I’m in a reflective space so this is less of a review of this textbook and more of a snapshot in time for me to look back on (although this textbook is fantastic!) I intended to use my time in this course, and the pages of this textbook to better understand the basic biological concepts of neuroscience. The field has always been deeply fascinating to me, but i knew that choosing to dedicate a large part of my life to studying it would require clarity on how deep that fascination went. Months later, the very professor who designed this course for my current university would be recruiting me to one of my dream neuroscience undergraduate programs. there’s years of studying, thousands of unanswered questions, and lots of textbooks in my future - and i’m ready for it all 🥹

I learned all my intro to neuroscience course material from this book because my professor taught us nothing.

Okay, since I basically read this book front to back for class, I am going to mark it on Goodreads. Overall, I recommend it if you enjoy Behavioural Neuroscience or are required to take this class... it had some jokes that made me chuckle sometimes.

I mean I truly can’t complain, I did end up switching my major to behavioral neuroscience so I think this textbook made that knowledge and interest so accessible. The sections are a good length and truly was informative!! Unfortunately, the rat sex diagram is seared into my brain forever !!
