This was a very different take on my usual mafia romance! The FMC is strong. The MMC is the one who wants to sacrifice for his love. The chemisty is amazing. I really enjoyed it, looking forward to reading more from this new author! Also the spiceeeeee y'all!

Short, fast-paced read, little bit of plot, lots of obsession, some spice, little bit of danger, and a cute HEA. Yep, the HEA was cute and sweet, for a mafia themed read 🤭.

Captured by the Mafia Boss was a quick read about a young girl hiding from the mafia and seeking vengeance for the death of someone she loved dearly. Since this book is so quick it's hard to connect to the characters and honestly, I didn't care for the H or h. I do have the next two books so I may give this author another try.

You literally get exactly what you expect from this one, nothing more and nothing less.
It's a quick, steamy read with as much plot as there can be within the limited page count.

“Captured by the Mafia Boss” is the story of Olivia and King.

And when she disappeared, and everyone assumed she was dead, I knew better. Because she couldn’t be. I’d know in my soul if Olivia was gone because it would break off the last part of me. 

Really enjoyed this. Age gap romance between a heroine who is hell bent on vengeance and a hero is equally determined to protect her.

Loads of sex and horny moments between the two, ends in a HEA!

Safe.. ish unclear if hero ever slept with someone after meeting the heroine as they’ve known each other for long

The premise here had potential, but it just didn’t land for me. King has apparently been in love with Olivia since a single meeting when she was 18 — and he’s been quietly watching her ever since.

Fast forward: Olivia believes King killed her father and her arranged fiancé’s parents, so she storms into the funeral ready to take him out. Except he catches her in the act before she can even try. A month later, word gets to King that someone’s planning to kill her, so he swoops in and whisks her away “for her own protection.” Within hours, they’ve dropped all pretenses and given in to their mutual attraction.

There’s a villain reveal , surprise, it’s the nephew she was supposed to marry , a quick action scene, and a neat little HEA tied up at the end. But honestly, it all felt rushed, and I never got any real sense of connection between King and Olivia beyond surface-level lust. For such a high-stakes setup, the emotions never really caught fire for me. A super quick read if you want something fast and dramatic, but I’m hoping future books in the series give more time for the characters and their relationship to breathe.

A 3.5 read. This was a fast paced spicy read. I needed something short to read right now and this fit the bill! I’ve really been into the mafia romance genre lately.
I really liked the interaction between King and Olivia- her snark and his steamy glowering made for the perfect blend with these two.
I liked the intrigue with the nephew, Henry, that created some twists the further the story goes.
I felt engaged the whole time reading- love the duet readers and the accents are to die for!
If you like mafia, instalove with some spice and steam this short read is for you!.

This book was 80% smut & 20% storyline.

Not exactly what i was looking for.

Plus, I am no fan of London setting - that accent ain't working for me in audiobooks, same as I can't imagine a typical Brit as a heartless mafia monster.

I'm sorry but that's just not happening...



But since it’s me and my moody ass speaking now, imma round it up.

And will try other books, just not in the audio form.
I’m sure i’ll like them way more when i read them and play the voices in my head according to my liking. 😏😎

A very engaging story with drama and intrigue, a quick, easy read with wonderful characters and intriguing perspectives.
Sizzling spice level, just steamy enough content that will definitely leave you wanting more!
I feel it’s not quite lengthy enough, but as stated this story is very intriguing and leave me with so much questions and what ifs scenarios.
But I surmise that’s the intent of the Author and it nevertheless is a fantastic audiobook that was beautifully narrated by Jill Smith and John York who gave a fantastic performance!

Okay but not for me.

I’ve enjoyed my last few Evie Rose stories but this one just wasn’t for me. It was too heavy with mafia stuff and I didn’t care for the heroine being this super virgin seductress.

Also, I love some bondage but the fact that he already had these restraints set up permanently on his bed just made me think of him with ow and I hate that.

It was a condensed version of a mafia romance.
Everything that makes the mafia romance is in this book .
It's as cliché as it can get and don't get me wrong we love cliché romance here but this one was not it.

I listened to the audiobook adaptation. However, Goodreads doesn’t have said adaptation available on their platform.. that’s why I went for the Paperback edition instead.

Gonna be fangirling about one of the narrators first... cause I can..
John York’s voice in my ears? Yes, please. I’m a huge fan of his work, but this was the first audiobook I’ve ever listened to that was narrated by him—and let me tell you, he did not disappoint.

This story was insanely fast-paced—almost too fast at times. It jumped between time frames so quickly that I had to keep up or get lost. But despite the whirlwind pacing? It was hot. Very hot.

And yes, we even got a little BDSM in the mix. Because why wouldn’t we?

Also, can we talk about how this was the biggest game of hide and seek I’ve ever stumbled upon? Wild.

If you’re looking for a short, spicy, action-packed mafia romance with no time to breathe, this one’s for you.

Thoughts: This book is so short and to the point, I felt like I could not connect with any of the characters. I'd recommend if you want to listen to gorgeous accents, a short and steamy listen, and mafia elements.

Story: Olivia (h20) is determined to get revenge on those within the Camden mafia she holds responsible for the deaths of those closest to her and sneaks into a funeral get her revenge on mafia boss King (H40), the man she suspects. King thwarts her attempt with a poisoned blade and sends her on her way, only to be drawn back to Olivia when she's in danger, taking drastic measures to protect her. He spirits her aways to his remote Cornish cottage, revealing secrets about what really happened and his desire for Olivia. Things quickly heat up between the two, even as Olivia has to make a difficult choice when danger finds their hideout. Hot and steamy age gap, mafia romance with a side of danger, primal play, lite bondage, and more.

Audio: The narrators did a really great job with this story. The audiobook uses a male narrator and a female narrator – I always appreciate when an author goes for the additional costs of having two narrators. Narrators John York and Jill Smith both do a great job with the tone and voice that they bring to King, Olivia, and other characters. The audio quality is good and there were no issues.

"delicious men can still be killers" boy have I learned this reading dark romance this past year.

Short, spicy and witty novella. With one of the best audiobook voice actors I listened to in a while. John York and Jill Smith did a fantastic job at capturing the emotions of the scene, passion during the spice and had perfect comedic timing. Olivia had the best dry humor at times. "He really needs to put on some more clothes so I can concentrate on escaping." 😂

Five stars for getting me out of my reading slump. Evie Rose has a new fan in me! Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

King is the head of the family now and Olivia holds him responsible for these wrongs and she intends to end him. One afternoon Olivia is out for a swim when King himself shows up and kidnaps her. While locked away at his home in the woods King unleashes some truths Olivia was not expecting and is not sure she can believe, but while they spend more time together she finds herself believing and falling for him.

This was a good quick read to wrap up the month. Not the best mafia i have read but a good age gap will always get me.

For me the FMC didn't feel a real badass. She was so dedicated to kill someone but I didn't get the badass vibes. She felt just young.

A quick read, which I read in a sitting, very well paced & with strong characters – not easy to do in a short read. An intriguing storyline in which Ophelia at first struggles to know what is the truth but the more she hears the more she realises who is the real villain. I really liked both King & Ophelia, he’s loved her for a while but she hates him – or does she?
