Nityami Thakur hails from Bhopal and only has a simple request from that she get a man who loves her as unconditionally and loyally as she would. But her pursuit of this simple wish has landed her on a journey where every man she meets only punctures her confidence, convincing her that perhaps she is not good for anybody. Sick and tired of window-shopping for Mr Right, Nityami gets to know that her first love from school is somewhere in Sikkim. And that he has recently broken up. With renewed hope and the desire to take a break from her messy present, Nityami decides to take a road trip to Sikkim.

Falak Sultana hails from New Delhi and is a born fighter. Coming from a broken home with an abusive father, she worked hard to not only set up her own small food delivery service but, unbeknownst to her family, to also pursue an MBA, aspiring to bigger life goals. Her only friend is her stepmother, who is her age. Just when Falak thinks her life is finally aligning with her dreams, she ends up doing something drastic, which makes her run for her life. And she reaches Sikkim.

When the two girls find themselves, coincidentally, in the same cab, they feel the company would be good for the road trip ahead. But little do they know whom destiny has kept in store for them. Someone who had changed their lives when they had first met, and will once again alter their lives.

Remember Me As Yours is as much a fast-reading romantic comedy, as it is a poignant coming-of-age tale of two girls who find themselves singled out by society and are desperate to make sense of their personal losses.

Have you ever read a book that lingers in your mind long after you've turned the last page? " Remember Me as Yours" by Novoneel Chakraborty is exactly that kind of read—a whirlwind of emotions, unexpected twists, and characters so real that you’ll feel like you’ve known them forever.

At its heart, this story follows Nityami and Falak—two girls with completely different lives but the same aching desire for something more. Nityami carries the weight of heartbreak and revenge, while Falak fights for a future in a family that barely acknowledges her existence. Fate throws them together in a cab, heading toward the same destination, and from there, their lives take a turn neither of them could have imagined.

Now, let’s talk about Falak—because she’s a total baddie! She gave me Alia Bhatt in Darlings vibes, and I LOVED it. Her sharp comebacks, her quiet rebellion, and the way she refuses to be broken? Chef’s kiss. I laughed at some of her savage moments because this girl does not hold back! She’s the kind of character who makes you want to grab popcorn and just watch her shake things up.

What I loved most about this book is how it dives deep into friendships, love, and the quiet battles we fight behind closed doors. Nityami’s fiery spirit and Falak’s boldness make them unforgettable. You’ll find yourself rooting for them, hurting with them, and maybe even seeing a part of yourself in their struggles.

Novoneel’s writing keeps you hooked—every twist, every raw emotion, every moment of vulnerability pulls you in deeper. There’s drama, there’s heartache, and there’s a reminder that sometimes, love isn’t just about romance; it’s about finding yourself in the process.

If you love books that make you feel—really feel—this one’s for you. Get ready for a rollercoaster of emotions, a dash of humor, and a story that will stay with you long after you close the book.

I have read only one book by Novoneel Chakraborty which was Whisper to me your lies. It was a thriller novel and it kept me hooked from the very beginning, however with this novel, I was really looking forward to a good read but this novel didn’t add up to my expectations at all.

As a reader we all want books we can emotionally connect with, deeply feel what the characters are going through and a good plot but this book lacked everything. The plot was rushed and didn’t had any substance, the character development was missing and the even though both the female characters came from a struggling background, the emotional depth to their story was missing. The only part I liked reading about was the struggles faced by Falak, being abused by her boyfriend and father and yet she bravely kept on pursuing what she wanted in her life and even helped her step mother to breathe and live her own life despite being in shackles of the marriage with her own father.

The plot and the characters do not at all give justice to the title and the cover. The title and the cover are both pretty and makes one excited to read but after reading one will be left with wanting a bit more to the story and the characters.

Completed the book in a day.

TW: graphical details of sexual scenes and sexual assault.

A very contemporary approach to the story of 2 girls belonging to different backgrounds uniting for the same person but because of different situations finding their ways ultimately. The story felt very practical and new gen, as it should be.

The book spans through different spheres of life like relationships and their impacts, social conditioning, marriage as a concept, work culture and truths behind it, comfort v/s luxury in materialistic as well as mental terms, mental health, domestic abuse, assault and many more. The contemporary approach makes it very relatable in finding the right pulse and flow of the story. The language of Chakraborty is always commendable for he writes in a very clear cut precise manner and here as well, we find it.

Although the story was perfectly practical, the usual element of 'wow' factor felt missing in this work. Of course thrillers can't be compared to a light hearted romcom, still, since I search for something different in every story I read, I couldn't find that spark. Usually chakraborty's work leaves you numb and introspective for quite some time and that was missing for me, this time. Apart from that, it's a good one time read, especially while you're traveling or if you're on a vacation.

