way too much OW drama for me. Hero still not over ex, even after meeting & being attracted to heroine.

"Not all that long ago, I’d been picking out rings for Whitney. I thought perhaps marriage and spending a life content with her was in the cards for me. It was something I’d been looking forward to and excited about. But boy, had I been wrong about how that was going to turn out."

“Married? Oh hell no...”. “I just got out of a long-term relationship. We’d been together for almost a decade, and --”
“Jesus,” I said. “I thought I’d wasted a long time on Jeremy. What happened?”
He flinched. “I’d rather not talk about it, if that’s okay?”

My gaze fell on one from Whitney, and my heart stopped for a moment. My chest lurching as hard as my stomach just seeing her name in my inbox.

I hung up with my mom and debated looking at the e-mail from Whitney. We still kept in touch somewhat. Probably more than we should have, all things considered. She was still my friend, for better or worse – it was hard to drop an entire lifetime of friendship -- and I wanted to help her. Problem was, I wasn’t sure she wanted to help herself.

The e-mail from Whitney was still waiting for me when I woke up the next morning. I considered not opening it. I even thought about deleting it unread. But in the end, I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t just turn my back on her completely -- and mentally kicked my own ass for it.

But they had to fly back to real life for a dose of Colin’s ex from hell and poor Hope wondering how she is going to support twins on a writers salary. thank goodness Dr Pierce comes to the rescue with his magic wand, fini🪄👨‍⚕️🩺💋

Quite pleasant and short read with likeable heroine.

What a girl can do when she has to spend a romantic week in Paris and she just broke up with her cheating boyfriend? Yes, find a new companion is the answer. A sexy doctor Colin comes to the rescue but Hope leaves the city of Lights not only with the adventure but also unexpected surprise.

If you're looking for a total cliche of a read (which I did) this is your book. I quite liked it even though the attraction between hero and heroine wasn't visible from the first moment. They're both treated each other like and adventure and not possible future making this story a little bit hmm... Not tasty.

Anyway great read for one evening!

So for a book about a woman pregnant with a fling's kids, you would not think you would get halfway through the book before they have sex, and then 70% before she's pregnant. And the build up to it, where they're "getting to know one another" is super boring. Mainly bc they aren't getting to know each other, they're doing things. Seriously. It's a book of all the moments most authors gloss over to get to the actual plot.

It's a little funny that the character is supposed to be a travel writer, and you're reading about them exploring Paris it is boring as shit. Skim it. Skim it all. It's not cute. It's not funny. There's not amazing chemistry that makes you want to read it.

It takes sooo long to get to point where you thought the book would start, and then once you're finally there... It's like spending hours in a waiting room, where the tv is stuck on infomercials with the volume turned up too high.

The blurb while technically accurate does not describe the book well, and the writing is not good enough to make up for it.

Such a good book. Two people in the city of love, they are there for different reasons yet they find each other, companionship, no strings attached, and only a week to share before they go back to reality. Hope was there for a writing assignment, and Colin was there to speak at a conference. But when you’re meant to be together there is nothing that’s going to stop it. Collin hast to go back early and confronted with his nightmare. Hope decides to leave early with nothing keeping her there. But she hadn’t planned on was bringing back two special souvenirs, and ending up in the same city as Collin. What a wonderful love story, so romantic. But every love story has some angst in the background. It has a wonderful happily ever after.

A few a days ago I was Talking to my bestie About Reviews … well I haven´t felt like writing one in a Long time, but here I go.

First of all the book was ok. Nothing to be overly affectionate About, but ok. But and there is a BIG FAT BUT!
Please let an Editor work on your writing. There were so many mistakes I cringed each time I read it.
Wrong words so the sentence didn´t make any sense and I had to read twice or three times.
And please decide on one Thing: Are Colin and Hope having a child or Children as in Twins. In one Paragraph he was going on About his babies, then her Baby and so on and on.

Consider editing.

The first 50% of this was actually so good, so wholesome and steamy, the mcs time in Paris was the best part of this, then the moment the fmc went back home and discovered that she was pregnant, it went downhill, for me. It wasn't because of the pregnancy as much as it was because of the progression of events from that point onwards.


The way it was so rushed and too convenient, I wanted a little bit more angst before the actual get together but things felt unresolved on Colin's end when it came to Whitney and the explanation to Hope of why he was actually paying her money.

