Did I call him Daddy during a high-stakes contract negotiation? Maybe. Did it lead to the most exhilarating, off-the-record fling of my life? For legal reasons—and a very pointed look from my attorney—I'm advised to neither confirm nor deny any activities, particularly those rumored to have happened within the Pentagon's walls.
Caught between the unstoppable force of my free-spirited ways and the immovable object that is Spencer Beckett, we ignited something unexpected.
A challenge turned into a game of whispered commands, each "Daddy" drawing us deeper into a thrilling, forbidden dance.
Can our fling find a place in the real world, or is it destined to be a delicious secret, tucked away in the files marked "classified"?
Welcome to a standalone romance of laughter, lust, and loophole navigation. Dive in—no background checks, security clearances, or prior series experience necessary.
Author Coralee June has always been passionate about storytelling and impressed by the influence it has on people and the decisions they make in life. She loves engaging with the projects she works on, diving headfirst into developing real, raw, and relatable characters that are equally flawed and beautiful. Coralee lives in Dallas, Tx with her husband and two daughters. She's been known to frequently indulge in boxed red wine and day-old pizza. When she's not writing, June is reading or substitute teaching at the local middle school.
Emily may be part of a start up tech company and seemingly has her shit together, but all that unravels when she is sent to pitch a product at the Pentagon. Not only is her man hiatus threatened, her carefully crafted life starts revealing its flaws in the company of General Spencer Beckett.
“It’s a really bad idea, General Beckett,” I insisted. “Call me Spencer,” he countered. “I thought you liked it when I called you Daddy.” He grabbed my hips. “Then call me Daddy.” Spencer looked down at me with a predatory smirk. “I want us to be personal,” he said. “Very personal.”
This was no meet-cute. More let's poke the bear. As you could imagine, the General is uptight and devoid of any humor, while Emily uses jokes to deflect. Yet somehow the chemistry is crackling from day dot and Spencer can't help being drawn to this redhead he shouldn't find appealing.
Admittedly, this was pretty slow going due to a fair bit of tech and military talk setting the scene. But once we got to the heart of it, and *cough, cough*, Spencer's daddy kink and compulsion to look after his lovers; well wasn't he the perfect partner for this walking hurricane of destruction!
Thank you Win Me Over for getting me through an exhausting few days as well as the current book drought. This book was entertaining, cute, sexy and quite funny in parts. Just what my brain needed! ❤️
This one exceeded my expectations.. I loved the difference between the two MC's. The banter, the chemistry, the ups and downs.. this was a great romance book. I loved how the characters where portrayed ... and the kinks. This book made me LOL a handful of times and I also love reading about Jo and the previous characters...
It took me reading LITERALLY half of this book to get to the plot. So I think 3 stars is REALLY generous but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ the first half of the book, there was a lot of drama at a startup and I couldn't tell you what the company did? Something to do with something that maybe the Pentagon could use? There was a random ass golf tournament that people took REALLY seriously. And then the second half was our fmc getting interviewed and vetted by the Pentagon. THAT'S IT. That's the book.
‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ - - ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵
Spencer Beckett (mmc) had 2 totally different personalities in each half of this book.. the guy who he was in the first 50% (super uptight, military alpha) and then another guy in the second 50% of the book (call me daddy, let me take care of you dude). He started off really uptight and annoyed with Emily and then it was like a flip switched and suddenly he just wanted to take care of her? It wasn't believable to me! Maybe if the story or missing plot alluded to his alter ego or whatever, then maybe I'd get it. ALSO his go to pet name is "baby girl" and if that isn't the cringiest freakin' pet name then idk what is!!!!
Emily Maher (fmc) wasn't memorable, I had to look up what her name was because I forgot so yeah. She was a mess and not in a good way. She was loyal to her friends so that's something?
AND REALLY QUICK BECAUSE Jo (annoying POS boss) is so effin problematic and toxic and unnecessary and so annoying. I couldn't stand her and any dialogue with her, I'm sorry!!!
‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ - - ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵
My favorite quotes . ˚◞♡ ⃗ *ೃ༄ ❣ "“You’re making me want to take care of you again,” he hummed, his warm exhale tickling my earlobe."
❣ "His touch wasn’t just physical; it was an anchor, a declaration, and a promise that he was there to take care of me."
