I am thrilled to have found a book that blends cozy mysteries and Christian fiction so well. A Taste of Crime is a breath of fresh air! It satisfied my craving for a heartwarming story with an eternal focus. Here’s a quote:
“God’s trustworthiness is not dependent upon us. It is one hundred percent Him. His promises can’t be earned or bought. They are unchanging from generation to generation.”
I received a digital copy of A Taste of Crime from Beyond the Page Publishing and NetGalley. I am not required to write a positive review in any way or for any reason. My honest and unbiased opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the writing style, the pacing, and the story’s content, ensuring transparency and reliability.
Cooper Lee and her sleuthing Bible Study friends are back in A Taste for Crime, by authors Ellery Adams and Tina Radcliffe. Cooper has a lot going on in her life. Taking over Bits and Pieces, the shop almost-formerly-owned by Chef Jon’s aunt, hiring a new employee, dog sitting her dear friend’s pup, and now…murder? Monica Amsterdam is a food critic whose cutting remarks are sharper than a santoku knife. She’s found murdered and the main suspect is close to Coop’s boyfriend, Chef Jon. Can the Hope Street Bible Study group investigate and clear Jon’s honorary uncle while trying to steer clear of Detective Olson? Find out in A Taste for Crime! I loved meeting up with these old “friends” again, plus it has some wonderful recipes! I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.
#ATasteforCrime #NetGalley is a fantastic cozy mystery. When a food critic meets death, it's up to Cooper and the Bible study group to find the answers. This is a fun, clean cozy mystery series that always brings a smile to my face. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Beyond the Page Publishing for providing me the opportunity to read and review an ARC of this novel.
The Hope Street Church Bible study group has helped solve several murders, so when a family friend of a member of the group is accused of murder they jump in to help. Cooper’s boyfriend Jon is a chef. A family friend and the chef who trained him has been accused of murdering a food critic that gave him a scathing review. When this occurred Jon asked his girlfriend and her friends for help. Can this group help the police solve this murder?
This book was a nice cozy mystery that had a wonderful faith element. It was enjoyable, but I had a few problems with it. One issue was the writing was not always smooth. It felt a bit awkward and lacked cohesion. Another issue was that each plot point seemed to need to be a bit more fleshed out and the resolution seemed rather sudden. That being said, I do plan to read the rest of this series because it was fun. The faith elements were very evident but not overdone.
I would recommend this book to people looking for clean, mostly non-violent cozy mysteries, especially if the reader is looking for something that teaches an element of faith. If evident faith bothers you then this book may not be in your wheelhouse.
An interesting twist on the cozy mystery by making it a Christian based cozy mystery. You still get the great writing and plotting as well as realistic characters that you are used to with Ellery Adams books, but the sleuth group is a bible study group of unique characters. I am not typically into Christian based books as they tend to come off as very preachy and often misogynistic, but this series and this book in particular is extremely well written with the men and women in the group being equal partners and often the women coming off as the stronger characters. I love that the characters are written with realistic personalities including flaws. This mystery is well written with a few red herrings to try and trip you up as you unwind the mystery and try to figure it out with the characters. The relationships between the characters add depth and engagement to the story that keeps you turning pages and enjoying for hours!
The Hope Street Church Mysteries series is quite enjoyable. Each book can be read as a stand alone, so you can jump in anytime. Cooper Lee is the main character in each story, along with her friends in the Sunrise Bible Study group. This newest addition to the collection finds the sleuthing members of the group determined to help absolve a local chef of the murder of a food critic. The victim was found in the chef’s restaurant….and the chef is the uncle/mentor of Cooper’s boyfriend.
As always, their plans for investigating the crime are interesting to delve into. The characters are all intriguing. I appreciate the reliance on their faith as they go about the work to solve the crime. Plus there are some featured treats from Magnolia’s Marvels….definitely a good thing for those of us who are reader foodies.
If you like to read cozy mysteries written by award-winning authors, you will be glad you picked up A Taste for Crime. Be sure to check out the recipes at the end!
Favorite quotes: “Ephesians 2:8 tells us we have been saved through faith. Faith is a gift from God. Trust is simply the confidence in that faith even when the world tells you otherwise.”
“When we acknowledge that something is missing in our lives, we’re taking the first step toward meeting God.”
*I received this book from NetGalley and publisher Beyond the Page with no requirement to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.
