On the run, wanted for a murder I didn’t commit, my only choice is to trust the strange, nerdy alien that swears to protect me.

Jenny

Being abducted by aliens? Sure, I can handle that, I’ve always wanted to see what’s out there anyway. Then my degenerate gambler of an owner loses me at alien poker and I need to escape.

The nerdy alien with a cute smile is the one coming to my rescue. Taking names and trading blows, he’s amazing. Things go from bad to worse when we’re put on the most wanted list for a murder we didn’t commit. I have no choice but to trust him, to help him complete his mission.

And that while his tentacles seem determined to bind me to him, every chance they get.

Akri

I have two missions, to end Drameil’s reign of terror, and to find out more about the species I have become. As a former AI, I struggle to control the violent impulses that strike me and I fear I will harm those I care about.

When I rescue Jenny, my damn tentacles won’t stop touching her. I don’t know what it means and I fear the worst. To keep her safe, I should send her away, but I can’t. Now my mission is more important than ever.

I have to find out who I have become before it’s too late, and I lose it all.

Logic Broken is a full-length sci-fi romance featuring hot alien gladiators, a sexy alien former AI, a sweet, adventure-loving heroine, and a guaranteed happily ever after.

Note: As the final book in the series, it’s recommended to read the previous books for maximum enjoyment.

Akri, the male android lead, was the AI for a spaceship and accidentally transferred his consciousness into an alien body which was brain dead. During the past few stories in this series, the reader has watched him work and struggle to gain control of his new body, trying to understand its physical cues as well as its emotional responses and its strange attributes. He’s been seriously considering re-uploading himself back into the spaceship.

Jenny, the female human lead, is a slave to a bar owner. She’s been doing the best she can since she was abducted from Earth and sold. When Akri comes into her bar, she attempts to warn him that he’s not in the best place, hoping to get him to safety. But when she’s attacked, Akri launches a dazzling counteroffensive that no one expected, including him - he knew his body was an ex-gladiator and he’s still struggling with automatic responses…

Running away together, they attempt to continue pursuing Akri’s original goals - accessing a supercomputer that has capacity to decode a criminal overlord’s encrypted information that he and his companions stole in a previous story, and to discover more about the alien body he resides in, since it’s an endangered species.

This story is mostly dual lead POV but has lovely sections from previous stories’ lead characters interspersed to really give the reader a feeling of anticipation and engagement in the story. Whilst the romance stands alone, the overarching plot really doesn’t and this is the last story in the series - for the best experience, read ALL these great stories in order! I truly adored Jenny’s perseverance and determination, and her encouragement of Akri. I enjoyed the contrast between Akri’s cute nerdy personality and the physicality of his form. I also appreciated that his mind was necessarily inexperienced with physical pleasure and the fun the characters had exploring that aspect of their relationship. I enjoyed the finalisation of the overarching plot and the satisfaction for the characters. I’m looking forward to what the author writes next because this series was fantastic!

