Hatham is a companion book to Jeremy Morang's Guardian War Chronicles. You can definitely enjoy this book as a standalone, but I am glad I read the first book in the series before hand. I think this gave me a much stronger connection to the characters.
This 104-page origin story is a real tearjerker. Following Gethar Willow and his life partner, Hatham, on a weeklong anniversary trip. This book is the tale of a beautiful love that never ends, even after loss. Wonderfully written, Hatham will have a place in my heart forever.
I knew going into this book I was going to cry, but what I didn’t realize was how much I was going to cry. This story broke my heart, and even though I knew part of what was going to happen. The writing is beautiful, and I love Hatham even more!!!
Great writing and easy to consume, this short sci-fi read is full of action and drama as we see in vivid detail the beginning of Gethar Willow's journey through insanity and the motivation behind his first steps towards becoming the infamous character who plays a crucial role in The Surrender Game from The Guardian War Chronicles. Get ready for many many tears as you spend an anxious and life-changing week with Gethar at Truckstop One, and Room 17. But the tears are worth it in the course of the series, and provide an in-depth understanding of one of the most pronounced characters of modern sci-fi in the opinions of those that take a chance on Jeremy Morang's universe (which I believe should be everyone!).
Hatham is a masterpiece. That's about the only way I can sum it up. Jeremy's characters and setting usually immerse you in a page-turner. It's not a long read but it is an impactful one. I can say I get emotional when reading. But very few books have made me cry. This book broke my soul in the best way possible. Hatham and Gethar's unbreakable bond on their journey will have you experiencing every emotion on the spectrum.
This was such a great journey. The world is rich with nuance, lively, and believable. The author created characters for us to root for and get invested in a way that truly deserves the title "space opera". The emotional damage this writer has given me with the stakes of this story, his description, relationships, and the way he presents this rich world is incredible. I cannot wait to read what happens next. If SciFi is your genre... check this book out and give this author your attention!
I’ve spent a good portion of my life immersed in sci-fi worlds, and Morang’s world could stand toe to toe with the best from the genre. Hatham is the first book that I’ve read from this author, and I totally fell in love. The world that Morang has crafted is rich with atmosphere, lovable characters, and full of emotions that will leave you crying in the best of ways. I loved Gethar and this world so much, I’m diving into the next books ASAP! I can’t wait to read more from this author.
This vacation story is not for the faint of heart. This will twist your heart in knots and draw tears from your eyes. Hatham is packed with emotional gut punches thelat will leave you reeling.
Wow this will really make you hold on to your seat while wanting to really smack some sense into main character. Definitely worth reading don't like sci fi? Read it anyways the story is worth every word. You won't regret it.
I love the Guardian War universe! Hatham is beautifully written! So exciting and emotional. It adds special moments to the MC's overall arc in this saga. I can't wait for the sequel.
