Formula for Love #1

The Fake Date Formula: Illustrated Special Edition

Rate this book
Fake dating the racing star was only ever meant to be a job…

Called into my boss’s office, I’m given a new assignment that sets my heart fake date a famous race car driver.

Oliver Stone is an underwear model, a racing champion, and apparently a playboy.

He needs a girlfriend to get the gossip sheets from destroying his career, and I’m the girl-next-door publicist who can help him achieve it all.

For a price, of course.

I’m the right person for the job, level-headed and smart enough not to fall for the handsome devil who’s used to having it all.

I need the money, too. My parents need my help.

But no one prepared me for Oliver. No one told me he’s magnetic, sexy as hell, and worst of all–kind. The better I am at the job of playing his loving girlfriend, the more I’m in danger of losing my heart.

The Fake Date Formula is a sports romance with a race driver hero who hasn’t seen the inside of a woman’s bedroom in months, despite his bad reputation, and a heroine determined to keep him out of hers. You’ll love it if you enjoy spicy romances where the guy falls first, fast cars, and the glittering world of pro racing. This is the first book in the new Formula for Love series but can be enjoyed as a swoon-worthy standalone.

4 stars 🌟 just watched the new F1 movie and i had a craving for some F1 romance 🏎️🍾🏁 i really liked oliverallie and i thought their relationship was pretty cute! i loved how oliver was straightforward with his feeling the entire time and didn’t play allie or string her along ☺️

i will say that this felt a wee bit fast paced to me but nothing obnoxious! i liked this and i am SO seated for bellawest 🙏

This one is for anyone what wants to live out their formula one romance dream. It was such a cute story and I had a great time reading it. I hadn’t read a fake dating romance in a while and forgot how fun they can be. Plus this one is where it’s her job to help prove to the media that what’s being published about him isn’t true. Adding in the travel, close proximity, and high stakes that comes along with formula 1 it’s such a fun mix! I really liked how there wasn’t some big deal made towards the end when everyone found out that event though it was to be a fake relationship, everyone was totally unfazed when they said it wasn’t fake. The conflict is something else entirely.

I’m intrigued for the next book in the series that was hinted at!

the Fake Date Formula is the new Mina Sinclair book and WOW….

For starters you had me at F1, I am a HUGE fan and reading about Allie and Oliver made me feel like I was part of the team going from country to country.

This story brings it all, romance, thrills, danger and suspense. I personally enjoyed this story so much and I cannot wait for more from this series (I really hope there is more because Bella deserves her own book! & Etienne is the dark horse keeping all the secrets!!)

Love love love!

We were destined to fail from the start, I know that now. We were never going to work as colleagues, because she's perfect for me, the personification of every fucking wet dream I've ever had.

4.25 stars

What a fantastic debut novel from Mina Sinclair! I don't know much about the F1 sports racing world (honestly I thought it was boring from what I've seen on TV), but this book dramatized a lot of the action and of course secret romances that happen in this world and I am totally here for it. One thing that took me a while to cruise with was how SLOW of a burn the relationship is between Oliver and Allie. Seriously y'all prepare yourself for mutual attraction and tension that culminate into the slooowest burn. But once Oliver and Allie move past their reservations, I really enjoyed their romance and how the mystery surrounding Oliver's media trouble unraveled. Overall, I enjoyed this one and look forward to Bella and West's book!🖤

Tropes: fake relationship, workplace romance, reformed playboy hero, girl-next-door heroine, secret relationship, F1 sports romance, SLOW BURN, girl gang, STEAMY🔥

First of all, a huge thank you to Mina Sinclair for reaching out to me to offer a review copy of her novel: The Fake Date Formula. I was incredibly touched to have been thought of for this.

The Fake Date Formula follows Formula 1 driver, Oliver Stone, who agrees to hire PR manager, Allie Keane, to pretend to be his fake girlfriend to avoid further blows to his reputation from false and libelous articles. Allie is tasked with helping the world see Oliver as a committed partner and focused racer, without falling for him herself.

