I really enjoyed the heartbreaking experiences Molly endured struggling to raise her little boy, while living homeless and destitute. The rest of the story sucked me in and kept me glued to the ending. There was plenty of excitement, ending on a huge cliffhanger. Looking forward to seeing what happens to these characters in the next story.

I was given ths book as an ARC for my honest review. NOTE: this is left on a cliffhanger.

I had such high hopes for this book and was disappointed. I am so glad I didn't purchase this book. The first half of the book was a 5 star for me then Molly went from a strong stand up to Viktor to protect her child to a plain idiot. seriously, she was not forced into the marriage and for sure equally participated in consummating the marriage with no complaints.

So this was about a girl who was sexually assaulted when she was 18. No scene just a verbal telling it happened with no details. She then gets pegnant by the Mob boss's brother who assaulted her. 5 years later, the mob boss went to kill her to see she has a son who looks like his brother and the story falls short from there.

I feel the author missed the mark on this one by changing the woman's strength to weakness when it came t her personality. I felt it was almost a split personality...please have sex with me...you will steal my son....please have sex with me...you will murder me...consummate the wedding she so called was "forced" into when she was given a decision that was not a painful one...leave my son and everyone behind...come back to have sex again...to leave to protect my son.

Was this a tennis match and I didn't get the memo? I was so confused and really just don't know if I will read the next one. Only if it is free to read.

I didn't think I would like this book as much as I did in the beginning I didn't like Molly but as the story unfolds she grew on me. Viktor is the head of the Kornilov Bratva he has a younger brother Fedor who is in prison. He is trying to live up to his father's reputation and prove himself to the rest of the bratva. Viktor is always trying to clean up his brothers messes. Molly was drugged and attacked by Fedor and the police want her to testify against him. Molly was 18 she later found out she is pregnant. I did click with her in the beginning but I realized that she would do anything to keep her son Theo safe. One night she has to go to a motel with no money the clerk makes her an offer she can't refuse. After he stopped the motel clerk Viktor offers to put Molly and Theo up in a room for the night. Viktor doesn't like killing women and he will not kill a child. Viktor knows that Theo is Fedor’s son Theo looks exactly like Fedor did when he was the same age. Molly knows who Viktor is and she is terrified he will kill her and take Theo away. This was a good read Viktor comes up with a plan to safe her and her son. I have read this author before this book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. This book does end in a cliffhanger.

Do yourself a favour and don’t read this book ....

One word: Molly

So basically this story is about Molly and Viktor. Viktor is meant to kill Molly cause to get his brother out of jail. Viktor learns that his brother raped Molly and now she has a kid.

So, Viktor is kidnaps her on the day he approaches her as she figures out that he’s her rapists brother.

What does she do when they get to his? So terrified that she demands to sleep next to her son? Nope. Scared that Viktor is also a rapist like her bro? Nope. Scared he’s gonna kill her ? Nope

She sleeps with him. And not cause he like pushed for it. No she was begging for it.

Makes sense? Nope? Yeah exactly.

Then she decides that living in a huge house where they have food and shelter and Theo (her son) has toys and is happy is not where she wants to be. Nope she wants to leave and go back to being homeless and foodless (to the point she’s unable to feed her son) because she doesn’t want to be “trapped” in a huge house.

Sorry, you’d rather your son starve than for you to feel “trapped”?

Worst part ... WORST PART. Viktor clearly tells her if she leaves with Theo, his brother WILL find them and WILL kill them but with no money no house no food she thinks she’ll be able to protect her son and her ??? Does this woman know what it means to be a mom? And does she have any semblance of rationality? Your son WILL be killed if you leave but you still wanna go anyways?

Okay and THEN SHE decides to leave anyways and leave Theo with Viktor because he’ll have a better life there.
I would face depression and stay with my son. I wouldn’t leave cause I don’t want to feel “trapped”. And btw her feeling trapped in a mansion with a guy who treats her well and he gets her interior design books because she loves it ... who leaves their son? Who? For their own needs? She was planning to leave her son for good ... let that sink in

And then SURPRISE Viktor’s brother gets Molly on day one of her job.

Anyways in the end ... I need some realism in my books in how people act. Molly sleeping witb him on day 1? Her leaving her child and wanting to leave even though Viktor said he will kill her son?

It was horrible.

And then there’s the lack of romance and the fact that Viktor sucks as a Don. How many times are you gonna fall for your brothers BS. So even the mafia aspect was badly done.

