This is a pen name for Jill Myles.

Jill Myles has been an incurable romantic since childhood. She reads all the 'naughty parts' of books first, looks for a dirty joke in just about everything, and thinks to this day that the Little House on the Prairie books should have been steamier.

After devouring hundreds of paperback romances, mythology books, and archaeological tomes, she decided to write a few books of her own - stories with a wild adventure, sharp banter, and lots of super-sexy situations. She prefers her heroes alpha and half-dressed, her heroines witty, and she loves nothing more than watching them overcome adversity to fall into bed together.

I absolutely am besotted♥ with this book and adore this author! Where has Jessica Clare been hiding?!

What I loved about this book was just that it’s the all around “feel good” book, you know? It’s the perfect book to take with you on a weekend vacay; the perfect book to snuggle up with on a stormy day; and just a great, *great* read. I swear, her pages are the stuff of Hershey’s Kisses, because you can’t just stop at one!

This book is the perfect blend between warm-hearted and sexy. Plus it’ll encourage you to wear your sexiest lingerie the next time you’ll know you’re going to be in an elevator. ;)

Midwestern waitress, Brontë Dawson, comes face to face the deliciously gorgeous Logan Hawkins. Only she doesn’t know that he’s the Logan Hawkins.

 photo sean-opry-jon-kortajarena-zara-fall-winter-2012-campaign8.jpg

As in powerful, hard-driven, billionaire ♦Logan Hawkins♦.

Because, well, when you’re trapped in an elevator during a hurricane while on what was supposed to be a dream vacation… details like that tend to slip.

Especially when she mistakes him to be just the manager of the hell-hole/hotel she’s staying in. And as they’re trapped in an elevator while everyone has seemed to have already evacuated the island… things get interesting.

Because Logan never corrects her when she calls him the manager. He doesn’t want her to know that he’s actually the new owner of the establishment and that he has more money than he can possibly spend in three lifetimes.

Because he knows that when most women doodle their names next to his; all they see is money, new shoes with red soles, Alexander McQueen dresses, and a lifestyle living in opulent luxury.

So when Brontë does finds out, she doesn’t know what to think. Because there’s no way in the *world* a man like that can be interested in a small-town, t-shirt-wearing girl such as herself. And she’s not interested in sticking around just long enough for him to figure that out.

But if Logan Hawkins loves anything… it’s a challenge. So when the sexy, giggles-when-she’s-nervous Brontë says thank-you for what she thought was just an island fling… he follows her with the determination of showing her that she’s not like any woman he’s ever come across. And he’s not ready to let her go.

Even if he has to buy the goddamn diner she works at just to fuckin’ talk to her.

“Why me?”

“Because you treat me like a regular guy,” he told her. “Because you make me smile. Because you light up when you find a perfect quote for the situation, and I love to see that. Because you’re smart and funny and down-to-earth, and that’s a rare combination in a pretty woman. Because you thought I was no one, and you still took your top off to swim naked with me.”

With a reason like that, what girl could resist? So Brontë takes him up on his offer to go to New York City with him, where he lives. Just to humor him, of course. Not because she’s completely attracted to and entirely fascinated by him. Because that would just be plain-out ridiculous.

However… while with Logan, she finds herself falling head over heals in love with him. And even though she knows he could never love her back…

 photo 10a9e77dc56e9c951856761b4f64da4c.jpg

She was going to do this. They were going to do this. She was going to have a ridiculous, exciting, passionate fling with a man. Not just any man. Gorgeous, seriously, totally alpha Logan Hawkings, who made her toes curl every time she looked at him. Who kissed like he invented it.

What could go wrong, right?

Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart whispers back.

Brontë, a waitress in Kansas City, doesn't have much money on her hands - so she's thrilled when she wins a free vacation to an island resort, Seaturtle Cay, from a radio station. Even if her traveling companion is highly inconsiderate and annoying, and the place looks a little rundown. But the odds aren't in her favor. A hurricane hits the resort when she's staying there, and while helping her absentminded and self-centered roommate find her passport, Brontë gets stranded in an elevator when the power shuts off.

But fortunately for her, she's not trapped alone.

Enter Logan Hawkings.

Ultra-rich and insanely good-looking billionaire, Logan isn't looking for a relationship of any sort after some ugly drama with his almost-fiancée that left him hurt and wary. But when he meets Brontë, he's blown away by her kindness and openness. What starts out as an island fling ends abruptly, only to be turned into something more.