This book had potential but was extremely rushed. I know this author writes fun stories, and I wasn't expecting a lot of depth. However, this wasn't her best. There could have been a lot more going on with the pregnancy and the tension betweeen the main characters. There were a lot of missed opportunities there. It still was fun, but it definitely wasn't my favorite from this author.

Doctor Daddy, Book 1 of the Silver Fox Daddies series, was about Dr. Colin Pierce, and Hope Camden, a travel column journalist.
Side Note: The prologue of this story wasn't really a prologue. It was an exert taken from an early chapter and just pasted in as a "prologue" for some odd reason because the entire thing was repeated in that other chapter.
Colin and Hope met in Paris while Hope was writing a story about the romance of the city for couples, and Colin was attending a medical conference. Both had recently ended a long-term relationship with their significant others, and neither was ready for anything serious. So they agreed to a holiday fling, but it was cut short by a medical emergency that called Colin back home. Although they had exchanged first names, they didn't give out their last names or anything regarding their living situations. The only thing they did know was that each was from the USA.
After returning home from vacation, Hope learned that she was pregnant...with twins. Having been a Type-1 diabetic from childhood, her OBGYN referred her to a specialist that dealt with high-risk pregnancies...and that doctor just happened to be Colin. However, Hope panicked upon seeing him and lied. She said the baby wasn't his but the father was her ex with whom she had reunited after returning from vacation. However, Colin didn't quite believe her and did a little sleuthing and found out the truth.
Colin wasn't an alpha hero. He was too laid back, letting other people push him around, and just not your typical main male character. He was definitely more of a beta hero, but that wasn't a bad thing. There was just a lack of feelings emanating from him.
Long story short, Colin and Hope moved in together, but Hope learned some things about Colin's ex that didn't sit well with her. Even though her pregnancy hormones had her ranting, raving, and crying hysterics, she didn't hide her fear from him when he returned home. Except, before he could answer her questions, she went into premature labor.
The book had a lot of angst and drama and all the other emotions that go along with a pregnancy, but it had only a small amount of jealousy, distrust, and miscommunication. Both main characters were mature, responsible adults and were able to handle most situations better than most characters in such fictional situations. But at the same time, the whole thing was a bit convoluted too. There was very little push/pull between the two main characters, the two exes were seriously underwhelming and unbelievable, and the entire story went at warp speed, with very little to hold the interest of the reader. Even the spicy scenes weren't all that spicy.
For all intents and purposes, it was a decent story, so I will give it a 3.5-star rating, rounded up to four stars.

When Love Makes a House Call

And, two months ago, when Hope had pitched an idea of a romantic couples’ trip to Paris to her editor, she had described, planned and anticipated that the trip to Paris would be filled with sensual experiences and love filled pleasure as she and her boyfriend experienced the City of Love.

But now, as a single traveler, Hope is in despair—her relationship is history and her job in peril if she can’t deliver on the romantic travel experience that she had pitched. Even window wandering along the Paris boulevards is depressing until she is jostled by a striking, dark-haired man who with disgust unexpectedly turns aggressively away from a window display of diamonds as if the sparkling stones were about to attack him. For Dr. Colin Pierce, an OB/GYN in his 40’s who specialized in high-risk pregnancies and gestational diabetes, diamonds remind him of the grasping women who see him as a walking bank account. But, when the two unattached and love bruised Americans in Paris talk and share dinner, they begin to find themselves sharing bits of their personal lives.

And when she explains her own doomed visit to Paris, he offers to help her build her list of romantic Parisian experiences. What neither anticipate and can’t refuse is each other’s company for the next few days. But, both keep secrets that are essential about who they really are and even their home locations. And, when 6 weeks later, Hope realizes that she has returned home with a memory conceived in Paris but which will be born in LA. And the young single mom-to-be as a diabetic anticipates a challenging pregnancy but has no way to reconnect with her future child’s dad with the news of his impending fatherhood.

KC Crowne allows the reader to feel the relationship tension of the characters on many different levels as they struggle to follow their hearts, but must also wrangle with the challenges of life. I do enjoy the stories of KC Crowne, but am generally frustrated by the poor grammar and lack of skilled proofreading. This romance needs a little more polishing to really shine.