I was not a fan of this story. Viktor is not ruthless enough to be in the position he is in. I get that he wants to change the way things are done but, well, that's not going so well and he is ineffective as a leader. His inability to see his brother for what he is and what he is doing to undermine him is a liability that makes him even weaker. Additionally, it annoyed me that the author keeps using Italian mafia terminology and descriptions for a Russian OPG, including in the title.

I don't expect I'll remember this book fondly enough to care about the second part when it finally comes out.

What does love look like? That question was the beating heart of Married to the Don. There are so many different forms of love in this book: love between brothers, between a mother and her son, between strangers, between a man and a woman who were never, ever meant to be together. Sometimes, that love makes people do courageous things: sacrifice, struggle, protect those they care about. Sometimes, that makes people do stupid things—overlook sins, ignore warning signs. Love is as powerful a force as it is mysterious.

Viktor is a different kind of mob boss than those I’ve written before. He is both softer and stronger in his own way. More emotional, yet more dominant as a result of that. He is a man, not a devil—as flawed and fragile as the rest of us. But that, I think, is why he is my favorite hero yet, and why this romance needed two books in order to properly tell the whole story. As you dive into Married to the Don and start to see all the different frequencies of love that reverberate throughout this book, I hope you learn what I learned while writing it:

That no two loves are the same. That time changes who we love and the ways in which we love them. And—toughest of all—that some of the things most worth loving in this world are ones we must sometimes find a way to let go of.

Enjoy!

it was okay but the mmc was way too trusting towards his brother which annoyed me cause it was pretty obvious…
and also the fmc was a coward who wanted to run at every point and didn’t understand that she can‘t just walk out the door and be free from all of them 💀💀

Major plot error

This book had my attention from the first page. I really enjoyed the story line and the way it was written. Everything was going great until BAM! Huge plot error.HUGE! I stopped reading right then and there and had to go back to make sure I wasn’t crazy.

The author had a beautifully written book and then ruined it for me in a matter of a few words. I won’t ruin it for anyone but the way his mother dies magically changes from the beginning of the book to the end of the book.

I’ll finish the story because it’s who I am as a person but I am super bummed. It had a lot of potential.

Viktor leads his Bratva with iron fist, the only one he cannot control is his little brother, Fedor, who is in prison. Fedor and his lawyer inform Viktor that there is an accusation of rape that will come out against Fedor and Viktor promises to take care of the woman. But when he meets Molly and her young son Theo, he can’t do it and ends up taking them to his home. Molly is terrified bc she now lives with the brother of the man who attacked her, and she thinks that Viktor eventually will kill her. She prays that she will never have to see Fedor ever again, but Fedor gets released from prison. Viktor wanting to protect Molly, tells her that the best thing is to get married, Fedor will never touch her and she and Theo will be safe that they will tell Fedor that Theo is Viktor’s son.
Lies, betrayals, passion... I’m dying to know what will happen in the next book.

I received an ARC copy and this is my honest review.

Viktor is the head of the Kornilov Bratva and been cleaning up after his brother’s messes for years. Molly was attacked by Viktor’s brother and now she has his son. She is barely surviving and trying to stay off the streets. When Viktor finds her and learns the truth, he plans to protect her and ends up forcing her to marry him. Can they be happy, and will he keep them safe? Fast-paced read with lots of drama and steam. A good read.

Okay so I didn't finish this one since I wasn't feeling a connection with the characters. It started out with Molly and her son homeless and struggling to make ends meet. I really felt for her situation and was rooting for something good to come her way. Viktor, head of the Russian bratva, is working on a plan to get his feckless brother out of jail. The plan includes murdering anyone who can be a character witness and prevent his brother from being released. He learns that his brother raped some girl five years before so she's his next target. He tracks her down and finds out he has a nephew which leaves him conflicted. I felt like the writing lacked intensity and suspense. Viktor was no alpha and his indecisiveness was a turn off. The sex scenes was meh with Molly being scared one minute then horny the next. She behaved so strangely. She's terrified when she meets the brother of her rapist but has sex with him within 24 hrs of meeting? Didn't ring true to me.

🚨SPOILER ALERT 🚨

I finished this book and immediately said ‘I have thoughts’. Because I do. A lot of them. Ok, now that that’s out of the way let us get to these thoughts, shall we.

