How far would you go for vengeance or your own brand of justice when a monster killed your sister? How far would you go for the woman you loved? What if your actions would devastate her? What if your actions would also bring down a monster who will continue to torture and kill? What if you WERE the law, but would willingly break it?
Detective Tate Powell is a man on a mission. How could he have known the man who killed his sister was Abby’s brother, a twisted man without a conscience? What he did know was that he would do anything for Abby, anything, short of letting her brother walk away.
You know that once-in-a-lifetime love that knows no bounds? Tate and Abby have it, but they will be tested beyond their limits as the true depth of this evil tale unfolds! DARK CONSEQUENCES by Amanda Siegrist blurs the lines between right and wrong, love and hate, as one officer sworn to protect and serve must walk a tightrope between his own brand of justice and protecting the woman he loves.
Amanda Siegrist takes no prisoners with this one! Heavy on the romance, filled with dark edginess and filled with moral dilemmas, will the need to follow the law and the heart outweigh the need to follow one’s own dark desires?
Hang on for some real twists, some great characters with real personality, hang on for Detective Stromberg! We had better seeing more of him!

I love a story that grips me early and Dark Consequences by Amanda Siegrist does just that.
Abby was a secretary for a criminal defense attorney in Minnesota, but she knew how to take care of herself. She had moved there with her best friend, Brandon. She was happy with her life, but there was one thing missing, her brother, Cooper. He was a psychopath who murdered people without compunction.
A cop in love with a woman who’s brother killed his sister. NOW…he was going to hunt him down and exact his own revenge.
It had been love at first sight for him and Abby. How could they have a future? Abby was afraid that Tate was going to kill her brother, because he had killed his sister and her goal was to stop him. Who would find Cooper first?
WOW. The twists and turns in the many layered chilling mystery kept me ‘flipping pages’ to the very end. The characters are not all good or all bad, complex yet loyal to the end, willing to sacrifice whatever necessary to get the job done.
The romance was hot and heavy between Abby and Tate and I love the addition of Stromberg…the three Musketeers.
I love a story that keeps on giving and I see more of Consequences to be dealt with in my future.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Dark Consequences by Amanda Siegrist.

Tate, a detective, has two things on his mind and heart. The first is hunting down the man that killed his sister. Second is the woman that stole his heart with a glance. What Tate didn't expect was for the them to be connected. When he learns Abby's brother and his sister's killer are the same man, he struggles with what to do...either option will break his heart, Abby's too.
Abby lost her heart to Tate so quickly she didn't even realize he had it until he held the power to destroy her. Abby had no way of knowing talking to Tate about her brother would mean the end of them. And that's the only outcome she can foresee. If Tate doesn't get justice for his sister, which entails taking out her brother, then the guilt would eat him alive. If he does, that means Abby loses her brother, and her boyfriend would be the reason.
Tate can't let the murderer go free, and Abby can't let Tate kill her brother. They're caught between justice and the heart, neither option one they can live with, but they have to...unless they get a miracle.
What happens when the person you know killed your sister is the brother of the woman of your dreams? Can Tate let go of his mission? Will Abby expect him to? How do you win in a lose-lose situation?
One-click now and follow along as two people, both knowing they've found their forever in the other, are faced with a dilemma no one should have to choose between. This plot was unique and the very idea of it just pulls on your heartstrings. Tate and Abby are stuck between two different types of love, that of true love and siblings. To choose a siblings will cost them their HEA; to fight for their soulmate breaks the brother/sister bond. I think the author did a great job conveying the struggle both Tate and Abby face .- By Elizabeth

Detective Tate Powell is in love with Abby Forrester whose brother murdered Tate's sister . Tate is now on the hunt to kill Abby's brother and Abby doesn't know what to do. This is one intense and suspenseful read. I fell in love with Detective Powell right from the beginning! Highly recommend!