Name : Remember Me As Yours
Author : Novoneel Chakraborty
Genre : Contemporary

My 💭:
[30/07/24 9.17PM]

Um okay wow. That was A LOT. A 220 page book has my head reeling 😵!

So, this is the first time I have read a book by this author. I know he's been a sensational author since forever and has such a huge youth reader fandom. Since I didn't used to read Indian contemporary romance books much, I never had the chance to read his works. But it's a new me now and this genre has quietly risen in ranks in my favourites list, so here we are.

First of all, I totally understand why the author is a bestseller. He narrates the plot is such a way that you will be hooked right from the start. And the pace is so so taut and perfect. I, for one, don't enjoy slow pace in ANY genre, except literary fiction. I was having an unexpected rush day at office yesterday and today. But the moment I read the first line yesterday night, I couldn't stop reading for 10 chapters straight. Superb pacing, as I said.

The plot is very very unexpected. Whatever notion is forming in your mind right now judging by the cover and the title - just forget all of it. And in spite of everyone calling this book a romcom, I won't call it so after actually reading the book. Readers, please start this book with a blank slate. Honestly, this was a really really unexpected read and it brought A LOT of childhood memories back. Memories of first crushes, romanticising small things, daydreaming unrealistic scenarios, delusioning myself into discovering futile meanings behind normal actions - basically all pink tinted memories came rushing to me. Idk what those feelings were, a way to cope with harsh life maybe? An escape? But, I will confess one thing - reminiscing about those feelings still grounds me and makes me feel calm and safe. I related to the character Nityami on several points.

I enjoyed reading about both Nityami and Falak. They are 2 strangers who have both unknowingly made the same guy their Mr Perfect mentally and have made him their romantic safe haven. I loved the contrast in their characters - Nityami, the people pleasing rule follower giving in to her rebel side and Falak, a strong survivalist, trapped in an impossible situation and behaving like a docile woman. Although I have no idea why Falak kept her bf after the initial days, especially with the excuse that other guys are the same. Why not stay single, girl 👀? Anyway, for both of them, there was a lot of repressed rage and hurt in both of their lives, especially because they are women in a small minded society. The author has done well to represent their feelings and situations to us.

Nityami and Falak's lives converge in a weird way and there in starts their self healing and self acceptance journey. This is the part I loved the most in the story. The ending did seem a bit abrupt and unexpected things started happening. But the motivating message in the last chapter is an eye opener for every youth who feels trapped in their lives.

Honestly, I wish I could introduce Nityami and Falak to BTS and make them listen to Jin's Epiphany daily.

Novoneel Chakraborty has always been my go-to author. His books are always too good to take me from the reading slump. This book is no less than an exciting journey of two girls who with time, understand life and love, who with time understand how every rejection has taken them to a better place. Remember Me as Yours by Novoneel Chakraborty is a story of Nityami and Falak who have their own set of problems to handle. While Nityami searches for love and revenge from everyone who has broken her heart, Falak strives for education while living in a family that never cared about her. The two of them have their ways of dealing with their losses and meet in a cab, with the same destination, where they meet Vedant Kaushal- the love of their lives.

The story unfolds in a fast-paced manner and beautifully explores the themes of love, loss, and hope. Through the perspectives of Nityami and Falak, the author paints a vivid picture of their struggles and aspirations, making their characters deeply relatable. Nityami's unwavering resolve and Falak's determined attitude truly made me connect with them on a personal level. Their journey allowed me to understand the complexities of life and the nuances of love.

In Nityami's part, we see how female friendship can go wrong at times, how sometimes your own family won't understand you and how sometimes you have to give a chance to love. How society defines us with our actions without knowing our perspective. Her relationship with her friends and her parents tells us a lot about typical Indian society. While on Falak's journey, we see the struggles within a family that made her rebel. We see how she fought for everything she wanted in life and how tough her life is. Here we see female friendship as a blessing. The bond she shares with Razia will make you fall in love with her.

With an exciting plot and gripping narrative, Novoneel weaves an outstanding tale with layers of love and friendship. I loved the way he adds the little twists making it fun for the readers. Candid and entertaining, with his captivating writing, Novoneel shows readers sometimes how love can be simple as well as cruel. I enjoyed the later part of the story where they both meet, of course, the twists kept me going.

