Grim Wilds #2

Reformed Wolf

Rate this book
Not everyone is looking for their happy-ever-after, but sometimes, fate has other plans.

Alpha wolf shifter Tristan is a busy guy. As Beta for the Grim Wilds pack, his duties include helping avert near war with a neighboring pack, cabin construction he isn’t qualified for, and all manner of responsibilities he never signed up for, including babysitting his Alpha’s new little rugrat. It’s a lot to handle, which is why sometimes he just needs to blow off a little steam—preferably in the bedroom, though he’s not picky, he’ll take any flat surface. As chaotic as it is, he wouldn’t change a thing. He certainly isn’t looking for a mate, but when fate drops a sexy omega panther into his lap, who is he to say no? Even if it means reforming his bad-boy ways.

Omega panther shifter Dylan only has one job to do—look pretty—and he excels at it. His father is the Alpha of the Fairhome claw, which is kind of a big deal around here. He’s like the godfather of shifters, and everyone wants to get on his good side. After years of abstaining, it’s finally the moment Dylan has been waiting a lifetime for—his mating selection. Shifters have come from all over the world to compete for the right to join the powerful family. Only the strongest will win, so it’s a real shame that his fated mate doesn’t stand a chance—especially since Tristan is the only one his panther wants.

And it turns out fate has a sense of humor…

Reformed Wolf is the second book in the Grim Wilds series by bestselling author Trisha Linde. It’s an m/m, mpreg, shifter romance series, wrapped in magic and lore. It features an experienced alpha learning the reward for patience, a pampered city omega completely out of his element in the woods, an unlikely match of opposites that seems to defy all odds, and a competition to the bloody end. This is the price of fate.

Trisha Linde spends all her time immersed in books, both reading and writing, mainly because she lives where it’s too cold to do anything else, and what better way to keep warm than with a hot book. The first time she read mpreg, it was love at first sight, and there’s no turning back now.

When she gets older, she will likely invite strangers over for dinner, and you can bet your ass there will be sequins.

The first rule of fight club: you do not talk about fight cl... Oh wait, wrong story. lol

I am obsessed with this series.
I've mentioned before that I don't usually read shifter and mpreg, but I am so invested in this universe.
In the spare time I have between work and my kids, I am absolutely devouring these books.

I loved Tristan and Dylan, and their story was exciting and touching... and HOT 🔥

Straight on to book 3.

I quite enjoyed book 1 in this series and was excited to read this one but I didn’t expect how much I would love it and that I would like it even more than book 1! When reading the blurb I had no idea how this story was going to come together, it just didn’t make sense. But as I read the book it all came into place perfectly and made perfect sense! I loved the action and the competitiveness. Even though I knew how the competition would end up (romance with HEA! 🤣) I didn’t realize what would happen along the way!

I wasn’t sure about Tristan in book 1. I didn’t see how he would want to have a mate but the switch that was flipped fairly close to the beginning when he found his mate was wonderful and totally believable. That’s one thing I absolutely loved about fated mates, it’s like no one else exists! He was a great provider for his mate!

I loved Dylan from the very beginning. I couldn’t imagine how he felt through this competition and I’m so happy he got what he wanted in the end! The change with his father seemed a bit abrupt but I am happy it happened!

Their HEA was fantastic and I’m so excited to see more of them in the next book! And Jude’s story!! If you are a fan of fated mates, shifters, omegaverse and former playboy turned one mate man then I highly recommend this story! It could be read as a standalone but I recommend reading book 1 first!

I was not ready for the beginning of this fated romance. The things my happy go lucky...free spirited...sexy alpha wolf Tristan had to go thru to get to his kitty cat...SMH...but dang gone it! He brought it and I'm so happy they got their HEA. I enjoyed this a lot and it was entertaining. If you like the first book in this series...this one was just as great.

