Gold Horizons is a brand new standalone in the Horizons Valley series. When they say to keep your friends close, but your enemies closer, I don’t think they meant that literally, as in next door neighbor close. However, here we are, and after our horrible and unfortunate introduction, there’s only one solution . . . we’ve declared war. It’s his side of the mountain versus mine, and no one, and I do mean no one, is going to ruin this next adventure for me.
If you love small-town romance, next door neighbors, enemies to lovers, and opposites attract, then you're going to love Briggs and Cora's story. Preorder today and stay tuned for cover and blurb reveal!

A note from the author...
Over ten years ago my husband and I were driving from Chicago to Tampa and somewhere in Kentucky I remember seeing a billboard that was all black with five white words, “I do, therefore I am!” I’m certain that it was a Nike ad, but for me I found this to be completely profound.
Take running for example. Most will say that a runner is someone who runs five days a week and runs under a ten minute mile pace. Well, I can tell you that I never run five days a week and on my best days my pace is an eleven minute mile. I have run quite a few half marathons and one full marathon. No matter what anyone says, I am a runner. I do, therefore I am.
I’ve taken this same thought and applied it to so many areas of my life: cooking, gardening, quilting, and yes…writing.
I may not be culinary trained, but I love to cook and my family and friends loves to eat my food. I cook, therefore I am a chef!
My thumb is not black. I love to grow herbs, tomatoes, roses, and lavender. I garden, therefore I am a gardener!
I love beautiful fabrics and I can follow a pattern. My triangles may not line up perfectly…but who cares, my quilts are still beautiful when they are finished. I quilt, therefore I am a quilter.
I have been writing my entire life. It is my husband who finally said, “Who cares if people like your books or not? If you enjoy writing them and you love your stories…then write them.” He has always been my biggest fan and he was right. Being a writer has always been my dream and what I said I wanted to be when I grew up.
So, I’ve told you who I am and what I love to do…now I’m going to tell you the why.
I have two boys that are three years a part. My husband and I want to instill in them adventure, courage, and passion. We don’t expect them to be perfect at things, we just want them to try and do. It’s not about winning the race, it’s about showing up in the first place. We don’t want them to be discouraged by society stereotypes, we want them to embrace who they are and what they love. After all, we only get one life.
In the end, they won’t care how many books I actually sell…all that matters to them is that I said I was going to do it, I did it, and I have loved every minute of it.
Find something that you love and tell yourself, “I do, therefore I am.”
Kathryn Andrews truly outdid herself with Gold Horizons, and I absolutely LOVED Briggs and Cora’s story!
The storyline and characters, the humor and banter and pranks, the sexy and intimate scenes and emotional moments, the ending and epilogue—everything was perfection, and I adored it with all my heart. I loved every single moment of Briggs and Cora’s journey to happily ever after, but the epilogue was my favorite part (you’ll see why).
Kathryn Andrews’s books always bring me joy and put a smile on my face, and while I’m sad the Horizons Valley series is finished, I can’t wait to see what she has in store next. Absolutely chef’s kiss all around!
This book was so freeing to read and fun. The banter mixed with the prank wars between these two neighbors was too great it’s giving me a little devil on my shoulder to play this game with my husband❤️🔥 Favorite Prank was the glitter bomb🤣 though the cricket chipper was also high because it was the one that lasted the longest. But the whole scene of and after the glitter bomb just left a huge smile on my face. Speaking as someone who feels like the black sheep of the family, I knew there was more to Cora that I loved and knew long ago she was my favorite. Our dating lives were a lot different but our mindsets were pretty neck and neck. Don’t get me started on Briggs because I don’t think there’s enough letter count on here for me to write a novella on ho I find him utterly dreamy.🫠 I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE cider donuts. They are my husbands weekness too🍩.
Overall this book was just so alluring and I’m not just saying this because Kathryn’s my good friend and confidant. I truly mean it. Every book of hers has such fluid writting that is so captivating.
Now, I did not expect that from Cora. Her personality did not say that she was being treated like that by her family. Winston, the nerve of that MF.... I have so many words for him but will not focus on the negative.
Let's get to the funness that was Briggs and Cora. Pranks were hilarious, and I laughed so hard. Poor Cole was nervous from a distance. Tickled me pink. I believe that was what brought them together. Cora was the fresh air Briggs needed. It drew him in along with her playing the cello. They were two peas in the same pod. First impressions and even second ones be darn.
I loved how they were there for one another, and when he saved her, everyone reading would swoon. Like OMG, it was symbolic in so many ways.
I could go on and on, but I don't want to give anything away because it will ruin the experience of love and family. Another deep-rooted book by Kathryn. I enjoy myself every time.
I simply loved this story! I swear, each book Kathryn Andrews writes tugs at my heart more and more. I found myself smiling and laughing time and time again while reading. These characters are some of my absolute favorite and I'm so glad we get more of them. Sexy, sweet, and so perfect. Kathryn, you've done it again!
