This book is really two kinds of book, it is a collection of of short stories set in phase 1 of the High Republic and a collection of interviews and backgrounds of the five authors and story architects that created the High republic. For the short stories: yes there are appearances by larger characters in the HR landscape but mostly these focus on smaller characters and fill out their stories. All but one of the stories collected here focus on the security team on Starlight Beacon, the other on a husband and wife team tinkerers. I really loved all of these stories and reading them alone is enough. For the other part of the book, if you want background into how this whole High Republic thing came to be there is some really interesting info here as well as some background on three of the authors. The standout section of this for me was the Claudia Gray section. First off probably my favorite SW author but also what she has to say is just so danged insightful. If you are a HR fan this collection is a MUST.
