Bookworms, Werewolves, and Meddling Matchmakers, Oh My!

When Gerri Wilder joins a book club, she has no idea she's about to become the ringleader of a matchmaking circus. Armed with romance novels and good intentions, these meddling ladies are determined to spark love between their stubborn offspring.

Lena Caldwell is a 36-year-old video game designer who'd rather level up in life than swipe right. She's content with her controller... until she meets a muscular, hunky shifter who promises to give her the Big O she's only read about.

Alex Mercer, wolf alpha and bookstore owner, is sick of his mother's not-so-subtle hints about finding a mate. Little does he know, fate and a bunch of interfering book club ladies have other plans. And when Alex meets snarky and funny Lena, he knows there's no turning back.

When Lena becomes the target of a rival pack's claws, Alex must prove he's more than just a pretty face with a furry alter ego. How can he keep her safe without driving her away? And when will Lena realize that sometimes, reality is better than fiction?

Get ready for a howling good time filled with steamy encounters, witty banter, and enough action to make your head spin faster than a wolf chasing his tail. This paranormal rom-com will have you laughing and cheering on these meddling mamas!

Dnfed at 39% I really was excited for this because I'm such a big nerd and love video games. However the characters have very little dimension with only a few key traits like Lena being a nerd and Alex being a bookshop owner and wolf. It felt very fast paced and maybe I'm just not a fan but it felt very very fast and we weren't shown what kind of texts they would share or really any building of a real deep relationship. Also I'm all for sexual freedom but sex on the first date with very little build up felt very weird. It kinda felt like the entire relationship was very weird. No buildup for them to care for eachother. No buildup for mind blowing orgasms. Pretty disappointed

Link with Me de Milly Taiden Serie The Matchmaker's Book Club libro 1

Argumento:

This book was not for me. I found the parents consistent meddling in the romantic lives of their adult children off-putting. I also did not feel like the relationship between Lena and Alex was realistic. I provide examples below.

Link with Me is the first title in the Gerri Wilder-based series, The Matchmaker’s Book Club. Our extremely talented matchmaker is at it again, although this time she might have joined a book club only to discover a room full of mothers/grandmothers determined to find their children their fated mates. Something that Gerri excels at, so hold on to your bookmark, the adventure is about to begin.

I am a gamer. For the past twenty years, I’ve played World of Warcraft (WoW), where I can be found for 4 to 5 hours every single night battling bad guys or hanging out with guildmates. The connections/friendships I’ve formed there are just as real as any found in the “real world”. So, this series has a special appeal to me because, gaming, I get it.

Lena is a gamer and a game developer, whose mother is convinced she’ll never see Lena settled or have more grandbabies to love. Obsessed much, maybe, but she wants her daughter to find everlasting love, and well, Gerri is right there in her book club, so why not involve a world-famous matchmaker in her shenanigans?

Alex is a bookstore owner and a rather new alpha to his wolf pack. His father has stepped back with Alex in control now, and he’s juggling so many plates in the air that at times it’s a struggle to do the right thing every moment. Alex’s mother is also in the book club and is excited to see her son matched by Gerri, so Lena and Alex are set up on a blind date, a date that will change their lives.

I loved everything about Link with Me by Milly Taiden. It’s well-written, emotional, with humor and danger sprinkled throughout. Alex will have to make some hard decisions to keep Lena safe, and Lena will need to lower her walls to let Alex in. Together, they shine. If you love a shifter romance full of all the feels, laughter, steaminess, and a couple that is perfect together, then this one is for you.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Amazing start to a new series of Gerri Wilder matches, excellent characters and stories that are riveting
I have so been looking forward to future books and have to say that this was more than I expected and I cannot Praise Milly Taiden enough for the complexity of characters and the storyline that is simply fantastic, you just cannot out the book down once you begin reading until you reach the end and know the subsequent outcome.
Gerri Wilder has joined a book club that has brought her into contact with a different clientele, they are grandparents and wannabe grandparents that have to motivate their grown-up children to search for a mate, love and a family of their own,
Gerri is renowned in shifter society for her success in finding mates among all types of shifters and humans some times and decides to help two mothers that have set up a date for their off spring, will Gerri be able to pull it off.
The relationship between Alex and Lena is very sweet and I was rooting for them from the off however as pack Alpha. Alex has a lot of responsibility to his pack and he knows that Lena is more than simply attractive, she makes him and his shifter self so happy he knows they are destined for each other.
However, there is a dangerous enemy that is threatening his pack and now seems to have switch its sights to his female and this is not allowed, he will protect them at all costs even if it means having to kill the threat. Will his pack mates stand alongside him and assist him id=n defending the pact and also his mate, time will tell.
This is a thrilling read I know that others will be as enamoured by it as myself and will look forward to the next book in the series.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

Linking Up with Love, Wolves, and a Dash of Zelda

If you're a Zelda fan, or just someone who appreciates a good wolf-themed romance, "Link with Me" is like hitting the triforce jackpot. Lena's a gamer in her late 30s , Alex is an Alpha wolf with a bookstore, and sparks fly faster than you can say "fated mates."