When free-spirited Emily is sent on a work trip to DC to secure a military contract, she clashes with the uptight General Spencer Beckett who is overseeing the negotiations. They start up a relationship and navigate their different personalities, work responsibilities and growing feelings toward each other.
We met Emily, Sadie’s chaotic best friend, in Get Him Back, and I was so excited to learn more about her because I too, am very chaotic. She’s just as chaotic in this book but I wouldn’t have her any other way. Neither would General Spencer Beckett, who thrives on taking care of Emily. They’re complete opposites but the way they complement each other is enviable. He brings structure into her life and she brings fun into his. His need to protect and take care of her is hot, cute, sexy and heartwarming all at the same time. Their first meeting was hilarious! The way Spencer was so formal with his words and throughout the story you could see him loosen up for her.
I’m sorry, he’s not just General Spencer Beckett, he’s 𝘋𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘺 General Spencer Beckett.
I love how when he was sure of his feelings for Emily, he didn’t let her try and run away. Well, she did a little. But that was part of her character growth! She kept running away until she finally faced her feelings and fears of abandonment. But he was there waiting for her, with a plan and a presentation. Daddy.
We got to see my babies Sadie and Jack again <3 Once again, the side characters make this world feel whole.
Also I love how the next book was set up. I cannot wait for Rachel and Everett’s story. It’s so unique!
Also Coralee, I need to know more about the Great Tampon Expedition of ‘09!!! #iykyk
I am officially obsessed with Colonel Spencer Beckett! How could I not be?! CoraLee wrote a man that embodies the stern brunch daddy persona, like she knew exactly what I needed deep in my soul. The way he balanced the chaos and hilarity of Emily was so heartwarming and I loved watching his squishy side melt for her. As can be expected in CoraLee’s new universe, we get a collection of other characters that bring so much joy to her pages and make the world immersive! CoraLee can write across sub-genres in a way that many authors can’t, but romantic comedy is really her bread and butter and lets her humor truly shine!
I loved this book. A clever combination of naughtiness, humor, drama, heart and emotion fuels this romance that had me utterly charmed and with a gigantic smile on my face. The passion, sparks and chemistry that sizzles and pops between these characters raises your temperature quite handily, while the plentiful amounts of feels and swoon have you falling head over heels and enjoying each and every second of the trip.
Listen, daddy kinks are not my thing… but Spencer is just HOT. He just really wants to take care of her and has to put in WORK to win her over and I love it. He’s truly devoted and such a good man even if he is a grumpy stern military man. Coralee has just done it again with her amazing writing and phenomenal story telling in a way that makes it easy to get lost in the world.
Woo! Go Emily! This book was so good, Daddy Spencer was a perfect partner for Emily. The laughs, the spice. It has it all and made me so happy to see Emily find her happiness. Another great story by Coralee!
Coralee June brings her smarta&& brand of humor and wit and sarcasm in Win Him Over with a heavy dose of spice! You won't be able to stop smiling and laughing with Emily's shenanigans until Daddy Spender Beckett wipes that from your face with his hotter than hell control and dominance and alpha perfection. You will be too turned on! I love when an alpha falls first and wow Spencer chased Emily with singe minded military level obsessive intensity!
When Emily was sent to DC by her eccentric boss to navigate a military contract, she had no idea what is she getting into. An overbearing stiff General and a deep dive into her background for sake of national security wasn't on her agenda. Things are turning more interesting when Spencer Beckett is ready to break his well maintained rules for a woman who is pure chaos and mayhem. But Emily is scared of commitment...
Wow Spencer definitely surprised me. It started with his no fun, all work and rules personality and soon went to "call me daddy and let me take care of you" level. Literally. Emily is a firecracker but her past has put a vulnerability that's just to hard to shake off. Spencer attacked the problem in a military way. Plans. Strategies. Persistence. Using all the weaknesses of his enemy. It was a bit unnerving, to be honest. There is a conflict of interest and Emily is resisting him severely, all while trying to stop falling for this enigmatic man. It was so adorable to see the prim and particular DC military elite losing his mind over his woman. Spence kept on showing up till he broke down Emily's walls. And the chemistry? Oh my god the daddy k1nk was making a power play here. Emily deserves someone like Spencer who loves her wholeheartedly. She pushed boundaries of the perfectly structured life of Spencer Beckett until there was only love and passion left. Their back and forth was so entertaining and had that hot foreplay vibes. I cannot wait to read more from TherTech world.