As a detective, Tate Powell has sworn to protect and serve but he can't help wanting to kill the man that murdered his sister, even if that man turns out to be his girlfriend's brother.
Abby Forrester grew up on the streets with only her big brother to keep her safe. Now that same big brother has become a monster. She knows it, even if she tries not to acknowledge it. When he kills the sister of the man she loves, she knows she must act. It'll cost her everything but she can't let Tate throw his life away by taking vigilante justice. Somehow she has to stop him from making the ultimate mistake.
Dark Consequences is just that, dark; much darker than previous works I've read of Ms. Siegrist's. It was full of angst, suspense, and passion. Our main characters are all kinds of mixed up but one thing is for sure, they love each other, despite how messed up their respective backgrounds are. While the writing was good, this was not my favorite work of Ms. Siegrist's. Unfortunately I never developed a relationship with the characters, finding them both to be needy and wishy-washy. I personally like my officers to be portrayed as rebellious but still upholders of the law, not vigilantes. I understand doing the wrong thing for the right reason but this didn't feel like that. Tate wasn't taking a criminal off the streets for the good of all mankind but rather doling out his own revenge. I did enjoy the push pull relationship with the other detective and was happy to see that relationship highlighted in upcoming books. Something to look forward to as this series grows!

Is there ever a time when it’s okay to kill? That’s the question that is thrown around in the background of your mind when reading this story. Whether it’s for revenge, to defend yourself, out of instant anger or whatever...can you excuse taking another human life? And what of the consequences? This book is quite thought-provoking as well as an entertaining story.
The lead characters are both likeable even though Detective Tate Powell is a brash, I’ll do it my way and you can take it or leave it, kind of guy. His devotion to Abby Forrester, his girlfriend, is one hundred percent genuine and he considers her his forever girl and makes no bones about it. Abby is someone who is easy to relate to even though at the end I wanted to slap her a little however I digress. 😆 She has such kind and caring qualities but a little bit of minx thrown in as well which is fun too. Now the other interesting character is Detective Stromberg, from New York. A similar man to Tate and so I was really pleased with how this story ended. I am also hoping he gets his own story.
There is quite a lot of action throughout the book and at times I found myself waiting with bated breath to see what would happen in the story. Likewise, there are scenes that are quite emotional and I admit tears were threatening. This book is very easy to read and fast paced with quality writing.
I look forward to reading more from this author and totally recommend this book.

Not what I was expecting at all. Full of emotion, mystery, lies, suspense, murder, and romance with some hot steamy scenes all rolled into one. Amanda has pulled it out of the bag with this one. This is my favourite Siegrist read to date, and I cannot wait for book 2 in the series.
The story flowed well and the pace was good. The 3 main characters, Tate, Abby, and Cooper, were great characters to get to know. The story was told from each of their perpective, which I loved. Not the typical hero/heroine, but I liked that.
Tate is a strong character, whose only weakness is Abby. I like the softer side to him. I enjoyed the humour between himself and Detective Stromberg. He is a very detemined and passionate man, and wants nothing more than to keep Abby safe, while seeking revenge for his sisters murder. Abby, is in a really rubbish situation between two people she loves the most in the world. She has balls though and I like that she made a lot of really tough calls. I do think that she brought trouble to the door a few times by her decisions, but I'm glad the author allowed her to explore these and for us to see the consequences of them. I really enjoyed getting to know Cooper, and finding out the reason for his actions. I would have really liked to have known more about his background, what choices led him to this life and what did that 2 women do to him. I just felt I didn't get why he did it to them, but they would have to understand why he was doing it.
I quickly got into this book, it drew and kept my attention. I enjoyed all the twists and turns, especially at the end, which was unexpected.

