"You asked for this, sunshine. And payback is a bitch."

Knox Whiteshaw.
NHL Golden Boy.
What he didn't expect was for Aurora McGovern to come back into his life.
After what happened he hoped never to see her again.
But now that she's here, he'll make sure that she regrets it.
It's just a matter of who breaks first.

"Under no circumstances is Aurora McGovern to get anything she wants."

"She's fucking putty in my hands, and she doesn't even realize it."

Aurora McGovern.
Best Selling romance author. Fiancé of Colorado Titan's goalie. Oh and also wife of Knox Whiteshaw.
He has been holding a grudge since their childhood.
And he isn't planning on letting it go.
Her future, her wedding, her wellbeing…
Knox Whiteshaw is the hurricane that will ruin everything.
But will she ruin him before he gets the chance?

"Whatever Knox thinks about me, however he envisions this going… I will derail it. I guess, in a way, let the show begin."

I received an advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.

"I promise you that, sunshine. You're going to know true darkness when I'm done with you. But you'll be safe from all the demons in the world. Except me."

Yes!! We have it people we have Knox Whiteshaw's story!!!
Still cannot believe I received an ARC for this.
This series is one of my favorite series of all time!! It is amazing, it is dark, it is a hockey romance, it is obsession to the highest degree and we love that!
This is really bittersweet because it is one of my favorite series and I am so sad that it is ending but I am also so excited for what S. Massery has in store for us in the future 😏😏😏

"You're just as depraved as me, I think. Shall we find out?"

First let's start with Knox Whiteshaw.
For the people that have read this series you know that Knox was in desperate need of some recon.
After Willow and "Secret Obsession" and everything IYKYK
I will not spoil anything but I will say that we got a lot of Knox in this book and I am not complaining one bit.
Now you may say "no duh this is Knox's book" and to that I say "duh I know" but what I am saying is that we got a lot of Knox…
I know it's the same line but bear with me.
You are going to want to read this book!! You are going to want to read about Knox!!

"Everything about her is designed to test my willpower."

Aurora McGovern.
Certified motherfucking badass!!
I love her so so so so much.
She can run over me with her hockey skates honestly and I would bow at her feet.
She takes none of Knox's shit and she has comebacks for days. FOR DAYS PEOPLE!!!
It is addicting to read!
And she is a romance author so automatic win for me.

"I hope you don't judge yourself against other guys' dicks in the locker room, Know. If I didn't know better, I'd thinks that's where your complex comes from."

Now this playlist is giving heavy enemies to lovers and we love that for us 😘😘

When making a move to Denver to be with her fiancé, author Aurora McGovern doesn’t expect to run into her husband.

Knox Whiteshaw, golden boy of the Denver Titans is living his best life until he spots his wife.

I mean… Knox Motherfcukìng Whiteshaw brought it. And so did Sara. I have loved this series so much and this final installation did not disappoint.

5 STARS
I don’t want to kiss her, but I’m pretty sure I’ll stop breathing if I’m not inhaling her scent. If I’m not tasting her.

You know when you meet a character you hate but also can't wait to fall in love with? A character that you become completely obsessed with over the course of a series as a secondary character that you can't wait to see finally fall to his knees for a woman? A character that you anticipate so hard that the actual book can't possibly live up to the anticipation? Well I'm happy to announce that Knox didn't live up to my expectations. Why? Because he blew them away. And this? This just may be my all new favorite book in the Hockey Gods series. S. Massery really said, leave the best for last with this one and OH MY GOD IT WAS EPIC>
You’re going to know true darkness when I’m done with you. But you’ll be safe from all the demons in the world. Except me.”

Knox Whiteshaw has been a guy I loved to hate throughout the Hockey Gods series. And ever since his cruel game with Willow in Secret Obsession, I couldn't wait for the woman who would bring this playboy to his knees. I just didn't anticipate for that to be his wife...of 6 years. Yep. You read that right.