I really really liked Brontë. I liked that she didn't let Logan and his domineering personality walk all over her. I liked that she was a very compassionate and genuine person. I liked that she was loyal to her friends and would do anything for them. I liked that she always tried to have a positive outlook on life and the way she quoted philosophers so much in conversation was an adorable quirk that made me happy.

And Logan himself wasn't my great love or anything, but I enjoyed seeing him mellowed out by Brontë. He treated her like a princess and when he screwed things up he boldly took responsibility.

"I will be the most ruthless man in the world as long as I can have you at my side and in my bed. You’re the only thing that matters. I love you.”

The only complaint I have is that there were some inconsistencies in grammar and setting — for example, once they made love without a condom because she was on the pill but at the end of that scene he throws a condom away, which confused me. But ultimately, this was a feel-good contemporary romance and my first taste of Jessica Clare which definitely left me wanting more. I'm so excited to start the next book in this series!

ALSO: the last few lines and how they tied in to the story were so cute !!!!

“Every heart sings a song incomplete, until another heart whispers back.” –Plato.

I always love reading Jessica Clare’s books and I know I can count on her to deliver a captivating and entertaining story. And this first installment in Billionaire Boys Club series didn't disappoint. I was ultimately pleased with almost everything about it.

This is a love story of Logan Hawkings and Brontë Dawson, two completely different people from a totally different world who were brought together by a natural disaster.

Brontë Dawson won a free trip for two to Seaturtle Island through her local radio station. None of her friends in Kansas City were available to come with her so she brought her coworker along instead. Unexpectedly, the hurricane was going to directly hit the resort they were staying at. When both of them were ready to get on the evacuation bus, her friend couldn’t find her passport. Brontë went back up to their room and checked, but the passport wasn’t in the room, so she headed down the hall to the elevator. There was a man in a suit stood at the back of the elevator when she stepped inside. On their way down to the lobby, the power suddenly went off, the elevator came to a halt, and she was trapped in complete darkness with a stranger.

After waiting several hours for help, they became aware of the fact that there was no one came looking for them, so a man who introduced himself as Logan Hawkings, the one she assumed to be the resort manager, decided to force open the elevator door. They finally got out safely, but the hurricane already arrived and the lobby was flooding with water. So, they had to go to the stairwell—the only safe place in the building.

Brontë found that she liked being around Logan a lot even if it was only a short period of time of knowing each other. She felt content, protected, and safe with him. He took care of her, paid attention to her needs, and most of all, he made her feel butterflies.

Billionaire Logan Hawkings got tired of women throwing themselves at him because of his money. When he went to Seaturtle Island to check the rundown resort that he’d just bought, he certainly didn’t expect to be stranded in the hurricane with a gorgeous waitress who quoted ancient philosophy to him. Something about Brontë intrigued him—especially since she didn’t seem to care whether he was rich or poor. She thought he was the manager of this resort, but even so, she still liked him. He’d never felt this kind of happiness before—just to be normal Logan. And as he spent more time with her, he became uncontrollably attracted to her.

Logan and Brontë were thrown together by circumstances beyond their control, sticking together in the dark stairwell, waiting for rescue. But as inconvenient as it was, both of them really enjoyed each other’s company and they even thanked Hurricane Latonya for bringing them together.

However, after they were rescued by one of Logan’s billionaire friends, Brontë found out who he really was. She felt so stupid that she’d believed every lie he told her. She was furious with him, but even angrier at herself, so she ran away from him. And when he called her later, she refused to talk to him and then hung up on him.

But Logan was a man who always got what he wanted and “NO” wasn’t a word in his dictionary. He was a man on a mission and he would do everything possible to get her back into his life again. And this time, he would never let her go.

As usual, you can't go wrong with Jessica Clare's smoking hot sex scenes. The heat here was literally off the charts! I loved the chemistry between Logan and Brontë. Despite the contrast in their personalities, they really made a perfect couple. I couldn’t stop smiling when seeing them together, yet it was sad seeing them apart. I also loved the friendship between all six members of this secret society of billionaires. There was a strong bond between them, I could see, and how they supported and cared about one another made me want to know more about them.

Much as I wanted to give this book 5 stars, I had to reduce one due to Brontë’s idea of several dates before getting back together, which happened in the last quarter of the story. It somehow drove me crazy, and honestly, I felt more irritated than happy.

Nevertheless, the epilogue really brightened up my day. I felt so much joy reading this book.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read. It certainly did wow me. Furthermore, Logan’s friends have already caught my attention, so now I can hardly wait to get to their books!

