Declan can’t resist the temptation of his much older boss, but a stolen kiss while trapped in an elevator becomes a ticking time bomb ready to blow up their careers and personal life.
Sean Ashford, a senior partner at a prestigious law firm, became a widower five years ago when his wife of twenty years passed away. Since then, he’s put all of his time and energy into his career and hasn’t wanted to date, nor does he believe his heart is ready to move on. Little does he know the young, eager, male attorney he hired will change his mind.
Declan Rivers’ dreams of creating a better life for himself and providing for his mom are finally within his grasp when he gets hired at one of the best criminal law firms in Boston. The only problem is he can’t stop lusting after his new boss. As someone who is used to random hook-ups, he soon learns it’s not only his job at stake but also his heart when he wants more with the one man he can’t have.
Long hours in the office, the occasional flirtatious banter, and a fainting spell leaves Sean questioning his sexuality, and Declan hopeful his crush will turn into more.
When Sean’s children learn about his workplace romance, Declan is accused of being a gold digger, leaving him and Sean to decide if they want to keep their relationship strictly professional or continue to give into their forbidden desires.
Don’t miss out on this boss/employee romance filled with all the GFY, age gap, opposites attract goodness.

Boss of Attraction is book three in the Forbidden series by Kimberly Knight and Rachel Lyn Adams. This is a forbidden, boss/employee, age gap, MM romance that I really enjoyed. I want to admit up front that big age gaps isn’t usually my thing, but for some reason, I didn’t really feel this one like I usually do. These two really did seem like they were meant for each other.
Sean Ashford is fifty years old and is one of the three senior partners at the law firm where he works. Sean was married for over twenty five years when he lost his wife to cancer five years ago. He has never dated, never felt the urge to. He just dedicated his time to his job and his two adult children.
Declan Rivers is twenty five years old. Declan has always known he was gay. He was raised by a single mom who worked three jobs to provide for them. His dream was to go to college, become a lawyer and to provide a better life for his mom someday. He worked hard to get to where he is now, ready to take the Bar exam and working at a prestigious law firm for a boss he respected. He also had a huge crush on him. Declan has never been in a relationship just because he both didn’t have time and never felt enough for anyone to take that step.
There might have been some small flirtations on Declan’s part but it all really started when stuck with Sean in an elevator. A tiny kiss, barely a brush of the lips, turned a crush into a raging inferno of want. And for Sean, it woke up something in him that he never knew was there.
What I loved is that it never bothered Sean for even a second that the first person he’s been interested in since the death of his wife is a man. It more bothered him that it was his employee. And I loved that even though Sean was his boss at work, outside of work, they were on an even level. There was no “I’m older than you and know better.” Just two men falling in love who respect one another. I do want to add here that I greatly disliked Sean’s kids. Especially his daughter who had no trouble accusing Declan of using her dad for his money, but had no issue of using that money herself when she was well past the age that she should be supporting herself. In other words, she was spoiled.
This was a sweet, sexy romance and I really did love Sean and Declan together. The amazing cover didn’t hurt since I had that image in my head for Sean all the way through. Now I’m excited about the next book which will be Jasper’s story, Taste of Surrender.
I enjoyed this mostly low-angst forbidden romance between Sean and Declan. They both have great chemistry and I hardly noticed their twenty-five-year age gap. They are both in transitionary moments in their life. Sean has two grown children and is ready to start the next chapter of his life and Declan is a recent law school grad.
Another fun element to their story is the forced proximity due to their working together. They both start having heated private moments together that sizzle with their natural chemistry. I think this aspect of their story was done organically with a natural development.
Overall I am enjoying this series of forbidden relationships. I love the many teasers for the next entry and love getting to see all the previous characters reappear frequently with each entry. Sean and Declan have a great romance and I loved every bit of it.
*** I reviewed a complimentary copy of this story.***
This book was surprisingly good. Best so far in the series, for sure, so I'll give it 3.5 - 3.75⭐ but I'm on the fence about rounding it up because I've had one big issue with the story - other than that, this is a really simple, sweet age gap romance.
