Jamie Payne, how I hate thee. Let me count the ways.
He’s unreliable, flighty, and the most chaotic manchild I’ve ever met.
The only things he takes seriously are his gym routine and adding more notches to his bedpost.
We're living proof that opposites do not attract, and we have a decades-long feud to show for it.
All of which makes our best friends falling in love… problematic. Especially when they ask us to set aside our differences and organise their extravagant stag-slash-hen party across the Atlantic in Las Vegas.
Jamie’s about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Instead of helping me book flights and arrange hotel rooms, he’s made it his mission to make my life hell at every turn.
But after all this time, doesn't he know I'll fight back? That I won't take his antics lying down?
Maybe he’s an idiot.
Or maybe that’s exactly what he’s counting on.
Do You Need Me? is a hilarious, hot romantic comedy featuring a loveable golden retriever and the woman who brings him to heel. Expect underhand hijinks, tequila-fuelled mishaps, and steamy scenes you shouldn’t read in public.
If you’re a fan of enemies-to-lovers, fake relationships, forced proximity, and opposites that finally attract, then this is the book for you.
For content warnings, please use the Look Inside option. This book contains strong language and explicit sexual content not suitable for those under 18 years old. Seriously, Mum put this book down. It might look cute, but you don't want your kid to find out what these two get up to in the bedroom. Or in the office. Or in the abandoned conference room. You get the idea.
Now I know I love a good enemies to lovers, but this book reminded me just how much I love the trope! This book was a classic, enemies since childhood, forced together by the upcoming marriage of friends.. the banter and sexual tension was unmatched and I absolutely fell in love with them both! 🥹
Our FMC, Emma, is a hardworking and anxious workaholic, forever being the people pleaser and struggling to set boundaries for her own sanity. Then Jamie, our MMC, is the known playboy, class clown and ball of confidence who turns into the most protective golden retriever you’ll ever come across 🥹 I love how we also found a much more sensitive and loving side to Jamie, especially his relationship with his Nan❤️
This book followed some really saddening topics so I recommend you research prior to reading to avoid any triggers, but it was handled and written in such a sensitive way. I feel Emmily really did a good job at covering them 🌸
The spice was spicing, written by a fellow romance lover, Emmily knew first hand what would hit and she certainly executed it 🌶️🌶️
I already miss Emma and Jamie, their story really hit me and I just loved them! 🥹
As I mentioned, Do You Need Me? Released TODAY and is also available on KINDLE UNLIMITED! Please go check it out and support a debut author 🥹
I can't believe that I've fallen in love with contemporary romance stories, especially true enemies to lovers trope. Emma and Jamie took me through many emotions, I screamed, laughed, and felt super annoyed with these two characters. This debut book was perfect.
This book made me laugh and cry in equal measure. If you love a Enemies to Lovers, forced proximity Rom Com with the bonus of added spice you will LOVE this!
Emma and Jamie's romance/fake romance and all its ups and downs will keep you gripped while being such an easy and fun read. I laughed out loud so many times.
My book of the year. I cant wait to see what this Author brings us next xxx
This Enemies to lovers, forced proximity debut Novel is a must read!
It had everything we love in a enemies to lovers book, as well as a good amount of spice and humour.
Emma and Jamie have hated each other since school, so when they left school they were pleased they would not crossed paths again.... Until they do! Emmas best friend Cindy, and Jamies Best friend Anthony get engaged. And with Emma being maid of honour and Jamies Best man, they are forced to organise the joint Stag and Hen do, and boy tensions run high! Jamie is so laid back with planning, whereas Emma runs a tight ship and clashing only comes natural to them!
This book had some real laugh out loud moments, as well as some sensitive subjects that are handled beautifully.
For a debut Novel, Emmily has done an incredible job and I am so excited to read the next one.
I will recommend this book to everyone - it is fantastic!
I really loved this book. It’s a true enemies-to-lovers story with forced proximity and fake dating and I was surprised how well it worked with the storyline. The dynamic between the characters was amazing when the lines started to blur between enemies and more. There was so much angry tension and they had great chemistry. I also enjoyed the spice which worked really well with the story. A very enjoyable book set in London with a lot of good British humour. :-)
I really enoyed this book, and if this was a debut novel from this lovely autor, I am so excited about what's to come.
Some amazing tropes He falls first Enemies to lovers Fake dating sort of
The banter was incredible.
We follow Emma and Jamie, who have literally despised each other since they were kids, and I mean, they really hate each other. Emma thinks he's a total joker and doesn't take life seriously. Jamie thinks she's stuck up her own arse and thinks she is better than everyone.
Fast forward, and 2 of their best friends are getting married, and the couple are forced to travel together for a joint stag and hen do in Las Vegas.
Constantly pulling pranks and nasty comments to each other, everyone worries if it will even be a success if these two are constantly arguing. Trying not to ruin the event the 2 try their best to avoid eachother but with an incident that happens at the hotel they decide to share their troubles over a bottle of tequila which will lead to drunken decision that will change their future forever.
Laugh out loud romantic fluffy comedy with a slow burn if thats your style, i recommend this book.
What a debut book, it had everything the perfect enemies to lovers should have in it plus the perfect amount of spice! A devouring read in every sense and I cannot wait to read more by you.
So glad I stumbled on your TikTok account and was blessed by reading this!
Absolutely loved this book! Such a fun and quick read! It had the perfect amount of spice, great witty humor, and tension. When I read and found out why the book is titled “do you need me” 😍.Can’t wait to see what comes next from the author Emmily!
