Swords of Deception

Rate this book
The strings of destiny twine through the air, and gods and demons pull them. But Shar Fei will not be controlled, and she risks all to save her people from the shamans…

She has great armies at her beck and call. But to use them will unleash rivers of blood. She has the Swords of Dawn and Dusk, whose power defends against magic, but to wield them is to open her mind to a demon.

The shamans think they have her trapped. Her own armies sense victory. Chaos and death are about to flood the land. In saving it, if she prevails, she will destroy it. To prevent that, Shar conceives a plan so bold, so daring, that none could conceive of it or counter it.

But one of her enemies does. The man who long ago poisoned her forefather.

And he sets his final trap…

This concludes the Shaman’s Sword series.

I am a man born in the wrong era. My heart yearns for faraway places and even further afield times. Tolkien had me at the beginning of The Hobbit when he said, ". . . one morning long ago in the quiet of the world . . ."

I love to read high fantasy and epic fantasy novels, and I have a passion to write, to weave a story with words that draws the reader into another world.

Swords of Deception (The Shaman’s Sword Series)

I read all of these books in the series in the order they were made (1 -8) and is a great story. So much is relevant to seeing the rise and fall of empires. The greatest evil is the death and destruction of the many to serve only the few. Power corrupts irregardless of whether it is religious, civil, military or any governance. Too much power in the hands of the one or the few corrupts and leaves the multitude in bondage. Great series.

Yes, heros do exist

Both phenomenal and cataclysmic, author Robert Ryan concludes this series in the most spectacular grand fashion. Although the protagonist is daring and bold, twists and turns are woven into the story so expertly it is nearly impossible to predict the outcome. If like high fantasy this is one for the ages. Amazon needs to turn this into a .movie.

Good Series

I really like the series. I think it was very well written. The only drawback was how long it took to get the book 8.