Honestly, best so far.
No, I'm going to round it up, because I really liked the main characters and their love story and although this is not a 4⭐ book for me, it's still worth reading about.
🟣 Boss/employee 🟡 Age gap - 25 years 25/50 🔵 Gay/pansexual (?) more like it 🟢 First time with a guy 🟠 Some angst (family) 🟣 Must read previous installment first 🌶️ Good smut; oral, penetrative, rimming "I licked it like it was covered in icing and I had to get every drop."; t/b
The writing in this one was substantially different than the last two books. Much, much better. It felt like someone was really making an effort to bring these characters to life instead of the messy boredom the first two book were.
Declan is a 25-year old lawyer working for Fallon's uncle Sean and his law firm. He's totally crushing on his widower boss and when the opportunity comes, he goes for it. It takes a while for Sean to get that he's being flirted with, but when things finally start happening, it's sexy, hot and exciting.
"There I stood in the middle of my office with my dick standing at attention, waiting for my employee to blow me. It wasn’t too late for me to put a stop to things. I probably needed to. Maybe even should have. Yet, I couldn’t seem to speak those words. All I could think about was how good it would feel when he finally wrapped his lips around me."
Sean and Declan start meeting up in secret, they're not ready for anyone to know they're dating, especially Sean with his shitty family. He's a widower with two grown kids who basically lived off of him - one still does - and they dislike Declan, simply because he's a simple guy from a trailer park that had to really work his way up.
I loved Sean and Declan's energy, they had a very organic, simple and believable love story, I loved them together. Sean had a few things to think about because of his family's reaction to him dating Declan but I was glad to see he stood by Declan and his choice.
Sean is not a daddy (thank fuck), he's an older guy who's just ready for that new part of his life to begin. I appreciated the not daddy part, it was refreshing. He's completely accepting of Declan and the money divide (the obvious difference in net worth) gets addressed, but Sean is a complete gentleman about it.
What I wasn't glad to see was no retribution for his daughter. Absolutely none. She acted like a spoiled brat - which is fine, but she should've gotten something coming to her, not Declan trying to make it work with Sean's kids. I really disliked that. There should've been something more there to shut her up - maybe her daddy cutting her off. I didn't like Declan and Sean putting that much emphasis on Sean's adult kids.
That was the only reason I didn't think I should round up the rating, because even more angst should be present. Declan and Sean really did deserve the world. I liked the main characters a lot and I think their story is pretty good. Could be even better, if the authors made a little more effort with the family part.
I liked this book. I do recommend reading it. Not in your 4⭐ range (I'm letting it slide this time), but still good.
Quick Opinion: I was...bored. I found myself constantly checking the reading percentage to see how far I'd gotten, which is a sign that I wasn't into it. I might've messed up by jumping to a later book in the series without reading the previous books, which the authors did warn about in the in the prologue, but for some reason I was sure I'd be okay. So maybe that was it -- I just wasn't okay without reading the other books first. However, I also didn't really feel their connection or I didn't feel a connection to either mc. I felt like it was overall just meh.
another great addition to this amazing series! loved this story read it so quick since i couldn't put it down. loved the age gap these two were perfect. highly recommend this
Declan is almost a lawyer at a great law firm working for his attractive widower boss Sean. Declan is a little shameless about his crush on his boss with his friends, but tries to keep it to himself at work. A few moments with Sean alone after a little flirting has Sean realizing that he's attractive to the much younger man. Sean is a torn because Declan is his employee and his kids' age, oh, and a man. Sean thought he was straight after being with his wife for 25 years. Over time, they fall in love, but Sean's kids think Declan is a gold digger since he comes from a disadvantaged past. There's sneaking around, weddings and dinners with the president, so everything is here, lol. Enjoyable, fast moving read.