It had potential but didn't deliver. Too much drama from the ex-girlfriend. Then you simply don't lie to a gynecologist/ob if you are having his baby and get away with it. He would be the first to take out the calender, see the due date and go back. Actually, doctor or not, the father has a right to know. I find it hard to justify a lie.
The heroine barely manages to get by already, how would she support a child? The blogger job she wouldn't be able to keep.

I wanted to like it but especially the h made it impossible.

This was a fun book about two people, Colin and Hope, that meet while on vacation in Paris. She’s a travel writer that is supposed to be writing about romance in Paris, but she suddenly finds herself single. Colin agrees to help her experience the romance of Paris before they each head back to their lives. An unexpected twist in their story is that she ends up pregnant, and they live in the same city back in the US.

Colin and Hope share a wild few days in Paris after they are both cheated on by their exs. Now he is Doctor in charge of Hope’s delivery. Will he find out the twins she is having are his and will they find a way to move forward together as a family? Fast-paced read with loads of drama and steam. I liked it.

Why would you rate this book 4 or 5 stars with all the errors? The story line started off ok but then it lost its steam. All of a sudden the book went to the ending and there was so much that could have been written to make it so much better. The writing was awful. Please get someone to proof before saying it's complete.

Not really much substance to this one, but if you’re looking for an easy read it’s pleasant enough. I usually give easy reads three stars but this one was a little lacking, as things were heavily glossed over. I also personally thought the reason Colin knew he loved Hope was disgusting. I certainly wouldn’t be impressed if I were her. Disappointed.

NOTE: Now I see another title Big Bad Daddy with basically same plot, even same MMC name -- does this author just change title and re-publish same book? Or is one version more updated, better edited with new title? Feels very messy.

This was an odd book. Checks all my favorite tropes, especially surprise pregnancy. But prologue was weird because it didn't share anything from either character's past, but word for word was what was happening 40% into book. So I was confused thinking it was in the past, but it was really just a clip of the book when they (finally) banged each other.

Colin got strangely almost Christian Grey like in tone and tenor when they first had sex (in prologue as teaser and then 40% in), but then the rest of the time in and out of bed he wasn't bossy like that at all. Was author just trying that out because readers like it? Then she needed to carry it through.

Paris part was s o s l o w. Then back in LA, sped up, and then once they reconnected it was so rushed it was disappointing. Not even a moment of them together figuring things out (A Few Months Later), and boom another conflict, boom delivery, boom married, boom over. Wrapped up conflict with Whitney in one sentence, didn't wrap up concerns about either Colin or Hope's parents, felt ripped off honestly.

Was this book edited? Minor typos and not consistently referring to twins as babies vs baby (or father of is child instead of children) was distracting. Maybe early version was single baby story and didn't get updated when someone decided to make it high risk twin situation?

I finished it though! Wonder if books later in series are more well developed and edited? Because this author has my favorite tropes.

Hope's name doesn't suit her personality, physical description,or attitude.

Pure and simple fact of the matter, in my opinion, is that she turned me off to the story, and also had me feeling sorry for Colin, who was such a perfect, gorgeous, wonderful example of male perfection. She was prudish, overly eager to exert her independence when she was such a failure at demonstrating any, especially in the parts of her life that ought to have exhibited more discipline, order, and accomplishment than she actually had. Hope didn't even possess the minimum of proper table manners (moaning uncontrollably in a restaurant or in public, wiping her fingers on herself after eating/taking a bite of her food rather than seeking a napkin are examples of poor self control and a lack of etiquette), and arguing that as a paying customer she should be allowed to eat however she liked doesn't even hold up as she didn't pay - Colin did, and he even cringed whenever he saw her faux pas.

There was so much potential in the plotline, but I believe the way Hope was portrayed was too off-setting and detracted from Colin, who was so perfect and real. I think the writer was shooting for unaffected and unspoiled with Hope, but she came across as judgmental, crass, and undeserving. I disliked her immensely, to my chagrin. I wanted to like her, then she'd argue or say something ridiculous that contrasted with and contradicted what Colin needed from her. It was pathetic. One point two stars.