I am very familiar with Ms Adams work but I had never read this series or anything by her co-author. It is made very clear that the characters in this book are part of a Bible study group and that they are very church oriented, so if you are not into that, there is plenty of warning. This is a very nice group of characters that obviously know one another, and they all have their story, it is obvious that all these characters have developed over time but it is not hard to follow their relationships and contributions to the group. In this book, Cooper, the main character, is asked by her boyfriend to help his honorary uncle and mentor, another chef, who has a famous restaurant as well as his own cooking show. His restaurant has gotten a bad review that is also affecting interest in his cooking show. When the critic is found murdered in his closed restaurant, the chef is the main suspect. Can Cooper and company find out who really killed the critic? While the suspects are not many, it is a pleasant enough story, if not the greatest mystery. Thank you to #Netgally and #BeyondthePagebooks for an opportunity to read.
Another good installment in the Hope Street Church cozy series. This series is entertaining and I really like the character development as the series progresses. The mystery was solid in this one and was well plotted and paced. Enjoyed!
If you like your cozy mystery books with a touch of both mystery and religion, this one is definitely for you. Although I was perfectly happy with the Christian aspects, it did add some frustration as they frequently slowed the mystery. Let's face it, all mystery readers are in a hurry to find out whodunit. Although I've read most of this series from the beginning, It's easy, however, to enjoy the friendship and support the members of the Hope Street Church's Bible study members provide to each other. Heck, there's even romance. It didn't put me off the book, I'll note. In fact I found most of the scriptures related to the problem at hand, but felt it was fair to give potential readers a heads up, just as the publisher did me.
That said, I didn't really feel like I got to know more than the basic background of the supporting cast. I still found myself enjoying my time with Cooper, who began the series, if memory serves, working to repair copy machines. She's now the owner of a business and, as such, dealing with the need to juggle business, family, and personal needs. And, oh, while a cat person, she's dog sitting for a friend and that isn't proving an easy task for her given the little terrier's feisty personality and energy. Needless to say, her felines aren't happy, either. On the business side, while her father prepares for retirement, she's just hired a new employee and is dealing with her desire to have trust in her, a theme of one of the Bible study meetings, btw, while finding it difficult to do so on a couple occasions. And, oh, boy. Then there is her sister. Let's just say, they couldn't be much more different.
And, then there's that murder. The victim, a nasty food reviewer, is found dead in celebrity chef Anton Parsley's restaurant. Seems Cooper's boyfriend, Jon, is his honorary nephew. It therefore goes without asking that Cooper and the Hope Church group become involved in helping Anton and thereby Jon find the real murderer. There don't seem to be that many suspects. I had to laugh at times as the group investigated while admiring their "all for one" cooperation and support. Cooper is, hey, this is a cozy mystery, frequently warned away by the detective in charge but, well, Jon's involvement makes it personal, so Cooper vows to stay involved but safe. I bet you can guess that neither of these is easy, even with the best intentions.
Bottom line, despite my concerns that the Christian aspects may turn off those who walk into the book unprepared and what seemed a slow start with several slow downs, not to mention some some serious silly choices on Cooper's part, I did enjoy the book. Hence, a 3.5 rounded to 4 stars. Thanks #NetGalley and #BeyondThePagePublishing for allowing me to drop into Hope Street Church again. I grew up with many of those same stories and admired the authors' ability to tie them into the very real-life murder investigation.
