In a world where power and destiny entwine, Dumisani Ngcobo, a prince with unwavering determination, has always been groomed for the throne of the Twelve Kingdoms. He's been moulded by a lifetime of trials and tribulations, all leading to the moment he believes he's fated for. But when a haunting spectre from his past threatens to unravel the very fabric of his ambitions, he finds himself in desperate need of an unlikely saviour, the only one who can identify this Zizomila. Zizomila Mabhanga, a fiercely independent and successful businesswoman, is a force to be reckoned with. She's never been one to bow to anyone, let alone an arrogant prince like Dumisani. Yet, fate has a twisted sense of humour, and their paths collide in a way neither can ignore. Their magnetic attraction defies reason, and they are drawn together despite the glaring warning signs that surround Dumisani's enigmatic persona. As the dangers surrounding them intensify, their connection deepens, and soon, they find themselves ensnared in a love that's as intoxicating as it is perilous. Dumisani, driven by an unquenchable need to dominate, becomes addicted to Zizomila, making her his sole obsession and jeopardising the very plans he's spent a lifetime crafting. Zizomila, torn between her desire for independence and her inexplicable yearning for Dumisani, faces a choice that could shatter their world. The chains of their shared past traumas threaten to pull them apart, but their passion burns brighter than any obstacle. In Chains That Bind, a dark romance unfolds as a prince and an unlikely princess ignite a destructive passion that could set their world ablaze, leaving them to question whether they can break free of the chains that bind them, or succumb to the chaos they've unleashed in their quest to be together.
I remember stumbling upon Butterfly Effect by Pumza on Facebook. That's where Zizo was introduced. I instantly fell in love with the author's use of words and Zizo.
I was overwhelmed by feelings of joy when i heard about the release of Chains That Bind because Zizo was one character that stuck with me for years and i wanted her to have her happy ending like the other characters that feature in Butterfly Effect.
I had always questioned my love for her because she was almost an unlikeable person(to other people, not me🙊) until i got reacquainted with her here. My love for Zizo has grown immensely, i love her bluntness and confidence. Oh to be a big like me and to read about another big girl loving herself unapologetically is a miracle.
This book almost drove me crazy, not the 'bad' crazy but the good kind where my tummy felt fuzzy and my hands could not put the book down.
Dumi and Zizo make so much sense, i wouldn't match them up with anyone else.
I love how Zizo is protective of him from the onset. He really needed someone who would love him for him, unlike his parents' love that came with conditions, that's if they truly loved him.
I did not want the book to end, i wanted the couple to continue living in their bubble of loud and comfortable silence with tiny doses of laughter and questions coming from Zizo.
I was expecting a lot of raunchiness judging by the cover and the title but the story contradicts the aforementioned. We see a little of BDSM as if the author was teasing us. I think this was done deliberately, maybe we're going to get a more smutty book next. The wildness in between Dumi and Zizo behind closed doors is not what i had expected, i was expecting more but i am not complaining...their intimate interactions were enough.
If you think you and your partner are close then you haven't met Zizo and Dumi, they're literally inseparable which makes so happy. They deserve each other and the love they share.
This was beautiful to read. I wish i could get more of them doing nothing and everything together.❤
Pumza keeps on excelling with each new book! She is an excellent writer with beautiful witchery that sends a reader into a trance of her magical world of words.
Let the bad guy get some love too😌. One thing about villains they love intensely. This book felt like a movie, it was so well written. I honestly knew I would like Dumisani from Lusanda’s story even though he was batshit crazy, I knew there was something deeper about his story. Lusanda is still my favourite in the whole series but Dumi is next best. I must admit, Zizo’s back story was sad 😔 but I find her so unlikable and her personality was flat, I guess that has to do with the fact that the story was Focused on Dumi. Nevertheless this was really entertaining🔥
Storm in human form Dumi and Mila were meant for each other
Oh my word this book was a whole Movie I didn’t want it to end I didn’t want Dumi and Mila to end I enjoyed how much he loved her how much they both wanted to live under each others skin how nothing made complete sense if they were not togather. How nice it is to be seen, to be loved so effortlessly. Beautiful written and captured me from beginning to end. Loved how they both were able to heal each other.
I can't believe I have finished it🥺 I would do anything to read this book for the first time
Pumza Mfubu Shabangu outdid herself on this one
The book was well-written, well-researched and well-paced. I loved that she didn't overdo and it was realistic. I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to finish it but didn't want to finish it. ♥️♥️♥️