Declan can't resist his hot older boss, and frankly, I wouldn't be able to either.
This was a fun, sexy book with an age gap (my fav!). It's not without it's flaws (what well respected law firm WOULDN'T disallow boss/employee relations? That's quid pro quo 101...), but it was easy to look past that for a relatively low angst read about a hot older widow discovering he might not be so straight and a young attorney fantasizing about said widow.
Ugh...what to say about this one. I liked it for the most part. I'm not sure I completely bought into Sean and Declan's relationship though. If you read Fallon's book, you know that Declan has had a serious crush on Sean for a while. But it was a hard sell for me on how they actually came to be together. Or at least with the first kiss. I guess I needed more.
However, I really disliked Morgan. At first I loved Sean's kids, but then when Morgan finds about about Declan?? yeah no. She acted like a spoiled brat and honestly, it didn't fit this book. Not to mention, Sean pays for everything still and she supposedly is making all this money as an influencer. Her reaction and how she treated Declan could've been removed and it would've made this book so much better for me.
I am curious about Jasper though. I'm excited to see what his book is about.
Oh man, how I devoured this book. “Boss of Attraction” is a heartfelt, steamy and forbidden MM boss/employee age gap romance that captured my heart with how sweet Declan and Sean were.
Declan is a lawyer to be and has been working as an intern with the hopes of being a lawyer there after he passes the bar. He’s been working closely with one of the partners, Sean Ashford, and has developed a crush on him. Sean is a widower for the last five years after losing his wife to cancer. Sean has identified as straight his whole life but is finding himself attracted to the flirty banter that Declan has with him. As the two spend time together, the flirty banter leads to a kiss and a secret relationship.
We had met Declan in “Secrets We Fight” and I’m so happy he got his story next. Declan is flirty, sweet and caring. I loved how hard he worked to make his dream of becoming a lawyer come true. He’s close to his mom and it showed by how he helped care for her. Sean is a genuine guy and one of the good lawyers. After losing his wife, he focused on his adult kids and his career. He truly thought he only had one shot at love and happiness but fate put Declan in his life. Declan’s flirty banter made him feel at ease and the connection they developed was genuine and so sweet. I loved all the moments Sean experienced with his first time with a man and all the heartfelt moments they had together. They were incredibly sweet together and just fit so well together. Sean’s kids were shocked at first, his daughter had her reservations of him being with someone younger but they were able to work though it and see that their Dad was finally happy after losing his wife. The ending was perfect and I can’t wait for the next book in the “Forbidden” series.
Boss of Attraction is the third book in the Forbidden series by Kimberly Knight & Rachel Lyn Adams. You can read the book as standalone but I highly recommend reading the series since they are delicious, and interconnected. If you read Secrets We Fight then you will remember Fallon’s friend Declan and the crush he has on his hot boss.
Declan has had a massive crush on Sean since the first moment he met him. He is a hot older man who just does it for him. He can’t help it. But all it could ever be is a crush. Declan knows this… Sean is not only Fallon’s dad’s best friend AKA Fallon’s uncle but he is also his boss. Oh, and he is straight.
Sean hasn’t been interested in anyone since his wife of twenty years passed away five years ago. And now, he couldn’t stop thinking about Declan after sharing a kiss in an elevator. He has never thought about a man in that kind of way but Declan makes him feel alive again. He is conflicted…
I am loving this series! Forbidden romance is my fave. MM, age-gap, and office romance…forget about it. I am here for it. I loved Sean and Declan’s story, it’s hot, beautiful, raw, and sweet. I can’t wait for the next book! Omg…it’s going to be full of heat.
How I wished I LOVED this book! The big age gap, the fact that they were both lawyers, the older MC having kids the same age as the younger MC... All the ingredients were there, but the book ended up being only ok. It's not fish or meat like we say in Italy.
