The 60s Apprentice

Rate this book
The sixties have just begun, and as yet there is little indication of the excitement and excesses that would unfold during the notorious decade that was to shock and change the World.

When David Wilding, a typical teenager of that era starts his five-year engineering apprenticeship at Bentleys, the giant local aero engine factory, he could never have dreamed of the series of catastrophic events that were about to engulf him.

His old fashioned up-bringing, soon brings him into conflict with the militant, communist inspired trade union at Bentleys resulting in the threat of industrial action. At the same time a blossoming love affair with the lovely Sally who works as a tracer in Bentley’s drawing office drags them both into the midst of a plot to steal secret, classified drawings and sell them to Russia.
