"We are all fools for the devil, Catalin. We play by her rules and no other's."
Obey The Involition.
The first and only rule that matters. Every witch, werewolf, or vampire knows this. Every creature of the night is aware of what befalls those who rebel against the ruling body of magic wielders
Nobody rebels. Nobody can.
The All-Mother is too powerful and the curses that bind them are too strong. Free will is a myth. The Involition is all there is.
Until her.
Catalin Aguirre is in the Special Operations Group of Interpol's local NCB branch. She's good at what she does.
It's kind of spooky how good she is.
An ordinary girl. A dedicated Interpol operative. Her life is normal, mundane, and uneventful.
Nicola Claire lives in beautiful Taupo, New Zealand with her husband, two teenage boys and a Miniature Schnauzer named Rudy.
A bit of a romance junkie, she can be known to devour as many as half a dozen books a week if she drinks too much coffee. But her real passion is writing sexy, romantic suspense stories with strong female leads and alpha male protagonists who know how to love them.
So far, she’s written well over 70 books. She might have caught the writing bug; here’s hoping there’s no cure!
This is the first book from a new series by Nicola Claire. If you've ever read the author's books, you know how she likes to put twists and turns into every chapter, but goodness, it's all so worth it. There were only like two or three places where the book needed grammatical/spelling editing.
I really enjoyed this first book with Rafael and Cat. The storyline is an interesting one. You have witches, vampires, wolves, and who knows what else will pop up later.
Cat made decisions that were based on her emotions, which I didn't really like, since I believe a person should never make decisions based on emotions but instead use facts, take time to think the decision over and plan accordingly. Lucky for Cat, she's dedicated and loyal, which makes her likable.
The way the author wrote the storyline made it a page turner. That ending was pretty nerve-wracking. Now I'm excited for the next book. The bad part would be the wait.