"Why me? You can have anyone you want. Why waste your time with a waitress from Kansas City?"

"Because you treat me like a regular guy. Because you make me smile. Because you light up when you find a perfect quote for the situation, and I love to see that. Because you're smart and funny and down-to-earth, and that's a rare combination in a pretty woman. Because you thought I was no one, and you still took your top off to swim naked with me."

Why the hell am I just reading this series now? I've had this first book on my TBR for ages.

I think I was fooled by the title. The blurb intrigued me, but I thought..."another billionaire book" for the pile.

This is NOT just another billionaire book!

The blurb does a fantastic job of giving you the basic rundown of what the book is about, so I won't touch on that. But what I will give you are all the awesome things that you get with this book.

Effortless Writing. The story just flows. The kind of flow where you can't put the book down. You're drawn into the story and completely absorbed in it...and the next thing you know, you're halfway done. If it weren't for a little thing called sleep, I would have easily read this in one sitting. It's just easy and smooth storytelling.

Great heroine. I loved Bronte. She was no damsel in distress, princess waiting to be rescued or someone who needed a man to take care of her. She didn't play games. She didn't whine. She was smart, funny, honest and damn likable. And I loved her passion for philosophy. The ongoing banter with philosophical quotes was really great. There were a couple of instances where she could have fell into the TSTL heroine trap, but nope...she addressed her issues head on.

Swoony leading man. When Logan let his guard down and was able to just be "Logan" and not "Logan and his wallet," it was so easy to fall for his charm. He was sweet, caring, protective, passionate and hot. Yes, he had moments of arrogance. Yes, he had moments where he was a bit pushy. But he wasn't overly aggressive or domineering in a way that screams "cookie-cutter billionaire." Underneath his distrust and apprehension, was just a man who wanted to be loved for the man he was and not for his bank account. He makes a couple of mistakes along the way, but he doesn't let his pride get in the way of apologizing when he realizes those mistakes.

Quality Steam. Grade A stuff here, folks. It's really well written. The scenes are vivid and passionate and melt your kindle hot! The pacing is perfect...from the initiating kiss, to the delicious foreplay, to the sensual build, to the satisfying conclusion....

An Intriguing Brotherhood. Logan and his band of big bank accounts has definitely piqued my interest in the coming books. Hunter (the scarred and broody loner), Griffin (the Aristocrat), Cade (the philanthropist and boy scout), Jonathan (the easy going adventurer) and Reece (the playboy) each have their role in the brotherhood and each have intrigued me with their possible story and background. And in case you were wondering...Logan was the serious one.

If you're like me and have been fooled by the simple and kinda cheesy title, reconsider! Don't let this book pass you by.

This is my first Jessica Clare book and it certainly won't be my last as I'm off to jump into the next one in this series....Hunter's book. A gruff, broody and scarred loner....I'm already giddy with anticipation!

Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart whispers back.

So, this book starts when Bronte and Logan get stuck in an elevator during a storm in a resort in Bahamas. The conditions are awful and they have to help each other in order to being rescued for a few days. And when two people are alone in extreme conditions, well, things are bound to happen, especially when you have to completely rely on the other person.
But the thing is, it all started with a lie. Bronte believes Logan is the hotel manager, but he is in fact a billionaire and he was there assessing his new investment. And if things are perfect when you are in a desert island, they will be a bit more difficult in the real world when lies aren’t welcome.

Rating: 3 stars.
Storyline: Unoriginal. Another billionaire story that everyone knows where it’s going. But it was enjoyable and with some nice twists that made it less predictable.
Writing Style: Dual POV, third person. Engaging writing and a quick and nice reading.
Character Development: They’re both likeable and sweet. Minor annoyances with both of them but nothing extremely bad. Some supportive characters made a nice opening to the next book and I’m now pretty curious to read it.
Steam: Some heated moments.

Just imagine being stranded on an exotic island, nobody around except one other castaway....who happens to be a VERY sexy man named Logan Hawkings. This hurricane nightmare could turn into quite the fantasy, huh?

