In the past, no matter how hard I tried and how much I worked, there would always be a feeling of emptiness that I couldn’t get rid of. Since life is not fair, why try to get it together like this? There is nowhere to go, nothing I really hope for, and no one to be with.
My curiosity was piqued by the film's title on Netflix, and it was only after watching that I realized it was an adaptation of a Chinese novel. As an avid reader, I made an effort to find and read the original work to catch any missing details. Overall, the film did a commendable job, maintaining most of the story's nuances without significant cuts. The only notable difference was the setting: the film places the story in the Netherlands, whereas the original novel begins in the US. In general, the pacing of Chinese romance novels tends to be slow and easy to digest, a refreshing change from the often-dramatic South Korean narratives. If you're looking for a healing book or episode that doesn't require too much thought, I highly recommend checking this one out.
Am I falling in love with Chinese novels? What really stood out to me was how real the characters felt. The female lead’s inner struggles and the male lead’s quiet yet unwavering affection had me rooting for them from the start. And as the story unfolded, I realized I wasn’t just invested in their lov.
Recently I watched the drama and wanted to read the novel...I got the english translation of this book in internet. Though,I found some grammatical mistakes there, but it was manageable :) I liked the drama. I liked the book too. I think I fell for Chinese novels. HA HA! The novel is simple, the plot is good, the characters are good...the couple, even the bond between the friends is adorable! There were moments when I felt overwhelmed, there are moments when I would become emotional and start crying profusely. This book is recommended if you want to read an easy-going, happy ending book.
