Of course, other genres float my boat as well; Sci-Fi, Thrillers, pretty much any Dark Fiction, but Horror is what I call home.
My first novel, Horror in the Woods, was released on in May 2017, and the second, The Demonic, on the the following July hitting multiple best seller lists. Since then, I have authored a number of horror novels that have terrified fans for the past few years.

Scary, chilling, dare I say even bone-chilling! Mr. Mountford has written a truly scary haunted house novel that grabs you like a skeletal hand and doesn't let go. The pace, the imagery, the terrifying climax will haunt you far after you've finished this tale of two sisters who have inherited the former hotel, now residence, from their dead uncle whom they barely knew. One of the sisters, Chloe was a six year old child there, but has no recollection of her time at the Perron Mansion. Oh, but the house remembers. The house remembers very well........ This is the first of a "Haunted" Series by the author. I, for one, will definitely return to the Perron for more. Once I recover from this first trip.
Honestly, the story wasn’t that great, but I’ll admit it was spooky as hell sometimes. Don’t listen to the audiobook late at night. Also, maybe don’t listen to the audiobook at all—possibly my least favorite narrative portrayal I’ve ever heard. When the two main characters are women, get a woman to narrate. It just sounds silly to have a man trying to do women’s voices—especially scared women’s voices. I will admit that my distraction with the narrator may have contributed to not liking the story…
I went into this thinking it'd be a traditional ghostly haunted house story but eventually it became clear that it was going down the demonic/Satanic/occult/gruesome etc route. Not really my cup of tea so I don't think I'll be reading the rest of the series. (I had a look at the reviews and sounds like the following books get more intense!) However that's not to say I didn't enjoy it! I was hooked. So many very creepy and chilling moments (before it went crazy at the end!). I loved the atmosphere and descriptions of the Manor, liked the characters a lot and loved Lee Mountford's storytelling.
Very well written. I don't scare easy, but this book kept me spooked, even after setting it down for the night. Monsters under the bed don't phase me, but I found myself pulling my feet in under the covers.
It's part of a series, which may be why I feel like some things were left unexplained. I intend to read the rest in the series, but my blood pressure needs a nice, calm, easy read before I delve into the next one.
This book had very good reviews - that's why I chose to read it. I thought it was well written, but not very scary at all to me. I don't understand why so many others were very frightened by the story....I liked it, read it in a few days, but looking for something more frightening....maybe more psychological? Not a fan of gore, although this book was a true ghost story which I do enjoy.
First 3/4 of the book was not scary at all. Felt A little tension building towards the end and was then like “bam…let’s kill a character.” There’s not a redemption arc for the house or any of the characters. No happy ending. Felt like half of a book. Maybe it’s a good lead in for the other 8 in the series, but idk if I’ll even read them honestly

I thought Haunted: Perron Manor was good. It was spooky but I wanted more. I felt that the majority of the book was the story of the family, which was a good story, but all of the action happened at the end.
All in all, this was a decent book. I just wanted a little more spooky.
I was between 2 and 3 stars in this one. Def some parts that scared me, especially when my dog shook and her collar jangled. I do want to know what David’s connection is because he has to have one….
DNF! Omg, so terrible I can’t stand anymore to it. Going to the donation bin for some other poor bad book victim. Slow, repetitive, explanations of such silly obvious things… just awful.