Enter the story of waitress Bronte Dawson and billionaire Logan Hawkings. Both are stranded on an island in the Bahamas after being left behind- locked in the elevator with a power out. Bronte is scared....nervous giggle and all. Who is this dashing man- ah, he must be the "hotel manager" with his fancy suit and badge. Well, the situation doesn't seem that bad, all things considered. Bronte and Logan manage to pry the elevator open, find food, water, and dry sleeping conditions until help hopefully arrives. And they also manage to find other fun things to do with their spare time......LIKE SKINNY DIPPING (oh, and some pretty hot sex). Bronte is fun and genuine and Logan is just happy to find a person who enjoys his company for just that, his company and not his wallet. He's just going to keep this farce up as long as possible- if she thinks he's the manager, so be it.. It's only when his buddy Jonathan's helicopter comes to rescue them that it's revealed he's not an average Joe. Bronte is hurt he lied to her. Why say he's the manager when he's the owner of the place? Well, chock this experience up to an island fling. She's out of here! Back to her waitressing job and boring life.....

My Logan-
 photo 608eba2ef5256e2f3c0ae3409e5e2081_zps164ee2e9.jpg

Logan cannot believe Bronte sneaks out. He's completely hooked on her. The nights they spent together on that island were the first he's every experienced of true pleasure.....not some show to get into his bank account. Bronte is the real deal and she's gone. Well, it won't take him long to find her and get her back. He loves a challenge and never takes no for an answer.

SEXY BILLIONAIRE- check
WEAK, POOR HEROINE- check
ONE LOOK, GOTTA HAVE HER- check
RUNNING SCARED- check
WALKS AWAY FROM LIFE AS SHE KNOWS IT- check

We've seen this before. It's the typical uber rich alpha falls for meek "nobody" and has gotta have her. He does whatever it takes to get her...blah blah. The book was good. The scenes really well played out. It had a lot of heat and a lot of angst. It's a storyline I'm getting a bit bored with but it still sucks me in. Bronte has a degree in Philosophy and the use of philosophical quotes throughout the book was really awesome. Loved that! She seemed to have a quote for everything. Logan loved that too about her...not just some ditsy model he's used to having on his arm.

What made this NOT a five star read for me? The storyline that we've seen so much post FSoG (although the whole island story was very cool and different but wish it'd lasted longer) and I felt Bronte's story was rather underdeveloped. When Logan finds her back home, he convinces her to literally pick up and leave with only the clothes on her back. The rest of the book moves forward from there. Does she not have family or friends that would worry? How about her mail? Her bills being paid? Maybe it's my gotta have "all ducks in a row" mentality but I just kept thinking "What about her life she literally walked away from? Did her plants get watered? Oh, her poor plants!" There was no mention of her life back home. It just ceased to exist.

I read this in a day. That means it's a good book. It's hard to put down. It was sexy and I was swept away with everything Logan. He's a man not used to trust. He's been burned before....But Bronte is like no other. It just took some huge mistakes to realize this. Now to get her back..... I look forward to the rest of the Billionaire Boy's Club characters' books. I can see the set up for Hunter's story next. I want Griffin's story PRONTO!

Bronte Dawson doesn't live above her means, she is a small town waitress who wins a "dream vacation" at a private island resort, her dream vacation turns into a nightmare when she ends up stranded in an elevator in the middle of a hurricane with a complete stranger Logan Hawkings. Bronte thinks Logan is the manager of the hotel and finds some comfort that she's not alone.

 photo PicsArt_1434133997616_zpsp4sprix5.jpg

Logan is gun shy when meeting women, he's billionaire and tired of women who are after his bank balance and not him as a man. He soon realizes that Bronte has no clue who he is, and he finds himself giving into his attraction to the quirky waitress he's trapped with, who quotes ancient philosophy.

"Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart whispers back". ~ Pluto

Their fun, intimate island experience comes to a screeching halt once rescued and Bronte finds out Logan deceived her. Logan is willing to fight for Bronte, but he's not used to dealing with woman who are independent and find his wealth uncomfortable, Bronte holds her own and wants nothing from him other than for him to just be him. This was a fun read, but I must say the first half of the book was more enjoyable, after they were rescued and returned home....Bronte kind of bugged me about his wealth and her aversion to it.

All in all an enjoyable read, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the "Billionaire" boys books!!

* Narrated by Jillian Macie who does a great job but has a bit of trouble with male voices however; it's not enough to detour me from listening to the rest of the series!!!