I've never really been much of a fan of books involving Daddy Kink. Well, CoraLee June certainly won me over with her latest book WIN HIM OVER. An opposites attract, forced proximity, protective hero romance which had wonderful humour, witty banter, heated passion, and sizzling chemistry.
Emily Maher and General Spencer Beckett couldn't have been any more opposite, and yet that made them perfect for each other. She was the sunshine to his storm, she was carefree, he was meticulously organized, yet they shared an undeniable chemistry and a fierce passion. Emily not only brought out Spencer's protective nature, she enabled him to find his lighthearted side. I loved Emily, she was incredible, her ability to stand up for herself and what she believed in were her strengths. Spencer, well he was just magnificent, commanding yet caring. The development of their relationship was perfect, but will they cope with the distance between them when Emily returns home?
CoraLee's words had me constantly laughing with Emily's antics, squirming in my seat with the spice and passion, and wanting to say "Yes, Dady" each time Spencer spoke. I enjoyed catching up with Sadie and Jack from book #1 Get Him Back: A Second Chance Workplace Romantic Comedy, as usual Sadie gave me the giggles. CoraLee had my emotions running the full gamut: angst, happiness, fear, sadness, doubt, and rage. To say I loved this book is an understatement. It is an absolute MUST READ, and I can't wait for the next one.
Thank you to the author Coralee June and chaotic influencers for the ARC of the latest release!
I’ve been unwell so I’m a little late to the party that and the naughty minx released it early!
Anyway - I’m happy to be diving in. I have to admit I’m slightly apprehensive regarding the “daddy” situation, it gives me the heavy ICK. I’m hoping it doesn’t distract from the story too much or make me cringe cause I love me some CLJ!
FMC - Emily Roomie/hacker/dungeon master - Rachel BFF - Sadie (see “Get Him Back) Husband of BFF - Jack (see Get Him Back) MMC - General Spencer Beckett
OMG howling at “Nothing says I’m a catch like a public display of narcissism”
Okaaaay this is feeling slightly personal “Is this your strategy for justifying giving up?” Okay I deleted all my dating apps cause men are dogs - I’m justifying nothing ha!
“I just found out the military is diving into my villain origin story on Monday.” These one liners are making me chuckle
Okay for all my worrying the “daddy” thing wasn’t too cringe. 😬 yes certainly not my thing but Emily and Spencer made it work and their story is so good.
Go read it now!
I really hope Rachel’s story is next cause giiiiiiirrrllllll!
I received an advanced copy. I read a snippet a while back and when I got the book I honestly couldn’t remember what it was supposed to be about it was a surprise. The first few chapters I was laughing so hard I was crying. I especially enjoyed the golfing and the spying…
I loved the characters Spencer was very rigid and set in his routine and had everything mapped out daily. He knew what he wanted and he had plans and more plans. He was not going to fall for her he just wanted but something kept drawing him to her over and over again. Everett saw it as well he could tell something sparked Spencers interest.
Emily is a free spirit and she is like a tornado when she steps into a room. She is a runner when things get serious she is gone. Her friends she is loyal to they are her ride or die. But she likes to press Spencers buttons she could press those all day long.
These two together are fun her with her unpredictable ways and him rigid they work. She gets him to relax a bit and he gets her to be a little less scared….
I am hoping we see a continuation with some other characters in future books. But not that Leon guy. Larry was such a annoying character. Maybe Everett but not that Lesley guy I think we can all agree he is best in the past.
Did I read a different book than everybody else?! Where is the plot? We had a meet-cute, a golf tournament, followed by sudden attraction and sex, internal conflict, and then suddenly 2 pages of reconciliation and the book was done.
Emily has no character growth. The mommy issues she brings to the table are never worked through, only established and reestablished and then used as the excuse for running away. She’s got no personality other than being messy, in athletic, and traumatized. I LIKED her character in the first book, so I don’t know what happened.
Spencer is so over the top with the military persona it’s hard to take seriously. Yes it’s supposed to be a defining characteristic, but not his only personality trait aside from suddenly becoming “Let me take care of you by making sure you eat and drink water, now call me Daddy” man. It was honestly hard to read.
Jo ruined this book for me. Sadie finally calling her out for her absolute stupidity towards the end was the only thing keeping me going.