Faith, Family and Friends are the heart of this story. The mystery, while juicy, further illustrates the commitment our Bible study group has to each other and their faith. Cooper Lee and her boyfriend Jon Eason are fortunate to get a lot of help from the rest of the Bible study group. Cooper, who has a lot on her plate, never hesitates to back down from helping family and friends. At one point, she tells Zoe her parents raised her that way and essentially, she would do anything for them as they would for her. The line struck a chord with me because like Cooper, I am family oriented and feel the same for my family. For me the ability to truly connect with a character made the story come alive a little more and I commend the author for creating a character that is relatable. Like any cozy we got the requisite animals, but they played a little lighter role than we normally see with the furry companions until the very end when the dog solved it all in her own way. The lovable furry friends enhance cozy mysteries and add something else relatable to the story. The author handled the insertion of faith into the story in a very tasteful way without making the story feel preachy. I appreciated her references to believe, hope and faith that can come from the Bible because no matter what happens in life that believe is important. The mystery aspect of the story grew by leaps and bounds as Cooper and her Bible study group continued to dig. Our victim and I use that term loosely was much more than she seemed. I liked how the team took major leads to the police and found it fascinating when Cooper told the officer the online forums help cops all the time. We understandably so had a lot of suspects for our crew to research, but the author did a nice job of spreading the tasks to make all the members of the group useful. Overall, I enjoyed the mystery. I enjoyed how it appeared that the more we learned the more we had to learn. If I had one complaint, I am not a fan of the leading lady’s name. I have always associated the name Cooper with a man and not being familiar with other books in this series, it took me a minute to get used to the leading lady being Cooper. This is a personal complaint and one that went away when I got into the story more. It just gave me a moment’s pause. Overall, we have a terrific cast of characters that do a great job at the gumshoe stuff while keeping their faith and holding their friends close. Thanks to NetGalley and Beyond the Page Publishing for the opportunity to read this ARC.
A Taste for Crime by Ellery Adams and Tina Radcliffe. If ever there was the ideal partnership, it is these two authors. This series abut a Bible study group/crime sleuths is the most creative of all the wonderful cozies out there, simply by their chosen sleuths. Cooper Lee runs the sleuthing efforts of the group and has a boyfriend named Jon Easton who is a chef. He had gotten tickets for the whole group to see the Chef Anton show being filmed. Jon is excited because there is to be a cook-off and he might be one of the contestants. Monica Amsterdam, Anton’s nemesis and a food critic is to be the other. It should be exciting and would have been except Monica ended up dead in Anton’s restaurant and he was the lead suspect. Jon asked that Cooper and her group investigate. He considers the man his uncle. The whole thing leads to a series of lies told by Monica about who she was and what her experience was. It didn’t exactly help to solve the crime.
Cooper is a pleasant and smart young woman with a group of friends, some married, some not, who enjoy their Bible study group and enjoy one another outside the group. Of particular note is Savannah, the religious leader of the group who does a wonderful job and is blind as well. Anton, seemed like a nice man, grumpy as many chefs are, but that was about how seriously he took his profession. The final clue came down to a photo taken off a security camera that everyone else had overlooked. It was an exciting time for the group. This was a decent mystery and this group of friends is nothing but likable. One hopes that Cooper’s relationship with Jon continues as he seems like a nice guy. Thanks to the Dynamic Duo for this fabulous cozy mystery!
I was invited to read A Taste for Crime by Beyond the Page Publishing. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #BeyondThePagePublishing #ElleryAdams #TinaRadcliffe #ATasteForCrime
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Ellery Adams and Tina Radcliffe for providing me with a complimentary digital ARC for A Taste for Crime coming out April 16, 2024. The honest opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I love Ellery Adams’ books, so I was excited to check this out. I haven’t read the other books in the series, but I could catch up with what was going on. It’s a really fun food cozy. I loved the characters. Amateur detectives is one of my favorite genres, so this book had all the fun elements of that. I enjoyed the recipes at the end of the book as well. I definitely want to read more books by these authors.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys cozy food mysteries!
A return visit with the Hope Street Church Bible Study group in A Taste for Crime with Tina Radcliffe, is just as charming as the previous two titles Method of Malice and The Deeds of the Deceitful. Cooper Lee is a great main character, and it was fun to see what she and the other members of the group were up to in this newest offering. As is their usual pattern they can't resist putting their sleuthing skills into play when a restaurant critic turns up dead after writing a scathing review. The study group decides to aid Cooper's boyfriend Jon, whose uncle Anton is a chef and owner of the restaurant reviewed and a potential suspect in the crime. "Discernment was everything when they were following clues. Sometimes the difference between life and death."
In addition to trying to solve the crime based on the clues given, I loved all the foodie references and descriptions. Catching up with Cooper's family and especially her mom Maggie Lee of Magnolia Marvels catering fame was equally gratifying.
A favorite line, "Trust is the confidence in that faith even when the world tells you otherwise."
A Taste for Crime and the Hope Street Church Mystery series is a wonderful cozy that readers who like to solve whodunit crimes will certainly enjoy. I appreciate Beyond the Page, via NetGalley making a copy of A Taste for Crime available for review. All thoughts and opinions are my very own.