Despite this being part of a series called "Forbidden", the story was really low on angst. Almost everyone was fine with this relationship. The author introduces some obstacles, but they are resolved rather quickly and without much trouble A pity. Because when they wanted, they were capable of creating some angsty moments (the gift watch!!!)But even in the "fluff" department, everything was just ok. I love scenes where people show themselves through dialogues, but here it felt more like info-dumping.
Overall, it was a readable book. Enjoyable enough, but I didn't really feel involved in the story. It just happened.
A steamy age-gap, boss/employee romance with biawakening.
Declan has worked hard to create a better life for himself, working his way from trailer park to a top law firm. He’s not had time for relationships and hasn’t wanted more than one night with anyone until Sean.
Sean is a widower who lost his wife 5 years ago, his kids have started pushing him to date again, something he hadn’t even thought about until Declan. He’s never considered himself as anything but straight but for some reason he finds himself inexplicably drawn to the young attorney.
A moment locked in a lift marks the start of their relationship as they are both drawn to each other. Can their relationship stand the pressures of the outside world?
I enjoyed this book and loved seeing Sean and Declan grow together. Their relationship was authentic and I loved how easily Sean accepted this new side of himself and was willing to jump right in with Declan.
This was a great story. Mind your triggers. The first few pages got me in my feels and I was hooked ever since. I love their journey. It was easy without a big freak out. Guess that what happens when adults act like adults. I loved that about them. I did not read the book before and I wasn’t lost. The only gripe I’d have was that the first 28% was about the previous couples HEA. If you don’t want spoil the previous book I’d read it before this one. The writing was good. The smexy was hawt, the side character… well some were good others I could do without. Where was the diversity though. Sad there isn’t much diversity in this world.
Maybe its just me but i think when you have a romance book, then add an age gap trope, then add the forbidden factor, and then add the boss employee trope, that automatically creates a level of angst and intrigue for said book. I don't know wtf this was. This had to be the most boring, anti climatic, non chemistry book I've ever read. Then you add in the snob bitch daughter who clearly needed someone to fight her because again, wtf! Even the epilogue was a snoozefest. Save yourself the time and pick anything else.
I was so excited to read this book. Declan and Sean are so sweet. I absolutely love their story and I am so grateful that I got an ARC to review. This has everything including a mouthwatering cast of exceptionally beautiful men that includes a silver fox. I give this book 5 stars 🌟 I highly recommend you read this book series.
Boss x employee in a law firm, large age gap (25 years), bi-awakening, some hurt/comfort, sneaking around, my favorite.
This was so easy to read, and so addicting, I couldn't put it down. Other than the small conflict of Sean's children, it was pretty smooth sailing and low-angst.
This read like a court transcript, which is ironic considering the MCs are both lawyers. “He did this then I did this then I said this then he said this.” And so slowwwww. Boring boring boring :(
The shallow and abrupt way with which this was written actually sickens me and I don’t even think it deserves my one star. I can’t believe it took two people to write this rubbish.
Really enjoyed this sweet hot read. Declan and Sean are both great characters, Sean is Declan’s boss, who he has a huge crush on. Not only is he not gay, he’s a widower who buried himself in his job. Sparks fly for these two and when Declan takes a chance and kisses Sean, Sean realizes that he’s attracted to Him. These two are fun, sweet and extremely hot. If you enjoy MM reads, dive into this one. You won’t be disappointed.
Once again these two write another great story. Sean and Declan were so cute together. I loved the back and forth between them. There were so ups and downs they had to move through. I couldn't stop reading wanting to know what was going to happen next . Thank you for letting me read another one of yalls great stories.
Sean needed to grovel more for doubting Declan and the hypocrisy of Morgan calling Declan a gold digger while being a spoiled brat and living on he dad’s dime was too much for me. 3,5 ⭐️ rounded up.

After getting my heart ripped out with the last book I read...Boss Of Attraction by @kimberlyknight.rachellynadams was a breath of fresh air...it was exactly what I needed...Declan and Sean's story was fun and sweet and a little dirty...and progressed so naturally...it was not easy by no means there was some hesitation on Sean's part in some scenes..and outside forces..but their chemistry and the connection they had found a way to overcome it..
