This was a good book, I just wish there were more details. I could read the book, understand the book but it lacked the detail that sucks me into a book, I want to feel like I’m in the book and I just didn’t feel that with this one. Overall the story was good !

Before I start my review, a little disclaimer: the main characters, Trig and Nine, go through absolute hell and back in this book, and the trigger warnings are there for a reason! If you’re like me and like ALL of the triggers, read Nine (book one) and put this in your TBR for when it’s released. If you have a hard time with ANY of the triggers in this book, put your mental health first and never look back. This book is not for everyone. If you’re curious about the triggers, some of them are terminal illness, miscarriage, SA, drugging, extreme violence and death, and quite a few more.

That being said!! If I could give this 6 stars, I absolutely would. I’m new to Jennifer’s books, and only read Nine last week, but she was so wonderful and let me get the ARC of this book and I could NOT put it down. I took a few breaks to y’know, do human shit, but other than that, I refused to even look away from this book. It sucked me in so fast. The love, the lust, the hate, the pain, the death, ALL OF IT. The book ends in a way that sets up for a 3rd in the series, and i’m hoping that one day it will happen because just WOW. It may only be April 10th, but this is the top runner for my favorite read this month and it’ll be hard to beat. I need more of Nine and Trig!!

Yo, it's been a few years since Nine and I was just over the moon to read Trig's story!! Although he's a straight up k¡ller, he's also swoon-worthy and fiercely protective of what's his, his family. We get to know more of his history and even after the events in Nine, which made Nine and Trig LEGENDS in the near future, not everyone gets a happily ever after. They'll have to fight for theirs. And just when you think they've got it, BAM!! History has its own cruel way of repeating itself with their children. I, sincerely, hope the Author writes more because it is not over!! And I absolutely loved it!!

I cannot express how gripping this adventure was! We picked up where we left off with Trig and Nine’s adventures after book one ends. However, in a sudden turn of events…we’re thrown into a dark, heart jarring experience as they have to battle demons to survive after the consequences of their past actions comes to end it all. Take the trigger warnings seriously, this is not for the faint of heart. It will make you laugh, gasp, cry, and be unable to pull away from the story. Beautiful written.

It was a very good read and there’s a twist at the end that made my jaw drop. Could not put the book down. Ready for book 3 (please let there be a book 3!)

I purchased book one, “Nine,” so I could ARC read this book and WOW!! The story delves into heavier, darker themes. Read the content warning list prior to starting.

I must say the plot is easy to get sucked into! Though the writing could be stronger, it doesn’t take away from the story. I read each book in one sitting and I need more!! Without giving away too much, the twist/development at the end of this book was both tender and infuriating.. in the best way!! The story of Nine and Trig is not one anyone would wish to experience, but the love and devotion that they cultivate is.

HOW DO YOU END THE BOOK LIKE THAT?!?! Now I have to wait for the next book to come out. lol. Now I’m understanding the whole picture of everything that has gone down since now I know Trigger’s story. Then to go from them to the end of the book ma’am. You have me trying to swipe to a page that doesn’t exist. I need so much more

Buckle up people, this is a wild and fast ride that you didn't know you needed to take! If you have any issues with SA, Violence, Sex, Trauma... walk away, this isn't the book for you. If you can deal with those things, then you are in for an amazing treat. Trig is the sequel to Ms. Raygoza's book Nine, so if you haven't read it, I highly recommend reading it first. Trig can stand on it's own, you don't HAVE to have read Nine first, but it would be better if you did. That being said, here we go...
Trig and Nine have tried to go straight, but Carmen has dragged Trig back in, and he will do anything to protect those he loves, including burn down the world. From the first page this book is fast paced and doesn't slow down for a minute, and I loved every second of it. The characters are memorable, and you'll fall in love with them quickly. So much happens in this story and I don't want to give anything away, but I can tell you I was hyped up for a lot of it, livid and upset for another part of it and laughing at some of the younger characters antics. Again, don't want to spoil, so you'll just have to read it for yourself to understand. All I can say is I really hope it's not another eight years before the next book comes out and there darn well better be another because that ending was awesome!

