What a delightful, uplifting rom com of a book! This was exactly like reading a Hallmark romance movie, but with the addition of very well crafted main characters. Overbaked could have easily been a saccharine story that followed a pattern - big city chocolatier opens shop in small town, meets small town baker, and a rivalry becomes a romance - but the characters were so well developed with their quirks and their flaws, it gave much more depth to this story.
This is a no spice Christian romance, but that doesn't mean it's bland. I laughed out loud several times at the cute banter between the main characters as they try to figure out what they mean to each other.
If you love Hallmark movies, this book is for you!!