Ever since the ending of Twisted Obsession, I have been feral for Knox's book. A wife? The manwh0re who never gives a woman more than a nigh of his attention, unless he's playing her for a bet, has a wife? Color me intrigued. But when I tell you that nothing prepared me for the emotional punch that this story brought.
Her chest heaves. “I hate you.”
“Good. Because I’m going to kiss you, and I expect you to fight back.”

Knox has been the stereotypical f-boy throughout this series. But we finally got to see a peak into the heart of him in the last book. I was dying to peel back all of his complex layers but I wasn't prepared to fall for him as hard as I did.

Now I'm not going to spoil this by giving you details on his story because, trust me, you don't want to know more than what was revealed in the previous book. Do yourself a favor and go in completely blind. But what I will say is that I couldn't imagine a more perfect FMC to bring him to his knees than Aurora; his childhood best friend who he lives to hate now.

Aurora has no idea that her husband who refuses to grant her the divorce she's been begging for has recently been traded to the Titans until she runs into him during a game. And to say that neither is thrilled to see the other is a mild understatement. The tension, the chemistry, the hate lust between these two is EVERYTHING. Everything I tell you. I gobbled it up with a spoon nd licked my fingers after because it was SO DELICIOUS.

S Massery seriously knows how to deliver one h*ll of an addictive read and I couldn't imagine a more perfect book to close the series with. Fierce Obsession was everything it promised with the title. But could you expect anything less from Knox Whiteshaw? I think not.

And the spinoff to the next hockey series? OHMYGAWD. I need it. HARD. Desperately. IMMEDIATELY.
*giggles* That's what she said. But I digress again.

All of the stars! Read it immediately. And if you haven't read this series than we can't be friend until you do. That is all. Thank me after. Kthanksbye.

*audiobook

This one sucked, not gonna lie...

The first reason is that it was boring as fuck.

The second reason Aurora and Knox had zero chemistry.

The third reason is the scene when Aurora got beat up to a pulp and Knox found her and he... you could say ...under-reacted.

Like isn't this the woman you love?

Even in enemies-to-lovers books, when the mmc finds out the fmc he "hates" is hurt, he goes ballistic, as he should...

I don't know what type of romance book mmc doesn't go unhinged and goes for the kill after the fmc gets physically hurt by someone... especially by a man. Like...?

Fourth reason, which is an echo of the second reason ... the smut sucked.

And not in a good way.

The tension wasn't there... the whole "i thought you slept with my brother" thing could maybe have worked, but it certainly didn't work here...

Plus i didn't like the fmc... she was sooooo passive.

Hard Knox!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙❤️💜💚
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍
Character development: 😄🙂🥰☺️😋
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration type: Dual Narration

The Hero: Knox Whiteshaw - Knox hasn’t been a very nice guy in the past books, though he is a good friend, and he loves his brother Miles. He is just not very good to women; he uses them and is very selfish in his interactions with them. Miles won’t speak to him because Knox dated Willow for over a year then dumped her after winning a bet to make her fall in love with him, all along knowing that Miles had feelings for Willow. Then he exchanged Willow for Miles when her stalker kidnapped Miles. Now he is a hockey player in the NHL, and he has a whole new set of problems.

The heroine: Aurora McGovern - she grew up living next door to Knox Whiteshaw. Though she was younger. Her dad was the coach for the young kids, and she loved hockey. She was even better than both Knox and his brother Miles. Though that was before she got sick, she had a bad heart. She though getting sick was her lowest, but she had no idea how much worse things could get.

The Story: At the age of 23, Aurora successfully launched a book that went viral. She liked to stay in the shadows though. She lived in New York for a while but had recently moved to Denver to be closer to her best friend. One-night she goes out to a bar and was drinking quite a bit, when she hears some men talking about rigging a hockey game between the Titans and the Guardians. She ended up going to the game, and Knox sees her there. She is the girl he married and refuses to divorce, and she happens to be engaged to his teammate.

I couldn’t wait until Knox’s book. I liked the fact that he was a jerk who treated women like they didn’t matter. I wanted him to fall and fall hard, so he could finally figure out how much they do matter. I was surprised to find out how nice he was to Aurora when they were teenagers. Though maybe what happened between them caused him to treat women the way he did.