Kathryn did it again. Wrote a beautiful story with characters that kept me up late at night just so I could read one more chapter.
The wittiness of this story I think was one of my favorite things about it, especially when it came to their interactions. Gosh those were fun to read.
Gold Horizons by Kathryn Andrews is one of my favorite romance reads this year! This book had it all…and boy was I smitten with everything I got in this book. In every way possible.
Enemies to lovers? Check. Grumpy sunshine romance? Check. The most fantastic prank war between two neighbors? Check. Small town romance goodness with a city girl and a mountain man guy? Check, Check. Two amazing and incredible characters that will completely steal and melt your heart? Check, Check, Check!
Gold Horizons is the story of two seemingly opposite people going from enemies to friends to lovers to something so much more as they realize that the one person who drives them utterly crazy, might just be the one person they’ve always needed.
This is a story of two people connecting on such a real and honest level that will touch every part of their hearts and yours. It’s a story of two people seeing each other, and I mean really seeing each other, in the most raw and true way. This is a story of two dynamic characters peeling back each other’s layers to discover their vulnerabilities, and not only loving what they find, but basking in what they give one another. This is a story of two people pushing every button the other one has and loving every memorable, effervescent, and vibrant moment of it. This is a story of two people falling for one another in the most real, heartfelt, and true way that will melt and own your heart from start to finish.
Suffice to say, I loved everything about Gold Horizons and what I got with Cora and Briggs.
Those two are truly the best. And trust me when I say that those two are something very special. From the very first words of their story, I was hooked. I was hooked on them, their fiery and vibrant connection, and everything they made each other feel. I was also exponentially hooked on the way those two managed to push every button they both had, the glorious banter they shared, all while simultaneously driving each other crazy and breaking down every wall they had carefully constructed around themselves in the best way. Simply put, I was hooked on them and everything they shared.
These two have the most memorable first meeting, and the sparks just keep flying from there with every turn of the page in this incredible book. Kathryn Andrews carefully and thoughtfully crafts their story in a way that allows you to connect with them, allows you to feel and live and experience it all with them, and in a way that just sears you to them in a way that you will be rooting for them both through it all. There is just something truly special about Brooks, Cora, and what they share together and make each other feel. It feels right. It feels beautiful. It feels like exactly what both of them need. It feels like more…and that more with them is everything.
What I loved about Gold Horizons, and what I love about every book by Kathryn Andrews, is that she just allows you to connect so deeply and truly to Brooks and Cora and every character she creates. She just lets you see them, get them, and understand them in every way. She makes you believe in them and want every good thing for them. She invests you in them and all that could be. She allows you through her writing to connect to them in such a real and genuine way, and that makes reading their story everything to experience. It just makes everything more memorable, more beautiful, and just more enjoyable because you’re not just reading the book and seeing the characters end up where they do, you’re living the story with them and feeling every bit of their journey to one another…and it’s just the best.
Cora Rhodes is a gem of a character. She is fierce. She is independent. She is remarkable in so many ways. She has a heart of gold and is looking for her happy place where she can truly be herself. She is a woman who is beautiful inside and out in every way. What I loved about her character was that she was just so genuinely good. I also just loved that she was easy to relate to because like many of us, she too was just trying to find her place in the world and make sense of a very complicated relationship with her family and life. She might be a well known musician, she may come from very wealthy society, but at the end of the day she is a very real person just trying to figure out who she really is, who she wants to be, and who is deserving of being in her life and her heart. I just loved her, fiercely, unequivocally, and in every way possible. She is truly the best, and getting to connect with her over the course of the story was absolutely phenomenal.
Now Briggs Warren might have stolen my heart from the very first moment his grumpy self made a seriously memorable appearance on the pages of Gold Horizons. That man is the definition of a grumpy mountain man who has a lot of layers and a whole lot of love to give under his somewhat gruff exterior. He is determined and very very stubborn. He is also a genuinely good guy who would do anything for those he cares about and his small town that he calls home. That man may come off grumpy and a touch (aka a lot!) hard headed, but he is also fierce in his feelings and cares with his whole heart. What I loved about Briggs is that he was so dynamic and headstrong, but underneath those layers he was also so vulnerable and had experienced his own struggles. I loved getting the chance to peel back each layer, along with Cora, while reading this story. I also just loved getting to love him. That man is wonderful and I can totally understand why Cora wants to simultaneously slap him silly and climb him like a tree.
Trust me when I say that you will love Cora and Briggs and everything they so unforgettably give you in Gold Horizons.
Those two definitely make each other, and you, work for it, but in the absolute best way. They exemplify the idea that the one who drives you the most crazy, might just be the exact person you need to heal your heart and give you everything you didn’t think was possible. Those two work hard in this book and in their journey together to trust each other and themselves, to put the past officially in the past and break away from the expectations that try to hold them down, and to find a way to open their hearts to the possibilities of what could be. They do all of this and more while sweeping you and your heart off your feet, as they push each other’s buttons, as they feel their fierce and fiery connection to one another, and as they fall oh so hard for each other. Gold Horizons is truly one of the best romances I have read this year. It has it all and more. It was romantic. It was funny. It was fiery and full of so much connection. It was memorable and consuming. It was small town romance goodness with such dynamic and memorable characters. It was just a story that I could not put down, that I loved every single word of, and that I just loved reading and experiencing.