Remember Me as Yours is a rollercoaster of emotions, filled with drama, entertainment, and unexpected twists that kept me engrossed until the very end. While the climax felt a bit hurried, the overall storytelling and character development made this book a worthwhile read. It's the perfect companion for a leisurely afternoon.

is not a romance tale incase you thought so. It is an interesting travel story symbolizing self-discovery and realization. The storyline revolves around two dynamic women, Nityami Thakur and Falak Sultana, who break free from the toxic environment—family, workplace, and relationships.
.
Nityami is a Bhopal-based banker who has been suckered into two relationships that ended unsuccessfully. She drives all the way to Sikkim alone. Falak is a fighter from New Delhi, juggling an MBA with a personal life that's running completely haywire. When certain situations get out of hand, she too drives off to Sikkim. Two strangers meet by chance; it blooms into a companionable journey with unexpected twists. But they are connected by one person, whom they both love!
.
An immensely detailed story that they held their strong essence of womanhood—both in strength and vulnerability. Two characters from different walks of life, they all share an inner resilience. Nityami's struggle to break free from the expectations of society and Falak's fight against family oppression are so vividly depicted, a bond shared between them becomes more compelling.
.
Nityami and Falak's journey is a complete emotional rollercoaster. Their strife and triumphs resonate deep inside of me, particularly the way they fought against societal norms and insecurities with no fear whatsoever. The book remains very contemporary in dealing with character growth and the enigma that human relationships are, thereby giving depth to the narrative.
That which came across most as most relatable was the intensity of their struggles and the added bonus was featuring Sikkim which is one my favourite places to relax, somewhere Chakraborty's Bengali genes ticked 😁
.
In the end, I found myself wondering what the future held for Nityami and Falak. As I said, their journey was only starting; I left with hope and curiosity as to where life would take these two next. If you are into personal growth stories but this time with a modern twist, then "Remember Me As Yours" is the book you can't afford to miss.

I've read many books by Novoneel Chakraborty, and his knack for crafting gripping thrillers always drew me in. His ability to develop characters and weave intricate plots is remarkable, so when "Remember Me As Yours" was released, I knew I had to pick it up.
I just loved the cover design .So vivid and color's compliment the illustrations.

The story revolves around Nityami Thakur and Falak Sultana, two women from starkly different backgrounds who find themselves fighting for a better life.
The juxtaposition of their lives is masterfully woven into the narrative, with themes of patriarchy, domestic violence, career ambitions, and, most importantly, self-discovery, addressed with great care.

As their journeys unfold, experiences as contrasting as that of Nityami and Falak bring forward universal female struggles in a society that often pushes one into rigid expectations. While Nityami's quest is for love, Falak is determined to have a life of her own, both breaking the set boundaries across them by their respective environments, making clear the resilience it takes in following one's desires and dreams. Their stories talk about what's tough and raw with relationships, hurtful personal sacrifices, and the will to forge new paths.
So this is a coming-of-age story, fast in pace, spanning the throes of two women at crossroads.

As Nityami and Falak struggle up the ebbs and flows of their respective journeys, there comes to the fore a sense of growing up, finding one's identity amidst life's struggles.
From love to loss, all the way through to following one's dreams, they chart a tapestry of emotions that make this book not a romance story but a deep exploration into the human spirit of growth and resilience.
On every turn of the page, Chakraborty skillfully weaves suspense and introspection to keep the reader riveted as the protagonists evolve, face their fears, and ultimately find themselves.
However I think the story felt bragged in between. And I couldn’t find "Com" of this RomCom. I will be waiting for the next installment though.

A fast-paced Romcom. I have always enjoyed reading Novoneel Chakraborty books, and this one was no less. Keeping you hooked from the very 1st page the story gets interesting and fun. I so loved the revenge these girls take. Novoneel has a wonderful style of bringing in a realistic background to his storyline making you connect with it. There were many fun scenes but also scenes where I wanted to punch the guys. Nityami and Falak's character development was done perfectly. I adore all three characters Nityami ,Falak and Razia. Overall a Fabulous read.

Remember Me As Yours by Novoneel Chakraborty is the story of two girls, Nityami Thakur and Falak Sultana. Though both come from diagonally opposite backgrounds, what unites them is a trip to Sikkim in the quest for calmness among chaos, again for different reasons.

The author taps into multiple serious issues and themes of our society concerning women through the characters - toxic relationships, uncaring parents, abuse, trauma, sexual assault and violence, independence, and the fight for education and career among a few others. With the easy language and length, the book could be easily finished in a day or two.

The relationship of Nityami with Hemant, and Falak and Razia stood out well for me, and the parent-child relationship for both the protagonists was shown well.

