I've read 2 books in a row that I've given 3 stars to. Anything under 4 stars is pretty uncommon for me so maybe it's just me lately
This book honestly pissed me off. I kept pushing thinking that it'd get better and then I was just waiting for it to be over.
Molly, the FMC, felt so cringey and awkward. Like I got second hand embarrassment from reading a few of these scenes. She was so wishy washy on love too. "I love them" one minute and then "Love doesn't exist" the next.
Emmett & Preston were okay but we never really got to know them well. We got a hint of Emmett's backstory but not of Prestons which was odd bc Preston & Molly have been close friends since childhood. The plot was overwhelmingly about Molly. 32 chapters including the epilogue with 4 chapters being in Prestons POV & 3 being in Emmett's. The way that Emmett came in was slightly odd.
Another thing that I didn't like was Preston & Emmett's relationship. It felt very rushed and forced. In ch 23 something happens between them but it was because Molly requested it to happen (which ???). Their relationship didn't really move forward until the last 5ish percent of the book. Once again this book was just the Molly show basically
Lucas, Molly's brother & Preston's bestie, has a girlfriend Rebecca. That was a weird relationship & it felt like as a reader I was missing part of the story. It sort of does get explained but idk it felt odd