Reformed Wolf by Trisha Linde is the second book in her Grim Wilds series. You might want to read the first one before this as it introduces the Grim Wilds pack, how they were formed, and contains characters from it. Alpha wolf shifter Tristan is the Beta for the Grim Wilds pack. They suffered a tragedy when they were attacked and lost many of their pack members, including his mothers and sister. What was left of them went to a new place to form their pack and are living off the land making and doing everything for themselves to stay alive. While Tristan isn’t great at making things and building, he does his part. He is also a one night stand kind of guy so when Vesta, the pack’s shaman, has a vision that he has to go to the closest town of Fairhome because fate has something in store for him there, he hustles back, grabs Jude his best friend who is a loner, and heads to town and the club there. That is where he runs into Dylan, an omega panther, who is the son of the Alpha of the Fairhome Claw where he is like the godfather of shifters and everyone wants to get on his good side to get his favor. Dylan is turning 21 and is now eligible to be mated and his father has arranged a fight club where the winner will get his hand. He is not happy about this and slips out to go to the club for a last hurrah. When he meets Tristan, they both realize they are mates and Dylan knows the only way they can be together is if Tristan wins the fight, which is doubtful. He gives him a card with an address and when Tristan shows up he finds out what is going on and knows that he has to do whatever it takes to win his mate. This includes fighting many kinds of shifters including hyenas, gorillas, and an unscrupulous tiger. Also, Dylan’s father is not impressed with him but changes his tune when he sees Tristan fight and come out on top. Then he and Dylan leave for his pack and Dylan has a lot to learn as living off the land in cabins with no inside facilities is a far cry from the mansion he lived in. But he is willing to do anything for his mate and soon meets the other omegas who welcome him as do the others in the pack. He learns how to help out and when he visits Vesta he learns he is pregnant with a baby who will become a very special and valued member of their pack. Time goes on and he has a vision that saves the pack from an attack and when the baby arrives everyone is very happy. I really enjoyed this book. Tristan and Dylan come from opposite sides of the economy but they are perfect for each other and very happy together. There is some suspense involved in both the fight to win Dylan and the attack on the pack but they are able to overcome these adversities. There is some humor with the pack Alpha’s son and what he gets into as well as Tristan’s interactions with Jude and other members of the pack. Vesta adds some mystery with her visions and Dylan’s father reconciles with them and comes to help out with making conditions for the pack better. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like instant love stories about fated mates who come from different backgrounds with a little suspense and mystery thrown in.

Inconsistent characterization isn't working for me. DNF 45%

MC Tristin, total man-ho, in book 1 (where he's a secondary character/beta to the pack alpha): I will never fuck where I eat, I don't mess around with pack, I go to town for that. Too messy otherwise.

Also Tristan in book 1: (Well, Shan/MC in book 1 that is): Shan overhears Tristan and TWO pack members having a threesome in his cabin, also hears Tristan fucking a dif pack member another time. This is late in book 1 after Tristan made such a point of choosing never to do that.

Tristan in book 1 and here: I will never fall in love, I will just sleep around, because I lost the people I love most to violence and it just hurts too much

Tristan in this book: My mate's father has invited alphas here to fight to the death for the right to mate with MY fated mate, I need to impress him. Oh look, he let that alpha murder that other alpha despite my mate's pleas to spare the losing alpha...what a great guy yes I super need to impress him. (proceeds to have a laughy-jokey dinner with his mate and his mate's father who lets people's sons be murdered right in front of their fathers...)

MC 2 Dylan's father in this book: I am putting together a contest so the very strongest alpha can win my son and he won't suffer from losing his love the way I did!

Also MC 2 Dylan's father in this book: No, Dylan, I won't stop the contest even if the absolute utter abusive scary psycho is going to win because even though he'll likely abuse and torture and gaslight you for the rest of your life, I LOVE you and want you to be with someone who can PROTECT you. Who cares if you're absolutely miserable forever? 🙄🙄🙄

What the hell?! Not for me. I did enjoy most of book 1, but, skipping to book 3. The characters here are too inconsistent to make any sense. Cute connection bt rough and tumble pack in the woods Tristan and his very rich pampered mate Dylan, but...just No.

Reformed Wolf is a standalone paranormal/shape shifter m-preg/omegaverse romance by Trisha Linde. This is book two of the Grim Wilds series and so while there is some continuation in the lives of the Grim Wilds pack, they is very much a book that is completely devoted to the romance of the two MCs.

Tristan is an alpha wolf shifter, and is one of the betas of the alpha of the Grim Wilds pack. The pack was built on the remnants of the surviving members of warring packs, this series is about their trials to get their lives back on track and form a harmonious pack. Their pack lives off grid and is part of what needs to built upon. Tristan is a little lonely seeing his alpha and the alpha mate and their child. Going to the city to blow off some steam. He doesn't expect to be in the fight for his life - and for his fated mate - when they meet at a most inconvenient time.

