Cringey and melodramatic! His mommy dearest is dying, yet he’s too busy losing himself in the heroine. She can’t stop begging him, and he’s too dumb to be rich. Honestly, they should have been sent straight to character rehab instead of getting a happy ending.

The Contract book one in Club V series is my first read by new to me author Eva Haining.
Through the telling of dual perspective, we follow the story of once High School Sweethearts Nadia ‘Naddie/Nad’ Sullivan and Dalton Rutherford in what is a Second Chance, Forced Proximity, Dom/Sub Romance.

The characters Naddie and Dalton pulled me in from the get go with their story, there was just something about them and their love story that had you rooting hard for them, despite this being a Second Chance Romance for the two.
Then again how could you not, given each and every moment between Naddie and Dalton that was showcased by author Eva proved the bond they shared along with their emotional connection and physical touch never extinguished.
Even despite been broken apart, with time and distance having passed them by for many years, the flame still flickered.

The storyline of The Contract truly was an emotional charged whirlwind of a ride to say the least, so much so that you couldn’t help but continue turning each and every page to read more.
From the very real longing in the emotions that author Eva wrung out from both Naddie and Dalton individually and simultaneously, it was no wonder it had you deep in the feels.
Especially when it came to the emotional aspect of their love, proving they were soulmates.
Author Eva ensured it was front and center in their inner monologue within their individual POV.
Seeing the love they once shared bloom all over again, whilst being expressed through the exploration of everything little sentiment they felt and communicated towards one another.
As well as when it came to the physical that had temperatures off the charts in every moment shared between the two.
Each scene between the two seemed to always get kicked up a notch, only to be taken into high gear with how spicy and fiery it truly was.

The narrative did bring in other elements, some of which made it known that this wasn’t necessarily a typical Second Chance Romance like you would expect.
Given the BDSM and Dom/Sub aspect Naddie and Dalton ventured and explored thoroughly through, bringing in some very detailed spiciness as mentioned above.
Plus there was also the inclusion of some twists and turns that came about for Naddie and Dalton, leading to moments of drama, which added more dimension to the overall storyline, knowing they had their work cut out for them.

My only critique would have to be was it could've been nice to maybe see the inclusion of flashback scenes from Naddie and Dalton's past when they were younger, showcasing them and their love for one another back then. Allowing more detail into their love story with seeing and feeling it rather than hearing the two mention it.

With The Contract being my first read from author Eva Haining, she did a great job.
Not only was it an enjoyable read overall from the development of the story alongside the characters of Naddie and Dalton. But also from the way it pulled on my heartstrings from the emotions express throughout.
After this it has me looking forward to wanting to read more from Club V series and the author Eva too.

It was ok... The general plot had so much potential but it just lacked something for me. She's meant to be this strong, independent, kickass lawyer yet the character was not written that way at all. There are points where she just lets him treat her like crap. She then forgives him instantly with no argument, she just goes back to him time and time again. That's not being in a sub/Dom relationship, you don't just forgive hitting hard limits and mistreatment because he's your "master".

And the over use of her calling him master 🤢 I can get on board with it in the 🌶️ scenes but all the damn time in normal conversation etc, it made it feel really stilted.

It was an easy read as a palate cleanser for my normal dark romance and fantasy but just didn't quite hit the mark.

~The Contract: Room 1(Club V)~ Eva Haining~

“I’ve always loved her. Everything I’ve done… everything I’ve achieved… was to become a man worthy of her. I. F**king. Love. Her.”

💙The Contract was my first read by Eva Haining, and I loved it! The Contract follows Dalton & Naddie, who were high-school sweethearts that shared all of their firsts and ended up going separate ways because of life. Life has a funny way of bringing people back together! Naddie was offered the job of a lifetime, and Dalton was offered the perfect lawyer. Little did they know it would be each other!! This was a perfect second chance romance, and the spice was great!! I'm excited to continue the rest of the series💙

~As always happy reading~

Hated it. He betrayed the trust she put in him as a dom. Then she still came back. I know you're grieving, i knew how it feels, but putting all your anger feelings directed towarda your sub is fcking dumb. I was barely cringing the whole book. The bdsm part was poorly written i had to skip those parts and the other scenes was cringe. It should've researched first. The entire contract was explained that it was built with trust. But that trust around the book was fcking missing. The trust was broken at the last part of the book but it was pulled through with the "love" that wasn't even told correctly. It was awful. I'm warning you. Dont. Fcking. Read. This.

