1/11/14: Well I guess it is a good thing that I bought this when I did because it was pulled from Amazon after being up for less than a week. It is still up for purchase on her blog but she states on the Your Toxic Sequel Support Group facebook page that she will be pulling it from there after the weekend "until everything is resolved" whatever that means. Anyone know what "everything" is? Is she still having issues with her former publisher? She posted on 1/9/14 on the same facebook page that Devoured #3 Sinjin's book will be out "in the spring". Ummm, I am not going to be holding my breath for that one.
Consumed's goodreads rating is currently 4.13
1/4/13: 2.5 Stars. Well hmmm. It was just, OK. That is about it. I purchased the book from a link on Snow's blog as it was not yet available on Amazon. But, it was an e-pub file and I could not read it on my Kindle. Well after trying for over an hour to convert it I read in the book's facebook fan page that many where having issues and that if you emailed Snow she would send it to you in Kindle format. I did so and luckily Snow was able to send me the book with in 10 minuets of sending my email.
I do have to wonder if this was the book that we waited over a year for. Snow had previously stated that the book was 300+ pages and the goodreads description states that it is 320 pages long. But the published book is a mere 176 pages long. Plus, I am curious to know why a book that was pushed many, many times supposedly for "editing" had so many spelling and grammatical errors. Too many to count. I think that it was rather anticlimactic after all the drama with the wait of being published. I saw Lucas's "secret" coming a mile away and figured that was what it was all along and even that other characters where involved the way they where. I think that I even said this is what it had to be in one of the discussion groups. The end also felt rushed. We literally don't find out the "big secret" until 86% and then it feels like filler to the end since we all knew that it would have a HEA. I definitely am wondering if this is the book that she has been sitting on for over a year as I am not convinced, especially after reading it, that she didn't only finish writing it within the last couple of weeks. Also, I can't put my finger on it right now and will have to dig through some of the other books I have read but is reads very similar to something I have already read. I am not calling her a plagiarist at all, this just feels so familiar. Maybe it is just another rock star story, wash, rinse and repeat. I think I am almost as anxious to see what others say about the book and how many people actually do buy it and read it. The current goodreads rating is 4.16
I am hoping that Snow uses this as a lesson in the future when it comes to putting her books out there. This has been a hot mess and it was all her doing.
1/2/14: Well finally published and am getting to read. If I wasn't so excited to find out the conclusion I might have given up. But I guess better 1 year and 1 week late than never.
12/31/13: Well Christmas came and went and all we got of this book was the first 2 chapters on her blog. I guess "the plan" just didn't work out. Surprised? No, how could I be? Now the day is tick, tick, ticking out of time and still no Lucas as promised. And no official word from Snow on her blog or facebook. Again, surprised? No, how could be? I didn't even bother with reading the 1st two chapters - I want the whole f'n book! But alas, I have a strong feeling that the 19th release date will come and go with no book and no word from Snow except excuses for not publishing and possibly yet another projected release date by the fabled author who cried publish.
12/22/12: Whaaaa? Snow responded "that's the plan" to a follower's post on facebook yesterday asking if Consumed would be published before Christmas. I think that she is going for the record on how many times one author can change the release date of a book - She is up to 18. But, she has made no official postings, either on her blog or facebook, regarding the move up of expected publishing. I will say it again - I will believe it when it shows up on my Kindle.
12/9/13: O' Lookie! We have an update on the blog-
Hi everyone! I know there hasn't been an update since late November, so I wanted to make a quick post and let everyone know that I'm working hard to get everything resolved so you can still get Consumed this year (that's not a promise but me being very, very hopeful).
Goodreads has December 31, 2013 listed as the new release date. Really, that is only 371 days from the original release date and the 17th posted release date. Sorry for the snark but I hope that no one's New Year's Resolution is to have Lucas on the 1st even though she is very, very hopeful. Though we can dream about it......
12/2/13: Crickets on Snow's end, no update since 11/20/13. Still no Lucas. But I do know she is behind 4 episodes on the Walking Dead because she posted it on facebook. Has anyone even been lucky enough to receive and ARC copy? She continues to not approve comments to entries on her blog and I find it difficult to believe that no one has tried to leave a comment. Hmmmm.
OK, so here is a recap of "release dates"

June 4, 2014
The last several dates obtained from her blog, facebook page and Amazon.
11/26/13: If I wasn't so desperate to find out the conclusion of the cliffhanger this would almost be comical. This is now posted above here on goodreads- "publication: June 3rd 2014 by Self-Published" I am beginning to wonder if this book actually exists.
1/24/13: Surprise, surprise, still no Lucas. And so much for keeping her fans updated with "frequent updates". No blog posts since the 20th in which she stated that she is still working on getting the rights back and that it was taking longer than expected. I think that this shows her naivety in the whole process of canceling a contract with a major publisher. I also find it interesting that there are no "comments" to her blog posts since 10/31/13. She has to approve every comment and you know that there are people trying to comment so why is she not allowing it? I am also not understanding why people are so quick to lay blame on her soon to be former publisher. I honestly think that the blame lies with Snow herself. I just can't see why Touchstone would postpone over and over a book that was already complete when they signed her in January of this year. It just doesn't make financial since for them to postpone over and over and over all the while pissing readers off. There had to be some reason on Snow's end. I am now thinking that she didn't start the process of reclaiming the rights to the book until the end of October. And if this is correct, it further shows how naïve she really is. Somebody said that though she has not posted another post on facebook she did respond with a comment to someone's question about a release date. Evidentially she is now saying that she is SURE that she will have it published by the end of the month. I defiantly would put any money on that since the end of the month is only 6 days away. But that is pretty par for the course for her - she is either overly optimistic or extremely evasive about the release when it is asked.