Dylan is an omega panther shifter. His family have some pretty shady activities. And now with his birthday, his father has formed a competition - fights - to find Dylan a mate. When Dylan meets Tristan, he knows that they are fated mates but can't simply run off into the sunset with Dylan.

This is a high in violence and action steamy romance. While there is danger and the whole mating games thing seems barbaric, these two characters show a resilience and strength. Tristan and Dylan come from very different worlds and I enjoyed the fish out of water element that they both go through when they occupy the other's world. Tristan's grandmother is a great side character and I enjoyed the touch of her influence on their future and the family that they will build.

A great book two in this series. I really enjoyed the first half. It was action-packed and kept me engaged. The second half was also good, but leaned more towards Dylan and Tristan actually getting to know each other and learning how to live together and understand each other. So, a little slower, but still enjoyable.

I thought that the depiction of Dylan’s inner thoughts when he moves in with Tristan were realistic. He loves Tristan, and wants to be with him, but the move to the woods in the middle of nowhere is the exact opposite of how he’s used to living. I liked that he just doesn’t immediately accept the change, but also how Tristan acknowledges the sacrifices Dylan is making, and decides to help how he can.

Their sexy times are done really well. Better than book one, imo. I enjoyed seeing the manwhore have to wait and control his desires. I also liked seeing Dylan get to finally let loose. Their dynamic was sweet, sexy, and passionate.

There are a few errors and continuity issues, but overall, nothing too jarring. I cannot wait for Jude’s book, but I’m nervous, too, lol. I don’t do well with the rejected-mate trope 😥 This author is a great storyteller. Although the books are shorter, they draw me in and keep me engaged. And the character development of the MCs and supporting characters is great.

I loved this book so much I couldn't put it down.
Tristan is dedicated to helping his pack and enjoying being single - until fate decides to throw him a curve ball. Tristan has his work cut out for him to win the hand of his fated mate. He was never trained like an MMA fighter, but he finds the determination to do it. Unfortunately, there is some tough competition to overcome, and one particularly nasty one that sets off a chain reaction nobody expects. These fights can be vicious and sometimes deadly.
Dylan has done everything his father has ever asked of him, but decides to take a secret night out for himself before his father's competition begins - the one that sees him mated to the winner. Meeting his fated mate that night changes everything, including how Dylan responds to his father.
As it usually goes with fated mates, their connection begins to build instantly, with both men truly needing each other. They are opposites in almost every way, but they manage to work through their differences and build a beautiful life, grow their love, and have a hard earned but so worth it HEA.

I would definitely recommend this book.

This book is amazing and I loved it! Things are hard for the Grim Wilds pack and the story of Tristan and Dylan is no exception. A trip to town for Tristan, when he is sent by Vesta, the pack’s seer, will turn into so much more when he finds his fated mate. Dylan is the son of a not so legitimate business man and his father decides that there will be a contest held and the winner will get to be Dylan’s mate. But then Dylan and Tristan find each other and the trouble begins. Tristan will have to fight his way through the competitors to get his mate and it isn’t an easy battle. He will be victorious but all will not be well. Someone holds a grudge against Dylan’s father and the pack will need to protect him when retribution comes. It all ends well as Dylan and Tristan get their happily ever after. There are things that fate is still working on for them and I can’t wait to read what comes next!.

“You knew what kind of influence we would be when you decided to start a family.”

This is book 2 in Trisha Linde's latest series Grim Wilds. OMG it was soooo good. When I saw book 2 on Booksprout I couldn't click on it fast enough. Book 1 was delish but this one was something else.

This story is about Tristan, the pack's Beta, who is definitely NOT looking for a mate or to settle down. Fate has something else in mind for him and just like that, all his plans go up in smoke when he meets Dylan at a shifters only club. What a wild ride poor unsuspecting Tristan is in for. I'm not giving any details away, no spoilers here.

If you haven't read book one backup and read it first, you will not be disappointed. This series is so good and I can't wait for Joo-Joo's (Jude's) story in book 3. This series just keeps getting better and better.