This series has been weird, it started out with a Hero that was pretty deviant and obsessive and with each book, the Heroes seemed to get worse and worse. I kind of expected Knox to be the worst of them all, especially after the way he treated Willow. However, Knox turned out to be the best of the bunch when it came to the Heroes in this series. He was definitely obsessed with his wife and when she had health issues, he was actually very sweet.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Stella Hunter. Both Teddy and Stella are terrific narrators. I have listened to a bunch of books each of them has narrated and they always do a stellar job, this book was no different. Both these narrators sound like they are voice acting more than just reading or narrating, which is what I love in a narrator.

Feb. 17, 2024:

DNF at 29% so take what I say with a grain of salt. Perhaps it does actually go batshit crazy.

In the Hockey God series, 2 out of 5 books were phenomenal (Brutal Obsession and book:Twisted Obsession|169483125]), with 1 of them being a huge dark sports romance favourite (ugh Jacob <3)

I sort of get the feeling that Massery didn't really want to write something dark, and I also felt like she struggled with it too due to the character of Knox himself. I am completely speculating based on the books themselves. I haven't read all of the books, but Knox gave off this f**kbro/golden retriever persona that was, to be honest, not a turn on at all. Like, we know all the heroes are immature but I at least want the *illusion*

I loved the pieces but they didn't fit:

-Knox's secret marriage.
-Knox's wife, Aurora is now fiance to his goalie teammate.
-Aurora's different now, much more badass.

It doesn't work because unlike Jacob and Melody in the previous book, whose love arc is also second chances a la amnesia, there is no suspense to their relationship. I do not really care about their backstory because their present vibes didn't feel intense, deep, obsessive. It's matter-of-fact.

The fiance thing is quickly broken up with with no angst wrung out of it. I will give it to Massery for oral with OM but other than that, it's a relatively uncomplicated relationship in and out.

I think it's easy for authors to write a romance where the hero is dominating and the heroine is submissive. It is really hard for authors to write a romance where the hero is dominating and the heroine gives it back as good as she's got.

I've read too many romances where the author is either trying to prove a feminist point, or ends up showing her inner misogynist by punishing the heroine. Here, I find the moments when Aurora shocks Knox somewhat awkward. There's just something that doesn't strike the right tone. I don't really buy Aurora as a badass and I think Knox looks kinda dumb. I like it when heroines are sassy and best the hero, so for me to say this is something I'm grappling with.

Anways. I just feel like when you have these intense covers, intense titles, and label as dark, then there should be angst, suspense. There should be some strong feeling. There should be lines crossed.

It doesn't mean checking off kinks.

I did buy all of Massery's Hockey Gods series because my obsession was brutal and twisted. I will certainly keep an eye out for her newer books, even if I may go with the excerpt first :P

Feb. 10, 2024: Highly anticipating this release especially after how amazing the last book was. If this one turns out to be a dud (Knox’s characterization has been all over the place in the books I did finish), I’m going to reread the last book.

I’ve always had a thing for the bad boy. How could I not? I was practically guaranteed to fall for the wrong guy—I’ve got a defective heart, after all. It’s only fair to assume it would lead me astray in love when it can’t even beat properly.

Aurora McGovern.
The bestselling author.
Married to Knox Whiteshaw.
Desperate for a divorce.
How far is she willing to go to get what she wants?

“You’re not going to marry him. You can’t.”
“No? There isn’t anything you want in exchange for my freedom?”
“No, sunshine. Knowing you’re chained to me is the sweetest joy I know.”

Knox Whiteshaw.
The upcoming NHL star.
After a trade, he runs into her wife.
The wife who betrayed him when they were in high school.
She wants a divorce, he will do anything he can to not give in to her.

I do want to stay married, right?
But like… not just to torture her. Because I think I might actually be falling for her. Again.

Hockey Gods is one of my all-time favorite series and I was so excited for Knox’s book. There are not too many dark hockey romances that are actually really well written and S. Massery has managed to master this trope. All of the books in the series have been bangers and I was so excited for Knox’s book. That’s probably the main reason for why I was so disappointed in it.