Toxic Green Pill

What an absolutely abusive toddler.

Holy absolute fuck.

He neglects her for weeks and she's still letting him away with it.

Didn't convince me that he made her feel free.

The entire book she behaved neurotic and indecisive over him.

He made her feel unsafe and insecure.

The Toxic Green Pill of a Patriarchial Parable.

Control isn't power.

If you want her to feel free, then write her acting free and I might fucking believe you.

But then, I'm not unseen, unsexed and unloved, I've never needed a man to starve parts of my body, like my head, of oxygen because I dunno how to take an orgasm from him.

Chronic.

But you like being submitted.

Unseen.

Remember, choking is on the rise. Buy consent isn't. Consent is always enthusiastic.

Give me Dalton Callaghan any day

WOW!! Welcome back Eva Haining!!!

I've missed reading words from this talented author. They're honest, emotional, and absolutely delicious. THE CONTRACT: ROOM 1 is the first book in her new series Club V, based around the patrons of the elite BDSM club Venom. A second chance, forced proximity, Dom/sub, billionaire romance which is emotional and spicy with an added touch of suspense. It is the story of childhood sweethearts given a second chance after losing touch for fifteen years. Will they take that chance?

Nadia Sullivan and Dalton Callaghan were soulmates, destined to be together forever, they shared all their firsts and had even made plans for their future. It took one fateful day to destroy everything, including their hearts. Dalton's life was upended and the two were torn apart. Nadia left to study law at Harvard, while Dalton put all his energy into becoming a successful businessman. They have spent the past fifteen years working toward their dreams, the love for the one who got away deeply entrenched in their hearts. Life has a habit of throwing out unexpected curveballs, and a business meeting has Nadia walking into a client meeting with Dalton.

Dalton cannot believe his "Naddie" is in front of him, and neither can she. From first glance the chemistry they once shared instantly returns, but they are no longer the same people. Nassie has discovered she is a submissive, while Dalton has become the Dom he was always meant to be. While their chemistry sizzles, the heat between them is molten hot, the Dom and submissive perfectly complementing each other. Dalton does everything he can to get Naddie back and keep her in his life, but she is wary, not wanting to be hurt again. Dalton has spent the past fifteen years building himself into a man who would be worthy of Naddie, but would his belief that he cannot give love to Naddie tear them apart?

I adored Naddie. She was independent, strong-willed, knew her desires, was extremely patient with Dalton, and wasn't shy about speaking her mind. Dalton ... well, he was delicious. Yes, he was ruthless when it came to business, but with Naddie he was a completely different man, he was caring, protective, loving. However, it was at the Club and in the bedroom where this enigmatic man really came to life, he was authoritative, demanding, and oh so sexy. Give me Dalton Callaghan any day!!! I loved that Naddie was able to show Dalton he was more than who he thought he was, but it took time, love and a lot of persistence. Nothing runs smoothly for this couple, along with Dalton's self-doubt they have numerous hurdles to overcome, including outside interference.

THE CONTRACT: ROOM 1 was a thoroughly entertaining read, which often had me squirming in my seat, especially from those very descriptive spicy scenes. There was also the added humour brought through Dalton's best friend Flex, this man does not know how to censor his words. Jenna, Naddie's best friend, was also interesting, she doesn't know how to hold back on her thoughts either. Eva Haining knows how to draw her readers in with her use of emotions, her ability to ensure reader/character connection, and through the addictive storylines she delivers. Naddie and Dalton's story is definitely unputdownable, with the passion, forgiveness, acceptance, twists, turns, drama, and love, which Eva successfully delivers. I cannot wait for more from this series.

A highly recommended read, a top five for 2024.

If you're a fan of second chances, sizzling chemistry, and heart-tugging romance, then you need to dive into The Contract: Room 1 by Eva Haining. This first book in the Club V series introduces us to Naddie Sullivan and Dalton Callaghan, high school sweethearts whose love story was interrupted by life’s harsh realities but reignites years later under unexpected circumstances.

Dalton Callaghan seemed to have it all – charm, good looks, success, and wealth. But when his father was imprisoned for fraud, his carefully planned future crumbled, and he had to let go of the only girl he ever loved, Naddie. Fast forward to today, Naddie has built a successful career in Boston, but fate brings her to Manhattan and back into Dalton’s orbit, forcing her to choose between the life she’s built and the man she’s always loved.