Detective Tate Powell is a man on a mission, and that mission is to kill the man responsible for killing his sister. Now, as law enforcement, we know that he's really not supposed to be on that whole revenge quest, so you see the problem with that right? Wait for it, because it gets better. The man who killed his sister is his girlfriend's, the woman he loves so very much, the woman who is his person, brother. Yeah, they have an expiration date obviously, especially since Abby can't believe her brother capable of murder, but she's the one who told the man she loved that the brother she loved was responsible, so now she needs to talk Tate into not killing said brother. That should be easy right? Oh what a story the amazing Amanda Siegrist penned, as it kept me on the edge of my seat cover to cover, and while on one hand I was glad it wasn't insanely long because of that as I couldn't move until I finished every bit of it, on the other, I never wanted it to end. Those twists were INSANE! Like colorful metaphor/f-bomb dropping worthy INSANE, as they never stopped coming around every corner. And there was some sexy times on the side for some heat besides what the sexy detective was packing. PLUS, there was even a humorous interaction or two. So yeah, this story was AMAZING, so I hope that crazy new partner of Tate's get his own story next, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Amanda Siegrist blows me away every time I read her stories. Whether they are the flash fictions to the Novels I adore. When I need a change of book genre, she is a great author to seek out. Dark Consequences pushed me out of my book funk. You will not get the same ol' boy meets girl, boy sleeps with girl, boy breaks the girl's heart, then we have a HEA...Nope you get the deep and gritty! Don't worry there was heavy chemistry between Tate and Abby! The bounds of right or wrong are pushed to the limit. The pain the characters endure will infuse into your skin. I really enjoyed reading Dark Consequences. For my romance friends, if you are in the need of change in the book scenery, THIS IS YOUR NEXT READ!

Detective Tate Powell is a strong character who is very set in his ways but is basically a very moral person so for him to decide to kill his sister’s murderer is huge. Abby Forrester is a much more shy person around a lot of people but has a solid backbone too. For her, knowing that her brother is a killer is devastating, as it would be for anyone. However having your boyfriend wanting to kill him? That’s even harder. It causes all sorts of repercussions and yes consequences- such an appropriate title for this story.
I liked the characters in this story, even gruff Detective Stromberg... I certainly hope we get to read his story next. Okay I will admit I didn’t like all of the characters but then he was nasty and was basically the puppeteer after all. I can’t say I really liked Cooper, Abby’s brother but in a way I felt sorry for him.
I did find parts heartbreaking but the writing was excellent, I admit to some leaky eyes. The old emotional roller coaster took a few rounds of the track in this story.

Tate and Abby both come from rough pasts, but have worked hard to get past that and have a better life. Abby’s brother murdered Tate’s half-sister, and the beginning of the story starts with Tate going after him. The book is essentially a game of cat and mouse, but added in a romantic aspect into all the suspense. There were some twists that I did not see coming, especially towards the end! I was really torn on this book – I felt like I started it in the middle of the storyline and had no idea what had previously gone on but I wanted to know how things got to where they were! On the other hand, the suspense and intensity of this book was crazy good! The book tells us in the beginning who the killer is, but as the story goes on, gives us hints as to why, but also leaves us with questions as to why he started killing in the first place. So undecided!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

What a great romantic suspense story! This is told by three different characters: Abby, Tate and Cooper. Tate is a detective who is on the search for justice and revenge for his sister's murder. Abby's brother Cooper is the killer and only she knows until she tells Tate. Now Tate is trying to find Cooper to kill him. Abby is trying to convince herself that Cooper isn't that evil while trying to stop her boyfriend from killing him. Cooper is staying one step ahead leaving bodies behind him. This is a great edge of your seat, what's going to happen next, suspense with that romantic aspect that readers crave. I couldn't put this book down. I finished it in one day. It's that good. I can suggest this book enough. It has something for all fans: mystery, suspense, raw emotion, sweet scenes, steamy scenes, a great story and plenty of surprises. You'll be hooked just like I am after you read this. This is book one in the series. I can't wait for more!