Gleeful Goblin Review: This book made me laugh aloud super early on in the book because of this scene and MMCs "malfunctioning tentacle"because how can you not laugh at this delightfulness? (Bearing in mind this backstory of Akri is the AI of Ziame’s old ship, he has become sentient which is sadly illegal. Homed on the Vagabond before, he has now found himself stuck inside the body of an unknown male alien after an electrical surge overloaded the ship’s systems): "Hello, human,” he responded at last, his voice this posh, cultured drawl that had a shiver run down my spine. “What food would you recommend? I need hearty sustenance. My body is depleted,” he added. To my great shock, he wasn’t speaking some strange alien language; he was talking to me in English with a fancy, cultured accent. I gaped at him, taken entirely off guard by the sound of my native language on his tongue. How was this possible? Emotion flooded me, a wave of homesickness for the planet I had been stolen from. I hadn’t heard anyone speak my language since the moment I’d gotten here; this was the first time. “Miss?” he prompted me gently, and I found myself leaning in a little closer just to hear him better. That’s when one of his head tentacles slipped from his shoulder; it curled around my wrist, a gentle but firm weight. It felt like normal skin touching mine, smooth and soft but with solid muscle beneath it all. I wasn’t sure I could dislodge that thing if I wanted to. “Oh,” I stammered out, my eyes dropping from his intriguing face down to the tablet and the strange appendage holding me. “Uh, how about some stew? Can’t go wrong with that…” I eyed the tentacle again when he nodded along and his eyes finally dropped from my face down to my wrist. They went wide in shock and I saw him tilt his head, yanking back, but the tentacle didn’t let go of me. “It seems my head appendage is malfunctioning. My apologies,” he said. I fought a little burst of laughter that wanted to escape, muffling the sound by clasping my free hand over my mouth. This guy might speak English, but he sure had an odd way of saying things. Malfunctioning? He sounded like a computer. Shaking my hand to try to dislodge his grip, I shrugged at the same time. “It’s alright,” I said, a little unsure what to think of it. At least he was grabbing me in an entirely innocuous place, but who grabbed a person without meaning to? This was just so… weird." I am an absolute sucker for fish out of water type stories and a former AI learning his body and how to love someone is definitely meeting that criteria. From start to finish I adored this book. 5/5 Stars

I have been waiting for Akri’s story since book 1!

Logic Broken is book 10 in the Gladiators of the Vagabond series and although you certainly can read any book from this series as a standalone but I believe you will be missing out on so much if you do not start from the beginning!

If you like an adventurous sci-fi alien romance with bulging, sexy, honorable and loyal alien gladiators and human women who are feisty, brave, determined and strong this series is for you. Throw in so many adorable pets, children and a clever and humorous sentient AI then on top of that some very, very bad guys, lots of trouble and mishap and you have yourself a fantastic binge read!

Logic Broken is…. A perfect ending! I love the way Robin wrote this exciting last book! We got Akri’s amazing story and touched base with all the beloved characters we have fallen for as they all band together once again. Logic broken is full of laughs, loves, action and suspense, healing and celebration!

I loved Akri’s struggle with his own being and unfamiliar feelings and emotions. There could not be a more perfect match for him in Jenny who is strong and quirky in her own way and I think you will fall in love with her too. I laughed out loud so many times at Akri’s thoughts and comments and his innocence was so refreshing.

There are two spin off series from the Gladiators of the Vagabond that I have also fallen in love with that revolve around this same universe and a few characters from some of these books make their way there.

Check out Protected by the Alien Mercenary first, this is the prequel to Robin’s Monster Mercenary Mates series. Then, find Caught by the Alien Mercenary which is book 1 and is about the Varakartoom crew who I ultimately fell in love with. Dangerous bad guys… who knew?

Also do not miss the Serpents of Serant series… so good! They were unforgettable characters from Feral Tamed book! Happy binge reading!

Oh my God, oh my God. Gladiators of the Vagabond has come to its’ conclusion, and I am honestly, having some feelings about it.

In Logic Broken, Akri and Jenny are the focus. Once just an AI on a ship, Akira is still getting used to his body and all the feelings and… urges… that come along with it. Yet just as he was gaining control, Jenny, a slave and waitress immediately catches his attention. It only took one evening before they’re on the run - Akri is determined to find information and Jenny is determined to be with Akri. Together, they fight enemies and their feelings for one another as they try to find freedom.

Oh, I loved the Vagabond series, and I thought this was a great way to bring it all to an end. Written in a similar way to the other books, Logic Broken was mainly in the dual perspective of Jenny and Akri, but also had shots from the other members of the crew as well. And I loved this. It really brought home just how important Akri was to the group of gladiators and their mates. The fact that he also found his own mate was heartwarming.

I love Akri and Jenny together. Their bond was so evident right from the beginning and being witness to Akri going through ‘puberty’? Absolutely hilarious. So much of what he said and how he acted made me smile. His innocence and earnestness when it came to his mate was remarkably adorable.

Thank you Robin O’ Connor for taking me on this journey with the gladiators of Vagabond. I was lucky to have been with this series since the book and it was unforgettable ride! I can’t wait to see what else comes from this author!