The book is presented as a Romantic Comedy, but it neither feels fulfilling as romance nor comedy (at all). And though the story taps into many themes and issues that persist in today's time, the way they were incorporated into the story feels underwhelming and disappointing. It would not be an exaggeration to say that this is a classic example of how women should not be written by men.

Overall, the story didn't work for me and I felt that though the themes are very much relevant, they were mishandled in the story. It was ⭐⭐/5 for me.

REMEMBER ME AS YOURS - NOVONEEL CHAKRABORTY

4⭐

PLOT
Nityami wants to find her Mr. Right who would love her unconditionally but every time she meets someone she is left heartbroken. When she comes to know that her first love from school is somewhere in Sikkim she with renewed hope embarks on a road trip Sikkim.
Falak is a survivor and fighter in spite of enduring her father's abuse she sets up her food delivery service and pursues her MBA but she ends up doing something drastic making her run for her life and she too ends up in Sikkim.
A chance encounter find Nityami and Falak share a cab to the same destination where the person who meets them there will change their lives once again.

MY THOUGHTS -
Novoneel Chakraborty's books are my go to books as apart from being bingeable they are written precisely and are very relatable. The themes of love, loss along with renewed hope and determination portrayed from both Falak and Nityami POV has been explored well. The flawed action taken by the girls justify these themes. The character development of both of them has been beautifully crafted esp in the first two parts. The third part and the climax could have been a bit more elaborated to give it the desired satisfaction.
True to his style there are twists which compel one to continue reading.
A perfect book to be read on a rainy afternoon.

Remember Me As Yours by Novoneel Chakraborty
Genre - Romantic Comedy / Coming of Age Novel
Rating - 5/5

Have you read Novoneel Chakraborty's new book Remember Me As Yours ?It is an absolute page turner. Perfect as light yet depth full read. A witty banter that is curated with two brilliantly crafted characters, Nityami and Falak, two girls from different backdrop stories but they are similar in their vulnerabilities and their courage. If you like strong bold women characters laced with fun, Sikkim travel, friendship vibe, layers that unlock with plot twist and something poignant, a faint heartache that won't leave you easily, then it's possible you will like the book.

Trust me, when you finish this book you would want to make these two girls your friends. It's a story about two different girls who hold the same dreams and desires. They came from very different families yet they are similar when they arise from their own ashes. They are very soft hearted but circumstances make their souls like steel. They are strong yet so soft in core, they were crushed brutally and still they have the willingness to rise from the ashes like finix. They meet on the same travel journey but they don't know they are going to meet the same friend from their school and a lot of things yet to unfold.

I am kinda in love with this open ending, the tension draining me still I can't stop thinking about it, I loved this ending twist, a coming of age story that is freshly brewed with jaw-dropping plot twist, absolutely loved it. It was unexpectedly amazing.

The book talks about friendship, relationships, loneliness, jealousy, strength in different aspects of life through both the female characters. There is no one main character. The book starts with Nityami in part 1, Sultana in part 2 and then both of them with Vedant in part 3. The blurb had me interested in the book instantly and I was eager to uncover the relationship of the title with the story. The writing style felt like a friend was talking to me and giving me some gossip. The book is a quick read. As the story unfolded it went through many downs than ups for me. Time and again I wanted to shake Nityami and ask what are you doing. I liked Sultana's part better written. The story was mostly predictable for me and I wish there were more surprising elements to keep a reader hooked.

The story felt flat at places making me drop the book multiple times. The sub-themes introduced in the book are well thought and could have been persuaded more to make it all more interesting and indulging. The cover art as well as the title of the book do not match with anything talked about in the book. I have loved reading many other books by Novoneel and loved them but this one didn't work for me.

Ask anyone who knows me, will tell you that I am a big fan of novoneel sir. Having read all his books, had to read this because this is the first time he has written a romcom.

And without a doubt it's exceptionally well written. Love the way the girls character unfold in the story line. Nityami and Falak - both strong and independent with different backgrounds ,yet so much in common that you will fall in love with both of them.

There are many many conversations which we come across during the read that touches you in many ways and makes you think. Was totally touched with the innocence the characters had in them. The love they had. Life only gets complicated only if we want to make it. This book is a roller coaster of emotions, filled with fun, Masti, suspense, drama and a lot of excitement .

The ending of the book leaves you with so many questions so assuming a second part might come. Hope it does. Thank you so much my favourite author for writing such beautiful stories and touching my heart. If you want something to read for your weekend, choose this book and you won't regret .

Remember Me As Yours by Novoneel Chakraborty, is a coming-of-age novel about two girls whose destiny meets at a very different place and time from their normal lives. It also completely changes and compels them to make some crucial decisions that would change their lives completely.

