L. Pichon says that when she was little, she loved to draw, and her mom said she was very good at making a mess (this is still true today). She kept drawing, went to art school, became a designer and art director at Jive Records, and began to publish children’s books. After its publication in the U.K., The Brilliant World of Tom Gates won several prestigious awards, including the Roald Dahl Funny Prize, the Waterstone’s Children’s Book Prize, and the Blue Peter Book Award. L. Pichon lives in Brighton, England, with her family.
Tom is drawing about his family. A jar of chocolate spread was eaten. Tom took the blame. Delia blamed him while there was someone else who was guilty. The teacher Mr Keen has a sport-related injury and the substitute teacher Ms Jam is here. She is fun and has balloon rockets to study science. There is another kid Amy who draws on the wall with chalks. Tom was a bit jealous of the attention she got. He continued drawing his comic.
It is a series of events. I like it as it takes on the perspective of a kid who likes to draw and wants his friends' attention. He also wants to get the reading companion and lost it because of his dog. It was a fun read.
OMG the joy I had reading this book. IT was AMAZING. The illustrations and the authors style of writing wad just chefs kiss. When I had read the book for the first time, I IMMEDIATELY fell in love with it. It was so much fun and after when I’ve read it I wanted the whole series of it. But the sad thing is I finished it😢. I would TOTALLy recommend to the people who love humour and funny.