I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All above thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the final in the Gladiators of the Vagabond series (book #10). Akri, the ships former AI, now possesses a former gladiator’s body and he is struggling to cope with his new abilities. Over the past few books, we have watched him learning to control his new body and understand the overwhelming emotions. He is searching to find more information about his species when he meets Jenny, a human slave. When she attempts to warn him of danger, he finds himself fascinated with her, but scared of the strength of his feelings. Jenny’s owner has just lost her by gambling and Akri ends up saving her from being taken away. On the run together, these two are both attracted, however Akri is afraid of his abilities and where his violent tendencies may lead him.

This book was an amazing finale to the series. Akri has assisted all the gladiators through meeting their mates and he is deserving of happiness, even if he doesn’t fully believe it. Jenny is strong and determined, she is perfect to help Akri learn to accept his new reality. The Vagabond crew is ready and able to save Akri and his new mate. It was wonderful to have the POV of the other gladiators and their mates, rounding out their stories and showing the importance of their found family to each other.

The story was well written, engaging and flowed smoothly. The characters are developed and the chemistry between them can be felt by the reader. Akri was so sweet, and remained baffled by his body and its unexpected behaviours. I have really enjoyed meeting the different gladiators and their mates. I have already found myself looking forward to a reread now that all the books are out. I’m sad the story is over but looking forward to seeing what the author comes up with next.

Whilst you could read the story independently from the series, you will get the most enjoyment from reading them in order. Especially with the character cameos from earlier books.

I received an arc and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a fantastic book and I loved seeing the old and new characters but its the journey that Akri and Jenny went through to get there HEA. Akri was the AI on the spaceship Vagabond when he entered the body of the Gladiator Brake who was in statis brain dead and was the perfect vehicle for him to hide in and is now on a mission to find out more about his species and find out what’s on the amulet and needs a super computer to find out but first he needs food and that’s what brings him to Drova’s Bar where he meets a human female that quips his interest and as he watches her move around the other patrons who try to grab at her and this makes him mad but when she smiles up at him and brings him his food he knows he isn’t leaving without her. Jenny is a human who was taken from earth and has been lucky to get by without being turned into a sex slave which brings her to why she works for Drova after he won her in a gambling game and now she works in his bar serving low life’s and cannot leave because of the shock collar but when all hell breaks lose Akri saves Jenny and now they are on the run together and are wanted for murdering a government official which they didn’t do but Akri has a mission and together they make there way to Or’korad where he hopes to get the information from the Dr Lekri super computer but to get it he lets him do some test on him but it goes to far but Jenny saves him. But there journey isn’t over there is action, drama, kidnapping, fighting, fated mates, freedom, and love are just a few things you can expect in this great book that will keep you turning the pages.

Logic Broken by Robin O’Connor
Gladiators of the Vagabond #10

Each story in this series is a delight! I am sorry to say goodbye to the gladiators and their mates but know they will do well together as they move forward through time and space.

What I liked:
* Jenny: human, taken from earth, carried to space in a pod, slave, working in a bar, resilient, sci-fan, enjoys adventure and adrenaline rushes, rather taken with Akri who resembles alien action heroes from her past
* Akri: artificial intelligence operator of spaceships, saved from burnout by entering brain-dead alien’s gladiator’s body, having difficulty assimilating his wiring to the body he is in, charming, protective, somewhat clueless but learns quickly
* The meet-cute and time on the run
* The dialogue between the two
* That Jenny is more experienced and savvier than Akri…about some things
* The snippets showcasing characters and their mates from previous books
* The way everything is tied up at the end
* Wondering if there might be a future book to see how they are all doing in the future
* Looking forward to the next series with Naga aliens that are snake-like but probably capable of mating with humans

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* The pain suffered by Akri and the torturer that inflicted it
* Having to say goodbye to the series

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Will I read more by this author? Yes

Thank you to the author and StoryOrigin for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Akri is on a voyage of discovery. As a sentient AI downloaded into the body of a brain dead alien he is desperate to find out about the individual whose body he's in. Also information on the species as it is little known and almost extinct.