Girrrrrrl you absolutely smashed this book out of the park!!! I absolutely devoured this book from start to finish! Jamie and Emma are hilariously funny cute and oh so spicy! I loved it so much and cannot wait to read more of your work in the future 💖💖💖
Absolutely incredible book! Loved the characters and the humour throughout. Seriously, I couldn't get enough. The only negative thing I have to say is I didn't want it to end, haha If I could I would rate it 6 stars x
I received an ARC of this book, my first from the author, and I absolutely adored it!! I’m a sucker for enemies to lovers, forced proximity, fake dating, grumpy sunshine, and arranged marriages but all together and British?! Wowza! I looooved the banter and history between Jamie and Emma—I laughed out loud a bunch of times! The scenarios, the comments, the reveals, and the mess they made were so hysterical! Add in the poignancy of Nan, the care that comes in when Jamie is there for Emma in a variety of ways and levels of severity, and the same goes for Emma and Jamie! They love, tension, chemistry, it was all one wild rollercoaster but I adored every second!
So many things happen in this winding tale of love and hate and how fine the line is between, how chemistry cannot be denied and sometimes starts off in quite a different way, and how sometimes someone balances you in ways you didn’t know! The title is perfectly apt for how Jamie and Emma grow together and I love the ways in which that phrase is incorporated in this one. Not only on the incredible steamy scenes, but in all the loving ones too. So freaking good!!! I didn’t want it to end!
The chemistry between Jamie and Emma was explosive from the get go and seemed effortless to them. When they were fighting, they were vicious to each other while knowing what lines they shouldn’t cross. It wasn’t necessarily enemies to lovers in my eyes. I would call it more like schoolyard crushes.
Jamie was one hundred percent pulling on Emma’s pigtails. And I loved him. The way that he switched up his inner thoughts from “how mad can I make her?” to “only I can make her mad!”
UGH! So attractive. All of the ways that they both started to show up for the other. Their relationship was so healthy and just perfect. Do You Need Me? was heavily character driven and the cast was really diverse and just awesome foils for all of Jamie and Emma’s problems. Genuinely, I really enjoyed Do You Need Me?.
Emma and Jamie were so cute. I loved them so much.
Do you need me? - @emmilysorelle Her debut novel Rating - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice rating - 🌶️🌶️
If you want a quick fast pasted enemies to lover, forced proximity and funny romance then this book is for you! Such a great plot and twists that you don't expect, I ate this book up in 4 days and NEED more, need to know what else is in the future for Jamie and Emma! I fell in love with this book, has to be up there with one of my favourite reads of 2024
This was the best contemporary romance I have read! I was hooked within the first few pages. It had all the tropes I love! The spice was a solid 3.5 and well written. I laughed out loud, kicked my feet, and teared up. The development of the characters were done well and the banter was amazing! I cannot wait for her other books! Yall don't walk run to order this book!
Do You Need Me? Why yes I did need you! This book was amazing and I could not put it down. The tension between the male and female main characters during the first half was so good but the second half blew me away! The love, the humour, the spice. It wrapped up so nicely into a warm romance that I want to sink into again!
Someone recommended this on tiktok so I thought I would give it a go.
I'm so glad I did as I couldn't put it down. It was full of drama, smut and spiciness with some emotional parts thrown in. I loved the chemistry between Emma and Jamie and their friendship with Cindy and her partner.
If you love a good enemies to lovers trope, I'm sure you will love this.
I absolutely loved this, it was the perfect balance of everything. A cosy funny read with spice! It gave me all the feels. I honestly couldn’t get enough, it’s a page turner for sure that makes you feel all fuzzy inside.
A enemies to lovers novel where they are hugely enemies to start with. Had quite a few 🌶🌶 scenes during the book and some unfortunate events which means they get thrown together or pushed together. Overall, I enjoyed reading it and the characters were fun and relatable
Do You Need Me by Emmily Sorelle ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 Stars
It's such a great romance novel! This is a childhood rivalry to adult mortal enemies to lovers, and the banter is sooooooo good! Emma and Jamie are hilarious with all the pranks and how they go out of their way to taunt each other and drive each other mad. I love that it starts with the prologue in their younger school days and then fast forwards their story to how they have come back in each other's lives as adults through mutual friends. They have become the maid of honor and the best man in their best friends' wedding and have to figure out how to get along and plan events together for their friends. Instead, they end up fighting, pulling pranks, and goading each other into ridiculous situations until they push it too far on the combined bachelor/bachelorette party in Vegas and end up drunkenly getting married. They try to keep their marriage a secret, but of course, things spiral, and they end up living together. This book has forced-proximity, secret relationship, and an enemies to friends to lovers tropes. I absolutely loved reading every page of this book, always waiting to see what they would do next! Emmily has written a hilarious and fantastic romantic comedy that I would definitely recommend reading! Thank you so much for selecting me as an arc reader!
I absolutely loved this book so much I can’t put it into words. Emmily’s writing had me hooked from the start! Emma & Jamie’s story was a perfect example of many people’s favourite enemies to lovers trope. I have followed Emmily for a while on tiktok and seeing her becoming an author and make a name for herself is a wonderful thing to see. I cannot wait to see what you come up with next Emm and support you on your journey as a VERY SUCCESSFUL author!
Okay wow! It’s not often a book will actually make me laugh out loud but this one did It also made me sob and snot everywhere before making me smile all over again