To start, I would like to tell you that this is Book 2. Book 1 was called "Nine"; if you have not read "Nine", everything is going to be a spoiler.

****Book 1 Spoilers****
For those who need a refresher, here is a little recap: Nine, also known as Storm (FMC), is a Vegas escort who has had to fend for herself since her parents kicked her out at a young age. With the help of her best friend and assistant, she starts an elite escort business with some of the richest guys in Vegas. One night, she takes on a new client and things take a drastic turn when she is attacked. When she wakes up to find Trig (MMC) and realizes she is no longer in the hotel room, her brain is fuzzy as she tries to piece together what happened before her situation goes from bad to worse. One look at Nine and Trig saw some of the trauma that lays in him was in her too. The bond was undeniable even though everything stood in their way. Nine and Trig basically burned everything to the ground fighting for their freedom in the end they make it out on top and start a family of their own.

Book 2 starts by giving us a look into Trig's past and everything leading up to how he meets Nine, told from his perspective. Then it really starts to pick up when we learn that somehow Trig is back in the game. From this point on, we go on a wild ride which I was prepared for after reading book 1. The writing style is smooth, keeps you engaged, and has good character building. And we all know I love a good twist or shock, and this has it. 4.5 stars; I would recommend.

Trig….
Yes!!! He’s back with a vengeance!!

I was thrilled when I found out that they were together through thick and then it truly kept me captivated. I’m not going to give a lot of spoilers but hold onto your pants because the ride continues in this book.
Jennifer Raygoza outdid herself, keeping the thrills, suspense and triggers, going all the way through to the end. The intensity of the love and sense of loyalty goes beyond some of the books I’ve read. She kept me on my toes, made me want more. And as for putting this book down nope I couldn’t , and it didn’t happen.
Trig’s need to protect, and Nine’s need to be next to him just makes these books 5 stars for me. If you’re looking for romance, spice, thrill, suspense, cliffhanger, and lots of triggers. I say get to the store or Amazon and get these books, but remember Nine is the first.
Train damn I can’t seem to stop writing about trig. The storyline with these books are phenomenal as are the characters and all they go through to get to where they are. Make sure you have your snacks next to you and reading this book, because you are not going to want to put it down.
But seriously written excellent it keeps you wanting more of Nine & Trig!!!!
I’m ready for this and all she has to give us in the future of the series. I’m all in with this book!!!!I want more!!!! I’ll be patiently waiting for the next.!!!!

“And even then… in death, I will find you, because what we have is eternal”.

Jennifer wrote a BEAUTIFUL duet with Nine & Trig! The way she wrote their story so beautifully raw, the angst, the heartbreak, it was an emotional rollercoaster throughout. Both Nine and Trig goes through hell & back, just wanting to live a happy life, away from the demons and hardships, but their past always has a way of coming back around when they least expect it. They went THROUGH it in this book, so many twists and turns. I loved how protective they were of their family and literally done everything they could to ensure their kids didn’t know about their past life as the hooker & assassin that fell in love, being legends in their own rights!

The storyline was amazing and a great pace. I fell in love with Nine & Trig’s strength and resilience. They dealt with so much and stayed strong with one another. I loved that Jennifer really gave the duet a full circle moment with their kids. It was nice to see an epilogue in a sense of the future. It would be nice to see a spin off book of the kids and their ventures! Mya made me LOL, she is the carbon copy of her parents and has such a feisty side! I loved this duet so much! Highly recommend for a thrilling and heartbreaking read at the same time!

Jennifer Raygoza knows how to pull a reader in from start to finish! This was an emotional ride all the way through and I mean it hit all the emotions. I spent a majority of the book with so much hate in my heart and roared out load when people got what they deserved. Trig was so well written that I didn’t want to put it down! We fell in love with Nine in her book..but wait until you sink your teeth into this one. Some triggers were lighter than I expected in areas and deeper than I expected in others. There are chapters that will rip your heart wide open..but please don’t back out..I promise it is worth it in the end. I’m a huge reader of books with triggers but the story line and writing matter more to me. This one was the story that drew me in. Some scenes are not for the faint of heart but push through! Don’t back down!
The twists and turns that just “popped up” through this entire book had me like “what the fuck” or “where the hell did that come from” in a good way!
I can’t wait to see what she writes next. I truly NEED to see where Mya, Cisco and Oscar go and hope like hell their ride is coming soon!