In his search he stops at a seedy tavern and sets eyes on a beautiful human female. When a fight breaks out his only instinct is to save her.

Jenny is a tough, resourceful individual making the best of the hand she's been dealt. Slave to the criminal gambling bar owner where she works it is only a matter of time before he looses her in a bet to a worse owner. Today would be that day.

Akri and Jenny escape together and set off to get the answers for him whilst dodging the authorities and other criminals.

Akri is a wonderful mixture of scary fighting machine and clueless untried male.

Another fantastic addition to this series finally getting to read Akri's story but also catching up with the rest of the couples on the Vagabond. Whilst this book can be read as a standalone it helps to have read the previous stories. And to be honest, given how amazing this series is, you'd be mad not to read them all.

Jenny (h), a human woman who was abducted from Earth and sold into slavery, tries to warn Akri (H), a former AI who accidentally transferred his consciousness into an alien gladiator's body, when he comes into the bar she's forced to work in. Jenny and Akri find themselves on the run after being wrongly accused of a murder they didn't commit. As they get to know one another, they form a bond and trust each other as they try to accomplish Akri's missions to put an end to Drameil's organization and to learn more about his new body, all while navigating the dangers that follow them. Jenny and Akri's romance develops throughout the story, and they grow closer as they face challenges together while on the run, and even as Akri struggles to control his new alien body Jenny remains determined to be with him. Great end to the series with lots of action, adventure, heat, and romance, plus all the couples from the past figure in here too. It is recommended to read the previous books in the Gladiators of the Vagabond series to full explore the characters and the journey they’ve shared.

I'm actually sad that I've finished this series.  The characters and plots were wonderful, and this book was no exception.  I loved the suspense, the nonstop action, and of course the indispensable spicy scenes.  Akri was a former ship's AI who came to inhabit a dead gladiator's body, so it's like he has the best of both worlds - brains and brawn. These two attributes get him out of quite a lot of pickles in this story, along with attracting the perfect mate.  Jenny seems to thrive in adventure and adversity, making the best of every situation. The two MCs are very likable. The plot moves quickly, written with Robin O'Connor's typical excellent storytelling skills, and the book is hard to put down.  I love how the other couples from the Vagabond are interwoven with Akri and Jenny's story. Their friendships and brotherhood are really beautiful.  This book and the whole series are absolute must-reads if you enjoy sci-fi, adventure, action, suspense, and romance.

LOVED IT

Fantastic series finale! I loved that many of the series characters got a chapter in this book between Akri and Jenny’s adventure! Akri was the AI onboard the Vagabond until a massive power surge forced him to download himself into the brain of an unknown alien trapped in a malfunctioning stasis pod. After struggling to adapt to life as a flesh and blood being Akri leaves the Vagabond to investigate the mystery of his new bodies origins, his shipmates and friends are at a loss when Akri left no reason or explanation for his departure. They eagerly race to investigate every clue as to Akri’s whereabouts. Meanwhile Akri meets and rescues Jenny (a human female kidnapped from earth 100’s of years ago only to wake up a slave in a distant quadrant of the galaxy) as he tracks down a scientist he believes has research to help him understand his new body. His body being that of a former well known gladiator/slave that vanished without a trace decades ago. His reappearance also brings about old foes looking to cash in on his prime gladiator status.

Akri and Jenny's Story . . .

This is a cute idea for a story. Jenny’s owner is a gambler and not a good alien poker player because he ends up losing her. She needs to get away, and fortunately Akri -- an alien AI from Ziame’s ship who became sentient and is still trying to figure things out -- comes to her rescue. Akri still has much to learn about his life in a body now. He feels aggression and is afraid he will unintentionally harm someone, so he fears being around Jenny. He also does not recognize what falling in love is like, so his body craving to touch her every chance it gets is making him think maybe his violent tendencies might be putting her in danger. Will he figure it all out with a little help from Jenny? He wants to send her away for her safety, but he needs help understanding who he is now. He has a mission to complete. And maybe he has a HEA waiting for him when he figures it all out.

