My name's Heidi Rice, I'm a USA Today Bestselling author. I'm married with two sons (which gives me rather too much of an insight into the male psyche!).
I love my job because it involves sitting down at my computer and getting swept up in a world of high emotions, sensual excitement, funny feisty women, sexy tortured men and glamourous locations where laundry doesn't exist ...
I also tutor a 14-week in-depth online Write a Romance Novel course. So, if you have ever wanted to learn how to write romance from a bestselling author, check it out here: www.profwritingacademy.com/course/wri...
Now I believe wholeheartedly that readers should give honest and open reviews on Goodreads and Amazon and elsewhere. If you didn't like a book you are entitled to say so (even if it's mine! ouch). But you may notice that none of my book reviews are less than four-stars. That's simply because as an author myself I know how pathetically sensitive I am about bad reviews and with that in mind I prefer to spread the love among other authors — and don't do public reviews of books I didn't like. Just thought I'd clarify that!

The premise of this book is intriguing: a queen of a wintry country weds a gruff Colorado sportsman in order to take control of her inheritance. The story includes a fiery first meeting, a fake relationship, a spectacular royal wedding, and even a spicy unexpected wedding night. The pages flew by for the first half of the book, but once Isabelle and Travis jet off for their honeymoon, things took a bit of a turn. I found Travis to be too rough and controlling at times. I also felt that their relationship was based more on sexual attraction than perceived love. Not enough space was provided for them to connect on a deeper level. This is a quick spicy read that will keep you warm for a few hours, however, and I simply love Heidi Rice's voice.

Fall in love with Queen Isabelle as she opens up to Travis! It was easy to fall in love with no frills Travis who came from nothing and became a successful business man that is looking to purchase land from Queen Isabelle for his next venture. Travis throws the pomp and circumstance out the window when he meets Belle as he likes to call her, and is stunned by her offer to lease the land with the stipulation that he marry her. I feel for Issy as she is up against her father’s ruling on the land use and her country’s parliament to marry the neighboring country’s playboy prince so she makes her offer all the more better that Travis can’t refuse. From the start the spark that ignites between the two is heated and it only heats up from there during their honeymoon. Yet Belle’s ingrained training leaves a lot to be desired by Travis upon their return to her country. Will the two find their happily ever after? You have to read to find out and will be intrigued by the ending!
The first in a Royal Duet, Queen's Winter Wedding Charade is the story of Queen Isabelle of Androvia who needs to marry to free up her inheritance. Only she doesn't want to marry the favoured choice, the neighbouring playboy prince.
When American billionaire Travis Lord wants to invest in Androvia he is hoping for a good deal. He doesn't expect it to come with wedding vows. The proposition put to him doesn't make sense personally, but financially it's a win win. It doesn't hurt that Isabelle does things for his libido that a marriage of convenience will not resolve.
It was a lot of fun watching this two battle it out. Travis has no respect for institutions and monarchies so it takes a while for him to warm up to his potential role as Prince Consort. Isabelle is thrown off balance by his constant irreverence for her role. Isabelle has spent her whole life repressing her natural vivacity and passion, so Travis is a real challenge. The physical attraction is an inconvenience when she doesn't plan on a real marriage. This is more like a temporary starter marriage to gain her full inheritance, with a real marriage to someone compatible coming later.
I liked the way they began to open up to each other with two steps forward, one step back as they try to protect themselves from being overwhelmed by the other person.
This was an enjoyable read and I look forward to book two in the series.

Heidi Rice's Queen's Winter Wedding Charade is a contemporary royal romance that sizzles with heat, emotion and intensity.
Queen Isabelle wants full control of her kingdom - but in order to do so she must marry at once. Proposing a convenient marriage to billionaire Travis Lord seems like the ideal solution for both of them, however, little does Queen Isabelle realise that her husband is a man who has no time for traditions and protocol because he would much rather play by his own rules.
Travis had worked hard to leave the poverty he was born into behind to become one of the richest men in the world. Being queen consort suits him down to the ground - until he finds himself having to resist his oh so convenient royal wife.
As emotions heighten and feelings intensify, Isabelle and Travis' convenient charade looks set to become all too real...
Heidi Rice delivers yet again with Queen's Winter Wedding Charade. A red-hot romance with explosive chemistry, scintillating sensuality and plenty of royal drama to keep readers glued to its pages, Queen's Winter Wedding Charade is another must-read by Heidi Rice.

Travis wants the land and Queen Isabelle wants a husband, but not the one that was chosen for her. There is one way they both get what they want, a fake marriage. It was interesting how their relationship changed, from strangers to friends and more. I liked the mystery at the end.
I wish I could give this 10 stars - I LOVED this book. It was EVERYTHING I envisioned from a Hqn Presents Royal romance. - virgin - arranged marriage - winter weather