Just to start this, I did receive an advanced reader copy to read and review before release. This book does release May 4th, 2024 and I hope you all give Jennifer some love and read Nine before this one releases. Without further ado, here are my thoughts:

This book was amazing. I did have to go read Nine before I read this ARC read and Nine was great but i did enjoy Trig more. PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS ON THESE BOOKS. I and the author are not responsible for you not reading these prior to reading these books and they do have some moments that are very difficult to read and contain moments such as miscarriage, sexual assault, child neglect, child sexual assault, etc.
It can be a tough read so please read responsibly.

Trig was so action packed I couldn’t put the book down. His possessiveness of Nine is just *swoon* and you really get attached to these characters. The ending really shook me I was not expecting that and I’m already messaging Jennifer about a third book and this second one isn’t even out yet. I loved every second of it. I laughed. I cried. I felt a little squeamish. It was amazing.

In order for me to read most of what I do with out any sort of triggers I primarily detach myself from the characters and the situations , it’s why I’m not moved by happily ever after or sadden by lost loved ones. Also Especially why I’m not here claiming book boyfriends and being physically attracted to fictional people.
BUT…. the author of this book wrote Trigs personality in a way that for me I was drawn to him. It was magnetic and I found myself wishing I knew a guy like Trig. A hit man with soul and heart, unbelievable sense of humor he made me laugh and I must say that is a turn on for me. I’m not saying I’m out here claiming a book boyfriend but I wouldn’t mind actually knowing a character like Trig .

His point of view had me hooked I cried (metaphorically) for his loss and pain ..I was enraged and infuriated by the injustice of his life and wanted for Trig the upmost justified revenge ass whooping served to the villain in this story. I’m still pissed

I enjoyed this read so much and the author is amazing sweet. Go download both Nine and this book! ASAP!

The author heavily relies on telling rather than showing, which detracts from the immersive experience. Despite this, I found the story's content captivating. However, I yearned for more vivid descriptions instead of mere narration of events. Surprisingly, for a book with spicy elements, there was a noticeable absence of explicit scenes, which caught me off guard. Nine and Trig were undeniably formidable characters, their shared past trauma forging a deep bond between them. Yet, the flash forward segment felt hurried and out of place, almost deserving its own dedicated book rather than tacked onto the end. While I appreciate the attempt to set up for the next installment, it felt disconnected. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and its characters.

This is the second book in this series. They must be read in order. There is a big gap from when Nine was published and this book. It took me a minute to remember the first book when I started reading this one. Nine, Trig, and their daughter and living in Fuji now. A confrontation between Nine and Trig brings some secrets to light and starts us down a hard path. Trig has been pulled back into the life they tried to hard to get away from. He is trying to protect Nine and their daughter by not saying anything but instead it does the exact opposite. Once Nine gets something in her head so won’t let it go. This pulls them further into the danger instead of away from it. Two are going to have to fight even harder than before if they want to survive. I enjoyed this book but I feel like the ending was unnecessary. It sets up the next book. But if there is to be a next book there is a significant time jump that could have just been put in the beginning of that next book. I am not sure if I would read that next book or not if there were to be one. I did enjoy this read. I felt for Nine and Trig once again. It seems like they can never get a break. Like their lives are always being controlled by someone else. Great job Jennifer.

A lot has happened in this book.

Please always read trigger warnings before reading books

This book is emotional rollercoaster. It’s second book in series.

The story broke my heart and I liked it. There was trauma, love and revenge. I must admit it went dark so it’s not for everyone. The book starts with Trigs backstory and we get a chance to get inside his head. I liked „I will burn down the word for you” trope and his possessiveness. Character development was on point and characters had very realistic reactions to very crazy situations which for me is rare in books. Both Nine and Trig are broken and yet for their family they can be extremely strong.

I mistakenly started this on a workday and I wish I would’ve waited until the weekend. I literally had to force myself to put it down so I could work. While I do prefer my books to have more spice, the world building and character development had me absolutely hooked. The amount of times I said “what the absolute fuck” during this book is astronomical and I honestly can’t wait to read more from her! There are some triggering elements to this book, so it’s not going to be for everyone. If you do get easily triggered, this will not be the book for you.

