It's unfortunate the cover of this book isn't shown, it is visually stunning. Bunny Williams' home and gardens are a delight to behold and the stories she shares of the history and thought that has gone into her gardens is fascinating. She is such a generous person--opening her gardens and even her studio and entertaining barn to the ticketed public to raise money for good causes. I have had the great pleasure of meeting her on more than one occasion and she is down to earth and incredibly kind. This book is full of beauty and inspiration.
Beautiful pictures! Not exactly what I was expecting though, it had very minimal text. More of a photography-garden book than a narrative- or informational-garden book. The photos are on a mixture within the book of matte and glossy pages. The glossy ones were much more vibrant, but maybe the matte ones were mixed in to save costs? It’s a humongous book!
It has lots of pictures both glossy and matte. Most of the pictures are beautiful. There is very little text. I thought there would be more history of how the gardens evolved. THere are some " chapters' of seasonal stuff but they are brief and not much info. She does write about having garden parties for charities and that her husband can cook or they use a caterer. I was hoping for some detail drawings or notes from her experts on how to and why's and why nots.
I flipped through this lovely book when I bought it but didn’t read it until a year later. The book cover is gorgeous; I’d put it on a buffet and enjoyed seeing it there every time I walked past it. When I finally sat down with the book, I found the inside as beautiful and engaging as the outside. I loved the stories and the mix of color and black & white photos.
Gorgeous! A very heavy book! You will want to display it somewhere accessible to look through the pictures. Time after time Every page is a beautiful colored picture. The photography is amazing! I just can’t describe in words its beauty!
This is a very beautiful, heavy, large coffee table sized book. The photographs are wonderful of her home and her gardens. There is some text and lots of gorgeous photographs.
I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this massive bunch of garbled photos with bland writing depicting how the author's various gardens look/feel to her. I guess she has a following, but I'm not one of the followers.