I believe this is Mina Sinclair's debut novel, but even if it isn't, I have to say I am seriously impressed! The characters were all so multi-dimensional and dynamic, the plot was intriguing, and the setting was so well-written that it almost felt tangible. Not to mention, the budding relationship between Allie and Oliver had me hooked.

If you enjoy sports romances, Formula 1 in general, and/or Lauren Asher's Dirty Air series, then I would highly recommend keeping your eyes peeled for The Fake Date Formula which releases 29 March. I am eagerly anticipating the next entry in this series and am so excited to see where Sinclair takes these characters!

4 ✨ I really enjoyed this book. Its like when the author knows the perfect recipe. No surprise element just some good old classic fake date trope. I was on a lookout for such a nostalgic book with classic romance tropes from quite some time and I found it!!

The formula here was perfect
🏎️ Sports F1 race athelete fake dates a PR team gal
🏎️He falls first
🏎️Pinch of push and pull energy. Bit of slow burnish but no third act breakup
🏎️Hero is possesive and h is caring. Good Chemistry 😍

I wish they spent more time together. They had a lot of moments they couldn't spend together because of their schedules and external circumstances.

All in all a decent read. No Cheating.HEA🩷

My first observation after receiving an e-book from the author… unsure why there is a semi-naked man on the front cover? I get that a lot of romance books tend to have this sort of cover, but it doesn’t feel like it fits the book at all, and reading the book only reiterated that for me. I’ve since seen there’s an illustrated cover on the way though, so that’s something!

The Fake Date Formula is fun story for F1 fans who love romance. It’s super easy to read with mild peril and some sporting drama. Oliver is your typical misunderstood athlete, a complete sweetheart that you can’t help but want all the good things for.

We’re given a few tropes that we all love to see… sports romance, fake dating and slow burn (although I do feel like them getting together was a little rushed when it finally happened).

Did I fall head over heels for this book? No. But did I enjoy myself when reading it? Yes! I do recommend.

Personal compatibility: 3.75 ⭐️
For it's written purpose: 3.75 ⭐️

the plot was a bit formulaic (pardon the pun) but the characters were well done and I love both POVs. Allie and Oliver had great chemistry and although cheesy at times, I had so much fun reading their story.

Something that set this book apart in a good way was how much actual racing was involved. It was awesome to be able to read about the actual day to day work and routines and not just focus on the romance aspect like so many books do.

The little family that the Titan team made was well done and is definitely one that will stick with you

I’ll definitely be reading the next book when it releases!

Are you looking for a formula one romance with fake dating? Read this one!

I really adore the main couple and their chemistry. Allie was by far my favorite and I loved Oliver’s character development.

The friend group and the found family aspect was my favorite part. The girls group was the group I wanted to be part of - I love all of them!!

The guys were amazing as well and I can’t wait to know more about a particular driver and Bella’s story - PLEASE MINA I NEED BOOK TWO NOW.

The f1 scenes were well written and I loved how the author introduced us to the world - it was super enjoyable!

I really recommend this book if you are a f1 lover and are looking for a new series to start!

If you’ve ever wanted to know more about F1 and combined with a lovely romance story, this is the book for you.
Mina explained the terms and the high stakes very well which would make it easier to follow along if you haven’t been interested in the sport at all.
From explanations of the lifesaving halo to the importance of every single member of the team, it’s all there and made it a very pleasant and easy to read romance.

ARC Review

“Allison Keane will be the death of me, but what a way to go.”

Formula 1 may be my new favorite sport 😅

I love that Allison comes into this racing world not knowing much about the sport and gets to experience it all for the first time with Oliver. Even though their fake dating the chemistry between these two is perfect 👌🏼 I love the progress of their relationship and that there is no 3rd act breakup! I like that the plot has a little bit of a mystery, who is messing with Oliver?