I’m honestly sad. I liked Get Him Back. I was excited to read Level Him Up. I don’t know if I’m going to now 🤷🏼♀️

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
If you are looking for a really funny book then look no further. There is also a lot of spice in this book and I loved every single second of it. Emily is hilarious. She does things that will have you laughing so hard. She is off to D.C. to negotiate a military contract, things get interesting very quickly. The poor girl has not a clue what she is getting to in the form of a overbearing, needs to lighten up General who has done a very deep search of her background all in the name of National Security. Spencer is ready to break all his rules for her though and the man has some serious rules when it comes to the women in his life. He just can't stay away from Emily's brand of chaos. However, Emily is very scared of commitment. I loved these characters and devoured this book. It was so much fun to read.
Emily wasn’t the first choice to head the military contract vetting but she had the wherewithal for it. Or so she thought. It was a comedy of errors from Emily’s clumsiness to the things the military dug up to the growing attraction she had for strait-laced General Spencer Beckett. Spencer’s innate need to care for others draws him to Emily even though it’s all kinds of wrong for him. When she discovers his kink, game over because Emily knew all the buttons to push. While the whole daddy thing isn’t my thing, the complexity of the characters and the changes they went through were epic. Loved the cameos with Sadie and Jack and their impending parenthood. Plus Jo and her over the top personality. Not to mention Rachel… can’t wait to read about them in the next book!
I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.
This is the second book in this incredible series, and this is Spencer and Emily’s story. Emily is a free spirit, who has a commitment phobia, and when she is sent to DC by her boss to negotiate as military contract, she does not expect to cross paths with an enigma General Spencer Beckett, and his cold façade, to delve into her background for security purposes. These two complement each other perfectly. This is a well written story which has humor, witty banter, opposites attract, forced proximity, challenges, conflict, drama, secrets, emotions, undeniable chemistry, shenanigans, passion, engaging and realistic characters, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and steamy addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Emily and Spencer were everything. Together their back and forth banter had you swooning and laughing on the spot. These two were like fire and water, but together they combusted beautifully!
Emily is hilarious and all of her little quirks just make you laugh so hard at how random it all is. When she heads off to D.C. to negotiate a military contract, she quickly realizes how much more she's getting out of the deal. When Spencer shows up with his over-bearing, dominant self, he too is not prepared for Emily. Quickly he finds himself ready to break all of his rules even though her commitment-phobe self is ready to run at the first sign of love.
I really enjoyed this book and Coralee is straight killin it with these romcoms! Keep them coming!!
*Overall 5/5 *Heat? 5/5 *Dual first person POV *Ends on HEA
I truly enjoyed this book. Coralee did a fabulous job writing the stern, very much likes everything in order, military General Spencer Beckett and the not believing in love cynic Emily.
Emily getting under the General Daddy's (yes, Daddy) skin was hilarious and the way he secretly loves how she is just makes me swoon.
I really love how Coralee can pull you into a book and also have all of these side characters that you love too is amazing. The chemistry between the two jumpef right off the pages. Also enjoyed how there was witty banter and had me laughing out loud. Loved this book and hope there will be more to come in this world. Thank you Chaotic and Coralee for this book.
I've read a few of CoraLees books and love them all.
I will admit to being a bit hesitant about the 'daddy' content, however it fitted the scenario of this book well.
Finding herself out of her depth when she's sent to negotiate a work contract, Emily is a combination of unlucky, chaotic, sassy, funny and actually pretty vulnerable.
Spencer Beckett needs to be in control, he didn't rise through the military ranks to General without a strict work and personal ethic. Emily confounds him at first, however he soon finds himself falling for her and Emily finds herself craving his control (in the best way).
Overall, I really enjoyed the book, I definitely chuckled to myself on more than one occasion.
Our crazy little gang is fighting the good fight and inventing new technology. Jo puts in a bid for a military contract and has everyone on high alert. Jo wants to ship Sadie off to dazzle the military with their new tech to outbid her rival. But Sadie has a bun in the oven and projectile vomiting isn’t going to win them over, so Emily is put to the test and sent to fly the company’s flag.
Enter General a*hole who is all about precise, planning and perfection, all characteristics Emily is lacking.
But when Emily literally falls into his arms his hard exterior begins to crack.
Turns out zany, messy and spontaneous Emily is the key to unlock his armour.
It’s a meet cute, rom com done in true CoraLee style with lots of laughs some bumps in the road and a HEA.