I understand that morals and ethics in romance fantasy worlds don't need to be the same as they are in the real world, but there are some places where the protagonist of this story comes off as a total douche in ways that really aren't needed to move the story forward. I don't consider these spoilers because they happen right at the beginning of the story, but stop reading here if you don't want to know anything that happens even in the beginning of the story. The protagonist, Colin, as a prominent doctor who admits that he has often had sex with young medical students who want to sleep with him in exchange for career recommendations. He stops doing this because he feels kind of bad that some undeserving people have ended up in good jobs on his recommendation. There is no discussion of him taking advantage of a severe power imbalance or making a sexual quid pro quo, he just decides he's over it and moves on and it never comes up again. Then, despite having unprotected sex with a one-night stand who he knows is not on any sort of birth control, she tells him that she'll grab Plan B in the morning and he takes off, no exchange of contact info. When she finds out she's pregnant, she has no way of contacting him and it's only by coincidence that they find each other again. I'm just not ok with Colin being a completely irresponsible predator for no particular reason and then never being held accountable.

City of Romance

Hope is a travel journalist, writing about all of her adventurous around the world. While she isn’t contracted, she manages to make enough of money to cover expenses and see the sights. She had an assignment to visit Paris with her boy friend and write about the romance of Paris with your love before she finds out he hasn’t been exclusive with her for the two years they have been together and talking about a future together. She heads to Paris anyway and while there Colin, a pediatric doctor runs into her, literally. He suggests she let him be the one to encounter the city with. The do enjoy the sights together and wonderful sexual chemistry, but when Colin has to return to the states to help a patient with a health problem, Hope and he end their tryst. Imagine her surprise when she finds that the romantic trip leaves her with a couple of extra surprises. The romance between the two was at times so sweet and endearing and then again, just a step above a booty call for Colin. My only fault with the book was the detailed storyline for the first three quarters of the book, and the later skimmed over their HEA. With that said, that fact and some editing errors earned this a 4 Star-rating in my book, making a good read but not perfect.

Hope is a travel writer, but when she is sent to Paris to write a romantic article on travelling to Paris and all the things a couple could do in the City, will she feel inspired to write the article? She arrived alone since breaking up with her cheating ex boyfriend. But after a pep talk, she goes out on her own and wants to see what Paris holds for her. But after bumping into a man, will he inspire her?

Colin is in Paris for a convention, but he is staying for a few days to relax and enjoy life. But when he runs into Hope, maybe there is hope for him after all. Can they see Paris together so that Hope has enough material for her article? Will Colin be willing to play the part? But can Hope and Colin keep feelings out of it?

Such a sweet story of finding love in Paris when you least expect it. But when things happen, will Hope come clean or will Colin have to fight for information? Will Colin's ex put things in jeopardy for Hope or are they strong enough to handle everything being thrown at them? You will not be disappointed. Such a great read!! I received an ARC of this book from the author.

Hope and Colin meet while on working vacations in Paris. She is a travel writer and he a doctor. They had a meet-cute, then intensely hot fling in Paris that ended abruptly when he was called home for work. Right before he left, there was an issue with the protection they used, but she said she would take care of it. He got home only to find out his manipulative ex had lied, and lied about more than just a medical emergency. When Hope got home, she was so exhausted she forgot to take care of things and found out there were consequences to her lapse. How will she do this on her own? Especially after running into Colin and not being truthful with him.
Good read, enjoyed the story. The resolution with the ex felt anticlimactic, but at the same time she had already had her time in the story. Didn’t notice any typos, other than a weird formatting, but that could have been my Kindle.

Colin is a well known OB and Hope is a writer who travels for her job. Hope is on Paris on assignment for a romantic writing assignment but broke up with Jeremy (cheated). Colin was in Paris for a conference and mini vacation, he’s a workaholic.

They literally bump into each other and decide to help each other? Hope will show Colin Paris and a few sites, while Colin will be her partner for her writing piece. There are sparks between them and they both hold back due to past relationships and not wanting to commit. Colin needs to return, Dr. duty calls but they both shared a wild and sexy time.

Colin returns to find out that his ex Whitney is trying to get back together and pregnant! Not his child but Whitney is already spinning her story. Making him look bad while unbeknownst to him, Hope is pregnant!

It might drag a bit but it was part of the storyline with info needed. Find out how Dr. Colin finally meets Hope and tells her, he knows she’s carrying his child. Does Colin get Whitney to tell the truth? I enjoyed their journey, you will as well.