I absolutely loved this book!!! I couldn’t put it down. It had me on the edge of my seat. If you have any issues with SA and various forms of violence then this book is not for you. I love Trig and Nine and I was captivated by their love and affection for one another. The way either of them would walk through hells gate for each other! I’m trying not to give out any spoilers so if you are ok with the trigger warnings then get ready for a wild ride! I hope to see Trig and Nine’s story continue! Jennifer Raygoza you outdid yourself. I will patiently waiting for the next book!!!!

THIS IS NOT A SAPPY LOVE STORY. There are trigger warnings for a reason

First things first, this is a twisted, dark, vengful hot and steamy read. This is the second book in this series, the first book being "NINE". (I will advise reading this in order.) Trig is not for the faint of heart, I would HIGHLY suggest that you read the trigger warnings. If you are into dark romance then this is for you. The story is chaotic and rough but it will pull you in. If you are someone who wants serious smut then "Trig" is for you. (Trig is daddy). 10 out of 10

This is the second book, so if you haven’t read the first one. Read that one first! Also please check the trigger warnings before reading, because I know some might not be able to handle either one books. I don’t have any triggers, so it is perfect for me. I’m actually the type of reader, more triggers the better lol With that being said, this one was just a really emotional and raw read for me. The way this story was written I got so lost into it. Can’t wait to see what is to come from this Author.

Trig is book 2, book 1 is Nine. In this book, we get to go back and see what made Trig who is. How he became this dark, quirky, smart mouthed hitman. The trama he and Nine have been through would break normal people, but it builds them higher. There are a long line of triggers in this series, so please always look at the list. My heart broke for this power couple. A high-end escort and a hitman wrapped into a action packed, steamy story. There is smut. I can not wait to see what else the Krackle family finds themselves into

Just when your heart can take anymore… Here comes Trig!

Honestly, his story hurt more. The pain, losses and threats to his loved ones keep coming until he has to make some ultimate decisions on how to truly get his freedom and be with Nine in full.

Trig is a man who became the quaneacential hit man because he didn’t have a chose. His choices always drove him to do what he believed was best for his family.

Wonderful end to their story, I just hope we can meet up with Mya some more!

All I knew about this book going in was that it was darker than Nine and some beta readers had pulled out due to the triggers. I kept an open mind, as I always do when reading, more so when it's an arc read and I certainly wasn't disappointed. Certain themes hit close to home but were written perfectly. Seeing more of Trig and Nine is something I was desperate for, after all who doesn't love a good myth?

This book kept me on my toes. Reading Nine then Trig was like watching one of those gritty action romance movies you watch on a lazy Sunday or something. You get sucked into the story and chew it up like a snack.

The story flow was nonstop with action going on at every corner. The knots didn't leave my stomach until I finished the book.

Thank you, Jennifer, for writing this. I needed the distraction and another world to dive into when I want to escape my own.

Trig was the piece of writing I was craving after reading Nine! I love Jennifer’s storytelling and how easy she makes it to fall in love with her characters. Parts of this book were hard to read simply because you can feel what they feel, but that’s what I look for in a book. The end was ::chefs kiss:: - satisfying but also leaving me wanting more because I can’t get enough of these two!

This damn book!!! Ripped by heart out, chewed it, spit it out, taped it back together. There were ups downs and sideways. Trig and Nine are destined for each other, the sadness they have been through, it will wreck you. But there is light at the end of the tunnel, or is there? I hope this story continues.

First you will need to read Nine first before reading Trig! Trust me you won’t be disappointed! Trig was an amazing read Jennifer Raygoza is truly talented! When I first started reading I was very sad to find out that he got sucked back into the life they left behind, but I was also so happy they they managed to stick together through thick and thin! I so hope she writes a 3rd.

Excellent in a completely different way from Nine! The characters are still amazing and the “bad” guys are the worst but then some wrenches are tossed in and the angst is multiplied but the love is off the charts for Nine and Trig!

The ending well- you will have to read it to find out! 🤯

Freakin awesome!