I was hooked by Naddie and Dalton's story. Their chemistry is undeniable, and Eva Haining does an exceptional job of showcasing their unbreakable bond and deep emotional connection. Even after years apart, their love remains palpable and intense. The dual perspectives allow readers to deeply understand both characters, making their journey all the more immersive.

The Contract: Room 1 is a powerful, emotional rollercoaster that beautifully combines romance, drama, and spicy scenes. Eva Haining’s storytelling will tug at your heartstrings and leave you eagerly anticipating the next installment in the Club V series. If this is your introduction to Eva Haining, you’re in for a treat – she’s definitely an author to watch!

Highly recommend for anyone looking for a passionate, emotional, and unforgettable love story!

I absolutely loved this book from chapter one!!!! So many emotions while reading this but boy it's good!

Naddie and Dalton are a couple when younger they grow up together and eventually they fall in love and become high school sweethearts, but when Naddie's dream falls right in her lap Dalton can't hold her back he tells her to chase that dream. Naddie pursues those dreams and she ends up moving to study law at Harvard and Dalton puts all his time and energy into becoming a successful business man! Flash forward 15 years and they have both moved on with their lives and both become successful but.......when they meet again all those feelings come rushing back!!! They clearly aren't the same people Naddie is now a submissive while Dalton has become a Dominant.

Dalton owns a BDSM club called Venom along with his friends, so when Naddie and Dalton get together at the club, boy are those some spicy scenes!!! 🔥 This is a fantastic second chance love romance I honestly couldn't put this down such a good story and I can't wait for more in this series. The secondary characters Flex and Jenna both had me in stitches such great chemistry between all the characters to be honest I cannot wait for more!!!

The book grabbed me from the get go. It’s packed full of emotional chapters that had my heart racing at times and soaring at others. Dalton and Naddie were each other’s first in almost all things. Growing up next door to one another as small kids, they promised one another everything as they grew into young adults. But fate had other plans. Through no fault of his own, Dalton knew he had to let Naddie go to follow dreams once they graduated high school. Both devastated but Dalton knew he couldn’t hold her back. It’s now 15 years later. Both have moved on - Naddie a successful Lawyer and Dalton a self made billionaire. Once again it seems fate has stepped in when Naddie walks into Dalton’s conference room as the new attorney recommended to take over his account. Once the shock wears off, old wants and desires come rushing in. But their lifestyles are no longer the same, nor are their sexual preferences now that they are adults and not teens.

Watching these two weather all types of storms as they attempt a second chance at love was beyond breathtaking. I can’t recommend The Contract enough. It’s an outstanding love story with a well written BDSM second chance storyline.

This Contract is Smoking Hot and Utterly Unforgettable

I am shooketh and swooning because of The Contract’s second-chance romance. Eva Haining has created characters with depth and a steamy story that will be remembered.

This billionaire romance features Nadia and Dalton. They were high school sweethearts and broke up because Nadia (Naddy) went to law school. Dalton worked his way up to billionaire after his father’s scandal. Fifteen years later, they found each other again. It worked out even better when Dalton and Naddy realize that they are Dom/Sub, something they didn’t know when they were in high school. I loved that the erotic nature of them rekindling that love is straight up fire. Only green flags for Naddy and Dalton

The story takes the reader on a ride into the BDSM world in Dalton’s club, Viper. It’s velvety, emerald green and gold goodness that screams “take me.” Eva does a great job introducing terms in the BDSM world in a natural way through Naddy and Dalton as they explore this dynamic together.

Overall I loved The Contract, especially because I bought the special author curated box of goodies and the paperback. This story gets…

This is a fantastic story by Eva Haining. There are so many emotional moments throughout the story. It has real life situations that definitely pulls at you. It keeps you glued to it from the very beginning. We meet Naddie and Dalton together as they are in their younger years. As the story progresses we experience the life they are currently living. Maddie is this sweet and strong lady. Honestly, she has the patience of a saint. She experiences some things that would absolutely have you steaming mad and ready to kick some tail. But, through it all she is sweet lady that you instantly like. Dalton is this gruff and tough guy that at times you love to hate. But, through it all you see how protective and caring he is with the ones he loves. The story is extremely well written and developed. It pulled me in and didn’t let go. I just had to find out what happened. It has some steamy moments that definitely adds to the story. I really enjoyed how the story ends and it is absolutely a stunning story that you will definitely want to read.

I love a good second chance moment!