That’s what happens when you have high expectations, right?

“You’re going to be the death of me.”
“You’ve already killed me a few times. By the way, the paperwork came back.”
“Paperwork?”
“The name change, Aurora Whiteshaw.”
“Oh, fuck. I think I like the sound of that.”
“Good. Because it’s not reversible.”
“You think?”
“I know. It’s like superglue. Never coming off, sunshine.”

I feel like all the darkness and bully-aspect that I loved in the other Hockey Gods book were missing in this one. Yes, Knox did definitely not make it easy for Aurora but, at the same time, he was like a tame watered-down version of the Knox who was willing to date Willow for a year just to get her to admit she loved him. At least now we know he did it to get back at Miles.

This book was definitely more focused on Aurora than Knox whereas all the other Hockey Gods books were more focused on the MMCs.

“You’re going to come in here and assault me?”
“Are you going to tell me you don’t secretly like it? Don’t you write about this in your book, sunshine? The villain does despicable things to the girl, but she’s okay with it. She’s Stockholm Syndromed into giving a shit about him. And they live happily ever fucked-up after.”

I was so excited to do a deep-dive into Knox’s head, to see what makes him tick and to know why he did what he did with Willow. I guess in a way, I got my wish. On the other hand, it was not the deep-dive I was expecting or hoping for.

Aurora stumbled into a wrong conversation which ended up getting her bullied and scared alright, it was just not because of Knox. I would have wanted for Knox to really make her life hell and bully her as all the other MMCs did. Instead, he really was like her knight in shining armor. I think in any other book, I would have been all for it but because of all the other MMCs in Hockey Gods, I was expecting (and let’s be honest, hoping for) Knox to be the one terrorizing her.

She bites me again. On the shoulder, hard enough to draw blood.
Ow.
I look down at it, at the way she broke skin.
But it doesn’t dull my appetite for her. Really, it just cements that we’re soul mates.

I think Aurora was badass, even if she was a tad bit too stupid and reckless at times. I loved how despite all the past baggage between Aurora and Knox, they just couldn’t resist each other. Aurora cheating on her fiancé with Knox was just the icing on the cake.

I loved how the old gang banded together again to resolve matters. Boy did I also love seeing Joel as the villain although I was not a fan of how he had deceived Aurora all this time.

The best side character, that we did not already know from other Hockey Gods books was definitely Camden Church and I cannot wait for the new series and his books! I love how S. Massery always teases the next book at the end of the previous one, it’s like tamer Taylor Swift mastery.

I received an ARC of Fierce Obsession as a member of the author's ARC team

• • • • •

This is so bittersweet and I am so conflicted. I am sad to see the Hockey Gods end, a bit disappointed in how it ended but cannot wait for Camden Church's book!!

KNOX, I AM READY FOR YOU!!

This is one of my most anticipated releases (and ARCs) for the beginning of this year 🤩

What a way to close out a series 💛

S. Massery killed it as usual with Aurora and Knox. The angst, the hate, the insults, the SPICE 🫠, honestly everything was perfect 🩷

To think just 2 books ago I absolutely despised Knox to my very core, and now I love him so god damn much it hurts. He's an ass in every sense of the word but also genuinely a lovable idiot who has 2 brain cells that are both on PTO (trust me, it will make sense).

Aurora and Knox's relationship is a tremulous one and that's putting it nicely, but watching them grow from the pain of the past was amazing and I couldn't of asked for a better finish to a great series 💛

Let’s just say Knox finally got his redemption & then some 😍👏🏼 I know this is a huge unpopular opinion, but I’ve always liked Knox. Sure he’s made some mistakes and been a complete a$$ at times, but I’ve always liked him nonetheless. (Miles is still my fave though 🤭). Knox & Aurora were perfect together and I’m so glad they got their HEA.