Akri’s quest

Akri is on a quest to find out about himself. He was once an AI and is now downloaded into an alien body. He needed to know more about his body’s species as they were almost extinct. Akri is working hard to control his appendices and make sense of the world around him, and his inner development and drives as he is now a sentient being. Akri is afraid that his powerful, strong, capable, confident and brutal fighting skills/instincts might hurt is friends. This quest is leading him into absolute danger and possibly capture by previous owner, Drameil, a vicious crime Lord, because of the body he is in, but he logically believes it is worth the risk even though his problem is twofold. He has to be very careful because his species is illegal. While connecting with the dregs of society, in a dive and seeking information and sustenance he is emboldened to rescue Jenny, a slave about to be bartered for gambling debts.

Wow.... Just wooow!

What a great way to end the series. 🥰🥰 Not only do you get Akris story but you get to hear from the other members of the Vagabond crew. You get to keep track of all of them so your not wondering... Love it!

You get adventure, found family, spice... yumm, and fated mates. 🥰🥰 I love Akri and his curiosity. He wants to find out more about his species, but in that process he found someone that understands him, wants to help him, and sticks by his side. His mate. Jenny, enslaved on an alien planet for a year. Now all she wants is to be free and go on an adventure like she used to do on earth. Together, they're on an mission to stay alive, find out more of Akris species and Drameil. Do they get their HEA or find the information their searching for?....

Absolutely love this book so much amd such a great series!😍🥰😍 Looking forward to reading what else this Author will come up with next. Naga or Mercenaries? ummmm 🤔🫣🤔

Akri has "lived" through some rather exciting times and has been instrumental in helping many of the crew of the Vagabond to find their mates. I have followed this series from the start and couldn't have been happier to find that he not only got to be a physical entity but that he also managed to find his heart, his Jenny. Funny how that overwhelming male attitude of "you are safer away from me" still seems to take hold! I have to say that the tale of these two is one of the sweetest although my favourite will always be Jakar. There is a sense of completeness to this series, like it has come full circle and we have been part of every step. If you can do try and read them all in sequence as it makes it that much richer. I am sad that it has been brought to a close but now I can go back and read them all, smug in the knowledge that I know what happens at the very end. Fabulous!

I'm feeling conflicting emotions towards this novel. I've loved this series and have eagerly awaited each new release, but now it's over.... Nonetheless, I loved Akri and Jenny's story regardless. They're a quirky pair and their story is full of action and adventure in addition to the love and romance.

Although this one could be read as a standalone like the others in the series, I believe that it would be better enjoyed if you had read the previous books since all of the couple's from the previous books make an appearance (their way of saying goodbye). It was a great series, and these characters deserve the happy ending they got. Enjoy!

Imagine being a sentinent AI. You have to be downloaded into an alien body to stay safe as your meer existence is illegal. Then you rescue a damsel in distress just to realize you may be falling in love with her. All you want is to protect and love her. Then imagine being a human that has been abducted from earth and pressed into slavery by alien races. Your boss just lost you to a very hostile alien dude. A mysterious alien rescues you and you are off on a wild adventure to freedom. Although, your heart may already be captured by this dorky, intelligent sexy dude!

I have read this series from the first and I have LOVED every single moment. I will dearly miss the crew of The Vagabond.

I loved this book! It was such a fun adventure and I was beyond excited for Akri's story! Great world building and wonderful characters. I thought Akri was adorable and I really enjoyed seeing him learning new experiences and feelings in his new physical body. I liked the dynamic between him and Jenny and the way she interacted with him. And their chemistry was sizzling!

A very fun read! I'm a bit sad that this is the last book in this amazing series, but a very happy ending and I can't wait to see what Robin has in store for us next! 5 stars.

Logic Broken was a great way to end the series. I loved Akri and Jenny. Akri thought he was broken or malfunctioning because of his body’s reaction to Jenny. He rescues her and they become wanted criminals. Now he has to get to the supercomputer and find his answers. He does not get all the information he needed but he does find out some interesting information and the author does a great job of making sure everything works out. I really enjoyed reading this book and am sad the series is ending. This book made me laugh and cringe in some parts. I would recommend it.