A Taste for Crime is the eighth cozy mystery in the Hope Street Church Mystery series. When a food critic turns up murdered after a scathing review all eyes are focused on local celebrity chef Anton Parsley. Anton just happens to be John’s uncle and Cooper feels the need to help her boyfriend’s family. In typical fashion, Cooper gets the Hope Church Bible study group together to get to the bottom of the case. They’ve had great success in the past when it comes to hunting out the murderer and this will hopefully be no different.
I am a fan of this series and always love revisiting this group of characters. They are all quirky, but fit together perfectly, complimenting each other’s strengths. This mystery is a fun and quick read that kept me guessing until the end. The setting and characters in this book keep me coming back for more every time. Don’t be deterred by the Bible study group aspect, the characters talk about faith at their meetings, but nothing is over the top or in your face. It’s more about supporting each other through their hardships and sticking together. Overall this was a really enjoyable cozy mystery read that would be good for cozy mystery fans. I’ve read the rest of the series, but if you’re okay with missing a few background details, I believe you could read this book as a standalone if you haven’t met Cooper and the gang yet. I can’t wait to see what comes next for Cooper and her friends!
Best book in the series so far! Cooper is really coming into her own with her new job and her romance and I love that I've been on that journey with her...even though it hurt at times.
This is the eighth book in the Hope Street Church Mysteries series and did I mention it's the best? :-) Love how comfortable I am with these characters, the unique bond the Hope Street Church Bible Study has developed and the teamwork involved in their investigative exploits. And I so appreciate the thoughtful way Radcliffe has incorporated profound bible study points in a way that impacts each character and fits with the mystery as well. But it is in no way intrusive or forced or over the top...just flows very organically through the characters. So A++ for the cozy side of this cozy mystery. And that includes Cooper's family -- especially her firecracker Gran. So much fun!
The mystery is well done...and a major armchair sleuth fail for me! I love the way the gang go about their investigation. Smart and supportive of one another and they notify the detective when they get a lead. None of this hoarding clues and obstructing a police investigation which can be a common theme in cozy mysteries.
Can't wait for the next Hope Street Church book to release -- I need more Cooper and her bible study gang!
This is book #8 in the charming series "Hope Street Church" by author Ellery Adams and Tina Radcliffe. Thank you to the publisher and to Net Gallley for the opportunity. My review opinions are my own. I have enjoyed this Christian series from book one. This series is endearing to readers and has complex interesting characters.
This next in series features Cooper and her Bible Study trying to save the career of a local chef who received such bad reviews by a critic that his business is suffering. The chef is a favorite of her boyfriend having worked with him in the past. When the critic is found murdered their friend is the prime suspect and Cooper and friends are investigating the critic to find the read killer. As red herrings and clues abound in their investigation Cooper is finding herself closer to the real killer.
I love the Bible study group of friends in this series. The characters are all warm and likable to the reader. The theme of Christian friendship and goodness prevails in this lovely series. This series gives the reader a sense of a inviting community where each preson is respectful and kind to one another. . Well done to the authors for a enjoyable addition to the series. I look forward to the next in series.
I would like to thank both NetGalley and Beyond the Page Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Book Review:
I really enjoyed this book. I gave it 4 stars. This is the first book in this cozy mystery series that I read, and I didn’t feel like I missed anything. The authors did a great job of giving you enough information, so you didn’t feel lost. With that being said I do recommend that you read the books in order.
In this book a food critic is found dead, and a renowned chef is the prime suspect. The chef is Cooper’s boyfriend’s uncle. He has asked for Cooper and the Hope Street bible study group to help investigate to clear his uncle’s name.
I really like the family and friends in this story and how they help each other and back each other up. I love the way that Cooper is willing to help a young teen girl who got herself into trouble and needs a chance.
If it has Tina Radcliffe’s name on it, I will read it! She always writes wonderful stories! No matter the genre, her characters are always likable, her storylines always good, her humor is spot on, and her faith thread is always seamlessly woven throughout the story. A Taste for Crime, which is a cozy mystery, is excellent!
I really enjoyed reuniting with Cooper and the gang to solve another mystery. I wish I could be a part of their Bible study group! Cooper and Jon’s relationship, which I love, is moving along nicely. The secondary storylines with Cooper and her family and her work really added to the plot. I love Zoe and the lesson she unknowingly taught Cooper - and myself if I’m being honest. LOL. I loved the faith thread! Here’s one of my favorite quotes:
“We need our Bible nourishment to make it through the week.”
