When you’re sitting in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower on the biggest sporting stage in the world and see the man of your dreams he’s nothing more than a distraction.
But there’s nothing like this type of distraction. And nothing like a little mental motivation to show up and show out when someone has their eyes on you. At least that's what my sister thinks when I meet professional basketball player Devin Grant, a two-week distraction that could turn into forever…
Running Game is an Olympics’ inspired sports romance that gives you all the feels.
I'm a mother of two, avid reader and newly published author. I've always aspired to publish my writings and finally stepped out to do it after surviving breast cancer. I hope you enjoy my current book and leave a review if you like it.
3.5 This book was my first read by this author. I really enjoyed the main couple story in this book. Overall I like the message in the story and look forward to reading more book by the author.
This book was so good. Masha had me wanting to jump into the book, but by the end, I felt for her, and the way that Tess bossed up and went about her was really nice, too. I felt like I was in Paris actually there for the world games. It makes me look forward to the Olympics this summer. lol Devin was such a great guy. He had a big heart and tolerance level, but when it was enough, it was exactly that. He was great. Tessa was everything, and he sister was awesome. I looked Quentin, too. I hope to see more from these characters in the future.
Devin and Tessa seemed to be destined for a gigantic ending. I throughly enjoyed reading this one. Anything sports related grabs my interest. I loved each page of this one. All the characters were great. Marshawn was so messy and thought she was privileged. Thankful she realized what she needed to do. Great ending. Awesome story.
This was really good. I am excited to have fallen in love with the work of a NTMA. I can’t wait to read more by her! I loved that Tess and Devon both played no games about the other. From their meeting to their courtship and more they handled business like grown folks should!
Track legend Tessa ran so that her sister Tamara could leave b*tches in the dust during the 2 and 400 meter dash in track and field. Tess’s dreams may have been derailed but as one of the most sought after track and field coaches known to the sports world, she’s dedicated years and poured into her sister and now they’re headed to the World Games in Paris and are going for Gold! Tess had no idea that while there, she’d run into her longtime crush Devin and run her way into a world wind romance!
Devin is a legend in his own right. He’s an NBA legend and ready to take team USA to victory during the World Games. Fresh out of a break up with an R&B superstar that wasn’t truly a relationship to begin with he’s determined to make sure that the next woman he’s seen with is genuinely his and someone he can be proud to have on his arm. If there was anyone worthy of that title, it was Tess because she definitely matched his fly and made him look better instead of the other way around.
These two really had me wrapped all the way up into this two week romance in Paris! Devin was not holding back when it came to showing Tess a good time and baby did she have this mans nose wide open and head over heels in love when it was all said and done!
The book was not without drama either! The saying “you don’t know what you have until it’s gone” rang true for Devin’s ex and the bish did not go quietly. She was more trouble than she was worth and had too much audacity for me!
These NTMAs have really been showing out! This story was really well written and flowed so naturally! This author will 100% be on my radar moving forward! If you’re looking for a newish take on a sports romance, you’re in for a treat with this one.
Tessa is in Paris, coaching her sister--a rising track star--in the World Games. She has some lingering sadness for her own career as a runner, which was cut short due to injury, but she’s proud of her sister and the best at what she does. She meets Devin Grant, a basketball star also there for the games and he immediately wants to impress her enough to get her time. Little does he know, he’s Tessa’s secret crush and the only one she’s willing to give her time to.
This was a sweet romance. Falling in love with Paris as a backdrop is a fun and exciting concept. Tess and Devin were very cute and their passion for each other showed throughout. I loved the way Tess was with her sister and her acknowledging her own fears and regrets went a long way toward strengthening her relationship with Devin. I also liked that Devin was forthcoming and intentional. He didn’t wait to handle his business, in any way. Not with Tess, his ex, or his career.
I will say that the banter felt a little stiff in the beginning, but it smoothed out. The original conflict was a serious one and I liked how Devin handled it, and understood why Tessa ran scared. The miscommunication after it confused me a little, mostly because it didn't feel like it was as big a problem as they made it. But their little rebuild was nice, and it was lovely at the end.
I received this book as an ARC. Thank you to the author.
This was so good. Tess and Devin are really amazing together. Tess is her sister Tamera track trainer/coach. Devin plays basketball and they are all in Paris for the world championship. While there they meet and she takes her shot. He is on her hoe pass list. Added bonus that he is attracted to her at first glimpse. From their first slightly clumsy encounter this very enjoyable story unfolds. Rene Wolfe did an amazing job. The pacing is great and the writing just really pulled me in. I really believed this couple had meet and feel in love in 199 pages. That is a skill all on its own.
Devin Grant and Tessa Jackson meet during a sporting event in Paris. Devin is taken with Tessa when he sees her and wants to immediately spend time with her. Tessa is resistant at first knowing Devin's past based on media outlets, but forges ahead only for other issues and misinformation create a wedge in the growing relationship.
I enjoyed reading Devin and Tess's story. There were times I wondered if this couple would allow the challenges to deter them from revealing their feelings.
Ever since I read Kayland and Ora I’ve been on a Rene Wolfe kick deciding I was going to read her entire catalog this weekend an this is the 5th book of hers I’ve read and I can officially say I’m a fan of her work. I’m late to the party but I definitely won’t miss anymore. This one was the longest of the books I’ve read and I can say it was well worth the pages.
Such a cute storyline. Olympics theme romance with a current athlete and a former athlete that was very believable and should age well every time it’s an Olympic year. I appreciated the flaws each character had, but I also appreciated the journey the author took us through for each character to experience and accept one another’s flaws. It made the story believable with completely swoon worthy romance.
Tamara was my favorite she definitely needs her own book with the chef, I think Qentin deserves his own story as well. Tessa and Devin were explosive in the best ways, I wouldn't mind a novella about where they are in the future hopefully he wins a championship and Tess's book goes number one and they go half on a baby.
I enjoyed this pretty much from start to finish. Tessa and Devin were so good together. I sooo loved the scene where Tessa tells Marshawna about herself, and I also loved Tamera's constant encouragement of Tessa and Devin. Loved it.
This was my first read from this author and I look forward to checking out more from her.
This is my time reading this author and it didn't disappoint. I love that Devin didn't feel sorry for Tess and wouldn't allow her to feel sorry for herself. Glad Tess gave herself a chance to live and to be loved. Altogether a great love story.
Devin had an instant attraction to Tessa, and outside of his one lapse in judgment, he was 100% sure about her. Now Tessa had some growing to do. I’m glad her mom and sister got her together. That Masha needed serious help with her selfish self.
My first time reading something from this author, but it won't be my last! I enjoyed Tess and Devin, they were two grown folks falling for each other! They had their obstacles, but with friends and family pushing the inevitable they made it!
I'm a fairly new reader for Ms. Wolfe and I AM A FAN! This is my second book by her, and it delivers nicely. The setting, the characters, the interaction between Tessa and Devin was just magical. I loved everything about this read.