I also really like the side characters and I think this book sets it up well for a series. I can’t help to want to know more about Bella 👀 I can’t wait for the next book!

Read if you like

LOVED THIS BOOK!

I wasn’t sure what to expect as I’m not super familiar with F1 but this book was incredible.

Oliver is so thoughtful and was refreshing to read. His ability to communicate his feelings was top tier and I love an emotionally available man. But what topped everything else off was his love which he expressed through small actions which may seem like nothing but over the whole plot builds a picture of someone who is constantly thinking about ways to improve their partners life and I loved it!

Allie was perfect too. She’s smart, and multidimensional, and the female friendships she formed were incredible to read about. I loved the way she balanced career, friendship and romance. The way she balances Oliver and provides unwavering support while also offering the perspective of F1 through fresh eyes was lovely to read.

As for the plot, it was incredible. I know sports romance plots can be similar (and I’m not a hater because I’ll eat up the same plot over and over again) but it was refreshing to read sports from the perspective where the woman isn’t being hated on left, right and centre and where the work they put into the male dominated field is appropriately appreciated. It was just so wholesome in that sense and this book has an incredible feel of girls supporting girls which I loved!

Finally, I want to thank the team for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Highly recommend this book, the characters are incredible and I’m excited for what I’m hoping is many more books in this series with couples that were being hinted at!

My first Mina Sinclair book and I was a fan. This sports romance is set in the F1 world and has the perfect amount of the sports side as well as romance and an added mystery/suspense element.

With Oliver Stone as the championship driver who is hoping to have back-to-back winning seasons being put through the publicity ringer, he feels like he's got to do something to save his season and his career. He's painted as a player and as a guy who uses his ego and money to get whatever he wants but in truth he's none of those things. He's serious about his career and he doesn't want it destroyed by false claims.

Allie Keane is a publicist who asked to join the Titan racing team under the guise of Oliver's fake girlfriend with only Oliver and his team manager in the know. She's from outside Oliver's world and the hope is that she will be able to help Oliver's image and maybe see something that they are missing while trying to get to the bottom of who is behind the smear campaign.

It's a moment of instant chemistry when they meet but neither are willing to admit it. When they are forced to spend more time together to make the relationship seem real it's obvious that keeping it fake is going to be the biggest issue.

It was a bit more of a slow-burn, building up to them admitting that they aren't faking it and it was nice that it wasn't rushed because I think it fit with the story the characters were trying to build for Oliver's career.

I liked the drama and the action and enjoyed the amount of racing that was mixed into the story. It was a great balance and I was easily taken in by both the story and the characters.

I look forward to more from Mina and this series.

Oliver's season is just getting ready to start but yet again he's being hit with more false publicity that paints him in a bad light and it's enough that even the other drivers are questioning things. His team principal Benjamin Hearst has a plan and Oliver's decided he really has no other choice. If he doesn't want this to be his last season and lose all of the good things he's accomplished he has to do something.

Allie has been working for her PR company for a while and she hopes to one day move up in the company, but when she's called into her boss's office she's got a bad feeling. The offer her boss places in front of her isn't at all what she expected and she's not sure why she's been chosen for the job. After it's all laid out for her she takes the job and uproots her life with a plan to spend the next ten months traveling the world on the F1 circuit as Oliver's girlfriend.

With this being Oliver's idea Allie had thought he would be more on board to get things progressing but she's not sure pretending to fall in love with Oliver is going to be easy. Spending time with him on the circuit is both thrilling and scary and when she gets a glimpse of his life she can understand a little of his attitude but she has to push him past that if they're going to make it work.

She's much more than he thought. Oliver finds that being around Allie is something he craves and having her around makes him happier and less stressed. She makes him feel things he hasn't wanted for a while. He's sure it's just the dry spell he's had while trying to keep his head down but what he feels for her is becoming much more than fake.