Fated mates, opposites attract, Vesta sees all, more babies, a heartbroken parent that doesn't act in their omega son's best interest

it was fiiiine. maybe I expected too much from it or something too different.
did I care about fights in first half of the book? not much. did I like sex scenes? meh, I skipped them after their first time.
the book had so much interesting side characters but they had one-time appearance and then forgotten.
my biggest disappointment was that this book followed the formula of first book too closely:
the source of omega's problem was omega's father. then alpha-mc swoops in, saves the omega, they have uninteresting sex, in last ~12% mini crisis happens and omega gives birth on a fucking forest floor.
I hope I will enjoy Jude's book more. this one was fine, but I feel like Tristan and Dylan had much more potential.
author even skipped how city omega tried to get used to living in woods. it just happened. with help of timeskip.

edit: I just remembered that I did NOT like omega's father even for 1 second. he didn't care about his son's happiness even if he was trying to frame it as "I do it for your own good". and then near the end he became all sweet and loving father and nobody called him out on his previous stupid as shit decisions?
he could have saved hyena-son so then hyena-dad wouldn't attack mc's camp. he could have said that tiger won and has to release hyena or will be disqualified. HE IS the organizer and rule maker of this fighting tournament, but acts as if his hands are tied. hate him. simply hate him.

Tristan helped his alpha with anything he was asked to do and kept busy so one day he delivered things to Vesta their shaman who told him that he had to go to the city so he took Jude with him. They went to Tristan’s usual bar his wolf said mate and saw Dylan who snuck out the night before the fight competition to see who would be his mate but he found his mate in Tristan. When he left the bar he gave Tristan an address but Tristan didn’t realize why until he got there that he had to fight for his mate. After the fight he sent Jude home in case he was killed so nothing would happen to Jude but Jude ended coming with their alpha who kept him going after Tristan had been poked in his hand and injected with diamondback venom and won. Dylan went to his home but he adjusted to the different ways they lived later Tristan talked Dylan’s father into helping the pack financially. Good book!.

This was a very enjoyable story about justice and fighting for what is right. This book is full of action and some pretty dark things happen in the story, but Tristan who is the beta of his pack, and one night, discovers Dylan, and knows that he needs to fight to have him in his life. Dylan’s father was a dishonest businessman, and he put up Dylan as the prize for the one who, won a fight for him. Dylan and Tristan are able to work through the trials that they are destined to have before everything works out,
with the help of fate in showing them that they are fated mates. They have their work cut out for them, but eventually they are able to have their happily ever after. I’m not going to tell you any more about the story you will need to read it for yourself and enjoy it as I did.

I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and I am reviewing with my honest and fair opinion.

"He’s all I can see. He’s the air I breathe, the water that sustains me, the food that nourishes my soul... How can you argue against fate?”

I loved this book. It was a fun adventure. A playboy wolf who finds his fated mate... and then learns he'll have to fight MMA-style cage matches- potentially to the death- against his mate's other suitors who are trying to win a favored place in the Caruso family. Alpha Tristan and omega Dylan are from opposite walks of life- Dylan from luxury and Tristan very far from it. Tristan fights hard for his and Dylan's future and it was exciting to read. I also loved that he was honorable and it showed. The chemistry between him and Dylan was sizzling and the banter fun.

“Your nemesis is a chicken? That’s really sad."

I loved the supporting characters, too, and pack family. Unexpectedly, I also really liked Dylan's father. A wonderful story and I can't wait for the next in this series. 5 stars.

The blurb sets up this tale of woods-dwelling wolf shifter alpha Tristan and city-dwelling panther shifter omega Dylan, fated mates, but it won’t happen easily. Dylan’s mating is up for competition, winner gets him, and even though Tristan had no expectation of having a mate, he will definitely fight for Dylan. Since this is a romance and they are the MCs, Tristan may have won but all is not easy from there. Lifestyle, environment, family and the past are challenges to overcome to build the family and home that they hope to achieve.

Interesting, stubborn, relatable characters, willing to fight for their pack, home and family, action-packed sequences throughout, some steamy spicy scenes, a shaman, and fate all play a part in reaching for their HEA. Not a long read but an entertaining one.

Tristin is a wolf alpha who likes to let loose whenever he’s able to go into the city for supplies for his pack. By going into town he’s able to eat fast food, have electricity at his fingertips and take a hot shower whenever he wants to. But he wouldn’t change living in the forest for city life at all.

Seeing a sexy omega at a bar and realizing they’re fated mates, things go quickly to kissing, but the omega gives him a card and says to come to the address the next night. Little did Tristian know that there was to be fights over becoming the omegas alpha. Beating off the other shifter alphas for Dylan is all Tristian can do.

This is a continually evolving story that involves future characters and past ones too. Left on a HFN.

The main characters in this second book of the Grim Wilds series,
are Tristan and Dylan. Tristan is an alpha wolf shifter, and beta of Grim Wilds pack.
Dylan is an omega panther shifter, and the son of the alpha of Fairhome claw.