Hot damn this has got to be my absolute favorite from this author. The book starts off telling you who the killer is and how he fits in this triangle. It is fierce in how it grabs you, knocks you for a loop and keeps you spinning throughout the read. The suspense isn't in who the killer is it's in why and who he kills!! It's off the chain. There is so much going on and yeah you have murder, siblings, a past and a present, a connection on too many side and not one but two detectives with an attitude. There is suspicion and lies, oh yeah and there's death, but the way this author puts it all together is priceless. I read it in one sitting and could not put it down. This is a definite must read and yeah she even puts in some romance but thankfully doesn't let it take over the story. Man this is a winner.

Detective Tate Powell is seaching for the man who killed his half sister. The same man who is his girlfriend's brother. Abby is torn between her brother and her boyfriend. Tate is a my way or the highway type of guy.
Abby and Tate have a strong love for one another no matter what obstacles are thrown in their path. They balance one another.
When Tate travels to New York on a murder case he meets Detective Stromberg. A twin as far as attitudes. Can't wait for his story.
Dark Consequences is an intense story filled with suspense, a touch of romance and a sprinkle of mystery.

Amazing romantic suspense story! Fast paced, and phenomenal story line. I love how the characters weren't "perfect" they had agendas and didn't care what they had to do or the "consequences" of achieving them. I also loved how the story ended, the whole time reading you're wondering where the story will go, how can there possibly be a good outcome. Rest assured though, there is indeed a happily ever after.

This book had me screaming a couple of times. The book veered off in a direction I did not see coming. I love it when that happens! It was neat seeing a story that started off as flash fiction with prompts from her reading group turn into such a captivating book. The feelings raging through this book felt so palpable. It takes great writing to achieve these things. I look forward to reading the next book in the series!

Despite only knowing each other a few short months, Abby and Tate have fallen in love. But will that love be enough for Tate to stop his vengeance to kill his sister’s murder, Abby’s brother?

Little did he know that the man he had been searching for was right in front of him the whole time - his girlfriend Abby's brother. Abby was a secretary for a criminal defense attorney in Minnesota. It was definitely love at first sight for both Tate and Abby. Abby was afraid of losing her brother but also of losing Tate. Both were caught between a rock and a hard place. As the synopsis suggests: Every choice has a consequence… How far are you willing to go for the people you love, for your family or for vengeance? Amanda Siegrist skillfully portrays the grey areas, moral dilemmas, dark edginess and situations where the law and the heart outweigh the need for dark desires. The twists and turns through layered chilling mystery added to Tate and Abby's love story and psychological elements. Nevertheless, these two were magical and protective in their own way. Their love story is not easy: it’s messy, emotional, healing, insanely romantic, suspenseful and dangerous. Between them existed this unique connection, pull and chemistry, no matter how much they tried to deny it or the obstacles they needed to face. Tate and Abby's build-up while danger was surrounding them was crafted skillfully with slow-building tension, romance and suspense.
A beautiful start to an amazing series. With gut-wrenching twists and taut suspense, this gripping thriller will leave romantic suspense fans on the edge of their seats until the very end. I completely adored the unique storyline, real characters, mystery that kept me guessing and a build-up. Don't miss out on this book and series.

Gritty and exciting page turner.
I really enjoyed this book. It had me on the edge of my seat, eagerly turning the pages to find out what came next. It was full of love and angst, suspenseful twists and turns, intrigue and drama. I found it interesting and different to read a story where the main characters are already together and madly in love, however their road to a happily ever after was turbulent, fraught and gritty. A very thought provoking read full of interesting characters, moral dilemmas, with plenty of steam, I am very much looking forward to reading ‘Cruel Consequences’ next.

Tate & Abby brought out frustrations, confusion and curiosity as I read. I felt the need to yell out at so many points. You have to admire Tate's innate need for revenge, to protect & love Abby to extreme ends. Cooper is a character that leaves you on the fence. Wyatt most definitely made me smirk & want to know more. The Author does an excellent job of gripping her readers with this dark romantic suspense.

"Every choice has a consequence…", such a true statement! This is an incredible story about Tate, Abby, revenge, family and consequences. It is very captivating and intriguing. It shows how blurred lines can get when the consequences may not be worth the risk and revenge in the end. I loved this story!