When the campaign to bring Oliver down intensifies he and Allie grow closer and with the help of those they trust they work to figure out who is out to get him.

Falling in love was never part of the plan, but neither of them is faking it anymore. If they can figure out who is trying to ruin him they might just get their own happily ever after.

Happy Reading.

RACE HARD, LOVE HARDER!!

✨️ Fake Dating
✨️ Workplace Romance
✨️ Formula One Racing
✨️ He Falls First
✨️ Slow Burn
✨️ Mental Health Rep
✨️ Found Family
✨️ HEA

“Allie is easy to be around, talking to her feels as natural as breathing, and every time I put my hands on her, I want more. That kiss was meant to be for the cameras only, but one taste of her lips was never going to be enough.”

Meet Oliver Stone, my newest book boyfriend! I'm absolutely swooning over him! I'm completely new to F1 racing but what's not to love? Gorgeous athletes, fast cars, travel around the world and the world's most perfect star racer! Oliver needed help cleaning up his bad boy image and recent notoriety so his team hired Allie for an incredible PR opportunity. Fiercely independent and driven, Allie was exactly the strong FMC Oliver needed. But what would happen when the lines started to blur between fake and real?

**
“You shouldn’t have kissed me like that.”

My heart thuds faster at her words. I’m an athlete and a runner, and my heart rate doesn’t spike for anything except for racing, but it’s stuttering now, making me lightheaded.

“Kissed you like what?” I ask, stepping closer to her.

Allie puts her hands on her hips, her beautiful face flushed red in anger. “Like you care. Like— like it’s real.”

**

The tension, the angst! I loved how protective and respectful Oliver was of Allie and I was melting over how he cared for her so much. He was such a genuinely good person and his thoughtful gestures took my breath away, everything from the room service to the flowers to the Titan blue lingerie. Oliver fell for Allie so hard and so fast and his thoughts and feelings were absolutely palpable. His mental health struggles were handled really well and my heart broke over his vulnerability and everything he was experiencing. Allie was always on his side, unconditionally supportive and the calming presence he needed. I loved watching Oliver and Allie fall for each other and develop a foundation of trust even through all the obstacles they faced. But with a relationship built on lies, could this ever become something more?

“I’ll give you anything you want, Allie. You just have to ask for it.”

Congratulations, Mina, on a fantastic debut! I never thought I would get excited about F1 racing but I couldn't get enough! I was fully immersed in the setting, wrapped up in the anticipation of Oliver and Allie giving in to their growing attraction. The danger and suspense elements woven throughout the plot intrigued me and I couldn't look away for a minute. I can't wait to read Bella and West's story next and find out more about the history between them that's only a sneak peek here!

This is the first book in the new Formula for Love series, and what a great entry!
This book gives us a racing start (couldn't help myself haha) into the word of Formula 1 racing, the teams and crew involved and what will hopefully be the introduction to some of the other characters HEA's in future entries. I'm already curious as hell about West and Bella's drama.

Oliver is a secret sweetie who's being targeted and portrayed by the media as a careless party playboy. Except he really is the opposite; he hasn't been with a woman in months, and dated one in even longer; he's supposedly out partying and doing drugs yet the sobriety tests come back clean; and he is doing everything possible to keep his nose clean, yet is always found in these compromising situations. Enter Allison to help recreate his 'image'.

Allie firsts thinks this job will be an easy turn around with a few nicely timed photo's and appearances together on dates; then she can be back home before long with a nice bonus under her belt to help out her parents.

Naturally nothing is as it first seems, with Ollie not being the typical sports jock she expected, but is actually a victim of someone hell bent on destroying him. Things go from scandalous to downright dangerous, and soon everyone on the team is a suspect.
As if all that isn't bad enough, the lines between fake and real are starting to get blurry; and neither Ollie or Allie want to stop it.

