Thoroughly enjoyed this book. A no bullshit, to the point, (funny) crime story. I enjoyed how Van navigated legal technicalities throughout - putting to bed some common myths (and improperly used sayings) and detailing other, lesser known intricacies of the legal system. A fun read

If Larry David and Alan Shore (Boston Legal) had a love child, moved to New Zealand and stumbled onto a criminal conspiracy...he might look a little like Van Stilton, the grumpy but lovable lawyer at the centre of this entertaining debut novel. In 'A Fly Under The Radar' McCartney manages to wrap a ripping yarn around a series of ironic, wry observations in a hilarious romp, that will have you laughing out loud and standing by for Van's next adventure.

Really enjoyed the humour within the story. The plot was a bit stretched but still enrolling