This is the fifth and final book in the Hockey Gods series following Knox & Aurora who grew up as childhood friends. Aurora starts experiencing problems with her health & her family can’t afford all of the medical bills, Knox steps up and offers to marry Aurora in order for her to have access to better healthcare and insurance. However, things quickly take a turn when Knox gets ahold of some information & suddenly leaves. Leaving Aurora behind. Fast forward six years and they’re still married & Knox refuses to sign divorce papers. That’s a problem when Aurora is engaged to another man… who also happens to be Knox’s new teammate.

I can’t recommend this series enough! I’m so mad that it’s over but I can’t wait to see what’s in store next. Thank you to @authorsmassery & her team for the ARC!

Adored her. This girl is fire and I loved her. She is relatable, confident and funny. I enjoyed every chapter from her pov.

Not a big fan of his character. He acts like a jealous little boy and can‘t communicate straight forward with Aurora.

✥ 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌
Another thrilling book in this series but sadly not a worthy end. First: I absolutely love the writing style of the author and the way you can dive in the story as a reader. I went through a lot of different emotions while reading and that‘s what a good book is about.
Knox and Aurora are like ice and fire. They have amazing tension and their banter is hilarious. Still I had my problems with Knox behaviour and I hated the miscommunication trope. The whole drama was so unnecessary and it would have been solved if Knox just talked to Aurora. He treats her very poorly in the beginning and I didn‘t like him at all. The last 100 pages saved his character because he finally shows his real feelings toward Aurora. I liked that Aurora is fierce and knows what she wants, she is the perfect match for Knox. I rooted for her the whole book and she is my favourite woman in this book series.
Overall this was an entertaining and enjoyable read but the tropes (miscommunication and the fact Aurora is engaged to Knox teammate) bugged me. In my opinion this could have been done better. Aurora and the last 100 pages saved this book otherwise this would be 3 stars or less.

»I married her, I get to keep her. I called dibs. That's basically what marriage is, after all.«

could have been more obsession lite

Another book where the mmc can be manho but the fmc has to stay virginal. Ho hum…..
Wouldn’t be such a deal except they were childhood sweethearts and he lost his card to a puck bunny, dated his brothers eventual woman for a year and even did a waitress in the same bathroom he confronted fmc after not seeing her for 6 years. All while being married to fmc and not giving her a divorce. Like jeez. It wasn’t even really written well. His brothers book was so dark this was like lite obsession.
Knox was such a weak character. Disappointing.

It’s the end of an era, and what a ride it was!

Knox Whiteshaw, you big, beautiful~gossiping~golden-retriever who never heard a secret he didn’t race to tell-asshole, I love you so much!

I’ve said all along that Knox was going to be the dark horse of the hockey god boys, and when you’re lucky you’re lucky, because I was correct!

Knox and Aurora have the very best kind of chemistry, and the painful, almost desperate yearning that Knox constantly fights feeling for her, took the angst and tension of this installment to another level, for me.
Gone was the uber confident and playful hockey player,as he was replaced with a vulnerable, almost lovesick boy next-door, who never got over the love of his life, and who refused to sign divorce papers, intent on never severing the final tether to his childhood sweetheart.

Having seen Knox’s relationship/camaraderie with Melody in Jacob’s book, the readers knew of his selflessness and ability to form meaningful friendships, but to see him be so caring and generous at such a young age with Aurora further cemented my love for his character, and I’m so glad that we got to see a softer side of him.

Watching Knox and Aurora grow together as adults into the kind of couple who can face any adversity after what they have been through, was such a pleasure.
Additionally, the key moments between Knox and Miles and the retrieval of their brotherly affection made me shed an actual tear. Those scenes were so pivotal to them moving on, & into a future where they’re both happy and healed. Making way for success in their own lives, and reconnecting as brothers. It was a thing of beauty. While I’m sad that this series is over, knowing that all the characters have been taken care of, and given their happily ever after means that I can part with them on a happy note.
The series given me a lot of laughs, gasps, and hot and spicy moments that I will forever remember. This is a must read, and an easy five star read. Well done.

And I love that we finally see Knox and Miles get through their differences and knowing why Knox did everything he did.