This was great read overall and awesome entry into this series. I havent read a racing romance yet, and although I don't know much about F1 racing, I did grow up with my dad watching V8's race and of course Bathurst. (Go Lownde's and Courtney!) And of course going to the speedway. Lots of nostalgia on that part for me.

Ollie and Allie were so cute togther, especially at first with the hesitance of any interactions or intimacy even in front of the cameras. Ollie comes of as stand-offish and self involed with his schedule and routine, but they are both just as awkard as each other, not wanting to cross any lines or make the other uncomfortable.

The culprit was an easy spot for me, guessed it pretty early on; but it does a good job of uncovering the how's and why's of the previous 'attacks' against Ollie, how far back and deep rooted it actually was. There was speculation of a second person involved in order to enact some the scandalous photo's that were 'leaked' but it wasn't mentioned again with the reveal.

This was a great read and first entry into a new series, also a new to me author; I'll be sure to follow the rest of this series!

Fake dating the racing star was only ever meant to be a job…

Called into my boss’s office, I’m given a new assignment that sets my heart speeding: fake date a famous race car driver. Oliver Stone is an underwear model, a racing champion, and apparently a playboy.

This is Mina’s debut novel and I cannot wait for her next book/books. This book had me hooked from the first chapter - thrills, suspense, mystery, lies, intrigue and of course romance 💙🤍 The Formula One Circuit and the Titan Team are a close knit community. Someone is trying to Oliver’s career and his reputation. This is where Allie comes in.

Oliver Stone is suppose to be a work assignment and a work assignment only. What she did not count on was his pure sexual magnetism and that smile - oh boy! Allie is the perfect sweetheart girlfriend and great for Oliver’s reputation. The more time they spend together, the more feelings start to develop between them. Allie was not concerned about his celebrity status but him as a person. This was a novelty for Oliver and he liked it. Behind all the smiles, glitz and glamour of the F1, is the unanswered question, who is trying to destroy Oliver’s career?

This is the first book in the “Formula for Love” series. I thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful love story 💙🤍 From page to page, chapter to chapter, you will enjoy this beautiful story - from cover to cover! This book will not disappoint! Highly recommended 😊😊

The Fake Date Formula by Mina Sinclair is the perfect F1 romance to read!

I am a massive F1 fan so I was excited to read another f1 romance that has a fake dating trope and it did not disappoint. One thing I loved and enjoyed about Sinclair’s writing is that she doesn’t info-dump F1 terminology 101. It sets up the world of formula 1 to readers with the basics and you get to see the fun stuff about racing but it’s not the entire plot. I like that we get to know Allie and Oliver and watch their chemistry build up through the world of Motorsport and I think Mina did a great job of setting that up.

Oliver is your bit of a bad boy and needing a PR clean up where Allie is brought in to pose as his girlfriend and I just loved their dynamic. It’s so full of banter, tension, steam and cute moments where no one is looking and suddenly it’s not for pretend. The story brings the element of thrill, suspense, work place romance, fake dating, he falls first, mental health rep, found family and a bit of a medium/slow burn. You see a bit of the glitz and glam of the world of Motorsport, events, dressing up, and the lows of f1 when you’re not winning. Allie was exactly what Oliver needed, meeting his match, challenging him, a strong and driven woman that makes him want to break his rules. He becomes caring and sweet and protective and she sees the man behind the helmet and beyond his driver persona. The “will they finally admit it? Kiss?” was such a fun part added to the angsty tension of their relationship. I loved Oliver and Allie’s story. You see two people fall for each other despite not wanting to and I think that Mina did a fantastic job with her debut novel. I cannot wait to read more of her F1 romance world. Thank you again to the author for the ARC

Wow new sport romance unlocked for me with F1 Racing - - just wow!