Dalton and Naddie were young lovers. The shared all of their firsts, including a dom/sub relationship that they didn't understand at the time, but they had to part when Naddie went off to college and Dalton didn't go with her.
It's over a decade later and Dalton is a successful businessman and Naddie is a lawyer looking for her dream job. She ends up in Manhattan and it turns out the biggest client she will be working with is none other than Dalton!
Their chemistry is off the charts no matter how forbidden having their relationship is due to work. And not to mention the club comes into play... and the contract!
They have to work through all of their troubles to get their HEA! And boy are their troubles! There's angst and some serious growth that has to happen, but they get there!

Amazing story

From the very first page, The Contract: Room 1 had me hooked, and I couldn’t put it down. This book delivers an emotional, passionate, and beautifully written second-chance romance that keeps you invested until the very end.

The chemistry between the main characters is undeniable. Their journey back to each other after years apart is both heart-wrenching and heartwarming. Despite the loss they experienced when they separated in their youth, their love never wavered—they were always meant to be. The emotional depth in their relationship makes every moment between them feel real, and their steamy connection only adds to the intensity of their story.

The author does an incredible job of making you feel every emotion the characters go through. From longing to love, heartbreak to hope, the writing pulls you in and doesn’t let go. It’s the kind of book that makes you feel everything alongside the characters, and that’s what makes it so special.

I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. If this book is any indication, the rest will be just as amazing!

My first read by Eva Haining already has me wanting more. She had me at the tropes for this book but when I got into the story and saw how she played them out with Nadia and Dalton...done for. Hook. Line. And. Sinker.

The fact that she wrote such an emotional and passionate story with a great storyline, and added in all the hot! hot! hot! scenes made it one of my top reads this year. Don't get me wrong, I love the steamy scenes very very much, but I also like an actual story and character development and she delivered.

I devoured The Contract. The characters, storyline, emotions, spice, all of it was absolutely amazing.

High school sweethearts torn apart cross paths unexpectedly after 15 years and the chemistry is still very much there. I loved that they both grew so much and became the people they were meant to be, but each still held a flame for the other. Their story played out so perfectly.

I am very much looking forward to more form this series and Eva Haining.

what an introduction!

This was such a great story. I love that each book is numbered by room. This series follows the stories from the couples of each room at the ultra exclusive BDSM club, Venom. This story follows Dalton and Nadia who grew up next door, were madly in love and were separated at 18. Fate or something like it brings them back together and the book follows their love as adults, finding their footing together. They have a dom/sub relationship.

I adored this book. I picked it up today on KU after I came across the author’s TikTok talking about it and I read it in one fell swoop. I just couldn’t put it down. I’m a sucker for a BDSM story, I’m a sucker for a second chance romance, put them together and I’m your girl. The chemistry and love between Naddie and Dalton jumped off the page from the get go, they were truly made for each other. I am absolutely starting the next book. Tomorrow. It’s after midnight now.

I really thoroughly enjoyed this book.. at least for the most part and especially in the beginning. I liked the idea of a second chance at love for a couple who had the good fortune to meet their person at a young age but timing somehow didn’t align. However, where this book fell a bit flat for me was the dom/sub portrayal. Now, don’t get me wrong, this theme is not something I shy away from but I feel like this had such a huge cringe factor with the terms of endearment - imagine not being able to call your partner by their actual name? I also didn’t like that their dom/sub relationship was indeed “24/7” which just felt strange as there wasn’t a degree of separation in and out of the bedroom and so it didn’t feel like we could really see the strong, independent and accomplished female lead.. I feel like we only saw glimpses here and there which was a shame.

Oh, I really loved this book.

Dalton and Naddie were high school sweethearts, but Dalton couldn't let her live and stay with him without giving her up to chase her dreams.

15 years later. Neither of them has forgotten the other. Going through life without each other had become easier.

Until Naddie walks into the office to sign a contract with a big client.

Dalton.

The dam has burst for these two, and there is no dousing the flames that ignite when they are close to each other. This book was very sexy and spicy AF, and I loved every minute.

Dalton is possessive and obviously dominant, so naturally, he behaved this way, but there was so much more to the story. Both Naddie and Dalton belong to one another, and their journey to their HEA isn't easy.

Definitely recommend 👌

First, I want to say that Eva is one of the sweetest people I've had the privilege of talking to in quite a while. I found her on social media, ordered her book, received some awesome swag with the book, and made plans to start reading immediately. Plans as we all know usually fall to the wayside for real life and that's what happened. So on September 27, Hurricane Helene hit and we lost power immediately. I started reading and enjoyed it. The last week has been a stressful one for many people because of the hurricane and it was a nice distraction for me to read Naddie and Dalton's story. I can see so many possibilities that could come from this series and I'm looking forward to reading the next book.

