In the far future, the man known only as Rook wants out. He reckons anywhere is better than the crumbling planet Exodus, where all of nature—especially its imported animal population—has grown out of control as the world’s engine has utterly failed. Scavenging for an escape vessel, he’s interrupted by the power-hungry bear master named Ursaw, who won’t stop until he rules all of what remains of Exodus. Also: Who is the mysterious Dire Wolf? And is she Rook’s ally…or enemy?
Geoff Johns originally hails from Detroit, Michigan. He attended Michigan State University, where he earned a degree in Media Arts and Film. He moved to Los Angeles in the late 1990s in search of work within the film industry. Through perseverance, Geoff ended up as the assistant to Richard Donner, working on Conspiracy Theory and Lethal Weapon 4. During that time, he also began his comics career writing Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. and JSA (co-written with David S. Goyer) for DC Comics. He worked with Richard Donner for four years, leaving the company to pursue writing full-time.
His first comics assignments led to a critically acclaimed five-year run on the The Flash. Since then, he has quickly become one of the most popular and prolific comics writers today, working on such titles including a highly successful re-imagining of Green Lantern, Action Comics (co-written with Richard Donner), Teen Titans, Justice Society of America, Infinite Crisis and the experimental breakout hit series 52 for DC with Grant Morrison, Greg Rucka and Mark Waid. Geoff received the Wizard Fan Award for Breakout Talent of 2002 and Writer of the Year for 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 as well as the CBG Writer of the Year 2003 thru 2005, 2007 and CBG Best Comic Book Series for JSA 2001 thru 2005. Geoff also developed BLADE: THE SERIES with David S. Goyer, as well as penned the acclaimed “Legion” episode of SMALLVILLE. He also served as staff writer for the fourth season of ROBOT CHICKEN.
Geoff recently became a New York Times Bestselling author with the graphic novel Superman: Brainiac with art by Gary Frank.

This is a great comic book. It has the best art of Jason Fabok's career, an intriguing story, action packed visuals, and it comes in a card stock cover at a price less than what DC Comics charge for their comic books with card stock covers.
Things take a turn for the worse given the events that happened last issue. Rook finds himself face to face with an old flame and we’re introduced to our first major villain for this story.
I really like the direction this is seeming to go, a hint of something big on the horizon.
Really like this pacing of each issue so far. Sure, the first was a double sized premiere, but even this second issue which is a normal page count was paced so well.
Dire Wolf is great so far and I really hope she gets as much panel time as Rook. The dynamic between them was/is compelling-Rook wants off the rock while Dire insists the planet can be saved and made to be a home.
The action and art work are stunning. Fabok is on fire and honestly if this keeps up this could be one of the best from Image Comics. Just damn good plotting and sci-fi.
There’s a lot John can do with this world other than just the protagonist yearning to get off planet and back home, but we’ll see. He’s keeping the story simpler now and that’s fine.
This books is one of the most stunning-looking books I've seen in a looong time. In particular, I really appreciate the color scheme, really sells the idea that this is some distant, dying world. The concept is pretty cool too. This is my favourite book currently being published by Ghost Machine, after Redcoat (although I have yet to read #2 of Redcoat). I mean, it's hard to do better than Geiger in terms of name and character design, he and his 2-headed dog are about as cool and recognizable as you can hope to get with a fictional character. Anyway, great read, nothing mind blowing, but that's fine, we're just getting started after all. Looking forward to next issue!
I’m absolutely loving the world Geoff Johns is building! Each new character adds even more depth to this rich, evolving universe and raises the stakes in meaningful ways. The story remains gripping from start to finish, and I honestly can’t put these issues down. The introduction of Dire Wolf and her history with Rook brings genuine emotional weight and world-building, rather than drama for drama’s sake. Meanwhile, Ursa stands out as a truly menacing and formidable villain. I’m eager to learn more about his backstory and how he came to possess the helmet. This issue was fantastic, and I can’t wait to dive deeper into this world. Highly recommend! Grade: A
The Second issue did not disappoint! Wow! The second issue kicks it in to high gear! I'm all in for the story it has me hooked! I'm interested and I want to get to know more about the world and Rook as well as Dire wolf and Ursaw.
one of the animal bosses goes rogue and starts killing the other animal bosses. It’s chaos and the man made world as we know it is in deep peril. If only we had yet another male & female caucasian hero dou with amazing bods to save us.
Ah ha! we do....
But wait, for this to work there has to be some sort of rift between them, and a lot of sexual tension. Not to mention some sort of revenge angle.