1. Nicole Fox did it, ok? There is a lot going on in this book. Like a LOT. There is a rape, a baby, a homelessness situation and oh, the mob. 👀 I honestly couldn’t catch my breath reading this because everything was happening so fast! 💨 There were no down moments in this book and for that, I applaud Ms Fox.

2. There were some pretty confusing character choices for me in this one. At some points I kept asking myself what Molly was thinking...or if she was thinking at all. For example, this hun gets moved to a maisonette (if you know you know 😉) and immediately stops going to work? Ma’am?! Did you not just say that you wanted to save money for a deposit for an apartment for you and your son? How sure are you that this maisonette life is permanent? I don’t know, I just found it a bit inconsistent with the hardworking, determined to get off the streets by sheer force of will image the author was trying to paint.

Another example is how Viktor can’t bear to kill his brother, shoots him into a coma and plans to keep him alive only so he can look him in the eye when he kills him? 😫 I’m sorry what? It was just too fantastical and really warped thinking (to me). Like what? All of your problems could have been avoided by shooting him once and getting it over and done with!

3. I love any book with kids in it so having Theo in it was really cute. Points for Theo.

4. It was nice to have someone to hate in the form of Fedor. Man he was immature. He spent all his money, got himself locked up and then released and STILL couldn’t get his life sorted out. 😒 He just took and took and Viktor kept giving and giving like the enabler he is 💔 Fedor is a mess and I hope he gets what’s coming to him in book 2!

5. The marriage being fake was too much for me. In this land where waitresses are suddenly not showing up to work despite wanting to have apartments and brothers not killing their brothers at their earliest convenience I just couldn’t handle the marriage being fake too! How is it protection if the marriage is fake Viktor?! 🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Anyway, mixed feelings about this one aside, I was still able to follow it through and make it till the end. It was a wild ride and I hope it ends well for the characters. I’m still deciding whether or not to read book two. I’m curious to see how the author ends it all.

Final thoughts? Approach with caution. Stay for the wild ride!

On a more personal note, I’m hoping to encounter a five star read soon to end my book slump.

 Reeling In The Years🎶

Alpha Bratva Male Romance💕 and Abduction Thriller.
Kornilov Bratva
Viktor🐺🍆⛲💪👊🔫Kornilov, the older brother of Russian descent, takes over the family mob business from dad, along with the impossible task of getting his worthless brother, Fedor's, life back in order.

Fedor👺 is in prison right now for a murder💀, put there by a surprise witness. Viktor🐺🍆⛲💪👊🔫 eliminates the witness, but it's too late. He is getting tired of always having to clean up Fedor's messes. When will it end?

Now he is faced with killing Molly💃💋, a young woman, who was previously assaulted by Fedor👺 a few years ago. If she testifies in that trial, Fedor👺 is done for good. Only when Viktor finds her, a poor homeless waitress, she has Theo👦, a little boy with her, obviously Fedor's son!

Viktor🐺🍆⛲💪👊🔫 knows he must protect Theo👦, and Molly💃💋, too, because Fedor👺 will now try to have her killed💀 from his prison cell. Besides, Viktor sees that despite being poor, Molly💃💋 is smart, a great mother, and beautiful, too.

ARC Provided by Booksprout🌱 and Hidden 💎Gems.
I also got this ebook with KU.

The first part of the book is depressing, with Molly💃💋 being kicked when she's down by cruel, disgusting, and unfeeling men, who are all predators👺. Maybe the predator👺 angle is a little overdone by author Fox📚. Not that Viktor🐺🍆⛲💪👊🔫, an outright murderer💀, is a whole lot better! For as smart as Molly💃💋 is supposed to be, she is completely stupid about getting herself into mortal danger by running away from Viktor🐺🍆⛲💪👊🔫, time and time again!

Written in First person with dual points of view. Not my favorite style, but it is what it is. This fast paced novel ends in a cliffhanger!

Bratva

Brava are not supposed to have a heart but when they do not can only mean one thing, it means more to them that their own life. That's what a woman can do to a man that not supposed to care and it can be deadly. This is a great addition to the dark romance theme. Looking forward to book two in the series.

I want to love this book duet I really do. I am 18% into book two, but that doesn't seem to be on Goodreads yet so I can't leave my opinion there.