Being inside Declan's mind was a treat...he may seem like one of those I want fun all the time type guy..but deep down he is so freaking smart and that heart of his..the love he has for his mom..the way he sets his dreams around making sure he has a way to find a way of taking care of her is just beautiful...I found myself laughing so hard with the things that would come out of his mouth and the things he would do..and when it came to Sean Ashford he was a complete goner...
Sean, the widower, who has focused completely on his kids and his job since the loss of his wife 5 years earlier..finds himself enjoying not only his employee's company but also his flirtations..and after the moment in an elevator he can't get his mind off of Declan Rivers..even though he has never been attracted to a man before he slowly opens his mind up to having a relationship with him..
@kimberlyknight.rachellynadams thank you so much for the opportunity to read this ARC...I am sad that this book is the end of The Forbidden Series..I am gonna miss each and every one of these men...I have been along for the ride since the beginning and it has been an amazing journey..but I can't wait to see what you guys have waiting for us in the next...
Sean Ashford had been happily marries for most of his life, until sadly his wife dies after a battle with cancer (please read the trigger warnings). The first chapter was so beautifully written, it had me sobbing. On her death bed his wife tells Sean, he must finds happiness again in whatever form it appears.
Declan Rivers has just qualified as a lawyer and is working at the firm that Sean is a partner in. Declan has always had a thing for older silver foxes, and he finds Sean the hottest ever, despite him being fifty and Declan twenty five.
Declan does not hide his attracted to Sean, but Sean is straight. Sean is finding Declan more and more attractive and starts to question his sexuality. He is not worried that he is attracted to a man, more worried that he is his employee. Sean also has two grown children who are the same age as Declan, and they do not react well to the news.
This is the third book in the Forbidden Love series by Kimberley Knight and Rachel Lyn Adams, and like the two books previously, this one is just as good. It features a large age gap, but it is so well written you just read the love between the two men. I hope this series goes on for a while, and i am looking forward to Jasper’s story.
“When i imagine ringing in the new year, you're the only person i want to share it with. You're the only one i want to kiss at midnight. I can’t stop thinking about you”.
Another home run right outta the ballpark by Kimberly Knight and Rachel Lyn Adams . Boss Of Attraction was such a fun , sexy and steamy read not to mention the perfect blend of so many of my all time favorite tropes such as 💜Age Gap 💜Boss / Employee and Opposites attract. At into that the witty banter , the angst , the humor , the drama , the passion , the unexpected surprises, the off the charts chemistry, the family and friendships and two of the most wonderfully written lead. Characters you’ll ever meet and you have an emotional rollercoaster that will make you laugh, make you smile , make you cry and keep you rooting so freaking hard . Declan and Sean oh how I adores them . Sean is a widower raising his two kids , he’s been burned in the past and because of the heartbreak he suffered has been primarily focused on his job and his kids . Declan has recently graduated law school and has just been hired by the same law firm that Sean works for . From the moment they meet well sparky literally fly . Both are at certain point in their life trying to figure out what the future holds . Well fate has other ideas because they are brought together to work on a case and from that moment on all bets are off . The more time they spend together the harder they fall .what does their future hold ? Well your just gonna have to read this amazing story to find out
This is a boss x employee to more romance, featuring Sean and Declan, and is book three in the Forbidden series.
Sean is a senior partner in a well known law firm, a widower, a dad and fifty years old. Declan is a recently graduated lawyer, starting his full time role at the same law firm, twenty-five and has a major crush on his sexy boss. They get stuck in the lift at work one night and share a brief kiss but that little kiss sparks something in Sean that he can’t deny and it’s only a matter of time for their attraction to kick off into something more.
This was a pretty low angst, slow burn read. There was a little drama with Sean’s children but it gets resolved pretty quickly. Sean and Declan are well suited, even though this is an age gap, it doesn’t really come up in the book as an issue, everyone is pretty supportive of their relationship. Sean just rolls with his bi-awakening too, yay!