"Win Him Over" by CoraLee June delivers a steamy and tantalizing romance set against the backdrop of high-stakes negotiations and forbidden desires. The chemistry between the free-spirited protagonist and the unyielding Spencer Beckett crackles on every page, leading to a sizzling off-the-record affair that ignites the pages with passion. June expertly navigates the complexities of taboo desires, weaving a tale of whispered commands and clandestine meetings within the corridors of power. With witty dialogue, palpable tension, and irresistible characters, this standalone romance is a delicious escape into a world where rules are meant to be broken and love knows no bounds.
Oh my heart, General Beckett is all of the things that I love in a good book, he's stern and strict with an undercurrent of fierce protection for anyone he cares about. Emily made me howl, shes defiant and head strong, doesn't let anyone tell her she can't do something, but with a past that broke me... bloody love her. This book is an absolute must read, I went through so many emotions, laughed till my sides hurt, felt uncertainty and angst, sadness and joy. I swooned so many times. I really could shout it from the rooftops how brilliant it is but I can't get up there so this will have to do.
Emily is the chaos that General Spencer Beckett was missing! This story had me smiling and chuckling as the chemistry between the two of them grew. Emily is the unlucky volun-told employee to navigate the high-stakes military negotiation, and she is woefully unprepared by Jo, who I have loved since “get him back!” Beckett is driven to take care of her much to his own dismay, and the two of them slowly fall for each other.
Yes there is a daddy trope in here, and it is not one I typically enjoy, however Coralee uses this sprinkled into the story line and it has more to do with the fact that Beckett wants to take care of Emily and her chaotic nature.
Win Him Over is the second book in the Her Office Series. It is a standalone, military, workplace, romantic comedy romance with plenty of wit and steam, and a touch of emotion and angst too.
Emily and Spencer are terrific characters and an awesome couple. Spencer and his Alpha personality, his caretaker ways, and let’s not forget that steamy “Daddy” kink, is absolutely adorable. Emily’s clumsy, chaotic personality and ways literally cracked me up. These two were absolute perfection together.
This is such an entertaining and witty story. I am absolutely loving this new era of CoraLee! I am officially a rom-com lover! I’d definitely recommend this book and cannot wait for more.
It is so bad, I want to give you a zero, but that's not possible, so I give you a one.
Everything about this rubbed me off the wrong way. And I mean every single thing from the way it was written, to the very shallow characters to the incredibly cringy boring smut, to the most atrocious plot!!!! And don’t get me wrong I love daddy kink and the whole spoiled lil one thing but this?
I mean how am I supposed to take him seriously when this is how dirty talk is written??
“want to feel your orgasm ripple through the phone line, confirming that I still have the power to make you melt with pleasure, no matter where we are or who might be listening.” Confirming????? 😭😭😭😭😭
The spice and sexual tension between Spencer and Emily kept me reading rather than the plot itself. It felt like their romance was key and the plot just filled in the blanks. There was abuse of power of the military which seemed far fetched. I enjoyed Emily’s character (a bit of a trainwreck), but I actually didn’t know what she did as a job. All I knew was that she worked in a tech company.
Spencer and his daddy kink was more focused on the taking care of things rather than dominating.
I absolutely loved this book. The push and pull between Emily and Spencer was *chef's kiss*. I just adored the way their characters developed throughout the book and their relationship. Emily is the perfect mix of sassy, independent but still able to give up control. Spencer wants control in every aspect of his life but she is the the curveball he never expected to want and fall for. Their relationship was so beautifully written. And the side characters are absolutely hilarious, I especially loved how protective Sadie was of Emily. Definitely looking forward to reading the next installment.
Emily and Spencer's story was such a fun read. I love how over the top some of the situations the characters face make for simply wonderful laughs (and a few groans). The ensemble of characters were great to read. I mean a best friend who would cyber stalk your ex - that's a keeper my friend. The plot moves pretty quickly, though I did get frustrated with the FMC and her commitment fears. It was nice to see if coming from the FMC rather than the MMC for once though. I did feel the end was a tad rushed (hence 4 stars). I will definitely continue reading these books.
Daddy Spencer is hawt!! This is my second read by this author and loved every minute of it.
Hero- General Spencer ( rigid) is older than the heroine. He meets Emily at one of his Golf charities. She is there to impress him to help win a contract for her eccentric boss. They start off on the wrong foot and in a humorous way. Emily- Totally opposite of Spencer but they were perfect for each other. Setting- Washington DC
I just loved everything about this book. It was a slow burn and had me laughing out so hard at Emily.