Champion F1 Driver Oliver Stone somehow has a PR nightmare around every corner. For every good thing that he does, someone is twisting the news to show bad things and the bulk of it never happened. But the media loves to twist stuff to get the clicks from readers especially when the driver in question is a champion, gorgeous and all around catch. Oliver reaches out to his boss for help who reached out to a former contact to set up a discreet situation to both protect Oliver’s image but also hopefully figure out who is behind all the bad publicity stunts. Allies is a PR liaison that is highly recommended for the job and she is super sweet and has a great head on her. She really cares about people and even though she is going to be a fake girlfriend, she tries to be as authentic to herself as possible.

I loved how their relationship, while fake, was developing organically and Oliver even showed some moments of vulnerability when Allie wasn’t gushing all over him like others have in the past. She could have cared less about his celebrity/athlete status and tried to go into this as a business transaction but she started caring about him as a person. And Oliver was just as intrigued by Allie and he was drawn to her.

I couldn’t put it down as I loved all the side characters that also contributed to the storyline with Bella and Diana but also with Etienne. I can’t wait for more with this series as it gave you all the steamy romance along with the dangers/glam of the F1 world and overall suspense for this storyline.

🌶🌶🌶

My top read of the month, hands down.
A gorgeous romance that I will be obsessing over forever.

The dynamic between Oliver and Allie was so realistic and the fake dating was beautiful. I had so much fun reading this and I wanted to have a physical copy so that I could tab and highlight everything. I haven’t wanted to do that to a book in forever! I have probably 50 screenshots of things I want to highlight when I can buy the book!! And the spice was perfection (*chefs kiss*), the perfect amount for the characters. The slow burn made it a million times better.

I don’t want to give anything away but I loved the conflict in the book. It gave the book so much more depth and they way the characters all revolved around it made it that much better. I cried several times, and my heart felt so full by the end of it.

The girl and guy friendships are beautiful. And Mina set up a few characters for the next books that I CAN NOT wait to get my hands on. (I would say more but you guys need to read this book with no spoilers to feel the way I feel)

Also why do I kinda have the hots for Ben? 😂 like in all honestly if he had his own book I’d devour it. Also I’ve never watched a race, or even thought about formula 1 and now my entire YouTube home page is filled with F1 videos.

Thank you to Mina and her team for sending me this ARC!!!

“Nothing good can come of being summoned to my boss’ office at two p.m. on a Friday.” Or maybe a lot of good can come from it. Star formula one racer Oliver finds himself the center of attention but not the kind he wants. Someone is making up horrible lies about him and spreading doctored photographs. When his team principal comes up with the idea to hire PR expert Allie to date him and fix his reputation, the last thing Oliver and Allie expected was to actually fall in love with each other. From going on dates, attending events, cheering him on from the side lines and even trying to find out who’s really behind the slander to his name, Allie is there for him every step of the way. This book is definitely my new favorite book of all time. All of the characters and locations felt so real. Mina’s writing style is absolutely gorgeous and full of vivid details. These vivid details encapsulate you in the story and make you feel like you’re really a part of Allie and Oliver’s journey. This story was truly captivating and kept me turning page after page unable to put the book down. There is not a single thing I would change about this incredible novel and I can not wait to read all of Mina’s future works. Reading this I never would have thought this is the first ever work in her collection. I would recommend this read to anyone 18+ who loves romance, spicy books or books about sports and athletes.

My husband is a huge F1 fan and even though I usually read while he is watching qualifying and the race, I know enough about the sport. Even if you don’t know anything about the sport, it is easy to follow along with and to immerse yourself into the story.

This was an amazing debut! This was my first F1 book and it was such a good read. Allie and Oliver were just so cute together from the start. Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes and it was well done in this story. They had great chemistry, and their tension and banter were built up perfectly throughout the book. I loved when things finally heated up between the two of them.
I also enjoyed the bit of suspense and conflict in the story. I really enjoyed the additional characters in the story, and I am looking forward to reading book #2 in the series.

