COLLEEN L. REECE writes under the pen name Connie Loraine and is one of Heartsong's most popular authors. Colleen learned to read beneath the rays of a kerosene lamp. The kitchen, dining room, and her bedroom in her home near the small logging town of Darrington, Washington, were once a one-room schoolhouse where her mother taught all eight grades! An abundance of love for God outweighed the lack of electricity or running water and provided the basis for many of Colleen's 140+ books.

This book is a wonderful fictional telling of the life of Jesus from birth to His return to heaven after his resurrection. Reece does a wonderful job of staying true to the scriptures while capturing readers & pulling them into the story. The story is told from the point of view of the shepherds in the fields on that night so long ago & their descendants as the young boy who was left with the sheep that night grows & seeks Jesus. You will experience many of Jesus' miracles as you travel with the belated follower on his quest.

What Insight !! Love Glorious Love of Jesus!!

Many times you read a book and feel your heart change , Lord Jesus has blessed this Author with Great Wisdom. Bless You Mrs Reece , what a joy to read her books . If you are thinking life is hard or Your unloved , this book will show you what Love and devotion really is ment to be with Family. Our Lords love will never fail us , all good comes from him. Enjoy this walk and come out better in your soul.

This is a simple but beautiful story, especially for the Christmas season. The volume I read was Large Print Edition, and was only a couple of hundred pages. This story is about the life-long search for Jesus by the young shepard that stayed behind with the sheep when Christ was born, and the peace Jesus brought into the lives of the characters of the story.

I was impressed with this story. although fiction, it stays true to the events of Jesus and includes how different people may have felt during that time and how their lives were changed by Christ. I would suggest this for anyone who enjoys Christian fiction (especially biblical fiction)