This book was just ok to me. I liked Logan and Bronte and they were sweet together, but I wasn't convinced she was his "one". First off I got tired of hearing how he was used to dating only models, ballerinas, etc. Also I didn't need to know that a Ukranian ballerina had been his most skilled lover and that info was given right after his first time with the h. But the biggest problem was his ex fiancée. Of course she was gorgeous and their relationship was fine until she refused to sign a prenup. We are told this over and over- how he was blindsided when she wouldn't sign it and he wouldn't open himself up to that hurt again. So he obviously loved her enough to propose and would be married to her if she had signed the prenup. How does that make the h special? Then it seems like he only wants to stay with the h because she doesn't want his money. Even the h says something like "he wants me because I'm not like Danica"- the ex. Not a super convincing love story. Safety gang safe

Mild spoilers

Aside from the premise, nothing about this book worked for me. And even the premise got mangled with a careless and unbelievable set-up. Maybe in the 70s a hurricane could have taken a small island resort by surprise, forcing a hurried full evacuation. But in 2013 with sophisticated weather predication tools, it just wouldn't happen. The resort hotel was 20 stories tall so it must have been steel and concrete and, therefore, a safe place to shelter in even a category 4 hurricane. The ridiculousness of them being "stranded" was too much.

The hero and heroine are both lazily conceived with trite motivations for resisting a real relationship. He's bitter and cynical following a broken engagement with a devious gold-digger named Danica. (Would have been more interesting had it been Danica Patrick but no. Just Danica the Destroyer of Dreams.) Oddly, it's never fully explained how Lucas has become a billionaire at the tender age of 29. I'm sure Mark Zuckerberg would be as interested as me to learn how this feat was accomplished. Bronte is an underemployed Philosophy major with Daddy issues. She shows some promise of being an interesting character but once she flies to NYC to continue the affair, she becomes a bad cliche. At this point, I should have quit reading and flagged this as DNF but I foolishly didn't.

The book goes on and on and on. Long, non-sexy sex scenes. (I particularly like the one where Bronte doesn't have any condoms and tells him she's on the pill and to proceed without, much to his delight. After the bonking is done, he then rolls off the condom. Pretty clever trick there, Mr Copperfield!). There is, of course, plenty of sequel baiting for the next billionaire to get his lust on, a few unconvincing grovel scenes, some lame attempts at romantic wooing until finally (YAY) we get to the HEA and pointless epilogue.

So in conclusion: Yuck

I am so done with this book.

Logan is an horrible person. The author slaps us with his emotional baggage ALL THE TIME in an effort to win sympathy for this bastard but all she succeeds in doing is annoying me.

Bronte (what kind of name is that?) can't seem to get it straight that the real problem between them is that he is a dismissive asshole. He is always lying to her about his life and treats her awful.

The entire story is predictable and written in such boring way.

Absolutely wonderful read!

We are introduced to Logan Hawkings who comes from old money is a successful businessman and is also the founder of a secret society, a Brotherhood. A group of men who met in college and pledged themselves and promised to be there for one another. They basically have each others backs, be it personal or business, they help each other out. During one of their meetings Logan is told about an island in the Bahamas that might be a good investment, ever the business man Logan decides to fly out and have a look.

Okay so the whole brothehood thing had me a little confused but I'll explain why closer to the end.

Then we have Brontë a down and out waitress who has a wins a trip to the island. When they get there (seperately) its obvious that the trip is a disaster. When a hurricane blows through the island and Logan and Brontë are left behind during an evacuation, they realize that they only have each other to rely on. They are immediately drawn to each other and give in to their attraction.

After a torrid few nights stranded on the island they're finally rescued. But after only a few moments Brontë realises that Logan has been lying to her. She immediately wants nothing to do with him and tries to leave. But Logan being the man that he is wont let her and she finally gives in.

As their relationship grows and becomes more intense, their insecurities start getting in the way. Logan is afraid of rejection and is also afraid that Brontë isn't being honest with him. Brontë feels unworthy and pushes him away because of it.

Their loving making is hot but you can literally feel the love even though they try to deny it. Brontë was cute but I sometimes found her giggling and constant quoting of Greek philosophers annoying. Logan was great, an alpha male of course, I wouldn't have it any other way. The secret society he'd founded was a bit juvenile though, a bunch of guys playing poker smoking cigars, sharing business advice and they can't tell anyone about it??? So minus one star for that!

But otherwise it was quite good, I enjoyed it. Logan and Brontë had their happy ending and there was even a hint of a budding relationship with two of the other characters. So I definitely want to read the next book!!!

Overall this book was above average but I will say it seemed really farfetched for the first maybe 40%. Definitely fantasy.

I liked how Bronte didn’t bow to Logan’s billionaire status and she held him accountable for his actions or maybe lack-there-of. On the other side, I did NOT like that she allowed her travel mate to treat her like crap and then when she returned back home she still did not confront that horrible girl.

There were parts I liked and parts I didn’t so maybe it was just a bit better than “MEH”.

