Samuel's Angel

Rate this book
It is 1977 in the little town of Shelley, Idaho. Introverted young Samuel Jordan has drawn a shell around himself from which escape seems impossible. Then that fall young Angelica moved into Samuel's school. Recovering from a brain tumor doesn't stop Angelica from being an outgoing optimist, making her personality almost the exact opposite of Samuel's, although they share many of the same interests. From this unlikely friendship, Samuel first begins to learn trust and love, but it is through this friendship that he will face his greatest challenge.

I'm glad I finally took time to read Samuel's Angel. It was hard to put down. It was fun seeing names of people that I know, from years past, in this story. The story drew me in and I could imagine the places and people at that time, even though I didn't live there at this time. I recommend everyone to read this story, young and old. Another great story by Kirby.

Great Story

The story was interesting, well told and sad. My teen aged grand children would probably like it. Since I was a young parent at the setting of this story, I found it factual and evoked many memories. Good read!

Love this book. Kirby is a great author and i am really proud that he is from my small home town of Shelley Idaho. This book was a joy to read, but have a box of tissues close by.
