Her Amber Chalice

Rate this book
Reclaiming her throne is only the beginning…

Morgan le Fey may have returned to modern-day Camelot, but settling into her new role as heir apparent is anything but easy. A simple witch at heart, the scrutiny of her every move proves stifling. When the threat of war looms over her newfound home, Morgan leaps at the chance to act.

Morgan’s magic leads her back to the streets of London on the hunt for the Holy Grail. Her return to the city also reunites her with her childhood friend and her first witch knight. Along the way, Morgan struggles to blend her old life with the destiny unfolding before her.

Their search takes them from the Tower of London to ancient abbeys and through the city’s magical underbelly. The closer Morgan and her companions get to unearthing the Grail’s true location, the more danger lurks.

Even if Morgan can lay hands on the mythical object, will she be able to control its power and keep it from falling into enemy hands? Or will her first quest end in tragedy?

HER AMBER CHALICE is the second book in the Arthurian-inspired Guardians of Camelot portal fantasy series by USA Today Bestselling Author Sarah Biglow and is part of the Seasons of Magic universe. The Guardians of Camelot series is best enjoyed in order. You can begin Morgan's journey in book 1, Her Sapphire Blade.

It was fun and full of adventures but I’m thinking she might be building up towards the death of Emerys, by things like her magic being weak coz they are in a different universe. And why would you send a diplomatic mission to someone who wronged you?

I would still recommend it though for a light read

If you’re drawn to stories where ancient magic collides with the modern world, Her Amber Chalice, the second book in the Guardians of Camelot series by Sarah Biglow, is a captivating continuation of Morgan le Fey’s journey to reclaim her place in a world where power and destiny are inextricably linked.

Morgan le Fey has always been a character shrouded in mystery and complexity, and Biglow does a brilliant job of breathing new life into her. In this book, Morgan isn’t just the heir to Camelot’s throne—she’s a woman grappling with her identity as both a powerful witch and a reluctant leader. The pressure of her new role is palpable, and the way she navigates the scrutiny of Camelot’s court while staying true to her roots as a simple witch is both relatable and compelling.

What makes Her Amber Chalice particularly engaging is its blend of Arthurian legend with the intrigue of a modern-day quest. Morgan’s hunt for the Holy Grail takes readers on a thrilling adventure through the magical underbelly of London, from the iconic Tower of London to ancient, mystical abbeys. The settings are richly described, and the sense of history mingled with magic creates a vivid backdrop for Morgan’s journey.

One of the standout aspects of this book is the reunion between Morgan and her childhood friend, who now serves as her first witch knight. Their relationship adds a layer of warmth and nostalgia to the story, providing a contrast to the darker, more dangerous elements of their quest. It’s in these moments that Morgan’s character shines, showing her vulnerability and the weight of the choices she must make.

As the stakes rise and the threat of war looms, the tension in the story escalates, keeping you on the edge of your seat. The quest for the Holy Grail is more than just a hunt for a powerful artifact—it’s a test of Morgan’s leadership, her ability to control the immense power she wields, and her determination to protect Camelot from falling into enemy hands.

Her Amber Chalice is a masterful blend of fantasy, history, and character-driven storytelling. Sarah Biglow has crafted a tale that not only honors the legends of Camelot but also reimagines them in a way that feels fresh and exciting. If you’re a fan of Arthurian-inspired fantasy with a strong, relatable heroine at its core, this book is sure to enchant you. Morgan’s journey is far from over, and I, for one, can’t wait to see where it leads next.

Our heroine is still coming to grips with prophecy and her new path in life. Along the way, she treads old paths and meets old friends. If she can rekindle what they once had, she just might get the help she needs.

This is book two of the series. it does okay as a standalone, but will be more enjoyable if read in order so you get the full background.

This is an urban fantasy story with hints of Arthurian myth. The story is well written and easy to read with a well developed setting. The characters are also solid and well done with diverse personalities that bring things to life. Our heroine is tough and smart, traits which she is going to need in spades. The plot moves along at a good clip and includes a nice mix of action and intrigue. Overall, this is a great installment in the series and I look forward to seeing what comes next.

Highly recommended.

Morgan le Fey has finally been recognized as the true heir to Camelot after defeating the imposter, Arthur. But adjusting to her new life is not without its challenges, especially with the Seelie Court threatening war. Returning to the Crystal Cave, she learns she must undertake a quest to recover a chalice secreted away. Her journey takes her back through the portal to London where she reunited with best friend Julyane. Along with Emrys and Gethin, they are in a race against their foes also searching for the grail.

Picking up just 5 days after the end of book 1, Her Amber Chalice, expands on Ms. Biglow’s modern day Camelot. Focusing on character development and family secrets, as well as incorporating traditional lore into her narrative giving a truly immersive story. The friendship between Morgan and Julayne forms the core of the story and I look forward to seeing how she adjusts to living in Camelot. As a fan of Arthurian literature, I am enjoying this series very much.

Her Amber Chalice continues the story we started in the first book. There's a slightly different feel to this one, focusing more on the developing relationships between all the characters rather than the mad dash action that started the series. There's still quite a bit of action here, don't worry, but the pacing is a nice breath of air. I highly recommend this book to fans of Arthurian fantasy, just be sure to start with the first book of the series.

Morgan is still reeling with the ending of the first book and finding out that she really is the Princess when she basically ends up on a quest that takes her back to London to find the fabled Chalice. But of course there is trouble danger, goons chasing her and a puzzle to solve. Action packed, a few surprises and entertaining scenes. A clean yet fun read as Morgan learns more about herself, family and friends. Plus a few surprises keep things fun at times too. I enjoyed the story.

this was a strong sequel in the Guardians of Camelot series, it had what I enjoyed from the previous book in this series. The characters were everything that I was looking for and enjoyed the fantasy element overall. Sarah Biglow has a strong writing style and was able to care about the characters and their world. I was engaged with what was happening and glad I was able to read this.

Suspence, action, danger, and more. How hard is it going to be for Morgan to go back to Camelot? Can she prevent the war" Mogan has to find the Holy Grail. Can she find it? Will she be able to weld it? If she can't what will happen?

This is really a quite different version of Cam and Arthur. It is a good luck and I’m surprised I liked it like anything to do with Arthur or Camelot.

I want to start off by saying that Her Amber Chalice was a decent story. While I didn't love it, I did enjoy it enough to plan to continue with the series. I didn't love it because at times the dialogue was stilted and the story was slow at the beginning. However Morgan's snark and the desire to see where the characters end up propelled me through the story, and I enjoyed the ending. People looking for a light, humorous read will enjoy this book.