Knox Whiteshaw is a cocky hockey God with a chip on his shoulder. He's a bit of a manwhore who never sticks around for more than one night. He once fell for his childhood friend and neighbor, Aurora, who eventually became his wife. He feels that Aurora betrayed him. Now, he hates her. She left and he thought Aurora and the emotions she evoked in him were in the past. She's back, and he's determined to make her life hell. The only problem is that he can't deny that he's still attracted to her.

Aurora McGovern is a successful romance author. She's had a hard life, but she's fought and survived through sickness and hurt. She's been down, but never out. She's a fighter! She hasn't seen Knox in 6 years and now, they're living in the same city and they're forced to be around each other again. She won't allow Knox Whiteshaw to ruin everything for her. Not when she's making a fresh start in a new city with her new fiancé. All she needs to do is get Knox to sign the divorce papers. Fate and other factors step in to put a wrench in Aurora's plans.

Hate to love relationship between Knox and Aurora was everything I was hoping for - I'm still feeling goosebumps all over. Passion and hatred is the true fuel for this couple, they made me stay awake all night long because I couldn't stop myself from reading.

🫣spoiler alert**** no cop or hospital would NOT flag auroras injuries… and now there’s two cover ups? It’s just a bit far stretched for me.🫣

Can't wait to read Camden's book next.

This was the most unexpected journey of the entire Hockey Gods series. Seriously. Who knew Knox was actually a golden retriever all along?!? I knew my favorite anti-hero was holding out on us!!

Fierce Obsession is a marriage of convenience, enemies to lovers with second chance and some serious spice. Although I believe in the whole series this one has the least amount of spice at around 3 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I’ve been feral for Knox’s story since Brutal Obsession. He’s been my favorite the whole series (although Miles definitely pulled a hold my beer moment in Secret Obsession). Something always seemed off about his relationship with Willow and his brother, and this book finally gives us all the answers we needed. And boy was the drama worth the wait!

Aurora/Sunny is the most worthy of love interests for Knox. I secretly wanted him to be on the receiving end of bully behavior, given his antics throughout this series, and Sunny did not disappoint. She knew every button to push and did so with reckless abandon. It was a delight to read.

These couples are always perfectly matched and Sunny & Knox are absolutely a match made in heaven. These two have the most complex history that compels the story all along. At every pass I was actively rooting for these two and they earned their HEA.

We get so many great group moments and I loved seeing Sunny join the other girls as the obsessions of our dark anti-hero’s. I was really looking forward to Knox & Miles finally becoming brothers again, and we finally get some healing. Also, spoiler, Knox is a total mamas boy, like I said, who knew he was really a cuddly golden retriever all along.

Knox was all along a scared and heartbroken man who was the victim of some serious miscommunication. I’m so glad he got his HEA. And I couldn’t imagine a better love for him than Sunny.

My gratuitous reminder that this is a dark romance. It’s dark. Do your homework and check those triggers and content warnings! S Massery is amazing at listing this information in the books and on her website.

Thank you so much S Massery and Valentine PR for providing me with an arc. This was one of my most anticipated reads of 2024 and I loved every minute of it

Signed up for an arc as soon as I could. I’m gonna cry if I don’t get it.

Knox? Yep, this is the one.

Oh friends, after finishing the arc for Twisted Obsession, and being served the greatest of breadcrumbs for Knox’s love interest, I can safely say I know this will be a 5 star book for me.

Knox (MMC) and Aurora (FMC)

This book was milder compared in terms of 🌶 compared to the other ones in the series. I didn't like Knox as an MMC, who was angry with Aurora based on some unfounded information. Also, he's meant to be married to Aurora and super into her, but he'd never read any of her books or anything she's published before? He seemed to me like a stubborn meathead without a lot between his ears... 🙄

Aurora was also not my favorite FMC in the series, but at least she was fiesty and didn't allow Knox to walk all over her (metaphorically speaking - better clarify because in dark romance books you never know 😆 ). She's honest and strong, even though she has a heart condition. She used to be an athlete, but besides this, she doesn't seem to have much else in common with Knox.

The plot was alright, but I got bored halfway through the book. Hope you'll enjoy it more than I did.