This is a story primarily of three people - Nityami Thakur, Falak Sultana, and Vedant Kaushal. Set during the past timeline and the lives of these two girls, we see the present when they meet Vedant at a very unexpected place and some truths that will shape their future.

I finished this book in a single sitting because of the author's smooth, catchy writing style and also the anticipation of how Nityami and Falak's story pans out in the end. It is great to see a refreshing new take from the author's previous works.

First of all, it's being marketed as a fun romcom novel when it's far from that. It's more of a romance thriller.

This book is about two very different girls, coming from different backgrounds (one has a job, home, ready to settle down, and a hopeless romantic, while the other is struggling to make her ends meet, and coming from an abusive household) who have a crush on the same person. Both these girls end up on a road trip to find the same guy who has almost disappeared from the face of the world. It was fun and tragic reading about these girls' backgrounds and I was totally not prepared for what was to come along in the plot.

Sometimes the book did not make much sense and tried to be philosophical, and sometimes I was simply aghast at what was happening. Still a fun book.

Novoneel has been one of my favorites for a really long time but something about this book just didn't hit. It wasn't necessarily a bad book but maybe it's my preconceived notion on how his writing is that probably made me not enjoy this one. It literally felt like I was reading a different author.

It still did have his touch and I will still keep reading his book. So, this book was an experience.

The books full name went Remember Me As Yours : They went looking for love they found life. The book delivers just as that. Novoneel has a way of writing dark novels which are much closer to reality and the more you read his books the more you start to like that about his writing. It’s raw, it’s hard hitting, it’s shockingly realistic. Same is the case with this novel. It’s also a good travel book somewhere. A good lite read.

Let me introduce you to two firecracker girls, Nityami and Falak, coming from two diagonally opposite backgrounds.
Nityami, is a banker by profession and a hopeless romantic by choice, and our second FMC, Falak, a true Delhite, is juggling between MBA and food delivery service. They meet in a cab heading for the same destination. What sounds like a normal ride turns out to be a rollercoaster of emotions and revelations.💫

First of all, if the title and cover suggests you that this is going to be some lovey-dovey plot or a rom-com, then snap out of that thought asap.In 200 something pages, the author has touched issues ranging from uncaring parents to creepy exes..from sexual abuse to revenge, from heartbreak to hope and showed how with courage and perseverance anything is possible.✨

I love how the author has penned down such relatable characters that you can't help but start rooting for their successes and get connected with their problems.
I bonded with Nityami, like she's my bff. Her story reminded me of my pink-tinted memories..that feeling of first crush, imagining silly little things, passing notes..(are you smiling? because I did too!🤭). From being a people pleaser to rule breaker..she showed a commendable growth.🫡

Now, let's talk about Falak, she is a baddie in burqa! No one cares about her existence or her dreams, but she does and she fights for it Every.Single.Day. She’s bold, flawed, and unforgettable. And in no time, you'll find yourself cheering for her.🔥

Chakraborty is my go-to author, so i picked up this book without giving it a second thought. But, I felt, it lacked that charm, which his other books has. And so, 4 stars out of 5 ⭐

If you want to read something out of your usual liking, you can pick this up and meet Nityami and Falak. You won't be disappointed.🧡

Remember Me As Yours by Novoneel Chakraborty is a coming of age novel about a story of two girls with very different lives and struggles but they have only one thing in common. They both loved the same guy in high school and find themselves companions in the journey of finding him.

The plot of this story is unique and it moves in a very fast pace so I was kept hooked. It was really emotional to read about the life of both the girls especially Falak. She lived with her father and brother who never cared for her. She was in a toxic relationship with a man who abused her. She had to bear that because she wanted to study. Nityami on the other hand had a loving family but her luck in love was not in her favour making her doubt herself.

What I didn't understand was why this book was called a romcom because it definitely wasn't one. It was more like a story on life and different aspect of love. I also felt that the ending wasn't as impactful given how the story began. It will be a good one time read for all.

A coming-of-age story about two girls, Nityami and Falak, told in third person.

🔸 **Nityami**: From Bhopal, struggles with finding unconditional love. Her journey to meet her school crush in Sikkim is filled with relatable frustrations and hope.

🔸 **Falak**: From Delhi, a fighter from a broken home. Her rebellious nature and depth in the narrative reminded me of Alia Bhatt's role in *Darlings*. Loved her story more.

Fast-paced, clear writing made this 220-page book a quick read. Finished in less than 24 hours! The ending felt a bit rushed and unresolved, though.

Regarding the book cover, the illustration does not relate to the book at all. It represents nothing and just acts as a pretty illustration. A cover with the faces of two girls split in half would have been a better choice.