Logan was the picture perfect example of hot, arrogant and sexy billionaire. While this story was chock full of cliches it still had me engrossed and happy. Logan fell hard and had to learn that love couldn't be bought.. And that he was more then his money. Bronte learned that she was worth more than her job description. Two stubborn souls who just fit. I absolutely want to jump into Hunters story now. I'm a big sucker for Beauty and the Beast love stories.
I definitely plan to read more in this series. Hopefully all will fit my taste preference.

I read Stranded with a Billionaire and I found it very entertaining. From the very beginning as Bronte Dawson was cursing her bad luck being stranded in an elevator during a hurricane. Her elevator mate is a handsome man that she assumes is the manager of the hotel. So much for the perfect vacation she won. She was a waitress from the mid west and this was supposed to be the end all be all vacation. This evacuation of the hotel was not doing it for her.

The Manager Logan Hawkings was really good looking yet rather distant at first. Bronte did not like his customer service skills at all. While they were stuck in the empty hotel they realized that they did have quite the chemistry. Soon they talk themselves into an abandoned island fling.

When Bronte finds out days later that he is not the manager, but a billionaire that owns the island, she is thrown for a loop. She is not sure how she feels about this and she runs away.

This begins a chase that covers several cities. Once Logan finds her he needs a way to contact her. After all that, Bronte has to work through her mistrust of him and decides to see if they can find a common ground. There are many funny moments during this book. Bronte did bring out the humor in Logan with her philosophy sayings and ancient quotes.

The frustration that Bronte and Logan faced while trying to find this common ground was strong for them both. She did not exactly want to end up like Danica (Logan's ex) had helpfully explained to Bronte what Logan looked for in a woman. Which made Bronte even more mistrustful.

The turn of events where Bronte took the upper hand was great. It was wonderful to see Logan step up and meet her challenge. He did it beautifully. The book was sexy and fun and it was a very good read. It also made me want to know more about Hunter Buchanan. I am hoping his story is soon to be told! I am ready to read that one next.

Cute story. Good but not great. Bronte was a tad naive, and a "runner " ( as in when conflicts occur, she runs away ). There were a couple small plot issues that were glossed over Logan never warmed up for me, he always felt a little stiff and cold. Now, what I am super excited about is the next book. Gretchen really stole she show for me. Loved her character.

Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart whispers back.

This is a book i accidentally stumbled across while searching for another book! I had never heard of Jessica Clare and i was shocked to find out that she is also Jessica Sims and Jill Myles! Not quite sure why three different names are needed but i won't complain because although i haven't read anything by her as Jill Myles, i HAVE read her PNR series as Jessica Sims and enjoyed those, and i also really liked Stranded with a Billionaire.

The Billionaire Boys Club series is about 6 friends (all men) who met in college and have become extremely successful. They've created a secret club where they meet every week to discuss current and future business ventures over poker. They all have different personalities, different occupations and different backgrounds, but the one thing they have in common is that they're all billionaires. Logan, the "H" in this book, is the "leader" of the pack. He decides to take a trip to an island/resort that he's considering purchasing. While he's there, the resort ends up being evacuated because a hurricane is heading right towards the island. On his way to leaving the hotel he ends up getting trapped in an elevator with a woman when the power goes out. This would be Bronte, the "h", a philosopher quoting waitress from Kansas, Missouri. She is at this resort because she won the trip from a radio station giveaway. Needless to say, these two were complete opposites, in personality and social standing, but when you're put in a life and death situation and you're all each other has, all sorts of things can happen! ;)

I really liked the premise behind this story, the whole being stranded together in a hurricane. Logan was very much a jaded, stick up his ass grump, he was extremely skeptical of pretty much all women believing they only wanted him for his money and he did have a legitimate reason for feeling that way, but Bronte is different and it doesn't take him long to figure that out. The entire book does NOT take place during a hurricane, they DO end up back in civilization and that's where the real work begins for them, as Bronte soon comes to realize that Logan Hawking isn't exactly who she thought he was while trapped on the island.

There was some emotional drama, of course, but nothing over the top and there were quite a few good steamy scenes (more than what is in Jessica Sim's PNR series). Overall, a cute and enjoyable contemporary romance. I will definitely be reading the next book, Beauty and the Billionaire, Gretchen and Hunter's story and i'm looking forward to future books for the rest of the guys.

It's a good fic for what it is. It's a little spicier than one of the Harlequin Romance style books. One warning - do not under any circumstances try the AUDIO. Jillian Macie is one of the worst female narrators out there. I SAID WHAT I SAID!!

