the dialogue that happens within this book is a narration between three characters. two demons consult on how to torment their patient (a human). one in particular advises the other on different strategies and tactics of how to keep the patient from seeing the Light, the Love of Jesus, or Truth. a goal of mine is to divulge problematic philosophical concerns in today’s society and encourage the reader to discover Absolute Truth for himself. as a lover of thought, understanding, and philosophy this book engages the mind to surpass understanding and take a deeper look at the universe.

Dude ok. I’m super not trying to be just a hater, but as a literary work you just can’t have that much improper grammar no matter how much of a stylistic choice it is

The no capitalization is one thing but the run on sentences and improper clause agreement and just constant grammar errors make it so hard to read. I mean literally the 2nd sentence of the very first page isn’t correct and I just can’t deal with it

And then the word choice and diction too is like weirdly repetitive and feels like a sentence that has had random words swapped for more intelligent sounding ones in a thesaurus. Like I think exorbitant was used like 8 times. Which is fine, I like the word, but with the nature of the whole piece it just felt weird

Lastly I just think calling a book the modern day screwtape letters, implying the book is the sequel to such a universally acclaimed CS Lewis classic… I’m gonna be naturally way more critical when comparing it to that. And I don’t think the ideas hold up

I read this book in literally an hour. Super easy read that I really enjoyed for the most part. The last 3 ish chapters were really good. I’m lowkey a lowercase hater because I think sentences should start how they’re supposed to and it kinda irked me BUT I can also see why he did it that way; to give special recognition to the main character. Had a lot of good insight and I liked the way he talked about philosophy and thinking- it’s very beautiful. But yeah I really enjoyed it

A+ for amazing effort and near execution...

Such an insightful and enlightening book. Great points were made making it very quotable.
As "Modern Day" Screwtape Letters, was hoping for more examples of modern nuisances, and instances of these deceptions/strategies of the demons. To be honest, the modern take was a little vague if not lacking.
Admittedly, I understand why the author chose to be vague using Light etc to appeal or reach a wider audience (hopefully to build curiosity etc to true Christianity) but I believe taking a firm stand and pointing to the true Eternal Light (even if in one chapter or at that latter end, ie the last chapter or chapter 16) will be more impacful.
I pray, one day, the author will take these two points into consideration when a new edition, expansion republishing or even retelling of this book is done. This book has so much potential to be greater than it already is but most importantly, it is a great book and thus highly recommended. (thanks for the recommendation, Gavin C.)

This book was such a blessing! I have once tried to read The Screwtape Letters many years ago and did not understand. Now having read this modernized version I feel so much more confident going into it. And as much as I do love proper grammar, I really took note and appreciated the fact that only things personifying God were capitalized like "The Light", it showed the true emphasis and heart of this novel which was clearly written from such a pure and honest heart posture! Also the cover art is beautiful :)

This book is as creative as it gets. Immediately, i noticed that the author didn’t capitalize sentences. It struck a nerve in me until i realized the incredible intentionality behind it. Only very specific words were capitalized, and if you pay close enough attention, it reveals a beautiful component of the main character. This book was phenomenal in many ways. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a figurative story containing compelling eternal truths.

This book made me want to re-read all of C.S Lewis’ work again! It was an amazing work of art, right from the overflow of the Love of Yahweh🤩☀️ Hope this author comes out with more work soon, an immediate 5 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was expecting a new spin on an old tale. What I found was a horribly written, almost entirely plagiarized summary of the original tale. Names were changed but the rest is so close as to not be worth my time to read. Definitely not worth the read.

I was really unsure about this book for the first few chapters, but I gradually began to enjoy it. I thought it was very interesting to see phrases used in the Bible to describe sin used in reverse by the demons to refer to God.

i loved it. i just finished reading the screwtape letters by c.s. lewis which was amazing, but this was much more relatable and more modern as the title suggests. i liked it a lot.
