I have enjoyed each of the Khan sisters stories, but this one takes the cake. I have loved the feisty Amna and was so excited to hear show she fell in love. And what a beautiful flight journey her story was. Adnan Sheikh is a small time actor who meets Amna on a plane ride. He is running away from something, and due to certain situations that arise, they both decide to fake their engagement n ultimately their marriage. What pans out further is what the story is about.
Andaleeb has outdone herself with this one. It is funny, and the humour point on. Amna's monologues bring the house down. Especially the Lata Mangeshkar scenes. Oh, how delightful they are, as is when Adnan first visits Rohaan's house to discuss the movie. These scenes leave a lasting impression on you. The book is romantic and their chemistry is off the charts, it is hot and spicy. 🥵 There's also a thrill factor in the movie which blends seamlessly with the narrative, making you gasp at some points.
This story is incomplete without all the madcap crazy Khan family. Alina and Rohaan are too cute, as are Aliya and Jamal. Amna's mother is a delight, she's the glue that binds the family together. I absolutely adore the bond she has with Rohaan and Jamal. And Adnan trying to get competitive and win the mother's heart is just too cute. Even Anand's family is entertaining.
If you love romcoms and swoony love story that will make you howl with delight, grab this book now. But be sure to read the entire series to fully enjoy the book.
PS. - I didn't want this book to end and wanted to read more about the epilogue, especially about Pg 196 scene, when the family, mainly Ammi, comes to Adnan's movie screening. 😜😅
Being a film star comes with its challenges, including dealing with fans who sometimes overstep boundaries. Adnan, a popular Bollywood actor, is experiencing pressure due to a fan who has become a stalker, causing stress in his life despite his efforts to maintain privacy.
Amna, a strong independent woman from a modest family, finds herself in an unexpected situation and reluctantly enters a marriage of convenience with Adnan, fully aware of the implications it will have on her private life.
Although their relationship started as a marriage of convenience, they found themselves developing genuine feelings for each other. However, just as things were settling down, unexpected challenges arose, putting their relationship to the test. The stalker angle gave the story a different charm and the story took a new fold.
This marks the conclusion of the Khan sisters' series, providing a satisfying resolution to their individual stories. The series delivered complete entertainment, and while my personal favorite couple is Jamal and Aliya, I thoroughly enjoyed all three stories.
Trope : Fake Dating & Bollywood Hero & Common Girl. Sort of Contemporary Romance with pinch of Family Drama.
In This Is It, Andaleeb Wajid wraps up the Khan Sisters Trilogy with a bang, following the youngest sister, Amna, as she finds herself married to Adnan Sheikh—a popular actor with a loyal fan following (and a persistent stalker!). The mix of romance and suspense keeps you turning pages, but it’s the family dynamics that steal the show.
Adnan’s earnest efforts to win over Amna’s mother are heartwarming, and the way Ammi loves her sons-in-law, with a special soft spot for her favorite Rohaan, adds a charming touch. And if that’s not enough, there’s a surprise guest that fans of the series won’t want to miss!
With its blend of romance, suspense, and family love, This Is It is the perfect wrap-up to a delightful trilogy.
Just finished reading This Is It by Andaleeb Wajid. This is a Book 3 in the Khan Sisters Trilogy. This book gives a glimpse of the sisterhood, family bonding, and Bollywood world. It throws light on the harsh side of social media that turns the lives of male and female protagonists upside down. The female protagonist Amna Khan is a regular girl and the male protagonist is the handsome Bollywood hero Adnan Sheikh. This is a standalone contemporary romance novel that starts with controversy and ends with happily ever after. Read the full review on my blog. The link is given in the bio.