I also want to know why it says here on goodreads "Published November 2013 by Self-Published (first published September 17th 2013)". Uh, I thought that was the whole issue with people being pissed off because it HAD NOT been published much less a 1st printing on September 17.
11/18/13: Well despite saying to stay tuned to her blog for more frequent updates over the weekend, nothing further was posted. Amazon's page for Consumed says that it is "currently unavailable". I really can't tell if my pre-order was canceled. It is still showing up under my open orders but does not say "pre-ordered" like the others do. B&N has only the paperback for pre-order with a release date of 4/1/14. It has a price of $9.87. It has been a long time since I have bought a dead tree book but that seems like a lot. This goodread's page states "Published November 2013 by Self-Published (first published September 17th 2013)". I am thinking NOT! Her facebook page shows that she has a new cover for it though. Call me crazy but I personally think that the old cover was just fine and would rather her publish the book instead of developing new covers.......
11/16/13: Well, "this week" has come to an end and Snow has yet to go live with Consumed as promised. Am I surprised? No. Today she posted on her blog as an edit of her 11/10 post: "EDITED SATURDAY @6:42 AM: Quick Update: Working my hardest to get this book LIVE ASAP. Stay tuned for more frequent updates over this weekend, guys.". Quit saying that it is going live ASAP and making promises you can not honor. Do you not see, by being the author that called publish too many times, you are pissing readers off? She would be better off by just saying "listen guys, I am doing my best to get this book published but I have no way of knowing when that will be.".
11/13/13: Well Lucas is still a no-show. I also just noticed that the paperback version on Amazon states that it will be released on 4/1/14. What is up with that? Kindle version still states auto delivery on 6/1/14.
11/10/13 12:38pm: What did I tell ya. So, she just responded on facebook in response to someone else's post asking about the Amazon preorder link for the book. She states "That won't be the link that the book will be available from once it goes live this week". And then at 5am she made a blog post that says "And the final update before posting LIVE!" saying that it "will be going live this week". So what happened to the book releasing on Sunday (today)? It is now "this week"? Why does she keep giving dates if she doesn't know when she will legally be able to release it? So, with this change today it will be 12 different stated release dates. It is obvious that she is clueless in regards to the situation. Honestly, I need to just get over it, it has lost it's shine. It will be out when it is out. Maybe.
11/10/13 12:50am: *Tapping Foot* I know that it is only 50 minuets into the 10th but I don't have a good feeling about this book actually coming out today. But, can anyone blame me? We are sitting at 289 days since the book was supposed to be released. She has said absolutely nothing on her blog since the 4th and on facebook since the 7th. I know I am being overly dramatic about this book but damn, I NEED TO KNOW WHAT SECRET HE IS HIDING! Can anyone even remember what Devoured was about? Snow needs to shit or get off the pot, quit stringing your readers along - the ones you still have because by reading the goodreads comments they are dwindling with each passing faux "release day" you post. Hopefully I will be eating my words later today!
11/8/13: I was wondering. I know that it might be more difficult to get Amazon to change the release date from 6/3/14 to her "current" release date but why does it say 6/4/13 here on goodreads? Are those dates not put in by the author?
11/7/13: Guess what! We have the 11th release date for Consumed! November 10th. Once again not holding my breath.
11/4/13: SURPRISE! No, not really. Well the weekend came and went and still no Lucas. Thinking that Amazon's 6/14 release date is true, lol. Emily posted on her blog this afternoon that the book is not yet LIVE but I promise that as soon as I am allowed to make it available to you I will, blah, blah, blah. There's unfortunately quite a bit of red tape involved with taking the rights to the book back, blah, blah, blah. At least she didn't say the book will definitely be out on xyz date. I am almost willing to bet that my updates will be longer than the actual review for the book if and when it comes out, lol.
11/3/13: Emily posted on facebook this morning that there was no new news and that when she could move forward she would let everyone know. Why can't she just say that she does not know when she will publish this book? Really, I think that her readers, especially the ones that pre-ordered this book, would respect her more for her honesty. Quit putting up dates or saying tomorrow, this weekend, etc if you really don't know!
11/1/13: Whatever. I am not holding my breath that it will come this weekend. Snow has listed the following dates for her release of this book:
December 25, 2012
January 15, 2013
Unknown release date was posted in January of 2013
Summer 2013
July 16, 2013
September 17, 2013
October 1,2013
October 15,2013
November 1, 2013
Well, it is November 1st and she is stating that she is "very hopeful" that she can put it up this weekend. Honestly this is just ridiculous and unprofessional whether it is Snow or her publisher stringing readers along for almost a year. BIG FAIL!
10/23/13: Is anyone holding their breath for November 1st? I'm not. If it got pushed AGAIN, after being pushed a whopping 6 times, it would not surprise me in the least. And with no word from her publishing company or Snow herself, I am thinking that she is doing a disservice to her readers. I would be curious to know how many people have cancelled their pre-orders.
9/20/13: UGGGGGG!
So over the wait! Why, even taking into consideration that it was picked up by a publisher, did this book need a FULL YEAR to be released after the original release date? And why, just DAYS before the latest release date did it get pushed back another month? I think that it is totally awesome that so many self published writers are getting picked up by publishing companies but they are going to have to start taking their readers into consideration with the never ending delays - cause they will end up loosing them. Really? A full year? This book better be gold plated!
11/11/13: UGGGG! BUMMER!