✔️Fake dating
✔️Sports romance (Formula 1)
✔️He falls first
✔️Banter
✔️Slow burn

“We’re colleagues and nothing more. The fact that the man’s ass looks f*ing biteable should not have any effect on my ability to perform my job.”

“I’ll give you anything you want Allie. You just have to ask for it.”

Thank you @minasinclairauthor for the ARC in exchange for my honest review! I look forward to reading your next book.

I'm a car fan whether it be Sprint Cars, V8 Supercars or F1, so this was a great book to feed my sports side! The information provided about the F1 scene was not an overload of unnecessary terminology and was enjoyable to read.

This was such a beautiful light-hearted, yet feel good read, and an absolute surprise that this is Mina's debut book, because her writing style is full of attention to detail and a perfect balance of drama, suspense, humor and romance. I look forward to future books!

Oliver and Allie lead you on quite the journey throughout with a mixture of emotions, spice and banter.

Have you ever picked up a book that just hooked you from the very first page , that played on all your emotions in ways you weren’t even expecting? That kept you up reading well into the early morning hours and left you dead on your feet the next day , because as many times as you tried you couldn’t put it down . Well The Fake Date Formula by Mia Sinclair did just that . Allie and Oliver were so freaking adorable together and the chemistry between them well sparky fly every time their in the vicinity of one another. Add into that two of my very favorite tropes Racing Romances and Fake Relationship as well as angst , humor , witty banter , drama , obstacles, love , passion, heartbreaking and heartfelt moments, family , friendships , phenomenal world building and characters you simply cannot stop yourself from falling in love with . And what you have is a love story that will make you smile , make you laugh, make you cry and keep you rooting so freaking hard from start to finish .

’I have no idea what we’re doing anymore. But as long as Allie wants to touch me, I’ll take every moment of that.’

Never thought I would fall in love with a book involving F1 racing but here I am.

Allie is a PR liaison working in Savannah and she knows that she would be making much more money if she did the same job in a bigger city like New York. However, she is content where she is because it allows her to be close to her parents and help them, especially with her dad’s disability. When she is called to her boss’ office on a Friday afternoon, the last thing she expects is to sign an NDA from Titan Industries and be asked to help clean up their star race driver’s image by being his fake girlfriend. Despite having her own reservations, the monetary benefits outweigh the cons and she agrees. Next? Destination: Dubai. And Oliver Stone is definitely not the bad boy she pictured.

The pacing was great and I honestly had a hard time putting the book down. The balance between the romance and behind the scenes of the racing industry was just perfect for me. As someone who finds formula 1 racing incredibly boring (sorry!), reading about it here was rather interesting. I’ve read plenty of books with the fake dating trope, but Oliver and Allie’s story felt somehow different in a very good way. I loved how their relationship developed and our dear MMC fell first although their initial attraction was mutual.

Allie was a great FMC: sweet and level-headed, but not afraid to be vulnerable and show her emotions either. And Oliver? Gosh, I loved him. All he cared about was his career so despite agreeing to the fake girlfriend plan, he didn’t make any effort to put it in motion at first. Of course, he couldn’t resist Allie for long ;) And when she couldn’t decide between two books to buy and he told her to get all AND pay for them? Book boyfriend status acquired! The epilogue was just perfect, the cherry on top.

Are we getting West and Bella next? 👀

Racy Contemporary Romance.

This contemporary romance, set in the fast-paced world of Formula 1 racing, is a new series from a new author. I know nothing about car racing and I only occasionally read contemporary romance but this book had me hooked from the beginning.

I loved the story. There was intrigue, danger, betrayal and an unplanned romance where he fell first. I loved the characters, the whirlwind tour of the world, the settings, the race talk, the romance and the spice.

Be aware, this book has some wonderfully detailed spicy scenes between consenting adults. This author knows how to write a good spicy scene. No spoilers from me but there’s a sofa scene that I went back and read several times.

It’s the first in a series and I am looking forward to the next one.