So here is my issue. At the start of this book it states the Viktor has had to raise Fedor since their mum died of a bad drug purchase after she is fresh out of rehab when Fedor was five. Their father was too busy running the bratva to be any sort of a father figure. This isn't the only discrepancy. But it's one of the bigger ones that stands out.

Here is why:

They're rich, so why would Viktor as a 8 year old be cooking and bathing his 5 year old brother? They should have maids and nannies.

There are other parts in the book that states the dad put energy into Viktor and him getting a job at 16 to etc. I'm sure if I was bothered to look I would find more. But basically it paints a story of the father favouriting Viktor and ignoring Fedor.

But here is where it gets interesting and all turned around. At the end of the book when Viktor and Molly go to the cemetery it states that both parents died on the same day. This had me confused.

I'm currently stuck at 18% of book two because Viktor just told Molly that both his parents died in a fire? It doesn't specify the age that Viktor was. But it doesn't really matter, because this basically undoes the entire story built in the first book..? I can't continue the second book because there are just to many inconsistencies for me.

Disappointing

Victor is a weak man and doesn’t deserve Molly. At every turn he ignored anything she wanted and failed to protect her in any way. Molly is an awesome character and was the kinky reason I kept reading.

The story started out strong. I was engaged. However, the more I read, the more I became irritated with Victor. In no way was it believable that he’s a Bratva Don. With how weak of a man he is, I’m not surprised everything blew up in his face.

The writing was okay but the fighting scenes were lame. I kept feeling like more could have been done with this book. Overall, it didn’t feel like a true mafia book. Maybe a gang? It just didn’t convince me.

Review in Engligh / et en français:

I loved this first part of the story. The ingredients are there: the cute little boy, the devoted mother, the enigmatic man of power and the hateful character who taints everyone's life. Throughout the book, we follow the actions and thoughts of the two main characters: Molly and Viktor. Their story is born when his mission is to kill her but he will fall in love with her and he will do everything to protect her and her son.
Unfortunately, I remove a star because there is a big contradiction in the story. Viktor and Fedor's mother is said to have died from drugs when they were little and the father is said to be shot much later in the head, except that in the end they go to the cemetery and Viktor says that they were killed the same day.
Anyway, I would read the second part of this story with great pleasure!

I received a free copy of this book via Hidden Gems Books and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Weak and predictable

This was a first that I read with a weak and pathetic Russian mafia boss. The cliche of the mc being poor and weak were predictable. What was great about a weak mc and a weak mob boss who is basically beaten by his brother. Nothing original on the storyline. Just a typical weak, poor, and sibling rivalry plotlines. What a wasted read. DNF...

Didn't hold me enough to delve into the second book, too monotonous between her being stupid, because really, she was doing a bang up job dragging a 4 year old around like a suitcase and getting nowhere and him he was just weak and throw in a psycho brother and I'm done.

Wow! Superb! Molly is a young, single mum that is working all hours and living on the streets with her young son. She’s desperately trying to turn things round but always seems out of luck. When she meets Viktor in the motel she has come to for shelter, the gorgeous man provides them with a room for the night. But Molly never takes anything for granted and when she finds out that he is the brother of Theo’s father, she tries to flee.
Viktor, is trying to find a witness that needs silencing. His younger brother is behind bars and as head of the Bratva, Viktor is trying to help him get out of prison. But when he finds the witness, Molly has a young son with her, his brothers double. He can’t bring himself to kill her especially when he knows what happened go Molly. Viktor may be the head of the Bratva, but he is a fair and just leader and he doesn’t take life indiscriminately. But when Molly tries to run, he knows he has to keep her and her son safe, so he takes them home with him. For the first time in a long time, they have a roof over their head, Theo begins to flourish and Molly is no longer working but able to stay at home with her son. Viktor is falling for the feisty spitfire more everyday. Molly is drawn the Viktor and tries to fight her feelings, but ultimately a passionate and heated relationship begins but with mistrust and betrayal around every corner, none of them are safe. This is a brilliant story. It is well written, interesting and enjoyable. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, never knowing what’s going to happen next, til the last page. A fabulous first book and I cannot wait to find out how it all ends.

