Take a seat at the most sumptuous tables of the ton with over seventy recipes from the world of Bridgerton, the hugely popular Shondaland series on Netflix. The Official Bridgerton Cookbook allows you to prepare a feast worthy of Queen Charlotte herself, with dishes like Lady Featherington’s towering Salmagundi salad, stacked high with persimmon and watercress, or Colin Bridgerton’s Aegean Fasolada. For an intimate tête-à-tête, share a glass of mixed-citrus Vin d’Orangerie and browned-butter Artichokes for Two. If you long for something sweet, try Queen Charlotte’s Pink Perfection, an oversized macaron finished with fresh raspberries and edible gold, with a side of That Ice Cream, a no-churn, bourbon-cherry treat fit for the Duke of Hastings.Packed with quotes from favorite characters, show images, and fabulously photographed recipes, this gorgeous book invites fans to the Regency banquet table that is Bridgerton, with food and drink that entertains and delights.
Nice layout and pictures. This has clearly been put together for fans of the show. There's some minor interesting historical anecdotes related to food. The recipes are... well. Not much of anything I would choose to cook. Again, glad this was a library borrow and not a purchase.
This was fun to read, with lots of great pictures from the series. It’s more entertaining than useful, as many of the ingredients would be challenging to find, and the recipes would be quite complicated to prepare (I’ve been spoiled by the Pioneer Woman cookbooks that, though similar in setup, show pictures at every step of preparation… this book only shows one picture per recipe, and it’s always the finished product). I guess I just need cooks like the Bridgertons have!
Did I read every page in this book? Yes. I can’t be the only person out there that reads a cookbook cover to cover. Will I make anything in this cookbook? Absolutely not. Still a fun jaunt back to the Ton.
I was looking forward to this book because I knew it would be full of detail and hoped for photos for the food and the show. I was not disappointed and was happy to see the detail that went into the recipes including the facts of where the original recipes came from, the history behind the recipes and notes on how to bake or cook the recipes modernizing them. The only downside is getting some of the ingredients or the fact some of the recipes are for the more advanced or adventurous cooks or bakers out there! I also liked the recipes were broken down to chapters by who in the show would have had it in their homes.
The perfect spring cookbook with the most stunning food, garden, and estate photography!
The chapters are divided by families: The Bridgertons - Traditional British classic recipes The Featheringtons - Regency appropriate dishes Lady Danbury - Lighter fare & appetizers The Duke & Duchess of Hastings - Elaborate showstoppers Viscount & Viscountess Bridgerton - Indian inspired Queen Charlotte - Luxury eats
A point deducted because I didn’t really get any recipes from this. They are all pretty complicated or had odd flavor combinations, but it’s worth perusing for the photography alone especially if you love the Victoria Magazine aesthetic.
The photos in this book are beautiful, especially the ones of the food. My main complaint is that the font is so small and swooping: not cursive but more calligraphy like. Some of these recipes are 3 days of work and some of the items can’t be found at your nearest grocery store. I was expecting some Regency Era recipes but not the whole book. There’s some recipes are inspired by the characters, like Kate’s chia, but other than that it’s just standard food for the dinner of aristocrats.
Lovely photos of the Bridgerton sets and actors. At least one of the recipes is lifted from another cookbook with one or two changes. Way too much pork and shellfish for me to want to buy the cookbook. Some interesting cookies, lavender, and rose. Fussy food.
A cookbook of recipes inspired by the tv show “Bridgerton.” It breaks them into sections by household such as the Bridgertons, the Featheringtons and Lady Danbury and features lots of photos. A fun book for any fan.
The photos are beautiful but I was hoping for a larger variety of recipes and tea pairings. The series is so imaginative, but I don’t think I saw that translate to the food unfortunately.