This book isn't just about love; it's about what it means to be a leader who’s trying to keep it all together—pack rivalry, steamy moments, and all.

But let's talk names. Seriously, Alex's best friend is Wes, and Lena’s brother-in-law is Wasley. Why not throw in a Wesley just to keep us on our toes? And the matchmaker? what was her role exactly? Still scratching my head over what they were doing in the story at all.

Spice level? A solid 3 out of 5—enough to keep things interesting but not too hot to handle.

i am qoute junky, here is one i liked:
Alex met his father’s gaze, a shared understanding passing between them. “But what if it’s not enough? What if I fail her, fail our pack?” “Then you rise, you learn, and you grow stronger,” his father replied with conviction. “You will make mistakes, Alex, but that’s the burden of leadership. What matters is how you carry those mistakes and how you let them shape the future.

Overall, "Link with Me" is a fast-paced, fated mates rollercoaster with just the right amount of spice and wolfish charm. Perfect for a weekend read—just don’t expect to get any answers from that matchmaker subplot!

Link with Me by Milly Taiden Review due 8/27/23 5 stars
Alex & Lena

The beginning of a new Gerri Wilder matchmaker series is filled with steam and danger. It seems the book club she joined is filled with wannabe grandparents whose kids aren't nearly as excited about the prospect. Marriage or mating partner isn't something they have found. The many dates the mothers have set up for them haven't produced The One. Can Gerri's perfect success record change that?

I love the relationship between Alex and Lena. As pack Alpha, he has many responsibilities and hasn't found a female who draws his attention until Lena. She not only draws him physically but brings joy as well.

Will that joy be corrupted by an enemy threatening his pack and female? Will he have to choose war or is there another way?

I thoroughly enjoyed this first in the series and am ready for the next.

Milly Taiden & her stories of shifters & their human mates!!

I love this Series! Gerri Wilder is an amazing Matchmaker! Getting a Book Club together & inviting Gerri to join, was the best idea these women had. They were all tired of trying to get their children to find their mate. And they weren't succeeding.

Getting the Matchmaker to join the Book Club, they really wanted some help! Could she help them? Help their children find the love of their lives?! Gerri is talented & when she gets going the love story forms & she just knows it's going to work out.

So Milly, tell me, where is Gerri? I could use her help. LOL

Love the way your mind works!! These stories are the best. Once I got my first Kindle about 10 years ago, I found your stories on Amazon. The only thing is that you can really get caught up in purchasing books. 1-Click is scary!! LMAO

Gerri Wilder strikes again, this time as part of a monthly book club where meddling moms are more interested in finding matches for their kids than discussing books. Lena’s mother laments how much time she spends on developing video games, rather than devoting her efforts to giving her grandchildren.

Alex is a new alpha and finds himself embattled with a neighboring pack. When Lena stumbles into Alex’s bookstore, their connection is instant and undeniable. I really enjoyed their story and the battle between the warring packs.

I can’t wait to read more of Gerri’s new match making escapades.

Fun read with drama

I liked the gaming aspect of the story. It was fun for her. Sure seemed like some of his pack was not doing their job in guarding. Its not rocket science they should have figure out that if there was a distraction that the alpha was being attacked. It happened to !any times to not change something. Also they needed some way to communicate because that was really lacking. His second had no business going to the mate. Just my thoughts. All in all I enjoyed the story. A lot of wolves can communicate telepathy in a pack but they needed some way to communicate with each other than in person. The elders were useless imo.

A human woman and an alpha male wolf shifter!

A group of women have a book club and an elderly woman matchmaker has asked to join the club. Instead of talking about books they end up talking about their adult children and the want for grandchildren. A human woman is tried of her family trying to set her up on dates that go horribly wrong. An alpha male wolf shifter is tired of hearing from his mother the need to find a mate and have children. You will have to read the book to find out what all happens to everyone. There may be vicious attacks on humans and pack members. Lots of twists and turns. Happy reading!