Gosh, this is so true!
A Taste for Crime by Ellery Adams and Tina Radcliffe is part of a series, but it can totally be read as a standalone. I really loved this story and these characters. I hope we get more with this group of sleuths!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own. The faith thread is light. 5 stars!
This is the eighth book in the Hope Street Church Mysteries. I really enjoy the fact that the group of friends that help solve the mysteries are a bible study group. The Christian theme is a subtle element that adds to the story. In each book the characters grow and you get to know them a little bit more. The characters are not perfect, but have normal problems and insecurities that are relatable. Cooper and her bible study group are asked to help support a favorite local chef who has received a bad review from a food critic. His business is struggling because of the review. Before they can do anything to help, the food critic is murdered. The chef is the main suspect and the group decides to try to solve the case to clear the chef's name and hopefully save the restaurant. Is the food critic really who she appeared to be? As the group learns more about her, things are not adding up. There seem to be many people that had other motives for wanting her out of the picture. Will Cooper and her group be able to figure it out before the chef is charged with murder and before anyone else gets hurt?
This is the second book that I have read in the series, and I keep telling myself that I need to read the others because they are so good. Of course they can be read as a stand alone. There is a wonderful group of friends who met at church and have a bible study class together, who inadvertently gets caught up in solving murders. This one has a food critic who meets her untimely death and there is a few suspects who she has done bad reviews on their establishments. Who actually killed the food critic and will the group figure it out before an innoncent man goes on trial. You have a detective who is always teeling the group to mind their own business, just like in this statement. "I see. Does that mean I can count on you and your group to meddle in my investigation?""Meddle is a bit harsh,". Then you have a one-eyed rescue pug, named Popeye who just adds to a wonderful story. If you love cozy mysteries, then you will love this one. I am thankful for being approved through Netgalley and the publisher to read an advance copy of the book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A Taste for Crime is the first book I have read by Ellery Adams and Tina Radcliffe. It is a Christian cozy mystery but more cozy with a touch of inspiration. All cozy mystery fans should enjoy the story. Also even though there are several previous books in the series, I did not feel that I had any problem understanding the characters or feel that I needed more of a back story.
A suspicious death of a notorious negative food critic has Cooper, Jon, and friends looking to find the true guilty party. A family friend of Jon’s and local chef is under suspicion but will the truth reveal something different. It is a slower buildup pace until the death then the story picks up. I actually had my eye on a different person as being the guilty party. This story kept me looking for clues, then going back to see which ones I missed when I had guessed wrong. A Taste for Crime is a wonderful introduction for me to this series. I loved getting to know Cooper, most of her family (I’m still not sure about her sister) and her friends as they solved this murder mystery.
A Taste for Crime by Ellery Adams and Tina Radcliffe is a delightful book in the series A Hope Street Church Mystery, but can be read as a stand-alone book. The Hope Street Church Bible study group is asked to help solve a crime after a food critic turns up dead in the mentor of one of their members’ restaurant. Cooper must work with the Bible study to try to solve the mystery and save Chef Anton Parsley from ruin while trying to keep her new shop afloat, take care of a diva dog, and grow her relationship with Jon.
This was such a fun read. Humor is sprinkled throughout the story keeping the mystery light, but very interesting. The faith elements were realistic and gave the story depth. The characters were very relatable and I found myself wanting to attend the Bible study on Sunday morning. This was a fantastic read!
I enjoyed the interesting characters, faith elements, and mystery in A Taste for Crime by Ellery Adams and Tina Radcliffe. I highly recommend.
I was given a copy by the publisher and not required to write a positive review
I really enjoy this close-knit group of friends that encompasses the Hope Street Bible study group. They are not only a study group, but they are good friends outside of church and they like to solve mysteries on the side, like murder! Cooper is the main character, and she has a lot going on in the story. She's the owner of a business and has hired a new employee who needs a role model, she's dog-sitting and her boyfriend's honorary uncle is a famous chef who has been accused of murder! I love Cooper's family. They are a delight, especially the grandma. Jon, her boyfriend, asks the group, if they will look into the murder as a personal favor and if they find any clues, to hand them over to the police. What follows is a lot of sleuthing with interesting outcomes, some quite funny! You never know what you'll get when the Hope Street group is on the case and the police, especially the detective assigned to the case, isn't always happy about it! Come along for the ride!
