Legacy is forever. Love is eternal. Being in the place with the one is magical.

This is a love story that crawls inside your heart to remind you continuously of how important you are to your family, your friends, and most of all your partner.

The links of time and place are connected with the stories you have lived with others. Some are so imbedded in us that they are always lurking in the back of our minds to keep us sane at least about the truly important things in life.

Sharing your thoughts and prayers is the only real way to share your love and yourself with that special one who makes it all worthwhile to be together in your special place.

Have a box of Kleenex or two ready.

Daniel, you did it again! Reading this story brings you back to a better time. I have to admit, the last chapter did it for me. Thank you again for a heart touching story.

'Keokee' written by Daniel Elijah Sanderfer
(Audible) narrated by Ryan Haugen

Beautifully written, sweet and also sad, two intertwined tales woven around two budding romances.
These storylines converge in somewhat unexpected ways. Both take place in Virginia.

One features Spencer, an elderly man dealing with
Alzheimers, remembering his younger days with his best friend and lost love, Alan, and those long lazy days of fishing at Lake Keokee.

The second storyline is about Spencer's male nurse, Luke, and Luke's potential new love interest with the Forest Ranger, Shelton, who oversees that wilderness area including the lake, Keokee.

There's such a beautiful haunting quality to this tale that I could almost feel myself getting lost in those surroundings. Hear Spencer's mom calling the boys in for supper as the sunlight fades into hazy twilight.

Yeah, young boys in love is kinda Sanderfer's go-to trope, but he writes that so well that I find myself enjoying his books, even the sad bits.

I haven't checked yet, but I'm hoping there are/will be more books about Luke and Shelton and the folks around Keokee.

Oh, almost forgot to mention what a wonderful job the narrator, Ryan Haugen did with all the characters!

Two thumbs up! 👍👍

I loved this book. The array of characters and emotions was incredibly written and powerful. Alzheimer’s has affected so many and this book brings some beauty to a terrible disease.