A great start to a new series! Gerri is at it again with a new clientele! A book club full of moms who want their kids to find love and happiness and of course give them some grandkids! This story featured Alex and Lena who definitely had some strong chemistry! I loved watching them get the relationship neither thought they would! Alex was so protective and sweet! I loved how Lena was so strong and stood by Alex! Lena’s mom was so funny! This was a very enjoyable book and I can’t wait for more! This is my honest opinion of this complimentary copy of this book

Welcome to the Match Maker's Book club! Alex and Lena were a world apart. Neither had found their "match". But a meeting of their mothers, at a book club, along with Geri Wilder, was about to change all that. Alex, bibliophile and pack leader was in no hurry to meet his mate. Lena, game creater and gamer extraordinaire might just be his match. Independent, creative, he understands her and her world. Mates?! But push comes to shove when the neighboring pack makes her their target. Fabulous, smexy and fun....this is the 1st book in a new series from Milly Taiden. Kudos Milly!

I loved this book! A different kind of Gerri Wilder story. Lena & Alex make a perfect couple. A book club with Gerri Wilder as a guest turns matchmaker moms to Gerri for questions. How to put together two people and not know your match making. Well these two mothers did it Gerri’s way and their son and daughter didn’t know what hit them. This is a love story with adventure. A perfect match with ups and downs but lots of romance. Perfect for reading twice. I received a free ARC for my review.

Lena 36 a game developer whose parent is busy setting up her up on blind dates. She is looking for an unusual book and her mother refers her to a book store her book club friend referred .
Alpha Alex is not looking forward to another blind date, but when a beautiful woman comes in looking for a particular book he is very happy to help her and even gets a date. A romantic suspense. I read a review copy without obligation. I volunteered an honest review.

Brilliant Series

Link with Me (The Matchmaker’s Book Club1) by Milly Taiden. Gerri Wilder joins a book club and immediately falls into a matchmaker mode. All the members had children needing mates but Gerri starts with 2. A wolf shifter Alpha son and a human daughter. The match succeeds but it also brings trouble from a neighbouring pack. Trouble that causes harm to the girl and anguish to the Alpha.

Gerri has been my favorite character of the PDA series for years, and now she is appearing in a whole new series. This time she is playing mathmaker to some couples who's mama's are tired of waiting for grandbabies. With all the fun, loving, and steam you would expect from an MT series, this story was not a disappointment. I look forward to reading the next book!

yay, more Geri

There were some good points made here. My kids aren’t looking very hard for love either!
I loved the way her family wanted to help.
I liked the way they listened to each other and paid attention to each other.
However, she was a bit foolish. If I were being targeted, I’d certainly be doing something to protect myself, like pepper spray at the very least.

Link with Me is the first book in the new Matchmaker's Book Club Series. And what a great start to this series it was. It has steam, danger and fated mates. You get meddling mom's in a book club asking Geri Wilder to get their adult children love matches. Alex and Lena's story is an insta connection, with all the feels, gamers, and smoking hot chemistry. What an enjoyable read.

Great read

I love reading Milly's books, each have a wonderful romance to embrace, as well as some action and the usual bad villains, but Milly puts it all into one near and enjoyable bundle. I'm going to see if there is a follow on, as although it ended as a hea, it mentioned 'the end - for now'.

Wasn’t quite hitting the right note for me 🫠
This could still be great for someone that loves paranormal romances, gamer girls and bookish boys, meddling mothers, all set in a small town. Just coming across too insta-lovey for me at the moment (it is a novella though so logically I understand there’s not a lot of space to build, just 🤷🏼‍♀️)

Barely finished, and I loved the author.

I don't know how to describe it, but this is one of the worst MT books I have read. I have read the majority of the PDA series, and this is trying to be an extension of that. The story didn't flow well. Things were rushed at the end, and I had a hard time finishing this book. Character development was non-existent.

I really wanted to like this but it was not good. It felt like it skipped around a lot, and I mean to the point that it felt like chapters were missing or something. The story was in no way cohesive and somehow they managed to make it too fast paced with no build up or context while also being too slow and frankly not terribly interesting.

Hmm..

Cute new series, but proofreading and spelling should have been double checked. I love her PDA series with Gerri, but this new series is completely different from her usual fare even though Gerri's involved a bit.

Just my opinion.

You can feel the chemistry and the love between our MCs in the pages of the book. It was intense. The story had a bit of reality except for the shifter thing and fated mates. I loved the humor and the laughter between the MCs and their respective families.