This book was everything and more, and Kathryn Andrews once again blew me away with what she delivered with these characters and their story.
Her writing is absolutely incredible and allows you to just fully live this story with Cora and Briggs. That writing is what has made me a fan of hers since her very first book released 10 years ago. She just has such a way with words, a way of allowing you to be in the moments she creates with her characters, and a way of enveloping you within the magic and beauty of what her characters are and what they share. Reading her words and experiencing what she so thoughtfully and beautifully weaves together in her books is something I truly look forward to and treasure. There is just something so special and memorable about what she creates and allows you to get with her stories and characters, and Gold Horizons was no different. In fact, I think this book is Kathryn Andrews at her best. This book and what she creates within it with Cora and Briggs is vibrant, effervescent, romantic, memorable, and just absolutely enjoyable in every way.
I truly could not have asked for more than what I got within this book and with Cora and Briggs.
Kathryn Andrews creates and delivers everything with the two of them in the most authentic and amazing way that I and my heart will not soon forget. She thoughtfully weaves together a story of enemies, friends, a very special mountain location, pranks, love, and all the possibilities that can come from taking a chance with the one person who drives you just a bit, or a lot, crazy. She does all of that and more in this phenomenal book. She leaves all the heart and emotion on the pages of this book with these characters, and I truly could not have asked for a better conclusion to my time in Horizons Valley. This place and the people who live and fall in love there are truly something special, and you will feel that in this book, and in every other book of this series.
Trust me.
This book, this entire series, and all of these very special characters will own your heart from the very first moment you meet them, and you will love every bit of what you get with them. You journey with them, you feel and live it all with them, you root for them with your whole heart, you believe in them, and in the end, I promise you will not be disappointed with what they so beautifully give you. Not one little bit.
Trust me when I say that this whole series, but especially this book and Cora and Briggs, will give you it all. Those two will have you believing in the magic, possibilities, and beauty of taking a chance on the one person you didn’t even know you needed and the one person who makes you feel everything. And getting that with them along with everything else in their incredible story? Well that is truly the best in every way possible.
Another page turner from one of my favorite authors.. I ate this book up in two days! What an amazing end to the trilogy.. I want more.. nice job Mrs Andrews! Looking forward to the next series!
Absolutely loved the ending of the trio! The Horizon series have been wonderful to read and to finally get Cora’s story was perfect!
Cora Rhodes seems to have it all! Beauty, musical talent, great friends but the emotional abuse her family has given her since she was young forces her to keep people and relationships at arms length! Cora loves to be alone, writing music, and taking care of plants! Instead of the crazy cat lady just call her the crazy plant lady!
After her best friends move to North Carolina mountains Cora realizes she too needs a mountain home and decides to move in the area with them. She wanted space and grounds to allow her to plant and have privacy. What she did not expect was to be outside her quiet little getaway and get scared by some raccoons and to have her smoking hot neighbor appear with a gun ready to take on something! He is not as friendly as he could be and definitely didn’t expect to see his new neighbor in her underwear with a small robe but that was all it took for the War of Neighbors to begin!
Briggs and Cora are not much different but those similarities is what may drive a wedge between them!

Loved this series. I think this book was the best of the series. Briggs and Cora and their banter will have you laughing as well as melting your heart. Loved the enemies to lovers and strong characters Kathryn wrote.
With two of the group finding love and homes in Horizons Valley, Cora finds herself finding her place there as well. After moving into her new home, the fund and games begin between her and her closest neighbour, Briggs. Their family histories are not so different, each feeling they need to conform and perform on command. Their surrounding help them find friendship and a sense of belonging to the town and the area. This is an author that I thoroughly enjoy reading her works and always feel comforted at the end.
Really enjoyed Cora and Briggs story. Both of them had bad experiences with their families wanting to run their life's and great to see they both are able to stand up for themselves. Loved the practical jokes between Cora and Briggs and was so pleased the book ended with a HEA.
💛💛💛💛💛 5 golden hearts for Cora and Briggs! My favorite couple in the series. #GoldHorizon #TakeMeToTheMountain #Frenemy #LoveAtFirstSight #Neighbors #Avery&Emma&Cora #Family #Love #Music
Briggs and Cora loved the first time they meet it was giving me neighbors to lovers and also enemies to lovers vibes. Loved it from start to finish it had everything.
Two rich people doing their best to shed their family ties and forge their own paths. She’s a successful musician whose family demeans her. He’s taken running an apple orchard and cider business which his family thinks is beneath him. They’re the only neighbors on a mountain top. Their first meeting is not conducive to creating warm feelings. It’s a story of a slowly evolving opinions of what the other person is like and coming to support each other through difficult decisions. A great read.