Happy reading! 📚

This is one of my most anticipated books of this year and it didn´t disappoint.
Knox was someone i was exited to read, i wanted to know more about him and why he does the things he does. Let me say, that he is my favourite in this series. I fell in love with him the when i started reading this book.
When i finished the book Twisted Obsession i KNEW that he was going to be my favourite, because the way that she introduced his story was everything.
Then we have Aurora, who i love so much and she is also one of my favourites characters. She is Knox´s wife, an best selling romance author and so special incredible and strong.
When i started reading this book i knew that they were going to be in my heart forever.

Angst: 😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥

I have absolutely loved this series and Fierce Obsession did not disappoint. I've been waiting for Knox Whiteshaw's story and BOY was there a story to tell! Totally explained a lot about his past behavior with Willow... The storyline on this one was pretty original. I don't want to give it away, but I definitely hadn't seen that one coming. There is a ton of resentment that needs to be worked through and some miscommunication (NOT my favorite trope). Great conclusion to the series - I'm super sad to see it end, but can't wait to see what's next for this author!

What a way to end the Hockey Gods series.
This book surprised me in the best way.
I have honestly been dreading reading this final book, because I never thought Knox would get a true redeemable arc in my eyes. He definitely did though!

Never in my life did I think Knox would be so fucking funny. I was legit cackling through this entire book.
I love that you got to see the real Knox in this. Flaws and all, but I mostly love that he truly met his match in Aurora. She really went toe to toe with him. Did not back down once. Even after certain ✨activities✨ she had to make sure his head didn’t get too big and it had me dying. Aurora is 100% my favorite FMC in this series.

Their banter was truly hilarious and top tier, but at the end of the day Knox is a big softie when it comes to her. He would do anything for her.

The nickname ‘Sunny/Sunshine’ really did it for me.
It was so freaking sweet!!! 🥹

And of course, we can’t forget ‘Knox Jr’!
This honestly shouldn’t shock me. It was nice to meet the “little” guy. 😂

Some favorite quotes:

“You can play vicariously through me, Sunny. Every time I’m on the ice, I’m skating for you.”

“I’ll save you and condemn you, I promise you that, sunshine. You’re going to know true darkness when I’m done with you. But you’ll be safe from all the demons in the world. Except me.”

“She’s so fucking pretty I just can’t stand it. In the pettiest of ways, I want to drag a knife down her cheeks and permanently scar her, just so only I find her beautiful. So no other guy is tempted to look at her.”

“I hate you.”
“Good. Because I’m going to kiss you, and I expect you to fight back.”

“Either way, I’ll be here to put our pieces back together.”

- Childhood friends to lovers

Oh Knox, you weren't supposed to be redeemable. But you've pulled at all my heart strings ❤️

This is the book I never knew I needed. The redemption, the banter the laughs, the angst and everything in between.

I'm incredibly sad that the Hockey Gods series is over, but what a way to go out with a BANG!!

I am completely ruined by KNOX Whiteshaw never would I expected him to be Husband material!

KNOX Whiteshaw has redeemed himself in this book and he made my CRY! Definitely did not expect him to act as the husband of the YEAR! I read the Hockey Gods series and I absolutely got pissed off at him. Sure his actions were inexcusable, but IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW! It all goes full circle when you read his book.

After reading Fierce Obsession, I was like this is the tamest book among the Hockey Gods. Like all of the others were DARK, DARK , DARK, but this was just… MY HEART, my heart definitely goes out to KNOX WHITESHAW. The sacrifices he made for our girl Aurora.

I usually dislike the miscommunication trope with so much passion, but I definitely would go past that for Knox Whiteshaw. This book changed my mind. I would definitely go the distance for this man. Yes, it still had the dark elements of the hockey gods, you still get to see cameos of the previous characters, but this book. Sara, this was the perfect ending to the series. I can’t wait for the new series!

I just can’t get over this book now. It’s totally my favorite next to Greysons.

Didn’t expect to like Knox’s story as much as a I did!
Def check for trigger warnings as with the rest of the series, but I liked getting to know him more and his more sensitive side because he was always portrayed as a jerk and unfeeling.