Bronte (waitress, literary graduate) wins a tropical island vacation, and so far it's been a total bust. When a hurricane hits and the hotel starts evacuating guests, Bronte has to head back to the room to look for her annoying friend's lost passport. That results in her being trapped in an elevator with who she assumes is the hotel manager, Logan (billionaire, member of secret billionaire society), when a hurricane hits. Stuck on an island all alone leads to some fun and sweet times, and then some hot sex. Their secluded time together on the island is actually really sweet and fun. Unfortunately, when Logan's identity is revealed, Bronte doesn't take the news well at all and heads home. What does a billionaire do when he can't have the lady he wants?? He uses his billions to make it happen, whether she likes it or not!!! But like most billionaire bad boys, he acts like a total ass and Bronte doesn't put up with his shit!! Yada yada, more billionaires are introduced, Logan learns some lessons, Bronte makes friends, and a HEA.

The story is sweet and there's some good nookie. I wish they hadn't used so many damn condoms.
One thing I def appreciated is that Bronte actually puts him in his place every single time.

Things that kept it from a 5, I didn't feel he really learned the lesson he should have. He'd judged her for being a waitress and thought she should just give up everything because he had money and she didn't. Something just didn't click with his groveling.

Plus, at the very beginning of the book, Bronte had taken her "friend" with her on the vaca and that girl was AWFUL. Bronte didn't put up with shit from Logan, but she put up with her friend treating her like garbage and I was like WTF. I don't like when people let others get away with acting like that.

swooning!! for plato!!

when i begin listening to the audiobook, i thought another version of pretty woman flashing on my mind. half way through it, i almost shelfed it under DNF.

but then....

the last half of the book is very interesting. thats where the characters develop and the story becomes very much swooning worthy. i love bronte. she is a kick ass heroine who refuse to budge down on logan fortune. instead she is taking her time and her own pace to get to know logan and eventually falls in love.

++++ 4 SEXY BILLIONAIRE STARS ++++

After the death of his father and the betrayal of his fiancée. Billionaire Logan Hawkings needs a vacation.
And with a visit to a recent business acquisition—a private island resort in the Bahamas he has a chance to mend his broken heart.

When a hurricane blows in, Logan finds himself trapped in the hotel elevator, together with an unusual woman named Bronte.

After winning a holiday from her local radio station
Bronte Dawson, Waitress/ Philosophy major, is stranded on an Island in the run down hotel's elevator.
And to top it off with the hotel’s domineering, rude yet sexy manager Logan.

She’s unlike anyone he’s ever met, down to earth, funny, incredibly sensual and she had no idea that he is rich.

~"So sue me. And here's a thought: since we're stuck in here together, how about you try not being such a jerk for 5 mins."~

As they wait for rescue, Bronte and Logan embark on a sexy, steamy, no-strings fling.

description

By the time they are rescued Logan knows that there is something different with Bronte, and becomes intrigued by her.
But when Bronte discovers there’s more to Logan than he’s told her, Logan is in for one hell of a surprise. Brontë flees home without a goodbye, leaving Logan without even a phone number to contact her.

Logan is determined, he really wants to make things work with Bronte. He knew a good thing when he saw it. He spoils her incessantly, and Bronte really does have a hard time dealing with the all the money and their differences.
I loved that he bought her place of work just to talk to her!
Then does it again later down the track…. Hahhahaha

~ "You're not good at people telling you 'no,' are you?" He pulled her close again, his hand resting on her lower back. "I'd rather hear you saying 'yes.'"~

I loved Bronte, I thought she was strong and didn't let Logan walk all over her, or use his money over her.
Once he stuffed up, and apologised, I loved that she didn't just run back home to him.

~"I'm serious Logan, I want to date like normal people. Not like a billionaire and the waitress he just bought."~

And date they did, I loved their dates and when they got to the sex… WOW I loved it even more than the Sexy Beach time!!

description

Logan – I loved him. Supremely self-assured. He’s protective, strong, possessive but also deeply vulnerable, when it comes to trust.

There is a great cast of secondary characters that will be part of a series all about the secret brotherhood of the Billionaire Boys Club.
I'm really looking forward to Hunter's story next.

Favorite Quotes.

~"I liked the thought of you in my house, in my bed. though, in my daydreams, you were naked." Bonte laughed. "In my daydreams, your library had real books."~

~"I miss you. I miss your smile. I miss your hand in mine. I miss your laugh when you're nervous. I wish to God I was hearing it right now. That hurricane was the best thing that ever happened to me because it brought you into my life."~

~ "Be my guest. My legs welcome your invading presence."