We get to see cameos of Fallan and Rhett too love those guys.
I am looking forward to the next book but will wait for the audio.
Things to expect in this MM romance are: 3rd book in series Boss x Employee Age Gap (25/50) Dealing with grief Slow burn Low angst Bi-awakening Secret relationship Mini family saga HEA
Umm, no. Declan is in serious lust with his boss who is a family friend and is 25 years older. Okay. Declan is the new associate in Sean's very successful law firm. Sean has been widowed for five years. And by the way, Declan's friend Fallon's dad (and Sean's closest friend) is the President of the United States. Sure.
Sean very quickly discovers his previously undiscovered bisexuality, as in Sean notes "I could not deny I'd enjoyed the sex. [...] But I was still trying to wrap my head around the idea that the first person I'd been intimate with in over five years was a man." And everyone in Declan and Sean's world accepts them immediately, with the exception of Sean's spoiled daughter Morgan, who dislikes Declan only because he's one of the "poors."
The authors introduce many elements to create angst - there's a 25-year-age difference, they have a boss / employee relationship, Sean's son slept with Declan, what will their friends and family say? - and then dismiss them with a sweep of their pens. I don't need a lot of angst in a romance relationship, but seriously, the road to their romance is apparently paved with rainbows, marshmallows, and sunshine. 3 stars.
This is the third book in the Forbidden series. This book focuses on Declan and Sean. Sean is in his fifties and wife has been gone for over five years, he’s on the verge of selling his house and moving into a smaller condo closer to his office. Declan is just twenty five and he has graduated from law school and passed the bar. These two always had a good relationship and Declan has always been extremely attracted to Sean but nothing had ever happened. One night while trapped in an elevator these two share a sweet kiss that is the catalyst to their relationship changing. Now Sean is fantasizing about him and not thinking of him as just an employee. Declan seems the same but since the kiss he is more willing to push the boundaries on their relationship. I was a little shocked that Sean was so accepting of being in a gay relationship. After being married for over 20 years I would assume that he considered himself heterosexual and that his feelings for a man would seem strange but, he was very accepting of them. This was a slow burn very sweet romantic relationship of two people finding love in the workplace. This was truly enjoyable book.
Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.
Sean Ashford is a senior partner at a prestigious law firm. He became a widower five years ago when his wife with whom he was married twenty years passed away. Since then he only works and doesn’t want to date again. When he hires Dean Rivers he questions his aspirations.
Dean’s dreams of creating a better life for himself and his mother finally come within grasp when he gets hired at one of the best criminal law firms in Boston. The only problem is, he can’t stop thinking about his older boss.
Long hours and flirty banter get Sean to question his desires. they start their secret relationship and everything goes smoothly until Sean’s children find out about their relationship and accuse Dean of being a gold digger. They must decide, continue their secret relationship or remain only professional relationship.
Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for an attorney, MM, forbidden, boss/emloyee, age gap relationship then you’re going to love it.
3.5 star .I enjoy a well written book. I do have something I want to talk about. Declan and Sean don't seem close enough to randomly saying I love you, i didn't not expect it. I think passion between them is missing. I don't recall either of them calling each other's name lovely or passionately. I feel there is no big, happy emotions here. don't get me started on his kids(in a adult body). I somewhat liked Ryan(he's not interested in anything or doesn't care)but Morgan. Uh huh. I didn't not like her at all. she's so entitled. she's accused him of a gold digger but then she's the one being one and what about Sean not shutting her up or cutting her money the minutes she insulted Dec. If you love some one, how could you let them be insulted like that...Sean said nothing ((Dec after a few days says he loves him(uh what???), and he still wanted to spend time with his daughter, pleading with her. She never said sorry to Dec or that she regretted saying that to her Dad's boyfriend. The ending is f-ed up. I'm so mad.