OUTSTANDING OH THE TWISTS AND TURNS!!!!!! A MAZZ ZZZIINNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG
Molly had her life mapped out, she knew what she wanted and she wasn't scares of the hard work going to college was going to bring. So she decided one last good night out before she knuckled down. That's where everything went wrong. She was happily dancing away when a creep wouldn't leave her alone. Then a tall dark handsome stranger steps in a rescues her. His name is Fedor Kornilov and he wanted to buy her a shot, which if honest Molly is happy to do but that is her last memory before waking up naked and cold next to Fedor, who is out cold. Molly knows he has raped her as she is sore and she gets out of there as fast as she can. Now four years later she is basically leaving from homeless shelter to homeless shelter. Taking showers at the gym just to get by so she can bust her butt working as a waitress so she can fed her 3 year old son Theo. And yes you guess who is the father. But that doesn't stop Molly from loving that little boy with all her heart.
Viktor Kornilov is Fedor's older brother and head of the bratva. On one of his visits to see Fedor in prison he tells Viktor to find the women whose picture is in the envelope and kill her as she is going to testify again him when his case come to court. Viktor has always protected his brother but something about this woman scream out that she is innocent. But he will find her and watch her see what happens. What he wasn't expecting was to see she had a son that looked little his brother twin at the age. He had to play this carefully. But something happened that brought everything screaming forward and had him taking Molly and Theo back to hi house. To kill her??? Take Tho from her??? make love to her????
what would he decide and what would Molly do??
OMG I LOVE MOLLY SHE IS ONE FIESTY &SASSY MUMA WHO WILL PROTECT HER LITTLE BOY STRONGER THAN ANY OTHER MUMA BEAR OUT THERE. SHE WILL SACRIFICE HERSELF TO KEEP HIM SAFE. HER LOVE FOR HIM HAS NO BOUNDARIES. SHE HAS BEEN BY HERSELF FOR SO LONG SHE DOESNT KNOW HOW TO EXCEPT ANY HELP OR ADVICE. VIKTOR IS A PERFECT BRATVA LEADER WHO MAKES DECISIONS USING HIS BRAIN AND NOT HIS FISTS BUT SOME TIMES LOVE CAN BLIND YOU OF THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE CHANGED AND BEHAVE LIKE A CHAMELEON CHANGING THEIR VIEWS, BELIEFS AND MORALS TO SUIT THE PERSON THEY ARE IN FRONT OF JUST LIKE THE COLOURS OF A CHAMELEON. BUT HE IS ALSO UNDERHAND TO GET WHAT HE WANTS, WHAT HE NEEDS.
AND OMG REALLY THE CLIFFHANGER WOOOOOHOOOOO I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE WHERE THIS GOES NEXT

This was one of those books that you had to take the good with the bad. As a reader that enjoys dark and Bratva reads, I was intrigued by the blurb and excited to read tis series. After reading book one of this duet I am left with a complex blend of complicated emotions. What worked for me: The story idea was an appealing one that I felt had plenty of potential and I was right about that. There was plenty of potential here but unfortunately I felt it was mostly wasted. Why? Well, because of what didn't work for me: The characters. I found both Molly and Viktor very unlikable. I did feel for Molly but this was a character that firmly belonged in the TSTL category and if I am brutally honest, I didn't always think she was the best mom. I know that is probably going to make some people mad but it is how I felt and it is only my opinion. As for Viktor, I thought he was simply too weak and because of this I found it so hard to believe that he could be a head of the Bratva. These are men that rule with an iron fist and a show of weakness would get them killed, so this for me this was a huge issue. I love when a big bad guy is brought to his knees when he finds love but this wasn't that. Will I read book two? Probably. Just to see how the author manages to navigate these two out of the uncharted mine field she put them in and in hopes that there is a big improvement in these characters. This is my candid, volitional review.

This book has alot of action plenty of bad guy's with betrayal around ever corner a different kind of mafia book this Bratva isn't about loyalty it's about coming out on top and one small boy. Lots and lots of passion between Viktor and Molly and a whole lot of hate for Fedor hes one nasty piece of work and when it gets to the nitty gritty not even family can be trusted and forget about alliances with other mafia keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer and what friends there few and far between this book dose end with a cliffhanger but it's still a really good read and I look forward to the next one.

A little about the book you have Molly she is living on the streets trying to take care of her son Theo. Someone wants her dead and her only ally mite just be the end of her.

Viktor runs the Bratva he tried to do things write treat his people better then his father raise his brother but all that got him was disloyalty and a brother that's nothing but trouble.

Fedor hes in Prison will do anything to get out even bribery hes scum doesn't care about anyone but himself and thinks loyalty is bought by fear and money and it seems to be working for him so far his time will come.

I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