Buy it.
Read it.
Love it.

First book in the Billionaire Boys Club series by Jessica Clare. Bronte Dawson is a waitress from the Midwest and wins a free vacation from a local radio station. But trouble arrives in the form of a hurricane and the island is evacuated. Only she gets stuck in an elevator with hunky Logan Hawkings. Needless to say things heat up. Bronte is unaware that Logan is a billionaire and owns the hotel where they are stranded. When she finds out she heads home believing she will never see him again. But Logan has other plans.

A spicy little read that I found entertaining. There is actually a bit of plot in this sizzling story. Looking forward to the next installment.

Honestly, this book was mediocre at best. Nothing about this story should’ve worked for me and yet… I found myself captivated from beginning to end. Couldn’t rip myself from it even if I tried and for that ot deserves a lot of stars. Plus I have a feeling I’m gonna be rereading in the very near future.

In the first installment of the Billionaire Boys Club you meet Logan. He is the leader - the driven one. He has been ridden hard by his father and taught a hard lesson that with wealth, your heart sometimes needs to be guarded. But he's learned his lesson. No more ideals of love for who he is, he knows that with his money no one will ever love him without it. He is controlling, but powerful men are.

His college friends who have all achieved billionaire status made a pact. They met weekly and assist each other in their financial investments. A new Resort has come into play - a place that has potential but needs assistance to grow. Logan is interested.

Bronte is a waitress with not much to her name but a degree in philosophy. After winning a free trip to the resort she finds herself in the midst of a hurricane evacuation. But a selfish friend she brought along causes her to be left behind. She is now stuck with a man she things works for the resort while everyone else is off the island.

As they struggle to survive Logan realizes that there is something different about Bronte. She knows nothing of him - his money can't influence her in their situation, but all of her feelings are wrapped up in lies that he told in order to see if what it is like to be a normal person. A dire situation allows the natural chemistry of the two to come into play. They find pleasure and a calm in the midst of a disaster. But after being rescued all of Logan's lies start to unravel. Being the ass that he is, he assumes that she won't be upset that he lied, but understand why he hid his wealth. Umm... not gonna happen.

Begin the chase. And of course since Logan is a novice at love prepare for the eventual loss of the girl...and again...begin the chase!

This was not the greatest of reads or the sexiest - there were some scenes that were very panty-dropping but overall the story for me was a guilty indulgence. Both characters were strong. Bronte had some minor glitches but overall she was not a wimpy or whiny brat. But a relaxing read that won't drive you to drink or make you want to rip your hair out. Which is often times overlooked with so many stories trying to put too much out there and allowing the story to get lost in the translation.

billionaire - check
hot guy - check
alpha male - check
less experience girl - check
a little kink - check
HEA - check

This series has the potential to get real good. I love that you get to see the start of Hunter & Gretchen's begin. I have a feeling that although I am not sure I can get into the whole face-maimed thing, that Hunter is going to be fantastic in this and will surely win me over. Overall this first book was enjoyed enough to keep up with the future releases.

This was a sweet, fun and quick read. I did have the "insta-love" aspect to it, but for some reason in this book, I didn't seem to mind. I think it was because I found the characters likeable enough that it seemed to work with this story. Both the H/h fit perfectly together, and Bronte was super adorable.

description

I do wish the book had a bit more angst, but because of the length, I can see why it wasn't possible. I'm excited about the rest of the books in this series. They'll make for fun weekend reads.

That's all really...short and sweet, just like the book.
Ah thank you.

Heroine (Bronte): 24yrs old
Hero (Logan): 29yrs old
Plot: 3/5
Grovel: good enough
Cheating: none
HEA: yes
Triggers: none

Average score: 3/5

Best Line: “Whatever you want to do, Brontë, I’ll do it.” – even though she was the one who kept giving in to him

Worst Line: “She hadn’t been the most skilled of his lovers—he suspected the Ukrainian ballet dancer would forever hold that spot—but she’d been the most open and honest one.”

Personal Review:
This was an ok romance between a staid billionaire and a waitress.

Random Ramblings
•Sharon reminded me of Deb from Bride Wars

•Good banter in the elevator
•I had really hoped the h didn’t lose any of her spirit and turn into a brainless WASP
•The ‘I love you’ came a little fast…they had only been together for a few days
•Loved Gretchen