Thank you, NetGalley and Beyond the Page Publishing.
I have not read this series before, but I automatically was drawn into the mystery. Right from the start I enjoyed Cooper, Jon and the Bible study group. The mystery was also interesting even though I figured out who did it early on in the book. It was still an enjoyable read and I would recommend this book if you enjoy cozy mysteries. My only recommendation is that readers should read the earlier books in this series so that they can be more familiar with the characters and their history. This book did mention events that had happened prior to this book and I felt in a way that they were spoilers if you haven't read the previous books. YET I couldn't stop reading this book because it was that enjoyable.
I will state that since a Bible study group is in this book there is mention of religion which may turn off some people. It didn't bother me, but I do know some readers are sensitive to this topic. If the reader skims over these parts, they should still enjoy this read.
I will be searching for the rest of the books since I want to get to know these characters more and go on more adventures with them.
This is my second foray into the world of Hope Street, and I couldn't be more pleased to have been able to visit everyone again. What caught my attention the first time around was the incredibly unique idea of using a bible study group to sniff out and help catch killers. The premise is so interesting that I just couldn't resist. And this second go was even better!
I love the use of prayer and God's will to be able to help someone get justice. The Bible says we are more than conquerors in Christ so it makes sense that we would be able to use that aspect towards this too.
Cooper, John, and all the rest of the gang are well thought out, full of flaws like the rest of us, and I love their ability for compassion. Sometimes we forget that it's not just about getting justice but also in the conduct in which we go about it. They struggle deeply with doing the right thing and making sure they keep forgiveness in mind at all times as well.
I thought the plot with John and his 'uncle' Anton was really fascinating and getting to see a little bit of a 'backstage' look into how restaurant kitchens work was really neat. There were also several messages about trust in there that I really enjoyed, and they never came off as 'preachy.' It was like having a conversation with a good friend about our own human foibles. I really enjoyed everything. I especially loved having a nice clean cozy with which to relax my mind and immerse myself into the mystery and get caught up in it.
As long as these authors keep writing these books, I will keep coming back to read them. I recommend a thousand times over.
Thanks to Net Galley, the publishers, and to Ellery Adams and Tina Radcliffe for the ability to read and review this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own and are completely honest.
A cozy mystery with faith weaved in, I didn’t know this type of cozy existed!
This is the first book I have read in the Hope Street Church series by Ellery Adams and I really enjoyed it. There is inspiration weaved into the book and it is honestly very uplifting.
I really enjoyed the story line of all of the characters and I want to go back to book one and read the series in order. I enjoyed how the author did touch on what they were learning in Sunday Bible study. The scripture that is studied on Sunday is brought up in the characters lives with different challenges they are facing.
The mystery was also intriguing I honestly did not know who did it until the end. A really great read all around!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley, opinions express in this review are completely my own.
Cooper and the Bible study group step to help find a killer when a popular chef becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a food critic. I’m not just any food critic, the one who single-handedly caused his career to begin crumbling. Add to the back of the chef is a beloved family friend and mentor to John, and the group is completely invested in proving his innocence.
Can the group save John’s, beloved uncle and mentor by finding the murderer? If they don’t, will it put Cooper and John’s relationship in jeopardy? Only time and evidence will tell.
I am not a big fan of Christian cozies, but this one does not over emphasize the religion side. Yes, attaches on it, but not to the point where it feels like like the author is preaching to the reader each and every entry in the series has been enjoyable and I come back for more with each and every entry that I served up in the series.
A Taste for Crime by Ellery Adams and Tina Radcliffe is a cozy mystery that works well even if you haven't read the rest of the series. When a harsh review from a famous food critic puts local chef Anton Parsley's career on the line, he asks Cooper and her Bible study friends for assistance. Since Cooper's boyfriend has a connection to the chef, she's determined to help save his restaurant. However, before they can fix the chef's reputation, the critic is found murdered right there in the restaurant. This forces Cooper and her friends to switch from simply supporting the chef to actively hunting a killer. The book features the strong, appealing characters, engaging plots, and great humour typical of Tina Radcliffe's writing. Give it a try if you enjoy the genre!