This is a fast-paced entertaining mpreg romance, with plenty of descriptive,
and action-packed scenes.
Some of the additional elements I enjoyed include:
* Opposites attraction
* Virgin main character.
* Found family.
* Fated mates.
* Lots of emotion and spice
* Pregnancy and natural childbirth.

I also really loved seeing the antics of Malachi, Shan and Brody's toddler son.
Totally looking forward to the next book in this fun series, which features
Jude!

Alpha wolf Tristan is a beta in the grim wilds pack and not one that is ready to settle down. On a supply run he goes to a club for a little fun and scents his mate. Omega panther Dylan is just a pawn to his dad. Pampered but locked away Dylan sneaks out for his birthday to go to a club. Fate has definitely spoken when it comes to Dylan and Tristan. So much chemistry but they must overcome many obstacles, a literal fight club and many differences. Well written, action packed, steamy, amazing side characters, cute babies and a fabulous HEa.

Excellent story! Dylan, is the omega son of the alpha, whom some think is a big deal. Dad, decides it is time for Dylan to take a mate, so there will be a contest for his hand. Tristan, is an alpha working as his pack's beta. He enjoys living his best life as a single virile alpha. He runs into Dylan on a trip to town and his fate is sealed. They are mates and Tristan will have to fight many competitors to win his mate in a contest to satisfy his Dad. Two likeable guys facing known and unknown challenges. The contest is brutal, but that is not the end of conflicts. Hot cover art! Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I really enjoyed this story, this is one of my favourite tropes and it's so beautifully written.
The connection between Tristan and Dylan is deep and all consuming and the way the pack protects and loves each other as a family is exactly how shifter stories should be written.
Im looking forward to reading the other books in the series, although I didn't need to read book 1 before reading this.
A bit of drama, some action, lots of romance and some steamy scenes. An absolutely brilliant read!.

Reformed Wolf is the second book in the Grim Wilds series. This book could be read as a standalone but in my opinion it is best read after Runaway Wolf the first book in the series. This is Tristan an alpha wolf shifter and Dylan an omega panther shifters story. These two are truly opposites in all ways but fate has decided they are mates. This is another great book in the series. So much happens in the book but I'm not going to tell you what because I don't want to spoil it for you. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

Tristan the Playboy wolf finally finds his mate Dylan. The thing about Tristan is he acted like a Playboy to cover up the pain from the loss of his family and pack. Dylan's father was offering him up to the most ruthless Alpha to win several fights. This was an amazing book. Mal had me in cheers from laughing so hard when he was repeating the new word she learned. I love Vesta and the thought of her being no more breaks my heart. And I can't wait for Jude to get his happily ever after.

Tristan is a country alpha, Dylan is a city omega. Tristan is hard working, Beta for his pack. Dylan is a spoiled brat. Tris is a wolf, Dylan is a panther. Of course Fate thinks they were perfect mate material. But they aren't going down without a fight.
A very sweet book. A little snarky. A teeny bit of angst. Lots of steam. Good worldbuilding and strong secondaries. This is the second in a series. Looks like book three is gonna be great. Can't wait.

This is a well written book with strong characters in Tristan and Dylan. The author does a great job developing the story as well as their relationship. She takes you into their lives with connection, determination and love, moves the story fluidly with her descriptive scenes and delivers a terrific read.

Tristan was a wolf shifter, footloose and fancy free until he met his fated mate - an Omega panther shifter Dylan. Forced to fight to the death for him, he brings Dylan home to the Grim Wild pack. Tristan is big and tender and so enraptured with the spoiled but needy Dylan who won't stand up to his changeable Dad. There is danger and surprises in store for the pack and a HFN ending with another book to follow. I received a copy of this book and this is my voluntary opinion.

Wolves, Panthers, and knots oh my! I loved reading this book. Trisha Linde has created a cool setting and I can't wait to see what she brings next. Shifters fighting for dominance, finding your fated mate, sloppy sweaty sex. It's all here! You feel for Tristan and Dylan! Trisha tells a good story and you ride the emotions with the characters. You don't want to miss this one.

I enjoyed this book. The Grim Wilds pack lives a little rough but they are family through and through. Dylan and Tristan don’t have your typical courtship but fate doesn’t lie. I love the found family vibes and these guys are easy to care about. This is an enjoyable read.