I'm so sad this is the last story of the Vagabond's crew.
This is the perfect final to this terrific series, since Beast Umburdened Akri was the point that connected all the other characters and in this book we see him as a candid geek with the body of a gladiator learning how to deal with his emotions.Akri and Jenny will have a dificult path with adventure and danger but a happy ending.Loved this story and all the series so much and can't wait to read the next book of Robin O'Connor!.

A wholesome read. For the fans of the vagabond universe, Akri’s story has been long awaited. Akri , a sentient AI that now possesses a powerful gladiator body, tries to find out more about his newfound feelings and his place in the world now that everything has changed for him. He rescues the very brave Jenny, (a human enslaved and pressured to work as a waitress ) and together they unveil truths about themselves , fight off enemies and build a strong bond.
The intermittent POVs of the other gladiators and their mates brings an extra spicy touch to this book.

This was a fab finale and it was the perfect story to close off the series. Akri has been learning more and more about his new body but is still rather baffled by it. Jenny, a slave, has more experience in some things than him but yeah, their chemistry was great. These two had quite the adventurous time on the run but there was still time for interactions and developing their bond. I especially loved getting time with characters from the previous books. The author did a fab job with this sweet and steamy romance and I can't wait to see what's next from her :D

3.5 stars rounded up.
I liked it. I liked Akri and Jenny, she was an adrenaline junkie, but she still came off as intelligent, since she only really did one stupid thing in the whole book. She followed instructions and knew when to wait and when to fight (unlike Tori, which is why I hated her so much. Still do). The little chapters with the others felt a bit like filler, since none of them told anything really important for the plot. I skimmed through the one in Tori’s POV because I can't stand her.

Jenny and Akri

This is a very good, well written, Alien/Human, SciFi romance. There are a few editing errors but they do not hurt the story. With this story, we leave this series but lots of questions are answered. It can stand alone but you really should read the stories in order. Jenny has been a slave for a shady gambling bar for a year. Akri is hunting for information about his species and to decode an amulet. They escape the bar together. Read how Jenny’s love of SciFi hero’s comes to life.

The two main characters are quite different. Jenny is an adrenaline junky, she loves action. Akri, on the other hand, tries to avoid it. He has a constant fear of losing control. They both feel the attraction from the beginning. While Jenny is willing to embrace it, Akri has no idea what’s going on, why he can’t seem to control his body. They have to struggle keep ahead of danger that follows them everywhere while trying to figure things out.

This book was a good ending to the series. Akri an AI turned to flesh is a breath of fresh air. His computer mind is fast, but very blunt. He is a force to be reckoned with especially when he finds Jenny. Jenny is a woman who gets excited for adventure and an adrenaline rush. These two make a fine pair when it comes to steamy, kick butt and funny scenes.

Love sci-fi fantasy? Then you'll love this series.

A.I. getting a biological body might scare some people but the way Akri gets his was a happy happenstance not by deranged design and made for a good story plot. The fact that justice prevails along with love, family and more babies makes it even more satisfying. To grandmothers like me there can never be too many babies or happy endings.

Sad to see you go...le sigh

This was a great ending, and I loved seeing this AI get his hea....so great that the author integrated him into a "real boy" seeing him fuse with living flesh was chefs kiss.

Thank you for all the little chapters with all of the crew it tied everything up nicely.

I only wish for maybe an epilogue. Otherwise, this has been a beautifully written series with characters I have come to love.

Akri got his story. And his person, Jenny, was awesome. Full of layers of adventure laced in technology, I couldn’t put this down. I loved how the overall storyline came together as well. The chemistry and passion between Akri and Jenny was intense. Just loved this series.

This well-written book 10 in The Gladiators of the Vagabond Book Series has an intriguing story with unique characters with intense personalities and realistic interactions. I really liked this book and cannot wait for the next one and have liked all the ones so far in the series. This story has action, twists, and turns. A must read.
