killing these people and harvesting their organs, with calling stitching them after taking their organs nothing but keeping them alive for a little while. Who is doing this?
Great style of writing, busy going in many directions, and the ending was befitting!
Thank you, Megan L. Bradford, for a great story!
I received a complimentary copy of this story and this is my honest review.

Ian Loome does it again!!

I have had the utmost pleasure in reading his works, from the Bob Singleton series.

Page tuner after epic page tuner. Ian Loome is one of our ‘great authors!’ He is most certainly in my top three.

Hell Bent does NOT disappoint… Bob once again finds himself trying to do the right thing. Loome’s use of epic character development really sets the tone. Many a good message within… Ian Loome takes you on a journey you won’t forget. Once again, a pleasure to read! This is highly recommended- for all ‘action fans’. The story reads at a really nice pace. No spoilers here - simply read and enjoy ! Bang bang!!!…

I cannot wait until the next one!…

Epic!

A really fun read that is easy going and keeps your interest.
Good characters and you will like Bob the hero who goes to help an unfortunate man that then leads him to more and more trouble with the cartel mobsters in town. Luckily for Bob he is well up for it and it isn't what the cartel boss and local bad police conspirator thought was just some guy in the wrong place and the wrong time. Very enjoyable and readable without to many twists or turns to confuse. Just easy going and relaxing good guy bad guy book with one winning the day.
Will read more in the series and glad I picked this one as a freebie but now willing to get others at the price!

This is another entertaining read. This time Bob is working as a delivery driver in Arizona when he comes across a drunk man who was injured. His helpful nature assisting the man results in him getting involved in some gang activities and on the radar of a corrupt cop.

As usual, the pace is frenetic and there's lots of action. There's some twists also especially a surprise towards the end, to round things off nicely. Look forward to seeing where Bob ends up next.

seven stars. Action, murders, gangsters, Nuns and Bob.Bob trying his best to-be he good guy

Bob is staying in Tucson for a while. He is friends with a Nun that is dying. They start trying help a man and his son. The Mexican man is a drunk he saw tossed out of a business and with Bob’s past he couldn’t just leave him there. That starts a fast paced saga of trying to keep Tito and his son alive after a brush with the Cartel boss in Tucson. Lots of violence, murders, and brushes with Nuns.

I found this book to be a little slower than the other books about this character. Here Bob is still having issues with what happened in the last book from Memphis and is slow to get involved. He wants to help but he remembers the last time and what had happened to the people around him. Finally, it is beyond his control and his skills become too much for the people and the book is exciting once again. Good characters and a look into Bob’s mind.

I enjoyed this book as well as the series. A tight written plot full of action, mayhem and humor. Good characters with Bob. as the main character, added to support his role was well done. ...Given arc by Net Galley and Inkubator books, for my voluntary review.

Very fast paced action thriller. It started with a lot of action and kept it going. This was a fast thrilling unpredictable ride. I enjoyed all the characters and Bob always found himself in the middle of trouble. I'm definitely going to have to go back and read the rest in the series.

This was one helluva book. I loved it so much that I went back and bought the first three, just cause I had to know how Bob got here! This is one tough kickass man and I love what he did to the cartel. Really friggin' amazing book. That's it, I've got things to do, like read the first book and I am Hell Bent on that! Enjoy this series. Wow!

this one is the worst of the series

This book was tedious and finishing it felt like a chore. The words “hit his mental nerve” and “knocked the gun out of his hand” are in every single fight scene, of which there are MANY, in the book. The authors version of how a Mexican immigrant speaks is ridiculous, and borderline racist. The whole thing was just bad. Don’t waste your time.

This is a action pack, triller, twist and turns, murder and more. Bob sees a man thrown out a window. Should he help him or walk away? The mexican cartel is dead set on killing him, but what happens when they kill someone else? They just made there worst enemy.

American Noir that doesn’t Suck

Satisfying storyline involving the juiciest North American archetypes. Dangerous but code following Mexican mafiosos, a corrupt detective, fathers who love their sons, clergy who put their difficult pasts behind them, and, of course, Bob Singleton, an ex-CIA operative seeking absolution for his deadly past.

I was able to read this ARC on Netgally and I didn't realize that this was the fourth book in the series. Nevertheless, I was able to read it and didn't feel too lost. The book reads like an action movie and main character who is fearless and deadset on vengeance no matter the cost.

A good read, but not as a standalone book. Bob has a complicated backstory, and it is difficult to follow the references to his past/ previous events in the early parts of the book.

This was my Bob Singleton christening, and I really enjoyed it. Fast paced, with an ex black ops specialist rooting for the little guy against cartels and police corruption. Intricate and surprising plot with great character work, I was hooked.

Bob has trouble staying out of trouble. But he’s now helping people who would otherwise be the forgotten. Bob does a good deed that leads him to a fight with a cartel in Tucson.

Good storyline.

A good storyline that has Bob helping out the brother of mafia/gangsters relations who left the criminal family to bring up his son. A departure that would have cost him his life if Bob had not intervened and continued to play a role in keeping him alive.
