After You: Perfectly Imperfect Series

Rate this book
Chloe’s life has always been about sacrifice and selflessness, but it takes an unexpected turn when she falls in love with Jase at nineteen. He inspires her to pursue her dream of writing, but not without strain on their relationship.

Three years later, when her family seek her out for financial help, she reluctantly leaves the town of Tulley Junction and her first love behind, causing unforgivable heartbreak.

Starting over in Eden Valley, Chloe faces new challenges with the revelation of her pregnancy and Jase’s adamant distance. Years later, the past resurfaces when her child’s curiosity about their father leads her back home.

In Tulley Junction, she unexpectedly finds herself drawn to a man who is not just a friend but holds a significant place in her heart and life. This new chapter in her life brings with it a standoff of hearts and emotions, challenging her understanding of love and relationships.

In “After You”, your heart will be ripped out and stomped on, then lovingly put back together, in a story rich with the complex nature of relationships, family, love, sacrifice and pursuing dreams.

One lingering question remains: Is true love still in the cards for Chloe?

Delightful, Deliberate, and Desirous

These are the perfect words to describe this daring book by author A.L. Russell.

I must preface, that I have not read the first book in the Perfectly Imperfect series, Maybe Probably; however, After You does an excellent job at explaining some of the events that happened previously. I did find myself questioning why our MFC was going through certain sentiments, but they were answered in a way that gave me clarity. Because of this, I commend the author greatly.

With that being said, the emotions this book induced was tantalizing (but not in a bad way).

This is a story about second chances, something many of us long for, and I felt as if I got the closure I needed in my own situations. Chloe is such a delight and her thoughts and feelings are completely justified. I laughed, I cried, I sighed more than I have in my life.

The world building is phenomenal. The story is set in Australia, and though I have never been the description of the places and the scenery evoked my imagination.

All in all, I thought this book was wonderfully written. I must also mention that this book does have trigger warning and I highly recommend for all readers to read them carefully and thoroughly.

Thank you so much to A.L and her team for giving me the opportunity to read her book. I will definitely be reading the first one and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

This novel is phenomenal, welcome back to “Tulley Junction”! I went into this novel without having read the first book. You absolutely do not need to read the first book first. The author has thoughtfully summarized her first book, Maybe Probably, right up front at the beginning. The story is set in Australia and even though I have never been there the world built within these pages makes me feel as though I have. Her main character Chloe is very relatable and you are quickly rooting for her and her child to find their happily ever after. Have you ever heard the phrase “Out of the mouth of babes”? This book is going to have you saying that, out loud. I laughed, got frustrated with the characters, and found some pretty spicy scenes incredibly well-written. All in all, a great plot that will have you looking at the time and wondering how it is 2:00 A.M. when it was 7:00 P.M. just a few minutes ago. Definitely a must-read.

I had the privilege of being a BETA reader for this book. Even in the early stages this book was amazing. It pulls at your heartstrings, makes you laugh and swoon. Both characters are well thought out and have engaging personalities. There were so many moments where I was completely enthralled, needing to know what came next. I think A.L Russell has done such a brilliant job on her second book and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

Such a wonderful read! I was worried about reading this having not read book one but luckily, a rundown of book one is at the start of this book so that was great!
Chloe is very relatable and you just love her right away.

'This little family has become more than just a part of my world; they are my world. They're mine to love, mine to protect l, and mine to be a part of.'

Another roller-coaster of a read from the beautiful A.L. Russell. This author knows how to pull those heartstrings.

Chloe and Matthews' story is just beautiful. He falls first and hard, single mum, who is confused with her feelings and so protective of her child and the tension, its slow and when it burns..... Flips, it burns.

This book was absolutely phenomenal. A true emotional book about second chance relationships. This book came with so many emotions. Matt is so patient. And I love that Chloe finally got her happy ending. I love how we still got to see so many of the side characters in the 2nd book as well.

I loved this book. From the very beginning, it evoked so many emotions I had to keep going until I finished it in a single setting. This book tells a story of love and grief in a raw and authentic way with rich, lovable characters and unbelievable chemistry. What's more is that it's set in Queensland, and the references and familiar phrases and places throughout made this entire book feel like home. I cried, I laughed, squealed, melted, and more. Beautifully done.

Book two in the series really hits the mark

Chloe was introduced in book one, and I'm so glad that her story got told, and she gets her happy ever after.
Matty deserves love and happiness after losing Jase, and to make a family with Caleb is just perfect.
Looking forward to the next book - not only to hear someone else's story, but to catch up with Lacey and Zac, and Chloe and Matt.
I wonder if there'll be the pitter patter of little feet?
