As the Gallivanter Expedition prepares to travel the globe in their Model T Fords, young Edith has only one to do whatever it takes to be on that team.

When she impulsively drops out of school to join the ragtag group of explorers, taking the stage name Andiamo Gallivanter, she finds the life she always dreamed about.

Together, the daring adventurers push the boundaries of discovery, navigating exotic new cities, tribes, and danger.

Instead of settling into the predictable life of a respectable lady, Andiamo settles into the driver’s seat of her automobile, narrowly escaping peril as the Gallivanter Expedition weaves through Spain and North Africa on the first leg of their world tour.

As Andiamo crashes through society’s barriers, she also discovers who she really is—and where she really belongs.

But when a careless moment changes everything, will she escape the unexpected tragedy that threatens her very life?

Saving Andiamo is the first book in The Gallivanter Saga, the thrilling adventures of a ragtag team of world travelers, navigating danger and discovery in the Roaring Twenties. Fast-paced and packed with daring exploits and unlikely relationships forged, crackling with compelling dialogue and humor, Andiamo's name--and her story--are one you'll never forget.

This is an amazing book with flawless research of Edith's travels. I got the book for my 16 year old daughter and she couldn't put it down. She loved the story and was eager to talk to me about it - not the norm with her. Can't wait for the next book to come out.

Fun book. Andiamo (Edith) is a young woman with a lot of spunk who refuses to stick to her expected gender norms. Luckily, her family realizes and supperts that she is just not going to be happy with just staying home and keeping house. She craves, and finds, adventure whenever she can. Her big adventure of the book is an around the world race in a Model T. Would be an excellent book for teens, especially girls who dare to be different. People can be so judgmental of girls who "don't know their place" and this book celebrates one who creates her own adventures in the world.

The storyline is captivating. The characters are so great and either loveable or hateable. I do sometimes feel that her experiences as a woman in that era would be more extreme. There is also something about the writing that doesn't fully capture me for some reason, but I still enjoyed the story.

3rd Read on Audible!!! Blazed through it! Still incredibly in love with these characters, this story, these adventures!

2nd Read Review: Historical fiction has always been one of my favorite genres. This action packed adventure, set in the 1920's is new, fresh, exciting. I just finished rereading it so I would have everything clear in my mind when book 3 of the series came out in early February. I can relate so much to the main character, she reminds me of myself as a young woman. Bold, brash, capable, independent and oh so very lonely. I love the name "Andiamo" and what it means, what it stands for and how it came about. You'll have to read it to find that out, I'm not spoiling that jewel of a moment for you!
The journey of growing and becoming Andi is not for the faint of heart. I can't imagine what life would have been like back then, but this gives me a glimpse of how challenging it was to be a strong woman then. Some situations had me biting my nails and unable to put the book down until I found out what happened. Great character development. I would absolutely love to meet my very own Chito someday. I'll leave Cap for the younger generation!
Clean and wholesome, yet far from boring! Enjoyed it thoroughly - both times so far!!!!!

FIRST READ REVIEW: This book grabs your attention right off the bat!!!! There are so many unexpected twists and turns, new situations that you couldn't possibly see coming - and I love that!!!! The characters are so well developed. I fell in love with them. The main character, Andiamo, is the type of woman I'd love to be - adventurous, strong, a unique balance of independent/self-sufficient and equally willing to rely on others when appropriate. That perfect harmony was refreshing! Whether you like all the characters or not, they'll all 100% get a reaction out of you! I love that it is loosely based off a true historical event. I really like historical fiction since I can learn so much about what life was like during those times, all the while enjoying a great story. It's taking me to places I may never get to visit in real life, but after reading the book, I feel like I've been there!
Fast paced - I blazed through this in just a few days.

I started reading for the promise of adventure, and fell in love with the characters, who felt like dear friends. There were twists and drama, but my favorite moments were the team just enjoying each others' company, laughing through their circumstances.

An interesting observation is that, from the team, each person represents one of Ethos (Cap), Pathos (Chito), and Logos (oh Bernard...), with Andiamo serving as our narrator.

And let's be honest, while we all hope to either be Cap or Chito, often our internal monologue is Bernard, with his blunt assessment of life and the people around him.

I can't wait for the rest of the series, to see where the adventure takes us!