The Contract

The main characters are complex and their relationship is interesting.

Sometimes the formality of their dom/sub relationship took me out of the intimacy of the moment. Like it was hard to get how close they felt when they were playing their roles (maybe because they are playing roles?).

Whenever I read these bdsm sorts of stories, I look for the dom's awareness of just how vulnerable the sub makes themselves for the dom. Usually this requires the dom to put themselves in a submissive scene which we get here. But I would have liked to see him grovel a bit more for how hurtful he was to her after his mom died.

Both main characters have great best friends.

it was mid at best

The book was okay,nothing special

I didn't like how we know Dalton's motivations but we don't know much about Nadia
All we know about her is that she's into dom/sub stuff, she studied law at Harvard and was Dalton's high school sweetheart and has a friend,Jenna
We know absolutely nothing about her family and childhood
This book was heavily centred around Dalton and his motivations and weaknesses
It was all about Naddie accepting him despite his faults, her sacrificing all she's worked hard for just for Dalton

I'm excited to see who Jenna is gonna end up with

If Contract Room 1 in the tantalisingly steamy Club V by Eva Haining is any indication, the other rooms promise to be an electrifying experience. This second chance romance sizzles as high school sweethearts Naddie and Dalton reunite after years of heartbreak. Once sharing all their firsts, it's now time for Dalton to reclaim the only woman he's ever loved. In Room 1, where Dom and Sub can finally unleash their passion, their journey is fraught with challenges but culminates in a spectacular finale. The heat, the longing, the raw intensity—Ms Haining masterfully crafts a tale that leaves you yearning for more. Don't miss out on the explosive chemistry and seductive allure of Club V.

I loved it. But the only thing that annoyed me was at the beginning when she didn’t want to be with him and work for him because otherwise it would go against the lawyer client rule.
I feel like this isn’t the typical long lost boyfriend/ girlfriend typ of book. He wanted her to leave him to Perdue her dream of going to Harvard and being a lawyer. I love how much he loves her. It was a dick move when they didn’t talk to each other when his mother died and he grieved. He said something with he couldn’t look into her eyes because while his mother was dying he was fucking her.
The book was hot but not that hot.

This book was absolutely perfect. It’s everything I could want in a book. The chemistry and the tension between Dalton and Naddie was so addicting to indulge in. This book was so well written and even poetic at times. The love that they have for each other is utterly swoon-worthy.

The smut was top tier! So hot and steamy. The club was definitely one of my favorite parts of the book. Also a character I absolutely fell in love with was Flex. Author pls write a book where Flex is mmc I would scream from excitement😭

Anyways, I truly am in love with this book and I already have her next one, The Masquerade, waiting for me to crack open.

Where to start! The prolog had me in my feels and the fact that he let her go only for them to get back together in the end..... Yes PLEASE! The relationship between them is amazing and even when he pushed her away she was still loyal to him and stood up for him and their relationship. That is what a great sub does when she has respect love and trust in her dom. I am so happy they found each other when they need it. Not to mention the spice!!!! You can't have that much spice if the characters don't have some form of commitment to each other! Can't wait to get book 2!

I have thoughts, but I think this illustrates some of the complexities of a 24/7 tpe relationship. Like, you find your person, and then live this life that seems crazy if you try to describe it, but people on the outside also don’t see the shit that goes down as life happens and the way there’s a relationship on “paper” but you have immense power to hurt each other and you must work your way through it and even as you live roles, you can’t get bogged down by them either….? Anyway, it’s complicated. 🤪

I honestly had never heard of this author or this book until I randomly came across her TikTok and she was talking about being an indie author and boy am I glad I couldn’t click ‘buy’ fast enough. This was a great start to this series and for an indie author I thought the writing and editing was great! Dalton and Naddie are such an endearing couple. I honestly didn’t see the plot twist coming 3/4 into the book and it was wrapped up quickly - I liked that it wasn’t drawn out! I just ordered the second book in the series and I can’t wait to see what more Club Venmo holds!

I was honestly disappointed in this book. It read like someone who knows almost nothing about the BDSM lifestyle and tries to use it as a drag into the book. There was so little actual back story or character development in this book.

The overuse of the pet names in and out of the spicy scenes was off putting and I cringed every time I read “seated to the hilt.” Overall this book had potential but there was just a lack of effort into the character development. The author instead chose to rely heavily on the spicy scenes to carry the book.
