Bellamy Tyler never truly believed in fairytales. That was until she met the woman of her dreams, instilling her with hope that a life she’d only ever read about in her favorite romance novels could come true.
But fairytales never do exist. At least not for Bellamy.
When Cyr Maddox enters her life, life as she knew it is flipped on its axis. Every piece of her calls to him as he lures her in with those ice blue eyes and soul shattering darkness. Bellamy tries to stay away, shielding herself from heartbreak, but accepts that her only escape from her tortured soul is within Cyr’s embrace. The temptation to explore Cyr and uncover all the secrets he hides behind his mask will be her undoing. As the darkness around him entrances her, Bellamy gives up on running and allows it to consume her.
But the past will never stay dead, despite Bellamy’s attempts to outrun it. When the only person who can answer her questions is dead, Bellamy must find the answers within herself. But that means confronting the very darkness she’s been running from.
Will Bellamy be able to pull the devastatingly beautiful man into the light to save both their souls? Or will the darkness that brought them together be what ends them once and for all?
I don’t write reviews so this will not be written well at all for I have horrible grammar.
I thought this book was so cute. I was told a friend of a friend wrote a book (this one) so I added it to my list and let it sit on the back burner after reading the disclaimer page and a couple pages in. I finally prioritized coming back to it and read it in just a few days. It was short and sweet which was a very nice break from what I normally read. Reading it felt kind of like a highlight real. The book moved quickly so you got to experience a few years in just a few hundred pages. I loved the main character and her spunk but definitely related with her internal battles. I also liked her building falling so quickly into love with her friends and love interest I feel like that is so human so it was nice to read. My only negative is a few things repeated a little bit I understand that was for emphasis and foreshadowing so events but it was a little “cringe”reading it over and over. All in all I loved the story and character development. Part of me wanted more book but the ending was so hallmark you couldn’t not love it. I would definitely read another book from the author!
MUST READ FOR ROMANCE LOVERS!!! This book details the hard truths about life, love, and coping with trauma. The author did an amazing job of creating relatable characters that truly make you feel like you're not alone in the world. It's gritty and raw and all too familiar with how we learn to survive in this cruel world. The tension is amazing and makes the bond between the FMC and the MMC so worth the (not too slow) slow-burn! This dark-ish, SPICY, contemporary romance will have you on the edge of your seat and unable to put it down from start to finish!
For me, this book had a good plot and I can appreciate the love story behind it, but there were definitely a few things that I felt could’ve been better when it came to phrasing and grammar. The repetition of certain things became a bit overwhelming and I found myself hungering for more diversity in descriptions.
All that to say that the book is good! In my humble opinion, a little fine tuning on the editing side of things would’ve made this book golden but it is still worth reading.
I LOVED THIS BOOK! I haven't read many books multiple times, but this one I've read several. Words can't even begin to express the emotional rollercoaster I was on while reading this. I laughed, I cried, I gasped, I smiled... I just felt so many things reading this novel. Bee captured the emotions perfectly. Cyr's and Bellamy's relationship is presented in such a realistic light. Well done to Bee on her first published novel. I cannot wait to see what else she writes in the future.
